There can only be one. This is it. Everyone else is everyone else and can kick rocks. Matt is the best investigator in hollywood whether you like his brand or not. I do personally but also try to find him on the wrong side of anything ever. That’s pretty rare.

Good stuff but
…but don’t expect revelations. I mean heaven forbid the UTA guy actually tell the audience what kind of comp to expect for a book option.

Engaging even for a skeptic
95% of what the show covers is cultural garbage, but it's garbage that makes the world go round so the podcast is a good way to keep from being completely out of touch. One small favor: please don't call celebrities by their first names; my tooth enamel can't take any more of "Timmy."

Love the show!
Thought the Sony head episode was going to be ok, but what a great episode!! Revelation of Seth Rogen character on The Studio was pretty amazing

Good
I really love this show but Matt, come up for air once in a while. Too much having a guest on to talk about Disney and then cutting them off to tell them how wrong they are about Dana Walden’s priorities for the next few years lately. Consistently good pov’s and insights, just try to take it easy

My favorite entertainment podcast
Matt is a pretty great host. I appreciate when he calls out terms and things that the average Joe might not know. He can get pretty enthusiastic and cut off the guests at times but I think he’s done a better job at reeling that in. The variety of guests and topics keeps this podcast from feeling stale like most other podcasts.

Stop interrupting!
Matt, dude, you gotta stop interrupting your guests.

Solid but could be great
This is a super solid podcast but sometimes Belloni can be a little overwhelming and take up a lot of the oxygen in conversations.
Just a nobody listener
Belloni needs to go.
I know he is a founder of this but damn, Belloni is insufferable to listen to. He’s so negative, talks over people, and just detracts from what should be interesting and entertaining at the same time.
DERO27
Terrible host
Keeps talking over guests and he’s extremely politically opinionated

Insane and Untrue Commentary
KIMMEL WAS TAKEN OFF FOR LYING. It was not a joke - he lied about Kirk’s assassin. Read the room? People don’t pile on when someone dies? Did you even pay attention at all to what was going on with your Democrat party when Charlie Kirk was assassinated? Your lack of self-awareness is stunning not to mention your hypocrisy. Leave the politics at the door whenever you’re this uninformed. Trump’s tweet was nothing compared to the left’s celebration over Kirk. Also, we are already seeing the payoffs of the tariffs, Lucas, showing again you Gus know nothing about economics or politics.

Insufferable
Its amazing someone can be so arrogant and so uninformed at the same time. The podcast is basically just a guy parroting corporate talking points. But if you ignore the casual bigotry and corporate shilling, it’s still just a bad listen. The guy is arrogant and has no insights. The reason for two stars and not one is the producer Craig who gives a masterclass in humoring rich blowhards who don’t know as much as you.

Oscars to YouTube
Matt, I think your boys Lucas and Craig are right on this one. The Oscars going to YT doesn't feel cheap, just smart. I know more than a few geezers (60+ and up) who are YT TV savvy already and not just because they have kids. It's a more economical and practical streaming option for many on a fixed income. And offers a lot more than just shorts and kid stuff. Maybe don't presume so much that age precludes ability and knowledge when it comes to tech.

Sinnerman!
Amusing and informative weekly listen. Started listening in April 2025 on the episode about Sinners. Matt’s perspective was a revelation, and did not age well, but revisionist history aside, I enjoy the courage of the conversation. More Franklin Leonard!

Not a journalist
Mr. Bellini is not a journalist; he is a bitter opinion host. He seems more concerned about receiving complaint calls from Studio PR reps, and ensuring he gets invited to all the Hollywood premieres, parties, and festivals. It’s evident that he wanted to work in Hollywood but couldn't make it. Listening to his interview with Rotten Tomatoes was quite embarrassing. He needs to move on; no one cares about his biased and sycophantic reviews. The disrespect he displayed during the interview only highlighted his deep insecurities. Having failed to succeed in the industry, he is relegated to writing about those who have.

Integrity in Journalism
Unnecessarily hostile
Matt Belloni is one of the most obnoxious hosts I’ve ever had the misfortune of listening to. Just listen to his interview on Apple TV and how he continues to shout at the guest for no logical reason. You can be a hostile interviewer and still show decorum - not shouting every 5 seconds and refusing to let the guest speak. This will be the last episode I listen to.

Ari on Trump
Love show…but how dumb to encourage a leader who renames a department the department of WAR. Then uses the national guard to Terrorize US cities. Please ask Ari about that and PEACE!! Pathetic

Why does Matt hate women?
It’s so consistent that it’s weird. Such a shame.

Streaming and viewer privacy
A great convo on the 09.26.2025 episode with Scott Purdy about trends in producer and distributor models - and Purdy provides good summary with respect to data insights on what’s possible from interrogating the data, and what’s “holy grail”, and also hints at where the corporates should not go with data collection, analysis, and sharing. This is a huge point always overlooked in this show which - mostly - follows the money. Fair enough. Belloni’s point about Netflix making it clear they DON’T have granular detail about its viewers was a really good thing to highlight here - so many miss the point that this is ONE of the key features that keeps Netflix a trusted brand by MANY viewer types - that! (privacy has VALUE, especially in a surveillance state of Big Tech and Big Banks) … and that Netflix can rely on subscriber annuities and NOT advertising which means viewers don’t have to worry about specifics of their profile being shared … maybe they won’t make every $ they could. But the value of a trusted brand is also worth quite a bit.

Why
I truly thought this was an entertainment podcast until today’s show . The only thing good about it was Lucas. Yesterday I felt Matt was a professional and then today happened. There is a place for swearing, but if you want to defend a side try to do better please.

Baloney Belloni
I’ve enjoyed the show for the last 2 years greatly. Even when I thought Belloni was a little cold in some interviews, but wow! It’s nuts to me that he went harder against the rep for Rotten Tomatoes and their rating system than he did against Trump’s crackdown on Jimmy Kimmel.

Enjoyable but…
I really enjoy this show, especially when Lucas Shaw is the guest on Monday because he can keep Matt in check. Matt can be a bit exhausting sometimes, but overall I find him pretty insightful and entertaining, and he seems like a good guy. I think his recent convo regarding Rotten Tomatoes made him sound a bit like a petulant child, which made it really easy for the guest demolish him. You know you don’t have a real case if your claim is that Amanda Dobbins from the Big Picture is a reputable critic (seriously?!) Additionally, I’ll never get over the fact that he didn’t stop his guest from using the wrong pronouns a couple of years ago, letting her keep referring to Ezra as “him” or “guy” when a simple reminder (or re-record) would have rectified the issue. Very lazy and careless. Like it’s not complicated stuff. So overall enjoyable, with some caveats.

Please please please have Jacqueline Coley back on. What a great discussion on Rotten Tomatoes and criticism!

Matt’s legal background, wit and tenacity make him a fierce and worthy interviewer in a podcast farm saturated with non-data driven opinion and benign questions (lobs).

ADS over the top of content
I’ve had it. Ads run now right on top of content and you miss chunks of conversation - It’s unlistenable now. You can’t tell me this can’t be fixed - but it airs like this with no refer for the listener who is the customer

Stop Repeating
If Matt is able to go two weeks without saying the word “Paramount”, I’ll eat my own foot. Love the show. Seth Rogen via The Studio got me here, btw.

Not loathsome!
Matt, Lucas and Craig are terrific. Love their interactions and contests. Keep up the great work.

Too cynical
The world weary tone of the host - and guests like the New York Times entertainment reporter recently - is tiresome.
Joe's View
Loathsome but essential?
It's a five star podcast because of its reach, its access to guests, and Matt's somewhat unpredictable interview style. He does say the quiet thing out loud a lot. BUT Matt, Lucas and Craig are inherently unlikable characters, and for all of Matt's frankness, he will frequently drift into overt insult "comedy," laughing at his own terrible "jokes." An example of this is his obnoxious interview with the CBS entertainment president Amy R. a few months ago. She was incredibly patient and graceful in the face of Matt's foolhardy "joke"-telling. His delivery sounds like he has a meatball stuck in his throat! Lucas is not a memorable writer and commentator, and it's been years since he broke an important story. He reminds me of the slippery "Nathan Thurm" character Martin Short played on SNL back in the day. Not a trustworthy figure the way Kim Masters is. Craig seems like the typical air-headed Bill Simmons acolyte you see pop up on a lot of Ringer shows. What is this unremarkable guy bringing to the table beyond his demographic? Put a better-educated, attractive young woman in this job and maybe Matt and Lucas will up their game? Great show, five stars, never miss an episode.

Taylor was NEVER given the opportunity to write a check and match the Braun’s original offer. Braun was on social media posting he owned Taylor after the original sale…. We all saw it. Shocker -dudes carelessly talk about women trying to get control of HER OWN art! Unlike other artists Taylor wrote the songs, planned the fan engagements, plans the videos, etc and am so glad that Taylor owns her art!!

Juicy Pod
Love this and it’s so insightful and simplified for a moron like myself.
Bokorface
Way too adversarial
Instead of having a conversation and learning from his guests which I presume is why he invites them on the show, Matt argues with them and acts like he knows more than they do. This is not a courtroom, this is not investigative journalism. There might be some interviews where you need to ask a tough question. But this podcast is all about Matt. I like the call sheets but the rest is getting hard to listen to.

YouTube Eats Hollywood
WARNING: Focus the conversation on YouTube impact and response now or face accelerating TV and movie viewership loss. I am astonished that this podcast is one of the only real Hollywood business podcasts, and yet you STILL DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOUTUBE IS SUCKING UP EVERY MARGINAL HOUR AND THIS IS AN EMERGENCY FOR HOLLYWOOD'S BUSINESS MODEL. I know you are scared to over-talk it, but guys it's this giant tidal wave now visible from Century City. YouTube is terrifying.

The one-and-only Hollywood podcast
Matt & Craig do such a great job — the topics are timely, relevant, and interesting. The guests are a 360-degree, top-to-bottom ‘Who’s Who’ of their industry — which is completely different from what every other Hollywood podcast does (i.e., interviews with actors, and/or the host’s opinions on content). And importantly, the shows cover the day’s topic efficiently, and in a reasonable amount of time. As a podcaster, Matt is like the #1 bartender in L.A., who has come up with the recipe for the perfect Hollywood Cocktail. Five stars, gentleman…and kudos to The Podfather Bill Simmons — who once again proves, by introducing Matt to the national audience, what a good eye for talent he has. It’s a credit to Matt, that he has this in common with Lakers star Luka Doncic: Bill Simmons saw the talent and potential of both Luka & Matt, long before they became what they are today. Yeah, that’s right: I just compared Matt Bellami to Luka Doncic. (I only was introduced to “The Town,” because it popped up on The Ringer. Now I never miss an episode, and will discuss & forward to friends in the business in CA, and my brother who works in the video game industry.) Keep up the good work!

Insightful but Undermined by Bias
I’ve enjoyed listening to The Town for its interesting perspective on the intersection of commerce and art. However, Matt’s repeated derision of several Black celebrities has been increasingly off-putting. Whether it’s unconscious bias or not, it’s noticeable and frankly, disappointing. Unfortunately, this has made the podcast unenjoyable for me, and I’ll no longer be listening.

At least he didn’t interupt
I have to agree with another reviewer..he is snarky and a bit dismissive. In addition to his prickly interview style it was evident he had not done adequate research on the subject the guest was there to talk about. It’s like he just read multiple articles on the topic in the trades. There were multiple times when asking questions, he would say he’s playing devils advocate. He didn’t have to tell us, it was very obvious. When he transitioned into talking about the guest’s 2nd legal case he said ,”Now this one I have an opinion on.” Oh, jeez! Buckle up!

Articulate
Why does everyone have a lisp on this pod? It’s good info but the lack of clear oratory is distracting. The only skill needed on a podcast is a clean, articulate delivery. The guests lisps are even worse. So odd.

Wow
I’ve never heard someone be more snide and self righteous about every topic. This host is painful to listen to and he’s just talking about entertainment news. They need to recast, immediately.
