I was an OG listener of this podcast. I would actually consider it my gateway drug to podcasts. It used to be so fun and entertaining—literally laugh out loud funny. I was a BFOTS for several years. Unfortunately, the show is simply not as enjoyable as it once was. I found the recent Urban Dictionary episode to feel more like a lecture than a funny dive into slang. Jamie’s constant sexual jokes are weird and uncomfortable (I feel like she recently became sexually active and wants the world to know?). It seems like I’m constantly being asked to buy something from them whether it’s to subscribe to their Patreon or purchase old episodes. Get your bag, and I hope the model is working for them, but the regular feed seems hardly worth the listen with all the ads.

I understand the podcast space has changed, but six minutes of ads to get to a preview, with three or four more ads in the middle is just too much. I’ve been listening to the podcast for years, but this new model isn’t working for me.

Been listening for YEARS. Have been a FOTS and BFOTS. There are just so many ads and the subscription is more expensive than I think it’s worth for the content. I do think they work hard to generate content, but what’s the point? Especially when half of the episode is ads. And I don’t think I’m being extreme.

New Friends w. Benefots! This show has buoyed me through so many seasons from the time I began listening sometime btw 2014 & 2015. So that’s insane. I’m not going to do the para social “they’re my friends” thing - (although, hello? - want to hang?) …but I love being along for the delightful idiotic ride. Imagine being a hater and missing the story about Erin and J. Bailey, I mean GAH. A decade of listening and you still make me laugh out loud.

I’ve been a super long time listener- like for 7 years! It was tough to listen to for the past few years when they kept swerving off “the what entertains but doesn’t matter” when I really just wanted an escape from the real life and news. But lately it’s been getting fun again and I’m considering joining BFOTS!

I LOVED this podcast for years - I would tell everyone I knew about it, I never missed an episode, I was a Patreon subscriber, live shows, I even made my husband watch the bachelorette with me when we were exhausted and postpartum just so I could keep up with the recaps. At the time, it was such a rare gem to find a genuinely hilarious and mostly clean podcast about pop culture through the lens of two Christians. It was hilarious and they “protected the vibe” and kept it fun. I now feel like the hosts come across as holier than thou in their opinions and it’s not as lighthearted for me anymore. It was a fun hang for a long time though. Great memories.

Knox and Jamie are the delightful chaos you didn’t know your pop culture life was missing. They dish out sharp, hilarious takes on everything from celebrity mishaps to obscure TV moments with the perfect mix of sass and smarts. Listening feels like eavesdropping on your funniest friends—if your friends were way better at hot takes and didn’t interrupt you constantly. The Friends with Benefots tier on Patreon? A cozy, ad-free wonderland I would protect at all costs. And don’t even try to recommend a book before I’ve heard their Green Lights—priorities, people. If you love pop culture but have no time for petty gossip or reality show drama spirals, The Popcast is your comfy, snark-filled escape hatch.

In a sea of money grabs and failed celebrity grifts, this is never miss podcast. I’ve been listening since Jamie was on another Jamie’s pod and listened to the backlist, including the lost tom hanks ep. Come here to get a show to replace your emotional support show (the office) and stay for the laughs.

I’ve been listening to Knox and Jamie on Wednesdays for more than 10 years now. They are my comfort show the same way Gilmore girls is.

Knox and Jamie are an absolute delight! The pop cultural knowledge is far-reaching and informative, but most of all HILARIOUS! Don’t let any one star review get you fooled—they will tell it like it is in the best way, no matter who you are. They are my favorite church goers, and they make may whole day every time I listen.

This podcast is so clever and fun!

The Popcast is a wonderful little midweek pick me up. Even though I know less about pop culture than Erin (I didn’t know who Slimer was either), I always end up laughing at Knox and Jamie’s witty banter. I do get some good book and show recommendations too! And even if I never watch them, I at least learn enough to have a less socially awkward conversation about the things that everyone else is watching.

I’ve been listening to Knox, Jamie and Erin for YEARS now! They’ve kept me company on countless road trips, flights and boring days in the office. They’ve kept are the perfect balance to each other. It’s like if siblings had a podcast about pop culture and knew the right amount to pick on each other and celebrities! And being a Friends with Benefots gives me even more fun every week!!

Talk about a delightful listen. I’ve been listening to this podcast for over three years after my spouse’s every other comment was, “This week on the Popcast,” and I wanted to be able to discuss the topics with them. In the past year I’ve accessed exclusive content and I’m not going back. If you want a podcast for things that do not matter, but definitely entertain then you need to add this to your weekly listen list.

In today’s world, listening to Knox and Jamie break down the things that educate but do not matter is an absolute balm for my soul. Thank you for injecting some joy into my veins!

I love them all but I’m countering the hate. Jamie is amazing. The banter is perfection. The humor is fun and light. This is my favorite podcast.

Jamie, Knox, and Erin provide a welcome respite from the current firehouse of upsetting news we receive daily. They are loving, decent people who make me laugh every Wednesday (and Tuesday and sometimes Friday as I’m a Friend with Benifots). Some people might complain about the number of diglets, gummies, or sex scenes mentioned in their podcasts, but as an exvangelical, I’d like to hear even more about them. Maybe even get some affiliate links for the gummies. Goodness knows, in these trying times, we could all use one. Thank you guys for your commitment to educating us on things that don’t matter.

This is a top tier podcast! I just love the banter between the hosts. These 3 are the parasocial friends you need. Their interesting and witty conversations have lifted my spirits during these times.

Knox and Jamie have been my weekly companions for like a decade now - they work tirelessly and put out so much content that I literally haven't gone a week without hearing them at least once. While they deliver on the "Educating you on thing that entertain but don't matter", they do it with equal parts humor and heart, and a healthy dash of shenanigans. I've been a Patreon subscriber for a handful of years as well, and it's totally worth it - especially in the past few months when I've had to cut back on my news & politics podcasts for mental health reasons, I know I can count on Knox, Jamie, and Erin to help me make it through the day.

If you live in the South, you know you are surrounded by some of the wittiest people in the world, but you rarely see them represented in media. This podcast is SO refreshing because its hosts are the best of that thoughtful, quick humor I love, finally in the accents and context I know.

This show definitely makes me feel like I am more pop savvy then I actually am. I am a ball of social anxiety but this podcast gives me information and laughter to make me seem like I might be cool. Best part of my week

I started listening to the Popcast just before the pandemic. And honestly, it was one of the things that saved me during that time and in this time after. So thankful for the delightful idiocies I hear each week!

I used to be a diehard fan. I loved the light hearted self deprecation, hilarious commentary on popular culture, and overall silliness. Jamie and Knox have slowly transitioned their content to excessively mocking Christianity, crossing the line to sacrilegious and it is UNCOMFORTABLE; pushing far left political views ad nauseam when this podcast used to be an escape from the serious; and hero worshipping Erin for an hour, who is actually not at all funny because she is relentlessly try-hard and not at all a Bible scholar per her claim. Jamie and Knox- mocking God but then saying “but it’s okay, I’m a Christian,” is actually not okay and doesn’t align with anything in the Bible. Also, if something in the Bible makes you uncomfortable, you don’t get to decide it’s not literal because it makes you feel better. Shame on you for using your platform to mock the God you say you love and to point people away from Him. I’m embarrassed to say I used to be such a big fan, because now I don’t want any association with The Popcast.

Imagine your two hilarious best friends decided to go hard in the paint for pop culture current events, sometimes inviting your third best friend (who knows next to nothing about pop culture) to weigh in… these dummies keep riffing and sometimes dunking on A to D list celebs and the shows/movies they make… and even when you’re already peeing just a little, they won’t stop with the jokes. Imagine that chaos and delight showing up in your podcast feed every week (or if you’re like me, ad-free 2 or 3 times a week), reminding you that nothing really matters except the things that actually do matter. When the world is on fire and you just need to escape to a quirkily decorated panic room, Knox & Jamie & Erin will be there with the conversational equivalent of Nerf guns full of Kool-Aid to make the world go away for as long as you need them to.

I used to love this podcast. It was lighthearted, smart and hilarious. Some of the “Nos” episodes are absolute classics. Over time, though, it’s become a lot less fun and more political, critical and condescending. It’s also frequently immature and crude. I canceled my Patreon a few years ago for those reasons but listened to regular episodes occasionally in hopes that the podcast would return to its roots. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen and it’s at the point where, as a Christian, I feel like I probably shouldn’t be listening to this podcast. Since I’ve been a Patreon supporter, I know that negative reviews do get mocked and I’m sure this one will, too. I do wish Knox and Jamie the best. They’re smart, hardworking and talented. Sadly, the podcast just isn’t for me anymore.

I am a longtime listener and made the switch to the Friends With Benefots level on Patreon as soon as they announced it. And I swear, those episode behind the paywall are my new favorites. The vibes are never protected but always just right. So much goodness.

Cannot recommend this podcast enough, despite the fact that 90% of the time Knox and Jamie name a celebrity I don’t know who they’re talking about. There are so many episodes where I don’t know what they’re talking about. (This is a reflection on me living under a rock not the knowability of their content.) It doesn’t matter, they’re always hilarious. I’d listen to them read the phone book.

I look forward to these episodes every week. Love the laughs and appreciate staying up to date on current events.

I’m posting a review because Jamie told me too. And they deserve 5 stars, I’m not just doing to because she told me to. They might light of the serious, but in a super respectful and appreciated way. And they also make a big deal about not serious things, which is what I need in my life right now.

I absolutely love listening to Jamie and Knox every week. The banter is quick and hilarious. They play off each other well. The lighthearted moments I really need every week and then some. AND they are good people, willing to take a stand

Sadly for me the hosts have just become too mean spirited and raunchy. Gets cringy gross at times, esp as they are Christians it’s not a good witness

In the past, the team has navigated the line of funny and appropriate, but in the past 2-3 years, it’s gotten more and more past the line. If you’re looking for a funny, entertaining, and clean podcast, I don’t think this is it anymore :/

The only podcast that I listen to faithfully every single week. Knox and Jamie are my besties, they just don’t know it yet.

Sadly making the call to stop listening :( it used to be a favorite of mine and was the only podcast I ever paid for. Over the years I’ve listened less and less as the tone has seemed to get meaner and more condescending. Another review mentioned that negative the reviews get mocked on Patreon which feels unsurprising.

No longer fun. No longer a highlight of my podcast lineup. Sorry to go. I miss the banter and the fun that was traded for the snarky comments and judgment.

Knox and Jamie are hilarious and chaotic in the very best way. Listening to them is like having a conversation with close friends. Also, you guys need to calm down about the paywall situation. So what? This is the best way for them to keep going without eventually shutting down. So think about it, would you rather lose this forever, or keep it with one less episode. Your choice.
