I am so pleased with the quality conversations, topics, guests and all around breadth of intelligent discourse of the Weekly Show. I use it for my educational purposes- I feel like I get broad views that I can be confident of my opinions!

I use to listen to Jon and he and his writers were entertaining. But since he has had to lean on his insights and knowledge you can tell he isn’t very intelligent or funny. There are a lot better podcasts out there with more talented hosts.

First you mocked and degraded people wearing masks at a time when the hospital I work for, Johns Hopkins, had just reinstated masking mandates in patient areas due to surging flu and covid as well as measles. The ableist position was shocking coming from you. And then, you mocked Iran for bombing USA sites around the levant as if this aggression is a joke itself. You reduced this horrible violence to a joke making Iran the only dummy. This was after the USA doubled tapped a girls school in Iran murdering more than 160 children. Are you just man in the high castle now? I attended the Rally For Sanity in DC. Long time fan, but no longer. Not that you’ll care or read this.

I came for the news, having never watched any of Jon Stewart’s work, and this thing is not only informative, but I was not ready for the comedy. Stewart’s hilarious. Bitingly sarcastic, poignantly self-deprecating, and cloyingly sentimental. My only concern is the thumbnail. Can we please lover to see what Jon’s freaking impression is??! I can’t take the tease of the nostril flare any more.

While I mostly appreciate the weekly show, I’m disappointed in the recent lack of commentary about the Jeffery Epstein and the files.

Informative some of the time but need to shorten the pod. 90 minutes is way to long listening to Jon Stewart talk about anything. He interrupts guests and just rattles on.

Jon’s interview with the non-economist Chief Economist of the American Compass think tank is a good example of Jon working without a net in a domain he does not really understand. Oren Cass’ role as a contributor to Project 2025 is to put a smiley face on the blueprint to tear down our system of government. The fact that Cass does not understand economics (proudly proclaiming he is a supply-sider) is unimportant. The fact that Jon doesn’t is podcast tragedy.

Love the podcast but when you have a guest on with credentials please let them make their point then feel free to summarize. The interruptions make it hard to follow. When your guest says ‘allow me to make these points…’. Let them do so! Thanks very much!

Mapbox - a smaller tech company - powers the palantir maps that ice is using to track and locate migrants. Tell Mapbox to stop funding ICE maps. Mapbox - whose origins began in working with NGOs and used to highlight their work supporting election mapping in Afghanistan (I know problematic.. still but think of this with an early 00 mindset) - now instead of dropping Palantir for violating their TOS, are instead choosing to change their legal terms to “follow the law”. We should call out every single tech company who are putting shareholder profits over the country. Shame - shame on palantir and shame on Mapbox. Shame.

I would give this 5 stars but the audio is sometimes hard to hear Jon as he tends to lower his voice (almost mumbles) and if I don’t have the text on the screen I miss his point or what he is saying and have to rewind and raise volume. If you all could modulate his voice so it is a steady level and we could hear everything he says with out rewinding 3-4 times to catch it that would move you to 5 stars :)

Trump and Trumpies believe themselves to be superior to everyone else. Trumpies are white supremacists, racists and also very wealthy people who consider everyone else to be their slaves. There’s no concept of ‘country’ for them. NONE of them should have any political power in any government whatsoever!

Boo to the Jon Favreau guest pod episode where Jon Stewart makes fun of people with disabilities, using devices to clean the air. Respirators are literal lifesavers for immunocompromised people, and anybody who doesn’t want to get sick. Anybody who can’t get their newborn sick, their grandparent sick, their spouse sick. Anybody who doesn’t want their vacation ruined by shared illnesses. For someone who spent a life advocating for respiratory health of first responders, coming out against respiratory health is a cowardly policy change. Respirators on hand would’ve saved lives in 9/11 responders. P100s and N95s work, and you’re mocking the people wearing them to not share illness. It’s shaming people for doing a mitzvah. Their community care to not spread illness to others, to not get anybody sick, is a choice made in love for others. Even if they get mocked by jerkoff podcasters.

The 12/4 podcast on History v heritage. Mentioned nativism, free land and who gets to be an American plus citizenship several time during this episode. I’m 41 minutes in now and waiting for someone to even acknowledge the existence of native Americans, their land, their citizenship, anything of them in history or the founding. In the new year, please consider critical or skeptical voices on “AI” hype, and not just those who are terrified or enthralled. Check out the brilliant work of Karen Hao, Timnit Gebru, Brian Merchant, and Adam Becker, and consider talking with and learning from them.

The best podcasts and podcasters are the ones where I end up in tears. That happened at the end of having Tim and Jon review 2025. I started just being pretty numb. My thoughts about Trump were that he’s boring and dangerous and I just don’t want to listen to podcasters talk about him because it almost seems exploitative at this point: if nothing changes,nothing changes. But you wove your unique magic around the conversation, Tim and Jon became more alive and so did I. When I cry about what’s happening, I know I’m facing things, and not just numb. I’m afraid things will get so much worse bc I’m intimate familiar with the personality disorders Trump operates out of; Trump is on a trajectory and always has been, to destroy himself and as many people and systems he can. To be able to face this and not get numb and check out at this point takes people like you John, and Tim , Jon, Jimmy, and many others who touch my heart and bring tears from deep inside. Thank you.

Back when Jon was still doing The Daily Show full time, surveys said (you gotta do that in Richard Dawson voce) regular watchers of The Daily Show were better informed than viewers of Fox News or CNN. Now it’s fair to note that people who watched nothing AT ALL were generally better informed than those whose news was exclusively Fox News, but the thing to keep in mind here is that The Daily Show is A COMEDY SHOW. And Jon left it in good hands, but I’ve always wanted to see him back in the ring. Enter Don Snorleone, and my wish is granted! Five Stars, friends for life!

I am not a night owl and never saw Jon Stewart on the Daily Show. This podcast has been a revelation. Laugh out loud humor and political insight. Now, I await each new episode of The Weekly Show.

You have mostly good takes on here – but it’s jarring to get an ad in the middle of an episode for Meta?? Idk how you can critique the billionaire class and tech oligarchs and then play ads right back to us from them in the same episode.

I thoroughly enjoy this podcast! Jon is an excellent host. He asks relevant and intelligent questions, he never interrupts the guest or talks over them. This is a really good quality for a host! There are podcasts that I no longer listen to because the host did interrupt, I found it very annoying and rude. Thank you for all the work and thought you put in to this podcast, it makes a difference!

Just listened to the Lina Khan episode. What an impressive woman. Her intelligence, knowledge, and more importantly her empathy is “off the charts”. I can see now why there was some negative sentiment towards her from the Trump administration; pushing back against entrenched corporate interests and trying to put the public’s interest ahead of corporate and oligarchs interests upset the apple cart. Sadly, her ideas are exactly what is needed to address many of the issues the country is facing today. And just want to say Jon, I am a huge fan and am so grateful for all you do!
