Ditch captain
Captain brings noting to this podcast but annoyance.

Meh
If you like to listen to 2 Boomers rant on and on with terrible cloggy voices and wet spitty sounds and really have no intellectual backgrounds, this is the podcast for you! Just awful. Leave the podcasting to the younger folks that do know how to edit and can hold a convo…this was laughable at best.🤮🤮

FLUFF FACTOR: 23% (ouch)
/ Episode length: 57 mins / Ads + Fluff ⭕️ ⬆️: 13 mins / Avg time between ads: 19 mins. / Based on episode: 813.P1. A SEVEN MINUTE ad break! Ouch. ============================. IS THAT 6.5 MINUTES OF ADS IN EPISODE 847?! Holy ****. Episode 856, SIX minutes worth of ads in a row! Ouch.

The best!
Long time listener! I feel like I am pulling up a chair, grabbing myself a Diet Pepsi and listening to a couple of friends chat about true crime.

My fave crime podcast
I love the format of this show, and always look forward to the new cases. They really lay everything out in an easy to follow way.

Sick Garbage!!!! so it's been proven that Patsy Ramsey killed Jonny. If you listen to the podcast called the normal family it contains real evidence and it explains why the grand jury indicted both Patsy and John Ramsey on murder charges. Fleet White had NOTHING to do with her death or anything they're talking about in this episode. This is pure garbage, pure here. This is sick and disgusting. The only thing the white had to do with anything was the unfortunate fact that they knew the Ramsey's. This is total garbage and I hope the White's sue these guys it's sick and gross! The fact that people keep interviewing one of the Prime suspects John Ramsey tells you how screwed up this whole thing is. There is no killer. They're never going to find anyone because it happened in the Home and it happened with John and Patsy Ramsey my guess is that and that Patsy ended up killing her because of that. Just a theory, but the Ramsey did it that's for sure. Check the grand jury information the more that comes out the more you will see the truth...

Was once a great show
I once loved this show, it was my go to when going about my day. But to be honest “the captain” irritates the h£ll out of me. I expect Nic has been forced to take him everywhere since they were kids because their mom didn’t want to deal with him. But to let him tag along and ruin your podcast is just too much. His obsession with p0rn and j£rking off takes away so much from your podcast. Especially when you can tell it’s edited in after the fact. If you are going back and adding comments why not make them relevant to the case? Not sure I can stick around much longer but if you decide to get an adult co host I’ll definitely be back. So sad to let one juvenile man baby ruin a once great show.

So stretched for content. $$$
Such a money making scheme. And their going on and on about stuff to stretch the time is an insult to the listener. And it’s not just the captain although his drunken takes make me wish I didn’t have ears. Poor Amy Bradley.

Loser scum
These idiots recycled Innocence Project propaganda in their Kevin Cooper episodes. They know he’s guilty, they’re just opportunistic scum.

Jason Landry
I’m glad you covered this missing person story. I agree that Jason probably died out there and wildlife found him. From what I understand very little remains were found of Brandon L and what caught searchers attention was his clothing. Poor Jason wasn’t even wearing any. My heart goes out to his family.

Y’all are the best!!!
Best true crime podcast. Actually just the best hands down podcast. Keep doing the lords work boys

One of the best podcasts.
Have been listening to True Crime Garage for a couple of years now. Enjoy the soundtrack. Great show to listen to when driving around getting errands done. Nic & Captain take time to know their subjects and go out of their way to tell a full story. Proud fan!

Good show minus the captain
I listen to a LOT of true crime podcasts and turn to this one a few times a month. The content covered by Nic is pretty good and thorough. I wish the Captain would just shut up and go away. He’s pretty insufferable with his stupid, sometimes tone deaf comments. When you’re hosting/discussing murders (this is for you, captain) it’s really not funny to randomly throw in a stupid remark in an attempt at humor.

Love the cut of their jibs.
Long time listener, first time reviewer. Great show, love the banter and respect they give to the victims. I also love the term douche canoe and heard it first here.

Best true crime podcast
I used to be subscribed to several true crime podcasts now this is the only one I’m still subscribed to. Can’t wait for them to do Karen read.

A great listen
These guys never disappoint. TC content, original music, all of it. Love listening. Plus, they remind me of the good natured teasing/banter my brother used to give me. I’m from Columbus OH (live elsewhere now) so this pod is excellent TC listening, plus a slice of home.

The first podcast I’ve ever subscribed to!
My absolute favorite podcast to listen to whether on the road, on the golf course, or at home. Detailed breakdowns with factual information. Great discussions of cases solved and unsolved. As a person who travels across the country with several hour long trips this podcast allows me to be entertained and engaged for hours at a time. Both hosts do a great job explaining the cases and having great conversation about the case and incidents. I love the occasional joke from the captain to help lighten the mood without being distasteful or distracting. True crime is filled with podcasts out there but true crime garage stands out with minimal ads, actual information, and quality audio. They actually focus on the facts and break that all down while keeping it engaging.

Look into cases more closely
I won’t be listening anymore. Their coverage of the Corbett case was absolutely disgusting. They blamed the victim. Smh. Do better.

True Crime Garage is an outstanding podcast. They present the narratives behind each case in a well-structured and sufficiently detailed manner, making you feel like a part of the story. You guys are the BEST!

How did I not know about this podcast?? I spend an ungodly amount of time on LA freeways and always burn through may latest favs in about a day and a half. Your podcast has saved me from reruns of my usuals. You guys have great chemistry and I always hear a new fact or detail about a case I’ve heard on multiple other pods. The only thing is Captain it’s the cut of your jib… I know you know that but it kinda drive me crazy as a longtime sailor!! But the show is so good I’m getting over it🤣

I listened to a bunch of different podcasts, when I started listening to TCG I let all the others fall back. Easy to listen to, understand, and enjoy. Keep up the great work guys, Love from NY!

Reprehensible
Your coverage of the murder of Jason Corbett is abhorrently misinformed.

Hey…Momma Needs Her True Crime
I agree 100%, but I worry for your baby! :)

Momma needs her true crime
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite true crime podcast. I listen anytime Im running errands with the baby and these episodes just go by so quick! Keep up the great work guys! I love how well researched each episode is. Absolutely my favorite for when baby is in the car with me—I don’t have to worry TOO much about the grotesque details coming through—they do a good job of explaining what happened without all the horrible grotesque details that some true crime podcasters really harp on.

Awesome podcast! But my ear balls hurt listening to you say Waukesha! 😂 It’s pronounced ‘wok-eh-shaw.’ It’s not Ke$ha’s home town. Can you please call out this correction for the many many Wisconsin listeners?

Long time listener, first time reviewer, forever a fan!
Been listening since 2016… wanted to wait until I could REALLY give a fair analysis and review I guess? 🤣
Nick and the Captain stay in my weekly rotation and their show is the first one I refresh to see if there are any new episodes! I like that they cover a wide range of cases: old, new, ongoing etc… their friendship really comes through in every episode, the banter is authentic and doesn’t drag on, and they are very even-keeled regarding sensitive subjects which I greatly appreciate. 10000/10.

One of the best podcasts
I’m listening to the Oklahoma City bombing episode. I was 2 blocks away from the bombing. We lost a dear family friend and many of my coworkers had children in the YMCA daycare. This day was horrific, absolutely terrifying. You gentlemen have done an amazing job of reporting this tragedy succinctly. Thank you for all of your amazing reporting.

TCG has Tanked - Long Time Listener
UPDATE April 2025)…
Checking in. For some reason I missed listening to Nic say, “Grab a chair, grab a beer, let’s talk some true crime…” so I decided to listen for the sake of nostalgia. When “The Captain” said, “we’re like a fine wine, we’re get better with age…” or something to that effect, I must disagree. The show is okay, but the success must be attributed to a relatively low standard accepted by listeners. The guys (still) notoriously mispronounce common words and place names (simple preliminary googling can help one properly pronounce things), run laboriously long pontificating about subjects in which they clearly lack expertise. Almost five years and the basic things you’d expect to improve have not. They are complacent, oblivious to their own shortcomings as professional hosts, as many oblivious podcasters seem to be. That’s not to say that they aren’t great people, clearly the hosts care about the good in humanity, and they enjoy their beer. Maybe that’s why I still listen every few years.
UPDATE (October 5, 2020)… Boooring. I wonder why I still listen. Honestly the best part of the show is the introduction, after that we are presented with extraneous dialogue, poor reading, and idiotic commentary by the captain. Most episodes are two parts now, which means more commercials and more time to listen to these guys babble. UPDATE (May 28, 2020): Most of the time I like the cut of their jib but I have to say that during the first Ahmaud Arbery episode I sat dumbfounded as I listened to the Captain ramble on with completely inaccurate information, bumbling through his opinions about the case. It was embarrassing. I was actually surprised to see TCG cover this situation so soon, and they probably shouldn't have touched it at all. Not sure if I'll listen anymore. Used to like the show but it's not as good as it once was. Previous review updates: Too many advertisements these days. Music and voices are adversely affected by over-compression. The voices sound squeezed unnatural, and music suffers from pumping. Otherwise nice tracks. UPDATE: Not digging the new dramatization approach. Hopefully the multi-part Shaker Heights thing is a one-off. The Captain is not a voice actor. If I want audio theater drama there are plenty of options out there. TCG was two guys talking about true crime. Please get back to the format for which so many people enjoy the show.

TCG was my Gateway podcast
I had to come back and hear Nick and Captain for old times sake. I listened for years until I stopped True Crime pods all together. I became way too jumpy in the middle of the night... I still think they’re the best to do it.

My favorite podcast for a reason
Not sure what all the hate is here; this has been my favorite podcast for 2-3 years now and I always seem to be coming back to it. I love their banter as it keeps me engaged (if you don’t like a little dry humor then that’s a you issue y’all) and listening eagerly.

Love you guys! Don’t love the Gods Misfits episodes. I like your normal format. I found myself getting very bored and not able to pay attention to this one guys.
