amazon???
love this podcast, but cut the cord w amazon this year -- Bezos has destroyed the Washington Post, cowtowed to Trump -- Amazon is terrible for the environment -- really shocked by this move -- sad really

Not Amazon
Really curious why you would partner with Amazon. Love your show, but I refuse to give Jeff Bezos any more of my money. Sad to lose you.

Excellent podcast
This podcast is exceptional. Every guest is worth listening to. Julia is an amazing host.

I’m DONE
I’m listening to the Catherine O’Hara episode a couple of days after Catherine’s death. Julia-for the love of all things holy-STOP MAKING EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU! Your guests NEVER get a word in. It’s disrespectful and unforgivable in every way. Why aren’t you reading feedback and taking action to change?

Getting better all the time
This is a wonderful interview podcast. Even if I’m not particularly interested in a guest, I’m always glad I listened. The Nyad episode was especially exceptional. (But I could probably say the same about each one.

The women I need and don’t have —
My best Gram was stolen from be by ovarian Cancer when I was 30 years old, and I’m estranged from my alcoholic mother. This podcast provides me that maternal advice I have longed for my entire adult life. And with a side of Julia and her hilarious humor to boot. I am so grateful. Also love love love her mother and the sweet conversations we get a peek into at the end of every episode! Thank you, Julia for this gem of a podcast!

Wildly Overrated
I agree with another reviewer here. 1) JLD is trying too hard to be younger than her guests. Her “boys” that she can’t go a few days without seeing are in their late twenties. She has a pedigreed education from a wealthy family yet uses the tween expression “for sure” until I want gag. The f word is used as a catch all for every pause even with guests that state they don’t like it (Jean Smart). She seems less an activist than a multimillionaire doing the relentless hard pitch for expensive non necessity products that would only be found on the shelves of her home. She gushes over every utterance from her guests until she’s swooning. Her conversations with her mother feel like she needs to remain the perpetual child. This podcast has needed a tighter rein (producer?) from day one.

Organized, Informative
This is one of the best organized and produced podcasts. Julia not only does her research before each interview but has organized questions, a nice intro, and good conclusion. The humor and style of Julia’s conversations keep you listening for more. The purpose of this show is important and why I recommend it over and over.

Wiser than us all
The amazing, wise, and talented women that Julia interviews remind us all that so much can be learned simply by asking questions of those that have experienced and lived. This podcast is a gift and if I had only one bad thing to say it would be that it makes me that much sadder that my mother is no longer here to share it with.

Authentic as Hell!
Mrs. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, I stumbled on this podcast I’m sorry to say just recently. It was the episode you did with Conan and I thought I need a real uplifting podcast right now, the comedy is needed too but the positivity more. I am starting at the beginning. Each episode gives me goose bumps and brings a tear to my eye. You are the most genuine voice I have heard lately. Each introduction is a masterpiece. Hell you even read the ads perfectly. Thank you for creating this.

American living in Barcelona
Hello! I’m a huge fan of JLD and the pod! Been listening since ep1. My husband and I recently relocated to Barcelona (for all the reasons you’d expect at this point in our history) and we just went to see a FABULOUS exhibit at the design museum here called DHub by photographer Isabel Steva Hernández, better known by her pseudonym, Colita, and writer Maria Aurèlia Capmany. If you find yourself in BCN, I highly recommend it! We walked through thinking of you and your show. One of the opening quotes “But an old man is still a man, even if he’s old; an old woman is nothing. She has to be an appetizing body, a fertilizable body; she has ceased to be gendered in the way that has been accepted as the essence of femininity. The woman has become the anti-woman. She is neither woman nor man; she is something else.” Keep doing what you’re going, JLD! Thank you for your important contribution. (LOVED the most recent Nyad ep).

Hi.
OMGOSH, Bonnie Rait!!!!! I’ve listened to your Bonnie podcast at least 3 times. She is my hero! Now I love YOU even more because you did such a great job interviewing her. Whew. What a wonderful, talented, true human being of a person she is. I almost felt like I was in the room with one of my hero’s. Doesn’t she just rock your world! Oh, silly me, clearly she does. Thank you again. Petra
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Good concept, bad execution
I was really excited when I heard about this show, it’s exactly the kind of thing I’d love to listen to - advice from women who have so much wisdom! Why then, are all of the episodes I’ve listened to dominated by discussions of their children and husbands? I find that the host asks questions about things the guest has already spoken about in other forums and fails to get anywhere near the profound.

Love, love love! Beyond!
This podcast is a remarkable privilege! Thank you, Julia Louis-Dreyfus for this incredible opportunity to be a fly on the wall of these women that have, as a 1974 born woman with two working and in college parents, have permanently transformed how I grew up! Jane Fonda, oh gosh, I mean 9 to 5! Still amazing! Please have Lily and Dolly on! I appreciate all of the care and reverence that you bequeath to all of your guests and to your mother. Please keep having the conversation and connection that matter. I hope that the younger generations can glean a snippet of wisdom from your efforts. I appreciate all you do! Happy holidays!

Refreshing, funny and thoughtful
This show is so good. Julia is such a natural! She has such respect for her guests. I love how authentic she is! I think she is so so so funny. People love her as well. When she speaks to women who came up like her it’s magical. Thank you Julia for this gift called a podcast.

Zinnias
Long time listener, first time reviewer. You ended your episode with Roz Chast by talking about zinnias. My mom, who passed 2 years ago this week, always grew a huge bed of zinnias so she could have cut flowers inside and enjoy them outside. This flower is forever associated with my mom.

Learning So Much
I find many of these episodes lead me to look at my life and myself in ways I had never before considered. Love it. Also, thanks to this show I have discovered the MSI foundation. Donating today, on Giving Tuesday.

I absolutely love this podcast, but can we have more Black women and women of Color? Mae Jamison, Viola Davis, Michelle Obama.

Roz Chast
I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Roz. I was laughing so much when you told the joke about the caveman with his stone wheel with a hole. I really needed to laugh and it made me realize that I don’t laugh enough! Thank you so much.
P.S. Your mom is a pistol!!

SNL memories
Your description of that first SNL show had me tingling. That was me, in every way you mentioned. Wow, did you take me right back to my teen bedroom and red Panasonic tv tuned in intensely. And, Jane you rock!

Wiser with every Listen
I listen to this Podcast during my morning walks. I learn, I laugh out loud and I even get teary. The part of Julia talking with her mom at the end of the show is brilliant. In the Nina Totenberg episode she asked her mom if she ever felt like a “Frog”. I lost it! I will always her Frog, not Fraud, from now on. Please keep on making us laugh, learn, grow and feel a part of a wonderful community. Also, I would love to make desserts for you if you are ever in the Philadelphia area. Retired Pastry Chef here. Also, I too met the Pope😊.

So worth our time
Do yourself a favor and listen to these amazing interviews. There are shared learnings that will resonate with you, I promise. Best part is the end when JLD calls her sweet Mom to debrief. Looking so forward to the next season! Thank you so much JLD!

My favorite podcast
I’m very excited that Wiser Than Me is returning for the fourth season. The women she interviewed are so interesting. I always learn something new. I love the end when she and her Mom discuss these wise women. I’m always recommending this podcast to my friends.

Wise Women Unite here!
Not only is Julia an interesting host very pleasant to listen to, her respect for women who have lived longer and gathered valuable life experiences is INCREDIBLE!
This is valuable and the opposite of toxic anti-aging marketing that hurts women.
Thank you Julia!!!

Amazing
I am SO happy to hear another season is coming soon. This podcast is an absolute treasure! I have learned so much and felt a lot of encouragement! As a woman that has had to involuntarily restart my life at age 47, I was feeling “too old”, “used up”. Listening to other women’s stories has made me hopeful. Thank you for this podcast.

This podcast is a gift!
Thank you, JLD, for creating this podcast. I have been a listener since the beginning but am only now getting around to posting a review.
As a woman in my early 60s, I appreciate the perspectives of these women. My own mother died in 2005, and I still wish I could turn to her for advice. Hearing words of wisdom from her generation, especially when it’s from women I have admired since childhood, makes me feel like she is still speaking to me in her own way.
I don’t know if you take requests, but I’d love to hear from Elizabeth Warren, June Squibb, Judi Dench, and Helen Mirren!

Jane Goodall
Just re-listened, today being Jane’s passing. What an incredible interview. Jane had so much to teach all of us. Thank you Julia for capturing lightning in a bottle! One day we all die. These ladies words, in their own voices, live on.

Great Episodes, but Not Enough of Them
The interviews are funny and thought provoking. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is very witty, funny and honest. Would rate it a 5 except that there has not been a new podcast in almost a year—2025 has been all reruns.

Interesting guests
Julia is a good interviewer and I love the mission. But I’m not sure you can call yourself an activist and shill for Amazon. Please reconsider. Peace.

Very entertaining and enlightening
These interviews were very thought provoking and informative. I have enjoyed getting to know these women better. I enjoy Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ passion for the lives these ladies have lived, and her mother’s insight on the impact they have had on the world. I look forward to see who is the next guest on Wiser Than Me.

Julie and Julia
Superb! Julia, like you, I grew up with Maria and The Sound of Music is my favorite of all time…period. So, when I heard Dame Julie’s voice and her interview, I was smiling all along. She is my hero! I was wondering if Dame Julie is going to have any more book readings or any known public outings where I too, can catch a glimpse of that genius…just once. Thank you for a candid and interesting show. It was “one” of my favorite things.

I love this but..
I love the show but I do not like that they keep relistings old episodes on the feed. I don’t want to “listen again.” I paid attention the first time. Just make new content please. Newcomers can see all the past episodes so there isn’t a paid for anyone besides the advertising contracts.
Jarrett
Yes, And
I admire Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She reminds me I can be smart and funny. Sexy and professional. A mom and an individual. In listening to nearly every episode of this podcast, I especially admire her mother for giving listeners a kind, honest, & supportive point of view that’s way easier to hear from any mother that’s not own own.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is aspirational. I wish I’d been the daughter she is. Michelle Obama is “the name Michelle will christen generations of revolutionary babies of color” iconic.
I just wish their financial privilege wasn’t so expressly related through Julia’s trite solution to adult loneliness: Senior Citizen Tennis. A common pastime not accessible to most senior communities. Try as Michelle Obama might, the theme veers to a tone deaf destination diminished of the profound realities of their friends and listeners.
You don’t have to play pickleball. I don’t play pickleball. (I’m 40. Give me time.) But we cant throw around inaccessible solutions when the obvious examples require little more than venturing outside of one’s own social media feed. Women who are present and relevant cannot refer to Bergdorf’s with the same airy gravitas most Americans assign BJ’s.
If you alienate women who are more likely to have a kickass book club than a Petroleum Club, you’re really missing out.
You can be aspirational and relatable. You already are each time you listen and learn.
