I love New Girl so much and it’s such a comfort listening to this podcast. I have misophonia though a NEED y’all to edit out Lamorne’s mouth noises. I’ve shut it off several times over the lip smacking and drinking sounds. Please fix this so I can listen!!

Obviously I came for New Girl, but I stayed for Hannah and Lamorne. Genuinely if they just chatted all episode and never spoke about new girl, I would still be happy.

Something needs to be done about the mouth sounds. I really want to love this podcast since I’m a huge new girl fan but listening to Lamorne’s constant mouth sounds drives me absolutely crazy and I can’t focus on anything else or I stop listening all together. If they can be edited out this podcast would be amazing!

I really enjoy the banter and the conversation for the most part. The stories are fun but I have heard some stories several times throughout different episodes so it gets a little redundant. Also my biggest gripe is Hannah scream “laughing”. It sounds so forced and disingenuous. Please make it more genuine interactions that also don’t make my ears bleed.

Hannah please let your guests speak! Listening to an older interview with max wrinkler and it’s 90% Hannah 10% max. Let the guests speak!!

I love New Girl and I love this podcast. Winston and CeCe together was one of my favorite aspects of the show. This is amazing!

I wanted to like this podcast so bad, but unfortunately the mouth sounds are so bad. Sooo sticky and gross. You cannot only hear them talking, but you can hear their mouths moving as they talk. I just can't. Holy f

Whoever chose the title of this podcast made a mistake. 193 episodes in and I had no idea a New Girl rewatch podcast even existed. That’s because the title tells me zero about the content. I’ve seen it in lineups but never bothered. If I had known what it was by the title I would’ve checked it out long ago.

But it needs more Jess! Huge Zooey fan.

Pretty irritated they won’t put “RERUN” on every episode they reupload. Extremely irritating and makes it so confusing. So confusing enough that I’m about to unsubscribe. Like they how posted “a conversation with Justin long” 6 times. Simply add “RE-UPLOAD” in the title. Not hard!!!!!!!!

I had to take a break from this podcast because I got tired of the ads. I’m back and the ads are still there, but what happened to the substance of this podcast? I thought we would get more behind-the-scenes memories once we got to later seasons and memories became fresher, but no. Zooey talked to much but I remember her directing the conversations/recaps better at least. Hannah served when Zooey first left but now? I hear two lovely people just talking about themselves and complimenting industry folks. I can appreciate that that’s part of the biz, but dang. I’ll try again later because I love this show and I’m grateful Hannah and Lamorne make time to record. But for now, the long ads aren’t worth the overall listening experience anymore. Back on hiatus.

I’ve never listened to a podcast that has THIS MANY ADS. There is so little substance when it comes to ads, and I’m sick of listening to Hannah think that she was like the glue of the show when her character was one of the most annoying pieces. Seriously might stop listening though jus because of the ads, it’s out of control and they aren’t thinking about the listener experience.

It’s nice to hear from the two of you more! I love Zooey but she dominated the conversations. This is less talking over each other too! 100% lol

I started listening just recently, when all three were hosting. I don’t normally write reviews, but for some reason I felt compelled. I do love the three of them in New Girl and I love listening, but I honestly cannot wait for ZD to not be a part of the podcast anymore. She just sounds so condescending, always has to be right, and it ALWAYS has to be about her. I’m not sure if she even realizes she’s doing it but she does and I can’t stand listening to it. I have to fast-forward. I know you can’t have New Girl without ZD but you can have a podcast without her.

I love New Girl, and absolutely love this podcast. I look forward to it every week. The past few episode though, it’s been hard to hear Lamorne without cranking the volume alllll the way up. Can’t wait for the season 4 recap, hopefully the volume issue will be fixed

I love the show and love the podcast. I don’t know if there’s been an issue with sound. Some episodes I can hear Hannah fine and hardly able to hear Lamorne. Then sometimes when Hannah is solo during I can hardly hear her at times. Other than that I love all the fun stories from behind the scenes and discuss them with all the people I know who watch New Girl.

I absolutely LOVE New Girl!! I have been religiously watching this show. Binging it the first time around and now have it on as background or I’ll put it on when I’m feeling down. It is such a comfort show to me so when “Welcome to our show” came out and now the new and improved “The Mess Around” I was elated!! This podcast is so so fun and I would recommend to any loft-y who is looking for a comfort podcast ❤️

I was so excited for this pod. I love Hanna and Lamorne. I love New Girl. I listened to DOZENS of episodes. I should not have to fast forward 3 minutes, listen to 90 seconds, and fast forward another 4 minutes just go get through the first 10 minutes of a show. On a 19 minute episode, there were 10 minutes of ads. While there were a lot of ads when Zooey was on, it was nothing compared to now. I also know exactly what toothpaste I’ll *never* buy because it’s not fun listening to only the female host of a podcast with a male cohost spending about 3 minutes per episode talking about how it’s a woman’s job to “smile first.”

I’ve been home on leave for back surgery. I’m doing really well but revisiting New Girl has been an absolute delight! Much needed laughs! 🫶🏻

I love The Mess Around! It flows a lot better without Zooey (and I love Zooey). Hannah is a natural and could read the proverbial phone book and I’d listen. Lamorne is charming. Together they are so much fun. Just another classic Winston and CeCe mess around!

Classic Winston and Cece mess around! One of the things I miss most about the show! Bean bag chair! Stealing Ferguson back from a neighbor, two of my all time favorite characters. Wish Jake, Damon and Max were on this too, I have rewatched this show more times than I can think of. It’s nice to have yet another reason to rewatch this (like I even need another reason to rewatch my all time fave show) Can we please get a reunion episode or episodes?!

I really love New Girl! One of my go to repeat shows. I love the podcast but I’d love for y’all to get deeper into the episodes, like location breakdowns and more talk about the episodes and scenes. I love learning all the behind the scene things.

New girl is my favorite show and I enjoy the podcast —- other than Lamorne’s need to make s*x jokes every other sentence...my 14 year old brother is more mature about girls. It’s always off topic and Hannah constantly has to redirect. Other than that, I just wish they would come more prepared. Last episode Hannah said, “I have the scripts, I’ll have to check if that line was improvised,” but why didn’t she check before hand? I guess I’m just used to Office Ladies where they come prepared and do deep dives for their audience.

I really like how Hannah navigates conversations—she has a very smart and funny vibe about her.

I’m only like nine episodes in but so far this shows seems to be about 5% new girl recap and 95% about their lives or other projects they have been in. That’s fine sometimes and can be interesting but I was hoping more for info about the episodes and behind the scene stuff. Don’t expect that here. I’ll keep trying to see if it gets any better though.

I miss Zoe!!!!!

Seems every episode, Zooey has some type of issue with Lamorne. They don’t have the same comedy styles, and it shows a lot when outside of a script. Hope to find a better recap show from an outside perspective. UPDATE: better without Zooey, but the Elvis episode was only 17 minutes long and had 8 minutes of ads. That is CRAZY.

I was excited to go into this podcast but after two episodes, it’s been so hard to get through all these. LM is always trying to be funny or left the top and sometimes it gets old. And the big thing is Zooey. From the very beginning, Hannah and LM made it very clear Zooey is the one who confirmed who would be on the show or not. That she carried a lot of weight on the show. She never feels like she wants to be on the show but that it is beneath her….its all about her movies, shows, music she did in the past and that she has all the experience and is more important than everyone. Also, I honestly feel like Zooey hates LM so much. Yes, Lamourne gives Zooey a hard time all the time, but she doesn’t go along with it, and gets offended every episode or has to be strict mom every episode before anyone says something that could hurt the show. Just not a fan of Zooey at all and hope it gets better. She can’t take a joke or just going along with it. Her fake laugh is that worst …..ha…ha….ha.

Okay I can’t be the only one but I’m glad Zoey is not in the pod anymore. The show has a better flow and they’re so funny together! Love the pod I’m obsessed 😍

I like the new format but I also liked hearing the random bits of information with Zooey.

Love it , except for the fact that he sounds like that friend who lies about his sex life and makes gross comments as a “ joke” . So interesting how hannah seems to have to brush it off

The new New Girl rewatch with Lamorne and Hannah is SO MUCH BETTER than before!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Zooey but this is more of a rewatch pod rather than random tangents and going way off topic! I also feel like the vibe is so much more fun and light! Thank you for rebranding & giving the New Girl fans what we strive for!!! 🤍🩷

Lamorne and Hannah together are so lovely - you can feel the strength of their friendship and their love of NG coming through in every episode. Predictably, the negative reviews seem to mostly be white tears about “wokeness” and unnecessary policing of the hosts’ tone, so feel free to ignore them if you have half a brain, and want to hear two hilarious people share something joyful about a great show!

Edit: The show is a lot better with the new 2 person format which is a shame. Most importantly it seems like Hannah and Lamorne actually discussed what they wanted the podcast to be moving forward and are actually on the same page. They already have 1 filler episode out of 3. So that’s still a little worrying. But their new format has gotten at least 1 new resubscriber in me. ====== First off just look at the title names. They have more canned interview episodes for filler because they can’t all 3 show up at the same time ever. Just pre record a few episodes if the work load is an issue. Like everyone says it’s rewatch category is very misleading as they never talk about the episode and if they do it’s about how much zoey hated being sexualized by being the least sexualized character on television. It’s clear that Hannah and Lamorne have talking points planned but anytime anyone actually talks about the episode zoey shuts it down and derails the conversation in a fashion that seems like she is only here to audition to be on hot ones or something, with forced conversation about name dropping who she is currently in movies with and their trip to the World Series. It is obvious that the guests, hannah and lamorne are trying to have fun and create chemistry but zoey is not having any of it and whoever is forcing her to be there really needs to let her leave if she wants to.

I am a huge new girl fan and was so excited for this show, and while it is way better without Zoey, I think it still misses the mark. I love Hannah and Lamorn but their constant need to be politically correct is exhausting. In a world where it seems like everything is falling apart and everyone is at each others throats I kind of just want to enjoy the comedy that comes from one of my favorite shows. It’s kind of a bummer. If the show is that problematic then maybe we should just let it lie instead of trying to rewatch it. So torn because I am the biggest fan and have watched it so many times, but this podcast makes me not want to watch it anymore.

Genuinely look forward to each episode now! Love everything about the rebrand. Title and theme are perfect. Happy for Hannah and Lamorne; they’re killing it & have great bestie chemistry

The new format is so much better and cohesive! Really happy that Hannah and Lamorne are back together to recap New Girl. They have wonderful rapport! My only complaint is the intro music or whatever you want to call that. I’m so sorry to whoever created it but it’s very chaotic and too long. I skip over it. The end where Lamorne says “Mess around podcast” would be sufficient as an intro.

It’s only been a few episodes and it’s ridiculous how much better the podcast is with just Hannah and Lamorne.

So happy the mess around is back!! And man not only can they act but sing too. Love the chemistry these two have for this podcast!

Hello! I’m starting positive because New Girl is my favorite show and I love you both very much regardless of what I’m going to say you still get five stars because I appreciate what you do and I respect you. Zooey being gone is likely a good move, as much as we love her she seemed to halt the show a bit. I had the feeling like we couldn’t talk about anything real without fear of offending someone. That feeling I had felt validated when I listened to the newer eps with just Hannah and Lamorne and were talking about real issues. Racist undertones throughout the show, etc. I do agree that Schmidt’s racist remarks were more to make him look dumb, but the fact that we had no black writers while doing that was .. yeah. We missed the mark. While we’re on the topic I just want to say something. Lamorne discussed things in the show that have made him uncomfortable in regards to what I mentioned above. I always thought that Hannah’s “blaccent” was a CeCeism, or maybe I was hoping it was. Hannah is Canadian. To my knowledge she was not raised by black people. Brown skin does not equal black culture and it’s really uncomfortable to listen to appropriation while we’re finally able to discuss these topics deeper. I understand being chill, laid back, having banter, etc. I’m not trying to be mean and black culture is deeply engrained in our society.. but we have just got to stop the stealing. Again I love you both and I’m incredibly happy that you’re back. I’m eager to see where this podcast goes because you both deserve great things!

An actress who thinks we hang on her every word? How original. Haha. Cute TV show. Just enjoy it. None of us need to here your ‘inside scoop’. If you don’t want to make a well produced show with content and clear audio, please just move on with your lives. Or do a group chat among yourselves. No one cares. And please no reboot. Leave well enough alone. You all have other jobs so just focus on those. Not everything needs to be a podcast.

Ok… let me preface this by saying that NG is literally my favorite show ever. Ever. Have watched it so many times. I was super excited to listen to this. I have listened to every episode now (13) and here is why I’m just all done. 1) As mentioned in other reviews, Zooey interrupts and constantly brings the conversation back to talking about herself. Super narcissistic. I was disappointed. 2) Lamorne is always trying to be funny and joking around sarcastically… which is awesome. But then Zooey or Hannah (mostly Z) has to constantly say “no that’s not true.” Etc. It’s a joke and everyone knows it. Why do you have to be so politically correct all of the dang time. Which brings me to my literal biggest pet peeve of this podcast… 3) the constant need to be woke and politically correct. You do not need to say that things were racist or cringey or disturbing every freaking episode. Everyone watching knows. Everyone is an adult. It’s a show. It’s on. It’s still streaming. For the love of God, I’m so sick of this. Can we just have a rewatch podcast without 10 minutes of you dancing around the “inappropriateness” of some parts. Which honestly, is kind of a slap in the face to the writers, which you are praising in the same episode. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just don’t get it. It’s been fun. But I’m out. I’m going to go turn on the real show where I am allowed to watch and laugh and no one is interrupted.

Had to stop listening… on several episodes it’s been mentioned how the storyline would not play today. Why can’t we just enjoy the show? Funny is not always PC. I say this as a black woman, who loves sitcoms and stand up comedy. Can you all just recap and talk about the storyline without apologizing? I love New Girl but this podcast rewatch diminishes the enjoyment of the show. It’s just soooo boring…..

I felt like this new updated rewatch of the show is so much better. When it was Zooey, Hannah and Lamorne, it was really all over the place and so hard to listen as everyone was interrupting eachother. This is so much more organized and I love learning behind of the scenes of production.
