It’s nice and informative

Really enjoyed the Johnson Wagner pod. Surprising/refreshing to hear Johnson speak so bluntly at times about his own club.

Some of the spots that he gets to host the outings are really great…. But then you realize you would have to spend the day with Andy Johnson and it’s a hard pass

Just listened to this podcast, excellent is all I can say. A full hour dedicated to the LPGA with thoughtful and insightful critique of the ladies tour.

Andy and Matt, you hit it out of the park on the Nebraska Sandhills episode. Super great information about the area, all the courses and recommendations for where to play. The suggested itinerary through the area from east or west was very helpful as I drive through Nebraska every April on my way to Boston. Thank you. Great episode! PS I agree with you completely about Wildhorse. Played there 3 years ago…one of my most enjoyable rounds ever.

The most studious of all golf architecture discussions has brought me back to the game I loved after a 25 year absence. Insights from all of those in love with the game, pushing the dirt, growing the grass, walking the land, and swinging the sticks.

Garrett (and sometimes Andy) does incredible work on the scripted episodes and the interview episodes. The talk-show style episodes are often a bit unfocused and overly long. Overall, a fantastic place to get deep insight into both current events and golf history that you won’t find in the typical golf press.

1. Timely topics discussed…for example, recent podcast ranking each hole at Augusta was a great way to get ready for the Masters. Consistently good golf course design topics I love the most. 2. Great interviews - example, great interview with David Cannon on golf photography, learned a lot, like how photography is more difficult today since players wear hats vs 40 years ago. 3. In and Out segment within podcast is a great way to keep up to date on current golf (and sometimes non golf) topics.

Andy and team are as good as it gets for the informed golf lovers out there. Humorous, smart, and witty. Garrett has taken the lead lately and he is wonderful at what brings to the pod. No filler or bros here - this is the best of new golf media.

Why is Joseph on the show so frequently? He has no personality, is not entertaining or funny in the slightest, and nothing he says is nearly as insightful as he thinks it is. Why is he given this platform on the podcast? Andy, I feel like you’re diluting your own brand by having him on the show so frequently. Everything he says is very smarmy, and is said with the air that he thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, all while delivering fairly obvious points. Why not give Will Knights a chance on the pod? I just don’t think Joseph is the answer. Long time listener, because of Andy, but really not enthused about the direction of the pod with Joseph on.

Love the show despite you still not doing an episode about the Fried Egg lie or how to get out of it. Still waiting!

I’ve learned a lot from this podcast. Love the ones with Garrett, especially the recent Paul Runyan and Sunningdale episodes.

If you like long drawn discussions of the NFL, interminable ad reads, and the most over sensitive and whiny defenses of the city of Chicago (think Mike Wilbon but with a more high pitched voice), then you’ll love this podcast. Sadly, when they actually talk golf it’s really good.

Really great contribution to the discussion of golf course architecture

Hands down, best show I’ve listened to. How C. B. Macdonald “found” Seth Raynor and the mutual respect these polar opposites developed, was a story within the story. Garrett’s insightful questioning is revealed again, when he asks the author a question he hadn’t considered in the five years spent researching and writing the NGLA history. Keep the great questions and content coming.

Seems like a compromised company. Not a lot of honest arguments regarding technology or course setup.

This podcast fills me with all the golf knowledge I could ever want. It brings me so much thought provoking content related to the world of golf course architecture and the growing interests of construction, agronomy, psychology, and landscape. They bring a tasteful nerdy-ness and walk it through to enlighten and excite your average to scratch golfer. They speak with the most influential people in the business and highly recommend any Yolk with Doak. Enjoy!

The show has been pretty interesting and has made it into the official lineup for podcasts I’ll check for new episodes. There is some interesting discourse on course layouts and tournaments which I enjoy.

I just simply cannot listen to Andy’s voice. It makes me very sad because I love the content. Keep it up boys

This is a great pod. They hit on a range of topics that span the sport of golf. I really enjoy the architecture dives. It’s thoughtfully created and worth the investment if you enjoy the game.

As a busy father of four (ages 5-12), I am currently renewing my passion for golf now that I can take the kids out to play. Love the Pod, from course discussions, current events, yoke w Doak, and especially the Superintendent Series. I worked on the grounds crew at Old Waverly in West Point MS during the 99 US Women’s open. Hearing the insights from the vertebrae of the golf world is delightful. Especially since these are some of the most colorful characters in the golf world!

By far the best golf podcast for architecture, history, deep dives, and insight into recreational and professional golf. Never a bad episode.

I am a huge fan. I love the stuff you guys do. I just wish I could understand why “golf course” guys 1. Hate trees. 2. Have such a condescending tone when it comes to those that disagree with a ball roll back. Other than that! Keep up the awesome work..

Exceptional stuff on the Masters wrap pod! I was riveted listening to the stories shared by Andy & Garrett on their personal journeys into golf journalism and the Masters impact on fostering their love of the game and how their recent experiences stirred that nostalgia. Definitely got me reminiscing about the Masters of my youth. Some of your best work, gents!

Each episode is entertaining and also quite educational on golf course design. It brings new appreciation to the sport.

My go to pod and has been for years.

It’s always a great day when I get to listen to Brendan so I appreciated hearing him on this side of the aisle. The first segment on Scottie was great, but I loved how it was a little bit of everything. Well done and I vote to keep the format 👍

This golf podcast has given me a greater appreciation for golf than any other media I’ve consumed. So much to learn here, all the different hosts bring something special.

I don’t want to call The Fried Egg an acquired taste because of the negative connotation associated with that term, but it did take me a while to get it. As a newer golfer, I didn't understand the point of architecture and how it separates good from great golf courses, but Garrett and Andy do a great job of explaining the why behind golf architecture and make it interesting. Their conversations with guests are intriguing and have helped to give more meaning to golf for me.
