Woke
This is a sad, D.E.I.-obsessed podcast, a portrait of a sclerotic organization more eager to prove it is not “Pale, male, & Yale” than to discharge its responsibilities.

Outstanding podcast
This is an informative and fun podcast, that peels back some of the layers of the Agency. I am writing a book that has a CIA element, and I want to know how to connect with someone within the agency that would be willing to help with realism. Any help would be greatly appreciated, but in the meantime I will keep listening. Thanks for this great project!

I ate this propaganda UP!!
This is top tier American imperialist propaganda. 😍😜 I didn’t listen to it but I’m sure they didn’t mention their black sites, you know, where they torture anyone who is a suspect. What about their other missions to destabilize communist countries through fake uprisings, coups, and propaganda like this. You probably have been shielded from learning about CIA’s atrocities, but they’re real and still happening…

The recruiter episode
Hi there. I love the idea for the podcast. Obviously, for me to listen to this either means I’m in that industry, which I am not or that I am just a big fan of the spy genre. I think a big question I had after the recruiter episode was why literally are you now doing a podcast and are recruitment numbers down or are they up? It would feel to the lamen like me that you’re doing a podcast because you see it as an avenue and something you need to do, not something you want to do. I think the number of applicants and how they have either improved or went down, would’ve been an important question. Looking forward to hearing more episodes and seeing how deep you can actually go. I doubt the depth is really gonna be there, but would love to hear about recruitment of specialties like snipers. Keep up the good work.

Spectacular
Amazing, best podcast ever.

Good history
Good info but should also go into what the agency offers besides cool 007 missions like what it takes to be a hairstylist/makeup artist or and architect anything office type work or even janitorial roles at the facility. When we think of the agency we think of SF guys going out doing stuff but we don’t think about what goes behind the scenes like the office people how’d the get their jobs with the agency.

CIA. 9/11
I accidentally found this podcast and was amazed to hear story of Naval Academy graduate who then was working at Pentagon and was terribly injured in attack on 9/11. His story is remarkable and he tells it with great courage. I’m awaiting Episode #3 This podcast humanizes the CIA!

ONE OF THE BEST EVER!!!!
Wow!! Just listened to File 018 (can’t wait to hear File 19 & 20; part II and Part III), highlighting Kevin’s heroic journey at 9:37AM on 9/11/01 when the hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 attacked our American patriots working inside the Department of Defense operations at the Pentagon. God Bless the 184 victims and their families who’s lives we will forever honor and continue to mourn. #NeverForget. What an amazing job tracking down this American Hero and having him share his insights and reflections on that life changing day. Kevin’s harrowing journey - expressed through excruciatingly painful details of his survival - amplifies the type of characteristics that every American (or global citizen for that matter) can apply in their own story of struggle, fatigue or rebirth. Big shout out to the Langley Files and the moderators for this awe-inspiring podcast! B. Green - Washington, DC

Tons of Potential
The hosts are funny and guests/stories very interesting. Desperately need to get the woke topics out and keep them out. Of all the things to bring out of the shadows, race and gender are by far the least important. They have also been wildly misused in the media. 80% of black people in America born to single mothers. Women having the opportunity to pursue careers because technologies developed mostly by men. The world is complex. An episode on the importance of handwriting skills is more valuable than discussing race and gender. There is no third gender either. Gender is a reference to pelvic bone structure and wearing a dress is the psychology term gender expression. Which is fluid by nature. Non binary fake news simply reinforces traditional gender roles this podcast tried to demonize. For an agency whose mission is so dependent on top tier pull out strategy. Failing to acknowledge the 80% birth rate of African Americans to single mothers isn’t very intelligent. Try doing a season void of woke themes and instead address things complained about in the reviews. Like talking about the importance of protecting Americans from countries who wish bad things upon us while also allowing policies which led to 169 people from the terrorist watch list being encountered by border patrol sneaking into the country by where my wife lives. And 11 million illegal immigrants who have been draining resources and committing crimes. If you can’t break the law. Why is the executive branch exclusively doing just that? Talk about why it is important you operate within the law. Focus more on technologies like the recon planes and cameras. The ultra high speed planes had cameras with ultra fast shutter speeds. A lot of people are into photography these days. Things everyone can get interested in. Leave social engineering to the dictators. Rhode Island, neither a road nor an island. Discuss.

All propaganda
This is a crock. Your tax dollars working to help people who hate you do damage to your family, freedom, and well-being.

Woke recruitment tool
The sentiment shared above explains it succinctly. This is programming for an agency that stopped caring for the people it purports long before our lifetimes, if ever.

Episode 14
Pathetic. The 2 host format does not work. Both girls were unprofessional. They wasted everyone’s time with unsubstantive questions and cringy giggles.

Disappointed
Made it until episode 14. Not only is this boring but these podcasts seem to be woke recruitment attempts to join an agency who has lost sight of their original mission.

Boring
Tried listening to it, seems like an attempt to bore people out of interest. Probably a clandestine information dump for active assets. LOL

Incredible Source of Knowledge
Thank you so much Walter and Dee for this amazing podcast! I find the Langley files to be insightful, inspiring, and impactful towards my interests with all things intelligence. I am looking forward to hopefully more content and maybe a season Two!! I hope this review helps towards this. Also would be cool to have a podcast covering what the CIA is doing towards Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing.

What's the point?
Why would we trust the same ppl to keep it real that have lied and murdered Americans for so long.

You could learn a lot from DIA’s podcast.
That is how you do an intelligence agency podcast.

I’m enjoying learning about this part of our government. It makes me feel so proud of our country to learn of the efforts and integrity of the people who keep us safe. Thank you for sharing with us.

Worst podcast of 2022
I was so excited to listen to this when I first heard about it. It turns out I was wrong, what a snooze fest. I gave up after 3 1/2 episodes. Not a single interesting story or guest.

Not great, not terrible
Way more boring than I was hoping for. I didn’t expect like a step by step retelling of how they participated in overthrowing of certain governments but I wanted more than a pitch from CIA HR about how to become a pencil pusher. There’s gotta be some more interesting history they can tell us.
Penaut69
Excellent show
Interesting background about what CIA does and the various methods used, and who does the work. I look forward to future seasons.

Tame and corporate so far
They pick easy things to talk about as far as “misconceptions” or “failures,” sometimes followed by a cringe-inducing chuckle. Assassination plots are “arguably undemocratic” but they don’t mention Patrice Lumumba by name, and so forth. They should listen to the FBI Retired podcast series, where retired agents talk about actual past cases, often sharing surprisingly frank assessments of what they and their agency could’ve done better (think Paul Rico). When JFK made Allen Dulles retire, he (JFK) spoke some diplomatic words about how CIA failures become known and successes are kept secret, etc. as the kind of face-saving language you use at that level at an official ceremony. Now it’s become their go-to formula each time they mention failure. CIA: Nobody’s asking you to put on sackcloth and ashes, but when you have a real history of actual human rights abuses, you need more than pizzicato strings and bland generalizations. Be humans showing human feelings about the harm the agency’s done to other humans.

Abysmally boring podcast from a couple classic dullards employed at the most evil and incompetent agency in the world.

Freedom lover #20
Hey!! I am a fan of history and science content that is actually interesting and tells the whole truth. I am not a fan of people who defend war criminals and an organization that is the source of carnage and death to so many people across the world.

Disappointed
I was excited to hear about this new podcast but I was expecting so much more. I gave it a chance and listened to first 4 episodes. Not worth the listen.

Nothing special or interesting that is being revealed
Very very basic information one could guess or find out. Nothing to capture the audience No stories.... Nothing... We can look up online how to get into the cia or process. We want to hear about declassified stories or even things we may not know about the cia that is interesting. Need to have a one person from the agency and then a random person who is not part of the agency that would have the burning questions that we as normal people would have

The cia is awesome and amazing at there job
I am a high school student I listen to there podcast and listen to the YouTube channel and go to the website time to time I love there history also I like the clandestine service I know it nothing like Hollywood likes to put it and like it still the missions from the past like project Azorian where they took the submarine I also like there inventions like like that spy plane the A-12 or other why’s known as oxcart also invention anyways I hope I one could join the C.I.A but I fear i never will because I got a little bit of autism and I have ADHD I am in special classes which means I will have to work very hard to get a real high school diploma and I am against covid vaccine but will look for way to join without it I won’t let any of that stop my ambition and determination I don’t know why some of the people who gave it one star think this pod cast is boring and I also know that the CIA has a bad rap because of Conspiracy theories I am conspiracy theorist too but I believe you change the bad to good anyways I find this podcast fascinating I was not expecting expecting bill burns to speak In the first episode which I am honored that he came to speak because I bet he got a really busy schedule being the Director of the cia anyways love listening to pod cast can’t wait for number ep 4 and good work Dee and Walter and have a good day and be safe out there

Podcast run by criminals
You’re terrible people and you should be ashamed for working for this awful agency. Look into anything the CIA has done, do you think they’ve magically started doing good things out of nowhere? No they’re still just criminals preying on poor people in 3rd world countries.
jimbojimmy22
no substance
Too short and topics are danced around without actually saying much. I get it you can’t disclose a lot but then why have a podcast feels too corporate millennial recruiting idea also the cia is bad
Best dress, fearless
Decent, But Could Be Better
Lots of very basic information about who CIA is, passed in an almost NPR style tone. It would be better if they offered more stories about successes and failures which are publicly acknowledged. I’m sure they’re very limited on that front, even as to whether they’re allowed to use open source, though. One thing for the hosts: Ep 2’s question has two answers, the one they gave, and Bush airport in Houston, TX.

Recruitment Goal In Three Steps
Mike, no disrespect with these suggestions. You killed it in this episode, if you hadn’t…wouldn’t have written. 1) Change the name of this Podcast to “The Langley Reports” 2) Search engines connect you with the SPECIFIC audience you are looking for 3) Directorate of Digital Innovation
