Loving Women
Please know that I’m not the only white woman who understands that respecting the strengths and gifts of Brown/Black women is our proper role now.
In voting, in choosing who to listen deeply with, and where our resources might best be shared…
So thank you for this show, and your powerfully vulnerable voices.

My sisters!!!
I’m late to this show, but it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G 👏🏾👏🏾. It’s real, informative, and fills my soul. These girls are my sister/ friends.

Disappointed :(
Started listening last year and the episodes abruptly stopped. Reached out to the hosts on IG to make sure all was well and tell them we missed them! Today, I see a new upload and get excited only to click and it’s a random ad/promo type deal. No warming us up- straight to the bag! :/

I’m Hooked!
Late to the game, but as a huge fan of Lorraine Toussaint, I decided to check out Tika and Thai’s interview with her. These ladies knocked it out of the park. First, they used this opportunity to learn from a goddess (my personal opinion of LT) by demonstrating active listening. I tire of hearing podcast hosts butting in every two seconds, but these two showed deference to their guest. Second, they captured the spirit of LT’s message (SO many pearls of wisdom in this episode, not that I’m surprised) by highlighting the major points at the end. Again, many hosts miss the finer points of some fascinating guests. Not these ladies. They were fun and easy to listen to and have added a new listener. I truly felt like I was sitting with all three of these ladies (wish I had been) sipping coffee. Thank you for prividing me with a quality listening experience!

So I feel like I’m late to most parties/trends and listening to podcast for me wasn’t any different. When I finally decided to give podcast a true shot The Suga was my first and chileeeee I haven’t looked back.
This podcast has been my saving grace on a lot of hard days. The ladies give me hope and your guest always reinforce the motivation and encouragement. Thank you for what you ladies are doing. I have shared your podcast with all of the mommies and mommies to be that I know.
We are all in love! Again, thank you and I cannot wait for the day I am a guest on The Suga sharing my tidbits and hacks as a fellow boss mom (attorney and black florist) of two lovely boys.

Love the voice this show provides!
I wish I knew if this podcast when I was pregnant in 2020. I didn’t realize how lonesome I was until now. I’ve always just dealt with whatever and pushed through. Thank you so much.

The Finale of the Season w/Gammie Norris
As always the show is a yummy cup of tea from far away lands, yet the show with The Spice Girl, the Actress from The CHI, & this last episode with Gammie Norris, were all the things for this Monday camp out. So grounding were the shares and exchanges. Listening to her one wants to listen. Her expression makes us listening exhale. So thanks for the show and having her. So bomb. Enjoy the space until next season.

Y’all my big cousins for real!
Hey ladies! Thank you so much for this podcast. Y’all are like the cousins I’m finally grown enough to hang with lol. As a 29-year-old newly wed somewhere between thriving in my career and deciding if I can continue thriving once I start my family, you two inspire me so much! You make motherhood seem like an asset as a working woman and have helped me realize I don’t have to choose.

Refreshing
I love that even though your podcast is about parenting it talks about so much more. It reminds me that it’s okay to have a life outside my children and i always feel motivated to discover myself again after listening to this podcast.

Like Sugar, the Suga is Addictive!
I’m the worst at leaving podcast reviews, but I had to leave a review for this one. The Suga has become my whole jam!!! You know how you sometimes don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone? When the show was on break between the fifth and sixth season I was checking Apple podcasts for an update and clam 👏🏽 or 👏🏽 ing 👏🏽 for my Suga fix!
The show is great because Tika and Thai are so authentic and relatable, and that enables them to have really great, honest conversations that bring the best out of their guests. I always finish each episode feeling validated, inspired, or some combination of the two.
Thank you, Thai and Tika, for creating this space where dope Black women can share their glorious light and where we, the listeners, can bask and recharge in it.

Every single episode is inspired by something deeper than we’re aware of and while listening, it awakens, stirs, blesses and heals us. Thank you...much needed representation
Updated Feb 2022...as a day 1 fan, I've loved this show from the very beginning. But this most recent season has been the best yet! The realness, honesty and wisdom flowed so freely and abundantly. I've cherished every 'mama mantra' and am (not so patiently) awaiting the new season. Thanks Tika and Thai!
Updated Jan 2021...I have missed you ladies, so happy new episodes are coming back soon! This is by far one of my favorite podcasts. As a Black new mama, I really appreciate your honesty, vulnerability, insights, laughter, everything! Love love love episode 1! Jazmyn Simon's honesty and vulnerability in sharing her experience with hyperemesis gravidarum and prenatal depression hit home - I haven't felt so seen and heard during my pregnancy than I did listening to her share her story. I love hearing about the joys, fears, highs and lows of pregnancy, birthing, mommyhood and everything in between from beautiful, smart and talented Black women. So looking forward to more episode. 😊

Chicken soup for mommy’s soul
I started hunting for a black mommy podcast in 2021 when I was going through the thick of my postpartum depression & anxiety because I wasn’t sure about therapy at the time but needed to feel heard & like I wasn’t alone with all of the things I was experiencing. I found this show & it was exactly what I needed. I’ve had so many moments of tears from laughing & tears from balling from something that was said that made me feel like I wasn’t alone. Multiple episodes (especially this Tasha Smith episode) have given me chills & spoke volumes to me in ways nothing else has. I’m a nurse, wife, & first time mom (a Covid mom) & the struggle has been real navigating my new normal. Thank you for making me feel seen, like I’m not crazy, that therapy for black girls is ok, & that I’m not alone. P.S. I’ve went back & listened to all of the episodes. Lol.

Sweet “Suga” Always!!
Ladies, I appreciate you for always sharing sweet “Suga” on real meaningful topics that are right on time. The episode with Christine Michel Carter touched me deeply for many reasons. Being a HR professional and hearing Thai’s story’ on how she influenced changed in her old company’s parental leave policy and how she has been intentional on creating a healthy work environment in her current company has inspired me to be an advocate in improving overall wellness in my workplace.
I’m a mother who has been struggling through this pandemic and unfortunately I became a workaholic while working from home, while also trying to be everything to my family. It’s been so challenging and I reached a breaking point a few months ago when I decided to find me an amazing therapist who has been instrumental in my life. Thanks to you ladies💚. I’m on a mission to taking better care of myself in 2022 and beyond.
Continue to be the love and light that so many of us need right now.
With gratitude and Love,
Althea

This podcast is everything! I get excited to listen to a new episode. Hearing the ladies discuss topics about the intricacies of motherhood, mental health, career etc. has truly helped me navigate my journey as a 1st time mama. Tika and Thai are truly a blessing. This🙌
I felt heard, I felt understood, I felt seen. It is so important to hear these validating facts about motherhood from time to time. We hide behind our ego sometimes “the we got it syndrome”. That’s hard.. so so so hard. And when you work, go to school and run a small business in a pandemic.. 🤯. So happy I downloaded this podcast cast.. between you guys and the black girl bravado podcast.. keeps me so grounded.
Such a gift ladies.. such a gift.

Love this show!!
Ladies, thank you for the laughter, advice, and love you spread for moms across the globe. Stepping into gratitude
Thai, Tika, Thank you.
You’ve crafted a space for women to open our minds inward, listen and learn how to reflect and APPLY such power principles to our lives. As a new mom, I’m exceptionally grateful for your platform. But as a WOMAN, that driver, that innate desire to keep developing, growing, achieving and uncovering more of myself, this space has been absolutely critical. You both and your team are a gift. So glad I found you all during the pandemic. Many blessings to you both as you continue to hold space for us.

Fighting for myself
Hi ladies! My name is Angela. I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you! I found your podcast at the beginning of the pandemic and it has been a God send. Fast forward to now… I had a baby 4 months ago and I have been dealing with postpartum depression. My PPD has taken me to a point of no motivation and pure sadness. I listened to your episode with Cassie and it resonated with me. There was so much I took from that episode and it gave me the push I needed to fight for myself. I am now seeing a therapist, taking “me” time, and asking my husband for more help. As I type this, I am in tears. My tears are full of hope and light. I am giving myself grace and it’s because of you all and Cassie. Just know that your podcast has reached a momma and it has given her the will to fight for herself. I am sending light, love, GRACE, and blessings to you, your families, and everyone involved with your podcast.

Thank you!!
I came to do this review to tell you guys to “NEVER STOP THIS SHOW” lol, but as I started to type I realized that may be a unfair ask since life does come in stages & who knows what god has planned for you two. HOWEVER, I hope that this podcast is a part of the plan for the two of you for a while to come because it has really been a huge part of my healing & I’m sure it has for others too. So many of my thoughts are internalized & intertwined that I found & still do find it hard at times to verbalize them aloud; which of course makes therapy hard to dive into. You all have really help me to find language for the things that I feel & think. There are days that I’m go through it & I come here for healing & literally the very thing that I am going through is what you all are speaking about & it feels like such a spiritual thing. You all are really serving a purpose. This podcast is such a blessing & a necessity. Understanding that you all are human & working through just like us & knowing that I know how hard it can be to stay the coarse at times of how easy it can be to get knocked off course. With that being said I really APPLAUD your consistency in the midst of life’s struggles; to still take time to analyze the things you personally experience & to bring & share them with us in a way that is healing for us all. I love you both & I wish you continued SUCCESS, PEACE, UNDERSTANDING, LOVE, GRACE & Whatever else you need to thrive!

Reclaiming your womanhood
I really enjoyed this episode. I had so many AHA moments that truly resonated with me that I can know say I have an appreciation and understanding for. Knowledge is power. Womanhood and motherhood are two separate hoods (lol). No longer am I a single mother but a single woman with a child.

Refreshing show for black women
There are so many shows out there for black women that talks about “the tea”. As soon as I heard their intro about “sharing the suga” I instantly knew this show was for me. There’s no negativity or bashing of other races but uplifting black women. I am so happy I found this show (pretty sure it was God) because I just ran across it. By far my favorite thing to listen to everyday. Instant mood changer. Thank you ladies for inspiring and uplifting me on a daily basis. Black females are so blessed to have you.

Wow.
I’ve been watching Tika on TV and in movies over the last ten years, so when I caught wind of this podcast I was so excited to listen. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. You two are so easy to listen to and have such a beautiful chemistry. As a first time mom who’s friends are still childless, this podcast has been a Godsend. I often feel every alone, unheard, and unseen in regards to friendship. I look forward to every episode because it feels like a meeting with my “mom friends.” I am so grateful.
What you two are doing is helping so many women in ways you just don’t know. Much love.

Thank you for this show!
I somehow found this podcast on THE day I found out I was pregnant. (Isn’t that God?) It was the same day my husband and I were driving 8 hours to Atlanta to visit friends. I was completely freaked out and completely nauseous, so I laid in the back seat and listened to EVERY episode while my husband drove the entire way. With each episode I felt the tension in my neck and shoulders start to ease up a little more and a little more. Because I wasn’t excited about becoming a mom (and because I felt ashamed of that fact), I didn’t tell anyone I was pregnant for months. During that time, this show provided the support, solace, encouragement, and laughter I needed. I had many fears about becoming a mom, but losing myself topped the list. This show helped me realize I didn’t have to let that happen. My son is now 4 months old. We’re still figuring things out—and I guess we’ll keep doing that for the rest of our lives—but I still feel like a WHOLE person thanks in many ways to the wisdom I’ve gained from this show. THANK YOU THAI AND TIKA. You’ve helped me become a mom, and I am forever grateful.

I have listened to many-a-mommy podcast and this one is a gem, for sure! Ive cried while listening to about 10 episodes by now. I am a 28 year old Mom. I was a triple high risk pregnancy which resulted in me getting my tubes tied. That devastates me, everyday but the episode with Dr. MK made me feel seen, loved on and informed- so much so that I was hopeful about becoming pregnant again and I started to smile at the decision I made, not cry over the regret And shame I fee. Thank you for every single episode. Thank you for just being Moms and sharing that experience with us. When you feel tired or overwhelmed with The Sugar…think of Moms like me. Moms who are just being Moms and so much more.
