Great conversation.

Touré is a great interviewer with people who he sees himself similar to, especially if they’re Black men. Those are the interviews that he really SEES who the other is and asks really great questions. But the most recent interview with Durand Bernar continually circling back to his sexuality like a sheltered adolescent who’d never met a queer man was exhausting. I observed a similar interview style when he talks to women. Sadly, it stays superficial. He’s been in the game too long to be this selectively shallow.

Love the conversations with Toure’! Would like him to not over talk guests—doesn’t happen every time, but enough to be noticed.

The gentleman had a license that was initially suspended because of child support payments not made. Turns out that suspension was reversed, but the system didn’t correctly reflect his license was valid. You said he didn’t have a license, that was incorrect. People who watched you and didn’t know, would think here go black people again.

the KL vs Drake episode is my absoulute fave. I heard Toure on another podcast... and I had to come and find the extended version because I knew it went way deeper. I try to always think critically. I so appreciate the deep dive and the unpacking.

This conversation is long overdue. Mr. Blow surgically presented SOME of the reasons to rethink our financial, social, political, mental and quality of life power we must attend to NOW. Ugh I wish this could’ve lasted longer but I’ll take the gift. Well done!

I loved the conversation with B Jones & M Holley! Thank you so much and though im late to knowing this podcast exist, I’ve spent this last weekend catching up! As a 48yr old West coast kid, I heard LL, KRS-1, Kool G rap, Dana Dane… So I’m that old…Raised on Lyrical geniuses and y’all brought me back…Have you heard J Cole rhyme and do you think he has that 90s flow… Biggie cadence? LOX all day…I know I said West coast, but I’m a hip hop who’s here for the lyrics, and KRS-1 will always be my #1, Jay-z, 3 stacks, Em & PAC… it’s definitely emotional and where I was when I heard them or how they paint a picture…Kiss, Cole, TI, Ludacris Big Daddy Kane…. I also think JayZ word play in American Gangster is some of his best work! A special shout out to the discussion with Dr Dyson… wow! Keep being great, and I will keep listening and letting my people out there know this is a must listen podcast ✌🏾

The 50 Years of Hip-Hop episode with Bo & Mike; was one of the best conversations on the topic I have heard in a long time—a mature and honest perspective. Keep up the exciting guests and outstanding interviews.

The conversation with Bomani and Mike was incredible. I enjoyed every second of it. Left out of the conversation was the seminal group UTFO. Hearing Roxanne was the “I’m in love with hip hop” moment for me. MF DOOM is also underrated and gone too soon.

Witty and timely. One of my fave podcasts. I feel seen, heard, and informed.

I had no idea Toure was this brilliant and dynamic as an interviewer/journalist/author. He is blessed. And I am obsessed with this absolutely wonderful podcast. The spectrum of topics discussed are so interesting and relevant. I get comfortable and turn into a fly on the wall while listening. I love this podcast! Bring it Toure...bring it!

Loving the interviews with the Purple Posse! I’ve learned more about His Royal Badness from these conversations than any other media.

I, like you am a big Prince fan! More so after his transition. So I am catching up. This interview has the potential of being the best of all times, however, Susannah speaks quietly. It appears her normal voice is soft and then at times she would whisper. Was hard to listen. By contrast, your voice booms! A lot of bass. But I wanted to hear her. So if you could remaster and beef up her voice I’d appreciate it. I looked at Purple Rain a couple times this weekend to remind myself of what she looks like (Wendy-the twin). Thanks Toure!

Even thought I just raved about this podcast I had to write one more review to acknowledge the amazing interview this week between Toure and Eddie Glaude. Dr Glaude is a great thinker and author, and it was a joy to listen to 2 such insightful people in conversation about James Baldwin, the current election, and the way forward.

Today I re listened to his interview with Joy Reid. Fantastic interview. My most favorite TV news host at MSNBC. Intellectually superior, a renowned author and incredibly personable. I know all these adjectives are sometimes ignored, but she's deserving of all and more. I hope Touré interviews her again now that she's landed the coveted 7PM anchor job. (BTW I've been known to tweet a lot about her getting this vacant hour)I can't wait!

This is a supreme pod cast by someone who could not be a more eloquent speaker and source of sought out intelligence in today’s world.

Unfortunately, it’s a no for me. I did enjoy your content, but more and more is becoming Patreon content. I get it, it’s another revenue stream, but having 90% exclusively Patreon content for a podcast is.... well... I’m out. ✌🏾

The absolute best interview. Thorough. Sincere. Funny and informative. Not only does Toure understand how to talk. More importantly he knows how to LISTEN. I was captivated by this account of The Life (& near death) and how intricately the twists and turns came along during this long conversation. Hated to hear it come to a close. I love the double dollies in Spike Lee Movies. It’s his signature on his work. I’m not sure why you think his fans don’t like that. But I didn’t like how hard you were pushing him to change. It’s like someone telling you that you should cut your hair. Your look is your signature. It’s why I choose to listen to your interview with Spike Lee. So let Spike Lee do his work. Leave your edits out of it.

I absolutely love this podcast! It’s one thing to have a verity of guest and get them to open up, but the interview is a whole different interview when the host legit knows the guest’s agenda (art, beliefs, etc.). Seems like we’re listening to their conversation, not that Toure’ is asking questions that he thinks the listeners want to know the answers to. Thank you, Toure’!

I’m not that person who’s up on the latest podcasts and I just happened to stumble across this one by chance. I’m a lifelong Prince fan so anything Touré does I’m checking it out. This show has amazing guests and I absolutely love his interview style. Listen. To. This. Show. Now. !!!

Just listened to the Mark Ronson episode and enjoyed it so much. The comfort between you two made it feel like eavesdropping on an intimate conversation that was real, honest and insightful. Thank you.

One thing I enjoy most about Toure’ is his ability to bring out stories from his guests that I’d never heard before. Knowledge is power.

Touré is my favorite writer/interviewer. He never ceases to feature prominent people in the black community whose stories don’t frequently get told in Black safe spaces. Touré invites you in with questions about his guest’s backgrounds, their set backs, and how their path has shaped who they are now. I also love that Touré is not biased to guests in the LGBTQ community, and choosing to highlight people doing real work in the community and entertainment industry! 💕🙌🏽

Toure Show is entertaining, informative and inspirational. Two of the most entertaining and best episodes I’ve listened to are Andre Leon Tally and Shangela. The interviews with Prince’s protege and ex girlfriend were really good.

I'm only two shows in but I'm a huge fan. Can't wait to hear the rest. Great job!!
