Great show with too many ads
Love the hosts and the format of the show. There are far too many ads though and the ones that have staffer review their experience with a product or service are like nails on a chalkboard. That said, the person who inserts sound bites into the show is a genius. I laughed out loud at the Biden “c’mon” bits, weird Kanye Gold Digger grunts and several others.

Entertaining and Transparent
This show holds my ADHD attention span (no small feat) while exploring topics from multiple angles and doing a fairly deep dive in a short amount of time. Props to the producers and hosts!

Love the tone of this podcast
I listen for the reporting snf information, but I also appreciate the upbeat tone of this podcast and the sound effects. I think they are clever and entertaining. There are podcasts where the sound effects make them difficult to listen to, but this is not one of them.

Too many sounds clips
Sounds like I’m listening to someone scroll through different tictoc reels. The number of cuts to sound effects and audio is distracting and makes all the content feel…. Dumber.

Reporting I can actually trust
Love the hosts, love that I can trust the reporting and it’s not the default pro Israel agenda. Helped me dump the New York Times

Supporting AI is Egregious
Unsubscribed. Very disappointed in this podcast for a LOT of different reasons. They recently turned off commenting on their Spotify account because so many people have been speaking up about how bad the podcast’s gotten. I guess they want to sweep it under the rug. Cowards. Supporting AI in their most recent episode, defending it bc they’re affiliated w/AI companies - when in reality AI is highly unethical, destroying our planet, stealing artists work & our jobs, ruining people’s sense of reality, circulating false & damaging information, & more. Also, Sean laughing at people being deported in a previous episode was another nail in the coffin for this podcast, IMO. What in the actual f happened to this podcast? What a downfall. Very sad & frustrating to witness.

Trump has an Epstein Problem
I wasn’t expecting an opinion piece. That’s not reporting. I won’t follow this podcast anymore.
The 7 is a 10
Sound Effects Not Funny
Sound guy is about 40% as funny as he thinks he is. Dial back the drops or I won’t renew. This is a threat.

Captured by AI
While some of their reporting about non-AI topics is still quite good, when they disclose that they receive funding from ChatGPT, what they really mean is that they're trying to sell it to you. Every episode I've heard of theirs about AI is a glorified ad and it's eroded my trust of their journalism.

More Balanced Than Most
I truly appreciate this podcast for the way it explores both sides of issues and look at stories from multiple angles. something that has truly been lost in the majority of media these days.

Otherwise Good Show, but Vocal Intonations are Huge Distraction
Why are so many podcast hosts using the loud vocal intonations during interviews like The Daily? I mostly stopped listening to The Daily because all the hosts use it, and started listening to Today, Explained. I like the show but now those same “hmmm!” Intonations are regularly used here and it is such a distraction. Please, please try not to do this or edit them out (or at least reduce the volume of them). When listening with earbuds it feels like someone screaming “the most annoying sound in the world” randomly in your ear.

Love it, still
I’ve been a listener for years and never left a review. Shame on me. This is a great show to give you a quick explanation of what’s going on in our world, today. Very current, great hosts, well produced sound design. A+

Sound effects
Still enjoy the show but I find myself being more distracted lately by the music and other sound effects competing with people speaking. Intros and outros are fine but letting stuff play and play while I’m trying to follow the speaker is increasingly annoying.

No thanks.

Too political
I was interested in hearing about the new Tesla Taxis’s and turns out the hosts over due it with their political opinions. Not worth listening to, I could turn on a political podcast if I wanted to listen to politics. 👎

Immigrants
If ICE is using tax returns to find and arrest undocumented immigrants is it also arresting the employers?

Mark Krikorian
Why are you platforming Mark Krikorian? The Center of Immigration Studs was founded by a white nationalist and a eugenicists. He literally runs a white nationalist org and that’s the person you chose to platform? And that interview had no pushback, no follow up, nothing. It took what he said as truth or plausible ideas. What is the goal of this episode?

Stuffs your feed
Apparently these people don’t have enough content of their own. Consequently, new episodes are more often than not some other podcast. Boooooooo!
Gameplayer2727
do better
this is one of my favorite podcasts but today’s episode really failed to meet the moment. the host allowed mr. Krikorian to spew hate with no sources or research to back him up for 10 minutes while the host just said “okay”. where were the follow up questions? why was there no pushback to blatantly untrue statements? do better. you cannot treat both sides as equally correct when one is fueled by hate.

June 8th episode
June 8th episode was so bad on how it’s edited I needed to unfollow this show. Are you trying to provide interesting information or are you trying to make it a tik tok style podcast with random sounds happening as the person talks?
luisluisg
INCLUDE LINKS in the show notes.
Amazing podcast. Educational, fun, and with great pacing. However, they NEVER put LINKS to what they are talking about. For example, they released an episode about Google’s AI, Veo3. The whole episode was about a short film that they made using the technology, but they had no link to the actual short film… This is basic stuff that shouldn’t be missed when publishing.

Usually 5* but today’s analysis of why no one seems to be scared of nuclear war anymore was absurd
Usually this podcast does a great job cramming context and analysis into a short episode but today’s made me say “are you joking?” out loud. The guest was asked to address why many people today don’t see nuclear attacks by foreign adversaries on US ground as as big of a threat as the older generation of politicians, musing that gen X didn’t want to raise a generation of kids as scared as they were, hiding under desks and “always thinking about death.” This is embarrassing analysis for a normally strong show. Millennials DID have to grow up thinking about death, we’ve been having active shooter drills since middle school. Gen Z and younger have been having active shooter drills since preschool. Kids didn’t get to stop “always thinking about death.” They just were forced to face that the real threat is coming from inside the dome.

White male literary fiction
Would love to hear readership addressed. Are more women or men reading today? An increase in readers of color? The episode discussed readership as a zero sum game which it is not.

The blatant vicious misogyny of the conversation around the football coach & his girlfriend - even from lefty NYT types - has been driving me up the wall. 5 stars for taking this on!!!

“All eyes on Gaza” blinded on truth
Your recent coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict is not merely misleading—it is a disturbing exercise in selective storytelling that betrays both your readers and your mission. What you have presented to as “news” is, in fact, a heavily biased, incomplete, and politically slanted narrative that omits crucial facts and context. By downplaying that Hamas still holds hostages, you silence the suffering and brutal murder of the Bibas family, whose children were strangled by Hamas in captivity [1]. You ignore that Hamas has admitted a significant proportion of the casualties in Gaza are fighters, not civilians [2]. You make no mention of the over $1 billion in international aid received by Hamas over the years, or its proven redirection into the creation of terror tunnels and weapons—rather than shelters or civil protection infrastructure [3]. Did you even once address the fact that Hamas has stolen much of the aid destined for the Palestinian people and then forced them to pay for this aid on the open market? These omissions are not innocent—they are deliberate and misleading. Your failure to provide basic context such as your promotion of the widely debunked claim that famine is occurring in Gaza. Even The Guardian and UN sources now clarify that while food insecurity is a concern, famine conditions have not been confirmed [4]. Finally, you fail to address the fact that many hostages were held in civilian homes, blurring the distinction between civilians and combatants. Failing to include this reality undermines your credibility and inflames misunderstanding [5]. You owe your listeners a retraction and an apology. Journalism is not about hiding complexity. It’s about confronting it honestly.

Great Show!
This is probably my favorite podcast. I love everything about it. Especially the music. All the themes are really well done. I love the synth sound. It’s actually quite inspiring. I’m also a synth and history enthusiast so your show brings me much joy everyday. Truth and Soul! Keep up the great work.

Great podcast
Host handled the incessant whining of Ross Barken (recent guest) well. Don’t stress if you can’t muster pity for him, he showers himself with enough for us all. But she’s always great.
Amber Attkins
Interesting but overproduced
The content is always interesting and informative on this show. But it’s so overproduced. The show over uses sound effects and music to the point that it’s annoying.

All lies
Listen is you like being lied to and brainwashed

Bias reporting
The report is left leaning and only focuses on the bright side of the democrats. They have never reported on a positive story about the republicans. I am going to stick with breaking points since they don’t try to hide their political views

Great!
Great small bites for people who are burnt out with modern media. Please, please, please, please make the “Oops, I’m regretting my vote” episode reoccurring!!!

Turned off black woman, Trump voter
At the end of the day at the end of that podcast, ultimately left me just hardened and feeling negative about the lady at the end of it all decides not to vote. All of a sudden there’s no good outcome. The only thing good is that you made aware that Black people tend not to vote how do we get Black people to vote? Should be your next Podcast thank you.

Cut the background effects!
I would love to love your podcasts and I certainly would except for the background noise, you might think it’s cool but no, it’s very distracting and annoying, especially for the hard of hearing. Please at least tone it down if you can’t stop it altogether, for the sake of clear communication. Thank you for your consideration.

Excellence in Explanation
I have been a long time listener, but the episode interview Love on the Spectrum cast members in response to RFK’s recent statements made me come to reviews to express how wonderful this episode and reporting of this show is. It is so important to include members of a community that’s involved in a public event as part of the conversation. Journalism is here to provide us information and make informed decisions, including all points of view - this episode proves the care and passion Vox has to deliver its listeners top quality reporting. Bravo!

I love the reporting and the tone and nuance of this show. but we are inundated from all media outlets with coverage of 45/47. is there a way to cover his latest impacts while also giving voice to other important news?

It’s Today!
Please don’t change the format of the show, Today Explained is great! I’m sure explain it to me is whatever but it’s got to be Today, these guys are the best.

Shell of its former self
This podcast used to be good. Recently, the “journalism” presented feels like something I could have learned by typing a prompt into ChatGPT. The real estate episode was the last straw for me. It was 30 minutes of blabbering and no substance. It felt like they used AI to write an outline of this episode and then had on some random coworkers talk to fill space.

Housing
Always worth a listen, even if I don’t always agree. On the house question, would have been interested to hear about how people feel about paying rent without gaining “value” for their alternative investment.

Usually Love, lacking depth recently
Maybe its because I just listened to the Diabolical Lies episode on hooters, but to discuss this hooters bankruptcy without mentioning the private equity take over is just a boring cultural take on the financial realities of this country. The only reason Hooters is going bankrupt is because it was looted and sold for parts.

What is going on?
I’ve been listening for years and I love the show. My real rating is 5 stars, but gave a one because I want to make sure someone over there reads this. What is going on?? Our world is literally falling apart around us and your’re laughing during a show on mass deportations? The dumbest humans in the world are discussing top secret war plans over encrypted messages via their personal phones and you talk about the etiquette of texting??? You are taking serious topics, finding the least offensive, least pertinent, least impactful aspects and focusing your whole show on that. You aren’t explaining anything important. I want you to explain today. What is going on??? It feels like you’ve been infiltrated. You appease the libs by making your title hit the big buzzwords and then you play a 20 minute show about nothing which I have to assume appeases someone high up in your food chain. You are serving water. And you don’t take it seriously- You literally laugh. It’s weird for you to laugh. This is not funny. We are scared. We turn to you for news so that we know whats going on so we can prepare and be informed. And you have abandoned us. I don’t think I can trust vox as a trustworthy news source anymore. Rip.

Came here from decoder to say your advertising model is alienating potential listeners.

Maybe I picked the wrong episode
Today I heard about 5 minutes of this show on my local public radio station. I was interested in the topic (how to protect yourself and your devices when searched or detained) but couldn’t understand the jokey attitude of the host. People are literally being disappeared, and it is terrifying. Think I’ll pass on listening any more to this one.

Background music
The new sound effects really distract from the content because it’s too busy and too loud. I really liked this show but it’s getting harder to keep listening.
