I enjoy your commentary and really enjoy getting g to re-experience the books for the first time through your eyes! I’ve been with you since the Potterless days, but the number of live show episodes is almost making me want to move on. It’s just not as good as you and a guest one on one discussing the book.

If I was stuck in a room with Umbridge or Octavian, I would choose whichever one it was easier to and more subjects to annoying

Man who pays for all your shows and travel. It’s a good show, kinda comes off tween’ish but I guess that’s how you have to act to get the money. Try the show it’s actually good, the host does a lot of good, fights for social causes and is trying to create a better world. He’s doing more than 99% of America who just bully and complain online behind a screen and username.

I love listening to this podcast when I’m cleaning or doing art. I’m glad it’s not explicit and I even got my younger brother to listen to it.

I used to keep up with a lot of podcasts when I worked an office job, but my life style has changed so I don’t listen to podcasts as much. In fact, his is the only podcast I have kept up with, with the exception of being an episode or two behind occasionally. When I have the opportunity to, I try to listen to other podcasts Mike has been apart of. I have followed Mike’s podcasts since before he became a full time podcaster. You can really tell he loves his job. I recommend any and all of his podcasts.

I absolutely love this podcast, as someone who has read all of these books it’s so fun to revisit them with someone else.

Did you know that antlers are not really confined to only male deer and deer don’t really have super binary genders! I love the PJO books, it’s the only series I reread year after year. I love this show so much, it feels like having a friend read my favorite books. I get so excited for Mike to get to all of my favorite scenes and meet my favorite characters. I’m currently catching up but I hope to be there when Mike comes to Iowa!

I LOVE this podcast!! I’ve only just found it and I’m rushing through it to get caught up!! Shubes is now my PJo bff and I want to laugh at these half-bloods’ antics with him and all the guests!! The jokes are always 10/10, the commentary makes me realize things I hadn’t seen before (and I’ve been reading these since the first film came out) and I cannot get caught up fast enough and plan to get started on potterless next! I first read the PJO books when I was a wee little nine-year-old, for the same reason that every younger sibling gets into anything-because my big brother was reading them. Since then, I have adored the PJO books and everything else Uncle Rick has written. I literally cannot wait for you to finish these books so you can go to the sequel series. And then the Kane Chronicles. And then the Magnus Chase trilogy. Hi Mike, My theory for the reason The Lost Hero doesn’t have creative chapter titles is because it switches POVs and the names of each character are listed there for people to avoid being confused as to whose chapter it is..? Also I am a huge fan of your shows, thank you for all that you do!! Your podcasts got me through some tough times a few years ago it’s amazing to see how your career has grown since then. This podcast has been so refreshing after being in a listening/reading slump! The humor is right up my alley and has me bursting out laughing every time. Definitely worth a listen.

I absolutely love this podcast!! Mr. Schubert is hilarious and I love all his ideas!! Definitely a podcast worth listening to!! My favorite episodes have to be the interviews with the PJO tv series actors!! There is a moment in episode 127 where you say that you don’t understand how people can like Selina Beauregard after what she did. (Spoiler alert for those who haven’t finished PJO book 5) I am a huge fan of Selina as well as Luke because both could have stayed safe and risked everyone but instead they both gave up their own life to make up for what they had done. Now that I have finished my rant I want to thank you for taking the time to read it.

Great show! Been catching up on this and it is enjoyable to hear the predictions and reactions from someone who has not read it. I will say a pet peeve is that consistently Hades is referred to as evil. Hades is not inherently evil in mythology. He’s just another one of the gods, for better or for worse. Shows like disneys Hercules have portrayed him as a bad guy, and there are some interesting analysis of the perception changing with Christianity. People started associating hades, who in Greek mythology was just the ruler of the underworld, not evil, to Satan, ruler of demons and the bad afterlife. Just even in Percy Jackson Hades isn’t any worse than other gods. In fact he’s one of the better ones sometimes? So he’s not one to be mentioned in the same breath as the real bad guys of the series. Well that was a silly rant and there might be a change as the series goes on. I’m only in the reading of the Titans Curse so we’ll see lol. Still, great show. Super enjoy

I grew up with this series, and love it with my whole heart. I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on this podcast. Just finished lightning thief with Mike, and I am addicted. Thank you for making this.

Have you ever recommended someone a book almost overwhelmed by the excitement that they get to experience reading it for the first time? And then they tell you all about reading it and they light up getting into all the exciting details? And then you’re grinning ear to ear at getting to share in their excitement? Or maybe you’ve never had that experience, but always dreamed it would happen…if that’s the case, then this is the podcast for you. Mike’s enthusiasm is electric and every episode is just a riptide roaring good time.

My only complaint is the host (I’m 15 episodes in) seems to be on a mission to be offended on other group’s behalf, even when the representation is either harmless (a 12yo harmless girl/boy convo), reclaimed (the word “cripple”), or very good and in fact groundbreaking (in the case of ADHD/dyslexia). But maybe he learns from that and further along. My only ask would to let people who have these attributes decide what is truly offensive because a large amount of things that being taken as negative/offensive are just a state of being for people! Otherwise, he’s funny, genuinely enjoys the books and it’s refreshing to see a new fan’s views on one of the best kid’s series ever made. ALSO BIGGEST ISSUE— the audio repeats. 20 mins repeats half way through wvery single episode! Please fix it’s driving me nuts 🥲

I enjoy this Podcast. Love PJO and Mike & guests are entertaining to listen to. However, I’m so frustrated with the editing. Almost every episode is cut poorly where it’ll go to an Ad break and then pick up 20 minutes before that Ad break and then cut off before the podcast actually ends. This has happened in countless episodes. Seems ridiculous considering he’s done multiple podcasts and is books deep in this one

I started listening to this podcast after I finished the Percy Jackson series, and I just love Mike’s commentary on all of the books. He is so funny, and I love the books, excited for heroes of Olympus series. 😁

This is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Mike goes over the books in such a way that you don’t have to have read them to enjoy his commentary and banter with his guests. A great thing about this creator is his inclusivity and willingness to learn. He brings in guests who have experience with ADHD, asexuality, etc to give their perspective on the books and express what excels and what could be better. Every episode has me laughing out loud regardless of what they’re covering. Percy Jackson fan, Mike Schubert fan, Greek mythology fan, or I just need something to listen to on this road trip fan, this is the podcast for you.

This is a great podcast. I was on Mike’s journey through Harry Potter and have been enjoying his journey through the PJ universe. I know that it is a podcast and we can’t see cast but based off the instagram posts, the name’s of guests, and the copious references to Taylor Swift the podcast comes across fairly white. As POC that’s into nerdy things that is something a lot of us are used to and I am not passing any moral judgements. In fact I want to commend Mike on having guest from around the world and having neurodivergent guests on to talk about their experience. That being said I really hope that there are some efforts made to improve racial diversity in the guests especially heading into the Heroes of Olympus as Rick consciously made the effort to include more racially diverse characters and I would love to hear from the perspective of people who’s identities are similar to those characters (I’m trying to remain spoiler free). All and all I am still having a great time and the guests are awesome. But this change would make this a 5 star podcast for me :)
