I’m an independent and appreciate balanced news. This is not it. Production quality is high but the news is almost all politics and all strongly left. Make it more balanced !

News organizations need to stop reporting assumptions. Report facts only and let the People have their own opinions. Up First would be good, but lots of assumptions and twisted the truths. Stick to the FaCTS ONLY.

Every report on Lebanon includes information about their loss and no recognition of Lebanon’s complicity with Hezbollah in their ongoing attacks on Israel. Hezbollah doesn’t care if their people get bombed. That’s part of their media strategy.

I listen every day and I love it. What I don’t want is an hour interview with Dave Chappelle when I come to listen to the top three stories. Stick to the stories and keep the interviews to your sister podcast.

I love Up First! I get all the big headlines in just a few minutes; short and to the point. It inspired me to give to NPR; it should inspire you, too. This is what independent journalism sounds like.

Great pod to be up to date quickly. 14min is how long it takes me to prepare breakfast so I’ve built a habit of playing the pod as soon as I start and being done about the time I’m ready to eat.

This podcast has been my go to news podcast for over 2 years now. It’s the most efficient and comprehensive way to stay informed with global politics that I’ve found. My parents watch television news for a couple hours each day and they walk away with roughly the same amount of knowledge that I gain in 15 minutes with Up First!

I find this the best way to get the news you need without doom scrolling, or going down a rabbit hole of despair. They pick what’s relevant and give you pertinent information

I listen every day to get an idea of what’s going on. A good amount of info to know what I should look into a little more if I’m interested. Great, bite size news that I can listen to on my way to work.

This is the only news source I have found that manages to be extremely informative--providing relevant context and nuances, pointing out contradictions, and highlighting false statements and providing the facts that contrast them--while maintaining a professional tone that doesn't veer into the biting sarcasm or goading tones that often accompany that sort of reporting. It's news that my nervous system can handle!

I don’t know what I would do without Up First. It’s the perfect way to start your day. They provide enough information to keep you up to date without making you feel overwhelmed. It’s news you can trust with hosts who balance compassion and humor.

This podcast does a fantastic job of highlighting a few significant current events of each day and giving insight into each of them in a factual, unbiased manner. It gives you the power of knowledge without the panic spiral of a more lengthy deep dive.

I dropped this podcast after the Jamie Dimon interview. I listen to this podcast for the news, not for interviews with billionaire CEOs who are out of touch with the daily lives of Americans. Reuters World News is probably the best news podcast imo. STiCK TO THE NEWS!!!

Appreciate the factual information every morning.

I start the day with Up First and generally find it to be a good way to get the latest news. One piece of feedback I would give is this: can npr start reporting on president trump’s psychological decline? As a psychotherapist told me a few weeks ago, he is a decompensating narcissist. This means that the psychological tools that has been able to use to counteract his narcissism aren’t working. This is not a partisan issue. This is a guy that is self-destructing. This might be worth an All Things Considered episode.

I’ve listened to this podcast on/off for the past few years and it’s really great at highlighting the arguably most present issues in the US while still overviewing other global issues. I trust the journalists to have well researched and unbiased stories. I always tell friends I listen to the Golden Globe nominated podcast.

I have listened to UpFirst for years. It’s what I listen to while getting ready to go out the door. If I don’t hear any other news the rest of the day, I feel informed. The weekend edition is interesting too.

Up First is the only podcast I refuse to miss an episode of. It’s the perfect amount of information to start my day and an excellent antidote to doomscrolling.

I’ve been listening to NPR since college and have always felt they can be a trusted news source, providing not just the news but multiple perspectives of the world and what is shaping it. I’ve come to love Up First, especially A’s snarky banter w Leila, Ayesha’s infectious laugh & even Steve’s singing.

As a conservative, I listen to the show to make sure I’m getting both sides. While NPR claims to be unbiased (unlike other conservative outlets that own their bias—e.g., Daily Wire), NPR clearly has a left-wing bias that’s revealed in the facts they leave out of their reporting, the way that hosts (Steve in particular) ask questions, and the stories they choose to report on. If they owned it, this review would be a five-star review because the program is very well-produced. The fact that they don’t, and go so far as to claim to be unbiased, is why this review is only a three-star review. ** Update: Was a three-star review, and then they deceptively edited Easter remarks of one of the Artemis II astronauts to remove any reference to God, faith, or Christianity.

I love everything about this podcast. It’s digestible, informative, entertaining, and a perfect start to my morning! Huge shoutout to the entire crew that makes this podcast come to life— NPR rocks :)

It’s a norm for me to play this every morning and start my day with some information to start my day. Even when I travel internationally I use the app to stay tuned with current events. Thank you, thank you so much for the job you do to bring this to us!!!!

The news can be overwhelming these days. It’s so nice to have a daily roundup of the most important stories so that I can stay informed.

My day isn’t complete until I listen to Up First. I rely on, and am grateful for, this reasoned, fact-based reporting to keep me aware of top news stories. Thank you to NPR and its excellent, dedicated staff and journalists.

Up First is such a great idea for a podcast. I love getting the three top stories, complete with excellent reporting and the facts that I need. There’s no wasted time, no fluff, just good solid journalism in a brief format. It’s the headliner in my Morning News podcast playlist. I can’t stand television morning shows because they are so overly perky. Up First strikes, just the right tone – friendly, informed, respectful of the audience, fair, and balanced.

As we watch the weirdness ensue, Up First and NPR become more crucial to getting REAL and FACT-BASED news. So grateful to be able to start my day with the Up First crew.

This podcast helps me stay informed on the big stuff without overwhelming me with despair. I appreciate that they report on the boggling absurdities of this world so professionally and good-naturedly. (The president said this, and then he did the exact opposite one minute later, so what do we make of that?) Great hosts, especially Ayesha!

The format makes this the perfect dose of news, even on days you don’t really want to hear the news. The hosts are personable and it can be followed like a conversation.

Up First is always my first listen of the day. It’s the way I have stayed informed for the last few years and I am a recent convert to the Plus subscription version. Highly recommended!
