I wish Andy would stop complaining all the time about everything. Please just stick to the topics. Chris puts his complaints about politics or the Warner Bros. merger into some context but Andy blathers on any chance he can get and it’s getting worse. Poor Andy even complained several times about recording on MLK day. Enough, please.

Both hosts are smart in their own way and obviously know a great deal about TV, film and the entertainment industry and pop culture in general. That being said, I always skip through the first few minutes because I know it's just gonna be a bunch of bro-ey backslapping and "good old days" barstool talk mostly centering around Philadelphia sports teams --which is probably my least favorite subject in the world. Long way of saying that the editor of the show needs to spend another half hour to 45 minutes at work at the end of the day cutting out all of that stuff, which IMHO would make the show much, much more listenable.

More Phillies talk and book reviews. Or create a podcast where you guys focus on those two things. I can listen to you guys talk about anything. I think Landman is MAGA trash but have listened to every second of you guys talking about it!

I’ve loved this podcast for a very long time but as the years go on it’s evident that Andy doesn’t actually “Watch” new shows or movies. Chris is great on the watch and big picture. I wish Andy would do the pop culture homework and talk less about Marvel.

Landman is a fantastic show no matter what these they/them morons say. Useless podcast.

Hearing Andy try not to be homophobic by saying he’s not into Heated Rivalry because he doesn’t care about hockey, as if you even see a single hockey game in the show, was the final nail in the coffin for him on top of his involvement in Harry Potter. I prefer hearing Chris with guests or on the big pic.

I’m 23 years old and Tv shows are lame

I like hearing people talk about shows but it irritates the heck out of me to hear people on these shows admit they didn’t watch the show or the season or heard this or that about it. Talk about what you’ve seen and if you haven’t seen it - freakin watch it before you do the episode.

A fan of the show, but either it jumped the shark this week or CR just needs to cut back on podding. They literally had 2 conversations about John’s vs Rita’s water ice in which CR is very much interested in hearing a take on black cherry but inconsistent about chocolate water ice and Andy is lauds a brand that doesn’t even have a regional reputation. (One in the ep previewing ep1 of Task, one reviewing it.)

but, Andy, PLEASE stop interrupting. Cracking jokes and cutting Chris off when he is mid sentence is infuriating. If he tries to interject, you steamroll right over him. Chris may not mind, but your listeners do. Stop being that guy.

Been listening to the guys for a while and mostly enjoy their opinions. I’ve learned about many new shows that I would not have otherwise watched. But Eastern Gate is better than Alien: Earth?? That is a take that I never thought I would hear.

I always loved reading the Sports Guy and started tuning into Andy and Chris when they did After the Thrones on HBO and then Talk the Thrones later. I initially thought I just loved their GoT commentary, but when I got into The Watch, I realized how much I appreciate them as critics more generally. At its best, good criticism is a creative art in its own right that enhances audience enjoyment, and that is what these guys’ discussions achieve. They made me think about and appreciate shows like Ripley even more, for example. Plus, they are hilarious - I still giggle when I think about their Twisters episode. I feel like I am listening to my brothers banter back and forth, in the best way, and they can get me interested in entertainment to which I am not at first attracted. I am a ride or die fan.

Chris & Andy are my boys. Love them. Whether it’s my favorite shows or even an amazing book (Lonesome Dove), it’s always so comforting to hear these two discuss what they love. Thank you! You mean a lot to us!

Like other Ringer pods there are way too many ubiquitous, unnecessary sports analogies/references. Just discuss the shows and movies and stop making confusing references to sportsball games etc. Also, I’m around the same age as these hosts and I don’t use vernacular like “sick”. It’s pretty embarrassing for men of our age to use modern slang to seem cool.

The hosts continue to complain about any and all superhero content yet they find some way to talk about it all the time. Why are they devoting a whole pod to Superman? Makes no sense

Season 4, Episode 4, written by Ayo Edebiri, is without a doubt the weakest episode of the series. I am unsubscribing. This feels like when you guys had to apologize for your amazing critique of WandaVision.

I’ve listened on-and-off for over 5 years and finally unsubscribed. Andy has lost the forest for the trees — he watches to nitpick like a ragebaiter. Also — lately his humor has swayed mean, not cute. CR innocent of all crimes. Give him a co-host who actually enjoys watching TV!

I’ve been enjoying thee two for well over a decade. Being born in ‘77, AG and CR discourse is very much in my wheelhouse. Always appreciate their recommendations. Be it shows, movies, books and even pubs. Hitting Bad Brother on my trip to Philadelphia in a few days. Cheers!

Where’s the Top Chef discourse this season

Greenwald’s tone comes off as unbecoming. Ryan continues to be down-to-earth and legitimately funny. Great pair but the world needs a little less grandiosity from G. Listeners are not dazzled.

I’ve listened to Chris and Andy for years, but it’s getting increasingly hard to enjoy the pod with Andy’s black-and-white view of everything. Every smudge on the wall in an episode of Andor delights him to no end, but he has no time for similar detail in other shows. He builds a feeling about a show and is utterly immovable.

Andy has full-on Trump Derangement Syndrome. Pathetic how he goes way out of his way to go on Trump rant that has nothing to do with the shows being discussed. No one listens to this for your political views. Just stick to the shows please (except, of course, True Detective Season 1 - the defining review of his career) because we know he ain’t getting another shot at actually creating one after Briarpatch barely made it to air!

I don’t understand the Andy slander. If you just want to hear internet brain poisoned morons drool over the shows you like, you can listen to literally any other podcast. I don’t have that much free time. Andy’s critical eye is crucial for my enjoyment of television. I don’t ever have to waste my time on something that’s not worth it. Why doesn’t Andy like most shows? Because most shows are bad.

Latest episode April 8 has a strange loop at the end lasting about a minute and then it ends abruptly mid-sentence. What happened?

Have loved the pod over the years but it’s become a tough listen. The constant unfunny political remarks and hating on every show that people like. Elitist negativity. Probably time to replace Andy, the Prestige TV pod is way more fun.

5 stars for the mems. I’ve been listening for years. Recently I have grown so frustrated with the show, as much as I love CR and Andy. As someone who truly loves TV and believes that great shows come out all the time, not just 10 years ago or a couple times per year, the negatively can be really difficult to listen to. I feel like they used to skip over projects that they didn’t really vibe with or just give periodic updates. But speaking so negatively about shows that many people love week after week after week, I don’t understand it.

I’m officially done with this show. Andy made an effort for a couple of weeks to act like he actually enjoys anything but he’s back to fully blown full of himself again. I’ve unsubscribed & will check back sometime down the road to see if Andy has been replaced.

Way too much elitist negativity . Andy should be an occasional guest or replaced entirely. You start to feel like Andy’s therapist because he somehow is able to make a majority of an episode about himself, his whiny champagne-problem complaints, and personal life. He also will find any way to complain about the most superficial, petty things about the best of the best. He ruins everything good and there has to be a dark rain cloud following this poor man . I’m not interested in hearing Andy’s voice at all, so sometimes I try to seek out the parts where I can hear Chris’s great opinions and analysis about the shows. 5 stars to Chris. 0 stars to Andy. Averages out to 2.5 stars. Hard to listen. I won’t be listening again until Andy is no longer on this show.

I hope Andy can do a solo pod about Adolescence. I am equally invested and would love a deep dive. The show blew me away.
