Mindy Pelz
I LOVED the Mindy Pelz interview, but felt as thought you rushed her to end it, warning several times that it was almost over. Obviously I was not in the editing room, but for a podcast that has sometimes gone on for hours, I was disappointed and felt she was cut short. She’s got a lot of great information to share, and it is DESPERATELY needed by women. More female-focused content would be GREAT.

Very Political, Pretends Not to Be?
My mom sent me the podcast featuring Jessica Knurick. (I shared Sally Fallon’s book from the 90s with my mom and now she sends me any podcast about how vegetable oil is fine, and I give each of them a listen.) I listened to an hour and a half and I felt that was a plenty fair effort to hear out the points made.
As someone who has a science degree, I was very annoyed at how many times Jessica brings up research/evidence/data in an arm-floaty way. During the hour and a half that I listened to, not a single specific article was referenced to support any of her claims that “the science points to.” This prompted me to look up her background, and I found she has a business undergrad, masters in exercise, and then a 3y PhD in exercise and nutrition. It is fair to use the title that she earned, Dr., but I think she really inflates her STEM association.
When prompted about why many people are skeptical of today’s American medical industry, she says because doctors weren’t on social media. One of the reasons she gives for why vegetable oil isn’t unhealthy is because poor people can’t afford olive oil. She goes further and says there is nothing wrong with vegetable oils and that they are more heart protective than saturated fats, with no sources given.
There was a lot of “I sympathize with these poor, misguided people who are avoiding vegetable oil for no reason,” which I found to be condescending, especially considering the lack of evidence provided for why vegetable oil is fine.
I was hoping for a podcast that cuts through at least some of the noise around health and wellness, and instead this one contributes to it, desperately wanting health to be a red vs. blue issue. Such a shame, I don’t consider myself either red or blue and I think we all should just work together for a healthier future for ourselves and our loved ones.

Going through a very difficult time in my life. I stumbled upon Rich on IG. Man, I feel blessed to have found this podcast. I can honestly say I think this podcast saved my life. I was so close to the end.

Never disappoints
Love this pod. Rich is brilliant and it’s refreshing to hear his deep thinking, original thought, and without trying too hard. Sticking with deep wisdom, long form podcast and not turning this into an informercial, unlike many other shows with commercial after commercial, no original thought…
Love that Rich also throws in AAisms, deep wisdom from the rooms, and more. Really appreciate this pod.
Not so much nutrition content.
Thank you.

Recent Roll On
Thank you for years of great podcasts. I especially enjoy the Roll On eps. However, I was disappointed to hear Adam casually mention someone killing a halibut off their paddle board. I come here for a respite from the normalization of animal cruelty. Fish are animals just like all the others. They have emotions, they feel pain, and they struggle to live. I can’t imagine you would have thought it was so cool if someone had shot a bear cub off their paddle board.

So Great
I appreciate your long form, facilitating deep conversations. Your curation reflects your intellect. You bring us great people sharing complex, rich perspectives. Such an important contribution right now. Bravo!

Thoughtful conversations but way too long
I’ve come and gone from this show. My main issue is the lengthiness of the shows. I wish they were more concise. I put the show in the same category of the Huberman Lab podcast: insightful but long winded.
This is one of many shows that interest me but nearly 2-hour episodes is unrealistic for me. Example, the preamble for the Jessica Knurick interview was 17 minutes! The preamble!

Rich Roll is a leftist propagandist
Just like all leftists, he uses the word misinformation while spreading misinformation. He is a smart man which makes it dishonest and disgusting.

Raised eyebrows while listening as of late…
Your podcast has been go to for years during my walks and bike rides. Excited for the microbiome and women’s health podcasts. Very disappointed at the choice of Tim Spector and Mindy Pelz. Two very opinionated and controversial people in their respected fields. I have been so inspired by many guests and still feel this is a top notch podcast. Women are already restricting calories and undernourished. They do lot need to fast. And Tim Spector is so drastic and speaks from a white privileged researcher intent on making lots of money. And extremely negative in his view people are poisoning themselves by their diets. I do hope Rich gets back on track and avoids the traps of diet and fitness culture .

Love this podcast
I always feel like I
Part of the conversation vs. just listening to people talking. It’s so helpful and meaningful. Thank you Rich!

Longtime listener at 5 stars, now very disappointed
Rich Roll has collected an amazing library of health, wellness and longevity podcasts. Inspiring.
Last podcast on embracing stillness. Really liked this podcast until too much political stance was being rationalized at the end. It’s not that I don’t agree with much of what was said, but several of the comments went to a place of borderline off-contextual agenda pushing.
Seems like this podcast being a safe haven from polarizing politics has been somewhat fractured, and I am afraid the crack will widen with time.
I will take a pause from listening for now. It’s not about political disagreement, but that this podcast went there in the first place.

I wonder when it became the norm to use the word ‘like’ in conversation….over and over and over again….like annoying. Something either is or isn’t. There is no ‘like’. I no longer am a listener due to this over the top speech.

No longer a fan
This is a hard review to write. I have listened to the Rich Roll podcast for a decade and it used to be top of my list of podcasts. Rich Roll is one of the most engaging, meticulous hosts out there. I have learned of so many interesting, thoughtful, inspiring people through his podcast. But in recent years, I’ve found him to be less relatable, and instead, disconnected and pretentious. On an episode of “Roll On,” he declared himself rich, I presume because of all the sponsorships, some of which are appalling. A vegan pitching Birch, a company that uses wool in their mattress construction, is egregious. As disturbing is a recovering alcoholic hawking “non-alcoholic” beer seemingly without regard for the psychological devastation of drug addiction. It’s as if he has sold out to the almighty dollar; I just can’t stomach the hypocrisy.

Racing While Broken
Dear Rich, Thank you for sharing your surgery experience with us! I appreciate your vulnerability as you detailed your journey! This really helps so many people who are dealing with their own “painful road.” We are all trudging, Rich, and I do admire your gentle courage!
I’ve been praying for you for many years, Rich!! Jesus is calling you to Him! This might encourage you: In the Bible, Proverbs 19:11 states, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Sending lots of love and prayers!
Blessings always!!

Good but desperately needs an editor

My Favorite Podcast!
I was sent a podcast episode about 5 months ago and have not stoped listening. Rich Roll has an incredible way of diving deep with each guest and asking the hard questions. There is a magical combination between having hard science explanations with the experts he brings on and the human element, conversational components that bring such a thoughtfulness to each interview. I love so many of these episodes and have sent dozens to friends and family. Jokingly it’s been said that my new love language is sharing the information and lessons learned from each episode. Thank you!

The Lighthouse
I’ve been listening to this podcast since 2015, it has enriched my life in so many ways. I first hear Rich when he was interviewed on The Minimalists podcast and I immediately had ton know more about him. I came not knowing what I was looking for and I have Rich Roll and his dynamic list of guests to thank for making me a better version of myself. I’ve been lost so many times and I can always guide my way back when I listen in. So much gratitude for the RRP!

Thank you, Rich, for having the courage and curiosity to facilitate such soulful and humbling conversations.

Where is this a podcast going
Listening to the latest with Jeff Krasno. What is the purpose of this conversation? I can’t wade through the existential conversation to try and care. To me it seems like Rich and Jeff are trying to one up each other on who has the most unfamiliar vocabulary. Very difficult to follow or get excited about.

Life changing
I look forward to each episode. Rich is honest, humble and real. I love it when he has ordinary people with life changing stories. It makes me feel like anything is possible and I can also make a difference in this world.

This podcast is now geared towards the affluent
I used to listen to this podcast religiously, but in the last two years I have not been able to get past the first twenty minutes of one.

My Favorite
Three of Rich Roll’s recent podcasts have felt much like listening in on two close friends sharing very private thoughts and feelings. I love how authentic and vulnerable Rich is with disclosing his personal story and how he draws that out in his guests. An extra bonus is that I can watch the video on YouTube to get a better experience. I would love to join their conversation sometime. Peace & Gratitude, Grace

Sell out
I used to love this podcast but I can’t stand to listen anymore. Rich used to have a grip on reality but now he just caters to exclusive elite. The toxic wellness industry has sadly taken another good one. He’s more concerned with his image than having the courage to talk about current issues.

Surprisingly Sober
I’m a mom of two under two. I found this podcast through the Gisel Bunchen episode, looking to get healthier. 15 episodes later, I’m (finally!) sober, workout, stretch every morning, vegan again, and eat beans every day. I had no idea I needed this podcast. My marriage is sweeter. My daughters are more grounded. My life is more balanced. Thank you so much for luring me onto this path.

Disappointed
He shouldn’t talk about things he doesn’t understand with equally uninformed guests. I highly recommend he discuss glp-1 meditations with a qualified obesity specialist instead of an author without a medical degree & a doctor speaking outside his scope of practice who sites “pancreas issues or something like that” seriously? I use to really like this podcast but his obesity bias is showing & it’s not pretty. These meds are improving health & saving lives. You should invite Dr. Spencer Nadolsky an actual obesity & lipid specialist if you really want to have an intelligent conversation on this topic.

Started off great
The episodes during the last year or so have been hard to listen to. It’s like Rich is trying too hard. Too much talk about the podcast itself. I have been unable to finish one in months. The genuine nature of the podcast has eroded. Instead of interesting dialogue with a guest there is too much self-exposing with Rich always trying to express himself in some piffy trend setting way(virtue signaling, woke...etc). Too much self absorption- note the constant brand logo changes, set changes, show music etc etc. I keep trying because I used to love this podcast, but it is not getting better. Stick to health, Veganism, spirituality, sleep, exercising, meditation. Lectures on society’s ills are boring. Just like the program- don’t lecture- tell your story. Let the guests tell their story. The last great guest you had was Shane Parrish and his podcasts stick to his formula. He’s not branching out past his capabilities. I’m not saying you can’t do this but slow your roll- pun intended. Now we have the Rich Roll coffee table book and a subscription model on the way. All in the spirit of trying to connect with my listeners in a different way? Call it what it is. Soul crushing capitalism. Count me out.

Please stop talking over your guests
Listening to the Chef Babbit episode - she is amazing! But geez, Rich, talk less, listen more. You talked over her to ‘make your points’ and it was slightly annoying to listen to.
Sandy8675
Great guests, but the host…
…privileged, arrogant, self-congratulatory, know-it-all. After two years of listening, when Rich Roll countered Cory Richards in an arrogant, pro-AA diatribe, I decided to quit the Rich Roll podcast.

More empathy to those not ultra slim!
As a person who is WFPB and feels relatively good about her body, I cringed many times when I listened to your talk with Johann Hari. Yikes, less judgement about those who don’t have your incredible willpower. Kudos to Mr. Hari for keeping going. I might have walked out as you seemed so dismissive and high-and-mighty. And this is from someone who believes everything that you say about the food industry, big pharma etc. Have some empathy though for those who just can’t seem to do it for whatever reason. And, yes, let’s get to the root of the problem, but with less judgement and more love!!
In general though, thanks for making these podcasts. I find many of them very informative. I would love to see many more women interviewed though. And persons of the global majority (ie - non-white!!). I have sent these to my friend who is Black, and although he is interested in just about all the topics you tackle, he never really listens because he says, “Everyone is white. I don’t really feel like he is speaking to me.”

Rich, you were so genuine in your vulnerability when the conversation turned to Beero ( sp?) and you were accessing the taste test with Tom. As a fellow friend of Bill W I wondered what you were going to do.. I don’t think I could have , I’m so afraid of waking up the sleeping giant and , without you saying much I know you were as well.
No judgement, just wanted you to know I felt you..

Obesity and Ozempic episode
Re: May 23, 2024 episode on Ozempic. Five stars for Mr Hari (I’ve just ordered his book) and two stars for Rich Roll. Mr Roll’s contempt for people affected by the disease obesity while sitting on his high-hill of extreme privilege was both annoying and disturbing.

Tired of listening to talks with men
I have been listening to RR for years and have learned so much and been so inspired by many of his guests but I am tired of it being (mostly white) male guests. Out of 49 regular podcasts this season only 9 have been women. I’m incredibly disappointed by this oversight in who they’re booking.
Unfortunately taking this out of my listening rotation for now.

If You're Not Listening, You're Missing Out
I've been listening to Rich's podcast since the beginning & every episode I love it more and more. His growth as a wellness advocate & podcaster is amazing. One of the many things I love about the podcast is his interview style. As a litigator myself, I'm very picky about how people speak, ask questions, and convey themselves. Rich does so clearly, authentically, and insightfully. In addition, I also love the range of topics he explores, from nutrition to exercise to spiritual wellness. His entire podcast library, just like his philosophy, is holistic in the truest sense. For those who say this is not a "health & fitness" podcast, you're missing the point. Health & fitness is more about workouts & what's in your water bottles! Most importantly, Rich is the "every man." He actually is just like a normal, average person. People get tired of taking advice from people with a wall of degrees who lack practical experience. Rich has been through struggles & consciously chose to overcome them. He makes his conversations relatable. He shows how anyone can transform his/her situation. I come away from every single episode inspired & hungry for more.

Taking a break.
I used to faithfully listen each week. Times change.... podcasts ebb and flow. So I'll keep it in my feed. I appreciate the women and people of color when they show up. However.... that is not often. Also... let your guests talk. We know you are intelligent and capable... it's why we tune in... it often feels like you are trying to remind us of this fact w a big vocabulary and summary of information that you should let your guests give. Relax... we like you and already know you are smart. Let the guest have more room to talk....

RR interrupts guest so much I had to tune out
I was really excited to learn from a recent episode, but all I got was the guest about to explain something and Rich either finishing the sentence or interjecting. Extremely disappointing

Too Many Filler Words
I would rate this podcast higher except that I can’t stand the constant filler words. Especially the phrase: “You Know”. I think I counted it being said over 100 times in one episode. It’s super distracting and annoying.

Amazing podcast
I originally read Rich Roll's book since I love reading about runners but his story was more than just inspiring. I found his podcast and he is a fantastic interviewer knowing when to let the person talk and circles back and somehow always asks the questions I'm wondering myself. Somehow gets the coolest guests and meshes with all of them. Would love to hear more Mike Posner podcasts since the two guys have great conversations and bring out the best in each other. Thank you!! Keep doing what you're doing
