Elite Podcast, 5 Stars!
Thank you Kevin for your magnificent podcast. No matter the season, your show is must-listen, especially when Tommy is with you. Loved the “How Good Was He” episode, mine is Gary Clark, my favorite player as a kid. I still get chills every time there is a clip where John Madden says “Gary Clark plays WR like a LB.” This episode got me thinking, what past sports moments would I wish you and Tommy did a podcast for after the game. Here are five I thought of that I wish I heard in the moment from you and Tommy (excluding championships). 1. Duke at Maryland Men’s 2002 (Oh the Steal Game) 2. Maryland Men beat UMass, 1994 NCAA Tournament 3. Redskins at Bears Playoffs Jan 1988 (Darrell Green Punt Return) 4. Redskins beat Vikings Playoffs Jan 1983 (Would love you and Tommy talking about the potential Skins Jets Super Bowl) 5. Mariners at Orioles Game 4 1997 ALDS (Orioles Manager Davey Johnson sits Roberto Alomar against Randy Johnson for Jeff Reboulet on a gut feeling, then Reboulet hits a Home Run off Johnson in the first inning to kickstart a victory. Thank you always for your shows, Dustin Eastern Shore of MD, (formerly of College Park)

Get over the name
If you’re somebody that can’t get over the old name and wants it brought up on a weekly basis, this is the show for you. Unbearable to listen to each time it’s brought up. Otherwise has good analysis.

Taking political money now
Downgrading my 5-star to a 1-star because I loaded up and heard Obama start going on about election rigging. I can deal with ads but not the political stuff. Shame on you for selling out.

My Friend Kevin
I’ve been listening to podcasts for 18 years every day, countless hours and hours. My podcast rotation includes genres ranging from comedy and politics to sports. Kevin is not just a sports podcast host. He doesn’t know it, but he’s been with me (in my ears) through life’s up and downs, heartache, joy, and grief. Recently, my mom passed and the best way I could connect with my dad to get him through some tough times has been talking to him about the ‘skins, Tommy’s Florida trips, and the recent DC weather drama. When my mind is unsettled, Kevin is my comfort blanket. I’m smarter because I listen to him. Not just smarter about sports, but smarter about life, how to talk with folks, how to relate. This review was a long time coming. He’s the best.

Great
Great show. Best dc sports pod

Very valuable for DC sports fans
This is a tremendous listen for sports fans with ties to the DC area. Kevin speaks in an inviting, familiar, down-to-Earth way, covering stories just after they break, intelligently breaking down X and O’s, and hosting guests with fascinating insights. Sometimes he is a major homer, exempting teams from evaluation if they have too many injuries or finding hoops optimism when others can’t find any. Other times, he talks about the weather.

Kevin is the man
I listen to essentially all of Kevin’s shows. Love listening to his takes on all DMV sports (and even his weather talk). Suter is definitely my favorite guest, though all the guests are good and bring great insight into different teams/leagues. Suter’s film breakdown for the Commanders is informative and detailed and really helps you understand the strengths and weaknesses of our players and coaches. I usually agree with all of Kevin and Suter’s takes.

I listen everyday
Been an avid listener for years now and it’s time I pay back my dues and leave a review and 5 stars. Kevin is, of all the dc media personalities, the one I find myself the easiest to listen to day in and day out

Hide the report card!
Kev 5 stars as always. It will be two years to the day that you and Thom discussed the disgraceful NFLPA report care from captain Dan and his last voyage. After listening last week to the glowing report card I had to go back and find this POD. It’s so refreshing that we finally have adults running this proud franchise!

Tommy’s flu game
Hey Kev love the show, the chemistry with Tom is so good it sometimes feels scripted. And Tommys performance this week was akin to Jordan’s flu game! Both of you are true pro’s in the business.

Best DC Sports by far
Sheehan is one of the best interviewers around, his guests are often surprisingly good. Days with Tom have a Progressive vibe.

Love the Show
Love the show - I’ve been listening since the Pods inception and before that, I listened to Cooley & Kevin and the The Sports Fix! I really enjoy the banter between you and Thom; even when you get off sports topics and start talking about old TV shows, movies or actors/actresses. Keep up the good work and I hope you are able to get Steve S. back next season to break down games - I really miss Cooley’s breakdowns (he was my favorite Redskin), but Steve is equally as good!

Great cousins Interview
Hey Kev. Andre here from Washington DC but now living in Toledo Ohio. Been a fan of the pod since 2014 and i just wanted to give u your flowers for the Kirk Cousins interview. Great questions and even better responses from Kirk. Especially his knowledge about the shanahan and gruden trees, and how good Blough could be. Super smart and interesting points of view from him. I wasnt always the biggest believer in kirk but i definitely thought we could do way worse than him when he walked, hes the best qb ive seen for the team since becoming a fan in 2002(Other than JD5 obviously). But long story short. Great interview, i see why youve always held him in high regard. Classy, classy guy. Hope the best for him, he can still win games for someone.

Trump Propaganda
Been listening for over a decade so this is hard for me to do, but now that Kevin is running propaganda ads for the regime I cannot support his show

It’s not bandwagon
Hey Kevin, the word for our fan base isn’t bandwagon, it’s fair weather. Fans like showing up when we are good and disappear when we are bad. My family is the opposite, we show up to a game a year no matter what as out of towners, but we show up more when we are bad because the ticket prices are so cheap 😂

We need a Loverro Memoir stat!
When will this memoir be written? Kevin racing against hypothermia to find his car was a fantastic story, only to be topped by Thom parking on a church lawn and losing his keys at Midnight Mass while “trying to get his presents early.” This memoir needs to be written.

Kliff, Dan and the Deity
Hi Kevin, Love listening to your show especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I’ve recently moved from Gaithersburg to Walla Walla, WA but I still listen regularly. I’ve listened to you and Thommy discussing this season and the firing of KK and I have maybe a slightly different view of how it came to be. Dan Quinn is a very spiritual person, as you’ve discussed he often waxes lyrical at the beginning of his press conferences, at the very least you can say he’s a thoughtful man. Last season, it almost felt like Dan Quinn believed there was some sort of divine intervention at play. Everything just seemed to go right—like Thommy said, everything revolved around the sun (or son). JD5 took a lot of hits but managed to avoid serious injury, and every close call went the Skin’s way. Hell they nearly made it to the Superbowl!! Kevin, you were right to be concerned about all the designed runs and risky plays, but as long as JD5 kept getting up, there was little incentive to change course. This year has been the complete opposite. Injuries everywhere, and particularly effected was the QB, no one in their right mind would think there’s any divine intervention at play now. Thom’s question to DQ last year revealed just how concerned DQ was/is about potentially messing up a special quarterback. That’s why I think he’s realized Kliff Kingsbury was a little too willing to take major risks with a player who could define his legacy. Football is a violent game, but you have to be smarter than the risks Kingsbury seemed prepared to take. I know you might say but it was DQ’s decision to leave JD5 in that hopeless Seahawks game, but maybe that was his epiphany—the moment he realized football is just football, and the deity, if there is one, probably doesn’t care about the Skins’ injury report. From that point on, I think he understood that protecting JD5 isn’t about superstition or vibes. It’s about leadership, restraint, and recognizing when luck has already done you a favor. I think the reason he rested JD5 from the remaining games may have been to keep him away from KK.

Not The Skins…
I love the show and you would get a perfect 5 if it wasn’t for referencing the football team in DC as the Skins or Redskins. Jayden Daniels has never been either one. Stop it.

Same stuff
I love Thom, but I’m tired of Kevin with the constant name change talk.

Love the Show - A great listen
Hi Kevin, love the show! I have listened since 2020 when my dad put me on and the show has been my go-to ever since. The main reason I fell in love with the show is because you’re sharp in your analysis and you seem to “get it” as much as someone can that’s not in the building of a professional team. The great thing about listening to someone who’s sharp is disagreement typically makes good conversation. As this season has been brutal, I’ve had one major disagreement with you and it’s been… Dan Quinn. I haven’t really figured out the reason you trust in him so much. I did some research and Dan Quinn’s resume seems to be not much better than Ron Rivera’s if you just look at the numbers. And you were very adamant about Ron Rivera’s average career but didn’t seem to give Quinn the same treatment. Quinn’s Atlanta teams weren’t great on defense, one really good year and the rest average but not exactly great. He’s just above .500 as a head coach and if it wasn’t for Jayden he’d be close the being under that. I’m not defending him but we harp on Rivera all the time but he made the mistake of trying to be a GM and a head coach in a dumpster fire organization. Quinn has been average as a head coach and has had some BRUTAL defensive performances even before he got here (Last Dallas game he coached). I just don’t see where your trust in him comes from as he hasn’t proved to be elite in any stage of his career. Hope you can give your thoughts on this. Keep putting out ELITE content.

Love this show
Can’t wait to see what Kevin and Thom have to say about this team once the Hard Knocks cameras start rolling. It will certainly be more entertaining than watching the actual team play. Keep up the good work.

Question about Madrid
Hi Kevin! I love your show and listen daily. You and Thom make me laugh out loud. Thom’s lack of preparation and honesty are awesome. I’m one of those foolish people who decided to go to Madrid before the season went off the rails. I would love any suggestion for places to go during my 4 days in Madrid would be amazing!

Love the show!
As a late-in-life convert to the Skins, thanks to being stationed in the DC area from 2007-2011, I’ve loved your show from the first time I listened. I especially enjoy the banter between you and Thom. I’m now living in Panama and your show helps me feel connected to the Skins, NFL and DC sports. Thanks for what you and Thom do! PS: Good call in the 3 Musketeers … can’t find them in Panama and it’s one of my favorites.

Love the show, gotta check you on a phrase though
Kev - absolutely love the show, but you used the phrase ‘knuckle draggers’ in today’s (10/29) episode. I know you weren’t using the phrase in a bigoted context, but I can’t think of an appropriate one, so prob best not to use it anymore. Again, love the show, and Lavarro is the crazy uncle that shows up uninvited on Christmas Eve and wins the entire family over before mysteriously disappearing back into obscurity until the next family event draws him back into the fold.

Long overdue
Hey Kevin, longtime listener of this podcast. I could have sworn I rated this a 5 star show and left a review years ago. Better late then never, keep up the good work. Since moving out of the area this has been a must listen year around.

Kevin’s Best!
I’ve been listening to Kevin for 16 years and the fact that he is the only sports talk podcast I listen to and his daily show on 980 is the only show on the radio I listen to should be all you need to know!!!

Love the show. Suter is great- He talks like an uncle from Baltimore except he’s actually dropping knowledge rather than just throwing cliches and buzzwords around

Finally
Years of listening to Kevin breakdown the skins from the West Coast has kept me in touch with the team in a way that you just can’t get from the national press. Although long winded at times, Kevin’s jovial personality really shines during his banter with Thom, who is like your contrarian uncle complaining about the overcooked Thanksgiving turkey. I genuinely enjoy listening to the show and I’m not going to take it for granted while it’s here. So yes, I’m finally writing this review as thanks for the many hours of entertainment. 5 stars

The Best
No better place for intelligent analysis and discussion of DC sports, especially Commanders football. Not “sports-shouting,” which is so refreshing.

Best sports show in DC!
Kevin is absolutely fantastic. He’s really all I listen to. I look forward to listening to his shows at the end of each day! I can’t get enough

Great show
Kevin and Thom are great. Kevin sees the sports landscape similar to my perspective being a lifelong DMV’er. Great guests and good conversations on non sports stuff. Miss Cooley, but Souter is great. As Michael Scott would say, the show has an ‘oaky-after birth’.

By far the best show covering the Commanders. Kevin’s a longtime fan and has great guests. Suter picks up where Cooley left off with amazing film breakdown.
