New look
I appreciate the show very much, & listen regularly. I'm a bit disturbed by the new graphic, though. This (not even good) picture of only Dan makes me think of things the show is not about: personality... ego... individual over community... it was almost shocking to see. The previous graphic was uninteresting, to be sure, better artwork is called for. We hear about Dan constantly on every show. That's ok - but we don't need his face dominating, too! Honestly it makes me question the entire purpose of the show.

Great episode!
Loved this interview with Arthur brooks. I bought his book for my 3 kids. I’m going to listen to more of your podcast! This was my first episode

Arthur Brooks
I love your podcast! It has helped me tremendously. The latest episode with Arthur Brooks was absolutely one of my favorites. I’m going to read his books. Thank you so much for all you do here. You are very appreciated 😊

I just can’t
I’ve listened off and on for a few years and the self-indulgence has gotten progressively worse. I’m happy that he is on this journey but please don’t build a bus. Perhaps his inability to do his self work without public comment is more telling than anything else. Last episode was my nail in the coffin✌🏻

Distracting Feedback
I tried to listen to the latest two episodes (Buddhist Monks and the most important skill) and there was terrible feedback both times. I had to stop listening. Is it just me? Content started off really good through!

For Repeats, please indicate in the title
Many podcasts will re-release an old episode, but they are kind enough to indicate that it’s a re-released episode in the title of that episode. A few times now I have gone to listen to an episode and then after listening to advertisements and a little bit of an introduction Dan finally mentions that the episode was previously released. It’s a waste of my time and quite frustrating. Please include “ICYMI” or something similar in the title. Thank you.

Heal Faster
Loved the conversation with Dr. Victoria Maizes and Dan Harris about ways to activate the body’s own healing system
Passionate about learning
To health and happiness
Great episode with Dr Victoria Maizes - a tour de force conversation on the ways to enliven your health and recovery reflex. Thanks Dan and team.

Great Resource of Information
REALLY like the podcast, even though that last episode they started talking about climate change as if anybody that doesn’t believe in that scam is ignorant. The guest even wrote a book about the “evil” people giving humanity what they need and what has bring us all the biggest progress we’ve had to this point in history i.e. things like OIL. All because they’ve bought into the whole Marxist movement in disguise that can’t even make up their mind about the name they give their scams and keep changing it to fit their narrative and agenda. I can debate you guys all day with COMPLETE scientific proof that you’re always using as if it’s infallible like apparently you think you are. Don’t mess it up pushing YOUR “controversial” unproven personal politics. Thanks.

Porn & Mindfulness
I have struggled with a pornography addiction throughout most of my adult life. I also spent much of the 2010s practicing mindfulness meditation. I was very inspired by the books of Jon Kabat-Zinn, Judson Brewer, Richard Davidson, Mathieu Ricard and especially Dan Harris’s “10% Happier” thinking that by practicing mindfulness and strengthening my prefrontal cortex that I would be able to control compulsive impulses to look at porn.
I was wrong. I’d be able to go about month and then I’d eventually relapse.
The problem was that mindfulness, for all its benefits, does NOT rewire addicted neural pathways. I am happy to say that I found a method to actually deal with the addiction directly and I have successfully rewired my brain using a script I learned in the Beyond Compulsion Academy. Now, I am porn-free and recently retired to a consistent mindfulness meditation. I can’t express how much better meditation is now! Obviously, meditation is a much richer experience without the incessant, relentless desire to look at porn. I can really be in the present moment with greater ease.
If you are a practitioner of mindfulness meditation and also struggling with porn, look up the Beyond Compulsion Academy
and the ‘help is here’ podcast. They will actually get you out of the addiction. Freed from your compulsive sexual urges, your meditation practice will only benefit. I promise!

Faulty research & biased guest
Your episode with Riley Kirk on cannabis was awful. A “researcher” who self reports using weed multiple times/day everyday, she said it’s fine to “lean on” the substance when you questioned her about dependence. I wish you would’ve brought in the plethora of research saying how bad this amount of use is for memory, learning & retention, & motivation, not to mention connection to paranoia & psychosis. Meanwhile smoking/imbibing all day everyday day out of the need to “lean on” something to get her through her day would no doubt qualify her for cannabis use disorder. And yes, cannabis can be addictive. She’s putting out bad information, and you didn’t hold her accountable for that. this definitely makes me question the quality of information put forth in your show. Do better.

too many ads!
Like this podcast but SO… MANY… ADS!!!!

5 minutes of ads for 12 minutes of blah
I’d be 100% happier if I could make a living with such low effort slop. Unsubscribe.

You know what made me 10% sadder? Your sponsorship by AirBnB. Not a good company.

great interviews and content
i’ve loved this podcast since it’s inception! I am now getting annoyed at the sheer number of ads, but other than that, still really love the content.

So good
For the past year I have looked forward to every new show. I am so so grateful for this podcast and the wonderful ways the wisdom imparted has affected my mind and my life. Thank you Dan.

Beautiful program and…
I love how insightful the guests are and how Dan is so open and willing to be vulnerable and own his challenges. I have been uplifted more times than I can count. Thank you.
My one grievance, which is something most famous people do, is to call out their friendships with other famous people. In today’s podcast, for example, he mentions Joseph Goldstein. Rather than just name him, he says ‘my (our) good friend’…It feels as though that comes from ego. How does it elevate the info for us, the listeners? It doesn’t.

I can’t quit you, Dan (& team)
I signed up for the free trial, listened all week, then canceled because I “couldn’t afford it.” 2 days later, I’m back. This is the only podcast I pay for because the bonus content with the meditations is really worth it to me. Thank you!

I ALMOST always love and learn from the marvelous conversations Dan hosts on this podcast.
While 9 times out of 10 I learn a great deal from the interviews Dan hosts, I found the. Recent conversation with the therapist who causations again weaponizing therapeutic language to be highly problematic and overly simplistic in ways that are not typical for this podcast. I hope your listeners will not feel as invalidated as I did coming out of an “abusive” marriage (and yes, it was abuse—even if he was often temporarily remorseful for his “narcissistic “ and “gaslighting” behavior.
I eagerly await a conversation with a Buddhist who talks about the dangers of using Buddhist principles to spiritually bypass and gaslight itself in an abusive relationship.🙏

A lot of content to choose from
I have been listening to this podcast for years. I appreciate the variety of guests and tend to enjoy listening to monks, Buddhists, and actual teachers the most. I really enjoy Dan Harris and appreciate his self- deprecating humor. I have found that some guests are quite out of touch with the average American and their advice is not plausible and frankly, annoying. I don't have any interest in what a rich celebrity or athlete has to say about most things. Despite how grounded they think they are; it's impossible for them to truly understand what the majority of us are going through right now.
It was the episode with his old co-anchor, Paula Faris, that prompted me to write this review in hopes that someone from the show actually reads these.
The first ten minutes was about their relationship...and I turned it off. I have no desire to hear what this random, self involved woman has to say about anything.

Boring
Tired of hearing from “performance” coaches and celebrities. Please bring in more serious guests who are Buddhist and actually meditate.

Great guests
I sometimes wonder if I’m in the right tax bracket to be a listener of this show, lol. Even still, as a corporate millennial in middle management, some of the guests have genuinely changed the way I lead my team. Overall a great podcast that I listen to weekly.

Where to begin…
The book changed my life!! I like so many of the people interviewed and it always inspires even more discovery and reading. Also, I appreciate the no nonsense approach to meditation that holds space for everyone and meets you where you are in life.

Why on earth would I want to listen to a privileged white female whose late husband destroyed the middle class with his brutal downsizing, outsourcing and offshoring? People like them are rich off the backs of people like me. No one can afford anything anymore as the oligarchs get richer. No thanks Dan

Soul medicine
I listen to a lot of podcast but find myself often returning to Dan Harris. He is a great interviewer and love the people he has on his show. I have learned so much . It truly is medicine for the heart and soul.

Useful content if you can get past the ad-o-rama that clutters each episode
While many topics and interviewees have interesting, useful insights, the heavy handed advertising both from Dan promoting his entities as well as the paid ads that interrupt the flow of conversation are highly disruptive. Money must be made but is it necessary to occupy so much time with advertising and self-promotion?

Love this podcast
I have been a listener for years and rarely listen to any other spiritual/meditation podcasts. I don’t need to…The interviewees are the tops and I’ve come to think of Dan as a trusted if not skeptical and grumpy brother.

The best podcast dealing with life’s particular psychological issues!
Lovely it!

Incredible
Just finished listening to the episode with Elizabeth Gilbert on her memoir. I’m at work and couldn’t sob but I had to collect myself many times. Probably my favorite episode from the show. Dan is such a great interviewer and every episode is worth a listen. Shoutout to the team that decides the guests because they always have such beneficial information to offer.

Great content
Love how Dan Harris always keeps it real and asks his interviewers exactly what we I’m thinking. Break it down simpler, cut to the chase, what’s the easiest/best way, etc. Love the people he has on and the content. Just finished his book and happy to have this podcast to continue my journey into mindfulness, meditation, and wellness.

Love Dan!
First, let me say I love the podcast! I’ve loved the guests and Dan’s perspective on a variety of areas. My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is due to ads for BetterHelp. I hope that you will look into their business model, the complaints against them and how they treat their therapists. They get a lot of press because they are so big. Unfortunately, that does not always mean they are the best or only option.

To understand U must have a PHD
I found it very interesting and informative however I got so lost. I have an associate degree but I felt to completely understand this show you must have a lot more education and knowledge about physiology

Less about Buddhism now
I have been a listener of 10% Happier since the beginning. It brought so much to my life and practice. However, for the last year or so the show has shifted to be on more of a general “optimize” your life, wellness track that already exists elsewhere on the internet. Less contemplative, thoughtful and paradigm shifting and more “spreadsheet”human as robot energy.

Better than anti-anxiety meds
I have been a diehard fan of Dan Harris since his book came out in 2017 (Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics—which I highly recommend). Although I am not a frosty New Englander, as he playfully describes himself, his blend of wry humor, vulnerability and intelligence deeply speaks to me. He repeatedly reminds me that I am not alone on this journey, and there are resources and wisdom lurking in so many surprising places. This podcast in some ways has become a lifeline for me. Better than any anti-anxiety medication I’ve taken.

Diversity of guests
Though not all the episodes are of equal quality, I make sure to listen to every episode to discover the true gems, and there are quite a few of these. If Dan interrupted the guests less with his own experiences, the flow of the episodes would improve.

Great podcast
I really enjoy the show and diversity of guests and practical response to meditation and dharma. I particularly enjoy the look at Buddhist Psychology. Hoping for an interview with Bruno Cayoun soon!

Thank you 🙏
Thank you so very much for your recent podcast with Father Gregory Boyle. It was truly a life changing experience ! I am an agnostic just like you Dan, but Father Boyle’s obvious commitment to love and compassion was instructive and inspiring in dealing with people on “the other side of the aisle”- the biggest challenge of our time !

Brilliant
This podcast has been my accompaniment for the past six months and I have probably plowed through 100+ episodes by now. Dan’s brutal honesty and humor in combination with the depth of dharma and the human condition is amazing. I have read/listened to a lot of spiritual/’deep’ podcasts/books, but it all gets so heavy and dark I burn out. This is brilliant and dances with the joy, playfulness, ‘not full of yourself’ tone with the deep wisdom and depth of what it means to be human. Plus the combination of conceptual/academic rigor with practical tools/questions, such a dance!! The best is when DJ and Bianca are on where Dan’s vulnerability and ability to look at himself is even more heightened. I am so grateful and can’t wait to continue through all the past episodes. Deeply grateful

The best place for trusted voices in wellness
As a self-professed podcast junkie, the 10% Happier podcast is at the top of my list every single week. I finish each episode before I even consider listening to the 20+ others I’ve subscribed to. That being said, I’ve never felt compelled to leave a review though I know how much it must help new listeners to find you. I just finished the episode with Jeff Krasno, and it’s not hyperbole to say that I think it’s the most helpful podcast episode I’ve ever listened to. Jeff’s explanations and Dan’s subsequent summaries made all the advice and knowledge so easy to follow. I immediately went to Jeff’s site to purchase his book, and today I’m going all in on Dan’s Substack which I’ve been on the fence about. I’m a beginning meditator who has been afraid to commit to a subscription because I don’t want to beat myself up about not doing *all the things* I have access to, but it’s time to go all in.
If you’re looking for a podcast that introduces you to trusted voices (so you don’t have to do all the research yourself), you want a non-dogmatic approach to wellness, and you need it put into terms and actions you can implement, the 10% Happier Podcast is the place to be.

Marielle Segarra - I didn't last 5 minutes
I love your guests when they don't sound like they fell out of a high school prom in Cali.

Bourgeois Fragility
Can’t stand the willful ignorance of the show anymore when there are real, material crisis and atrocities out in the world; and here they’re still gingerly poking around the same old slim slices of “issues” just in case it hurts someone’s (i.e. lib elites) feelings.
Aesthetics over substance.

You promote Sam Harris, really?
I used to listen to and recommend this podcast but since Dan started supporting and promoting Sam Harris, an openly racist and misogynistic toad who promotes discrimination, I can’t. I’m disappointed, I thought Dan was better than that.

Fantastic podcast
Dan is an incredible interviewer, asks questions I didn’t even know I had and helps translate the answers when needed to ensure that key points are successfully communicated. This podcast has been so helpful in brightening my perspective on a host of really important issues.
