Not sure how you if Cindy is actually innocent. Her demeanor and actions after her husband passed, is what has me questioning her innocence. Definitely comes off as unlikable but it does not mean she is guilty. I think the labs dropped the ball big time and she deserved a fair trial. Hope the truth comes out eventually for the sake of this young man’s family. Prayers to his family as they have been put through the wringer.

Too many episodes to get to the conclusion you think she was innocent. I think she was/is guilty. I hope she does not ever benefit financially from her escapades.

in that initial investigation, can't you just check phone records to find the order of the calls? whether cindy called 911 first vs the "friend" to come over? also, if her primary breadwinner just died, makes complete sense she's worried about money for her family! that investigation was weak sauce. great story josh and team!

This specific series has distracting, overwhelming background music. Please rein it in.

Josh at his best! Telling both sides of the story, connecting with the people on both sides of that story, and man, what a story there is!

Seems to be a trend this year of doing stories about murderers who have been let go on technicalities. Cindy Summers is 100% a horrible, money grabbing murderer.

On episode SIX you can no longer listen unless you subscribe to the one week free trial and then it’s 34.99 a year which I think is so obnoxious! Episode SIX and they pull this. I’ll just research and find out what happened later. I’m over Dateline now.

Josh does an excellent job walking through the particulars of the case and it’s a really nuanced and interesting story!

The entire tone of this is gross - people blaming her because she was doing things they didn’t like - but no actual legitimate reasons. Couldn’t stomach more than one episode.

A fair amount of reviews complaining about the subscription. Compared with the slew of schlocky podcasts, this is an absolute winner. Crazy what the prosecution did. Awful

I can’t believe dateline featured an interview with a man who was in a relationship with Cindy when she was 15 and he was 20. This is deeply disturbing. Even if she is guilty the decision to have him on the podcast is impossible to understand and I’ve unsubscribed.

Just subscribe…the value is well worth the cost! Dateline does a great job bringing interesting stories that are well composed and presented. They are entertaining, factual and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Like any good slow burn story, I’m thinking that this podcast series is laying the groundwork for a future reveal. I’m curious as to what that will be, so I’m not writing this one off yet….

I have yet to listen to one of these from dateline that I have not loved however, please stop making us subscribe when you don’t even have all the episodes out yet that is really frustrating!

Clearly NCIS has nothing better to do than perpetrate a witch hunt against a woman they disapprove of.

Are you kidding me? I’m only two episodes in and it already feels like they’re accusing this woman of murder because of her “loose morals.” Allowing a military investigator to suggest she was “acting out” while her husband was away because he wasn’t there to “enforce the rules”. Ridiculous! Please start talking evidence. If this is the direction the podcast is going to take, it seriously undermines its credibility. It comes across as agreeing with investigators who seem more focused on judging her character than presenting actual proof. I’d like to hear Josh M question their reasoning rather than leaning in on the same type of questioning. Who cares if she had affairs— connect her to the poisoning!
