Just drove by the Idaho reactor SL1. Very poorly marked. Weird. In other news hosts, in general hosts rant on about how evil Israel is and ranting about a cease fire without mentioning the hostages still held and the murder and rape and rape and murder. Yes, war is bad but Israel is allowed to defend themselves against terrorism. Apparently the hosts never heard about the holocaust. Maybe stay w engineering and consider reading a history book.

An Ongoing Disaster
What a dumpster fire this claptrap of a show is. Everything from the presentation to the content to the airhead opinions.
Saving Viking
It’s ok
I really like the people who make this podcast! but every episode boils down to somebody reading Wikipedia article while the other hosts say “wow, that’s crazy”.

Funny, irreverent, and interesting
It breaks all social mores about disaster coverage, audience interaction, and professional audio production and I love it for all those reasons. If you lean left this will usher you to the far extremes of that political realm. That doesn’t make it wrong, but do beware echo chambers

A classic
It’s the podcast about engineering disasters with slides that got me into podcasts in the first place. Also I would kill for Milo Edward to be a guest again.

Honestly, there was never a chance that I wouldn’t enjoy an autistic-coded comedy podcast about engineering disasters through a leftist lens but if that doesn’t sound interesting to you, keep scrolling and move on I guess. I’ve learned a lot from this show, even/especially from the episodes on more “well-trodden” disasters. I will say it’s better with the slides on YouTube but nobody is stopping you from listening audio I suppose

Good
The perfect autistic podcast for me, an autistic person.

Next Episode is on Chernobyl
One of my most favorite podcasts to listen to. Banter is top notch, the topics discussed are always something to sink into, and the chaos is next level. Always enjoy listening to this one, and you should too!

It’s a good time
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It’s consistently at least “appreciative grin” funny and quite frequently veers into “piss yourself laughing” territory (see the atmospheric railway episode). They usually have an expert guest for technical detail and are generally accurate in their facts. They are very transparent about the fact they are not experts and are occasionally wrong. They cop to it when they are, so I’m not worried about it. In general very funny, very irrelevant, good educational entertainment. I recommend.

No. Can’t say that on Youtube.
As a generally ignorant layman concerning engineering stuff, I find this to be a wonderful, palatable way to learn about the world and famous disasters. Even though this is primarily a slides-based podcast, I find the hosts do a good job describing what they’re seeing that I feel fine just listening. Also, I love all the tangents, not gonna lie. One of the funniest podcasts out there, and I hope that Trump (Youtube.) into a million (No.)

Wow! What a show
My favorite part of the show is when all three hosts shout “Well there’s your problem!”. It’s the best part of every episode

Don’t waste your time
Saw this podcast mentioned on FB and it sounded really interesting. I expected a scientific dissection of the disasters and solutions to prevent them. It actually was a train wreck itself. The podcast was almost 2 hours long and I had to fast forward through the first hour because they’d barely got to the main topic. When they did, they constantly interrupted with stupid jokes that they all laughed at uproariously. The coliseum exploded on 10-31-63 and killed 80, injuring 400 (I had to go to Wikipedia for that btw) and they couldn’t stop laughing about popcorn machines. So disrespectful. With 28 minutes left I finally gave up. They’d probably only let the narrator get on with about 10 minutes of the actual topic. One star but would be zero. So boring.

Great topics, poor delivery.
I appreciate the topics selected and the information included but wading through the 50% of unrelated banter to get to it is such a waste of what could be a great podcast.

Its way too choppy you cannot follow the topic. Too often sounds like a bunch of semi drunk frat boys

Please stop interrupting each other
Lovely podcast, lovely hosts, lovely topics. Please just stop jumping in with bits so often. Can make it hard to follow a topic through the episode and adds 10-15 minutes to the run time. The bits are often funny, it’s just way too many of them during the content section.

This is a favorite
Entertaining, educational, and hilariously profane. They host play off each other well and are knowledgeable. The addition stories from listeners called Safety Third are also great. These folks clearly put in a lot of research and effort. History and engineering - I’m learning a lot.

A+ Seige of Hogsmeade
I love the engineering info and the way the hosts riff off each other and clearly care for one another. I was inspired to leave a review because the Seige Engines episode was so fun! I also adore Safety Third. Overall, while nothing annoys a leftist like listening to other leftists with opinions 0.01% different from theirs, I appreciate the sincerity of the frustrations expressed. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for whatever the particular flavor of rant is, but it is clearly baked into this podcast’s concept so it’s kind of silly to complain about it. The news-heavy portions or episodes are less interesting to me (especially since I’m not listening in real-time, I don’t really want to relive the early pandemic days and the Trump presidency) but they’re at the beginning of the episode or in one-off episodes so they are easy to skip if you choose.

Who knew engineers were so sassy?
Uninformed and pretentious. The only humor involved is that one of the hosts is confused as to which gender he is

Hilarious and Informative
This show is one of my absolute favorites! I listen to the podcast as well as watch the YouTube version because I love the show so much. The episode are dense with information and filled with laughs. The hosts always find a way to make the topics engaging and entertaining! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cool show about engineering!

All the pro gun, candy flavored energy drink- chugging misogyny and ableism of a DSA chapter meeting but with an engineering degree and a military collectibles shopping process addiction.

Funny ELI5 for wild stuff in history
I am a music/linguistics/art type person who is math and science phobic but still very curious about history and thirsty for knowledge. They do such an amazing job making all sorts of engineering-type things not only accessible and understandable but also very funny. Entertaining, love it!

Perfect.
I can’t believe that I find myself falling in love with this trio. I feel seen. I feel held. As is always the case the folks telling the biggest and most righteous truths are also the funniest people in the world. And for the haters: writing a negative review ain’t gonna make you smarter than these folks… maybe see if they might change your mind, cause my bet is they could. Jump in, the waters fine.

Annoying
Just couldn’t get past one of the annoying hosts talking too much. Also, when you talk over each other in a podcast it makes the audio really hard to understand.

Waiting for Godot-level cynical humor
Sometimes it makes me cry laughing, sometimes it just makes me cry. Been binge-listening for three weeks, often re-listening to episodes to learn more things + laugh again. Can be hard to follow if you listen here instead of on YouTube where you can see the slides.

Irreverently Unpacking History
A not too serious but often enlightening discussion of history with laugh-out-loud commentary. Kinda like a discussion with your slightly cynical, well-read, friends over a beer. Obv, a buncha dudes chatting so may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you want to learn about a London ferry boat sinking in a sewage-filled river due to bad judgment and similar issues, give it a try.

Political, engineering or middle school comedy?
The description of leftist is correct but is this supposed to be a political pod that covers poorly constructed engineering points with bad comedy or an engineering pod with poorly constructed political rhetoric and bad comedy? And stop interrupting guests with a bad joke
TJwheelie
Good Chemistry but political leanings ruin it for me
I’ve listened to about 10 episodes over the past year. They seem like a typical group of friends just with a very very leftist lean. Most of it I could just ignore but I really wish I didn’t have to hear so much coded anti-Israel rhetoric. I wish I didn’t have to hear any political talk on a podcast I found in order to get away from politics but thems the breaks.

Great Chemistry
I am always drawn to podcasts that are really just friends chatting about things they enjoy. If you are interested in learning a little and laughing a lot, this is the podcast for you. The lesson I’ve learned from this podcast is that a lot of people are idiots. It is a lot of fun.

Episode 119
Folk, Thanks loads for what I consider the best evidence possible that American Capitalism is a very bad thing for humanity. Episode 119 ( on the history of the RR industry) highlights the very reason my oldest daughter (a fan of your show) is employed in St. Paul, MN as an electrical engineer. Her employer has her working on RR yard updates and rebuilds. She also dislikes the tier 1 RR companies. BH Ohio (send help)
