Great pod
But not a fan of the new music…

The most fair political show
I love the dispatch. It is the most even keeled show out there. No bluster, just honest takes without the hyperbole. I do miss Sarah though, I know she’s a wicked smart lawyer, but she had the best contrarian takes on the political roundtable!

Steve’s audio
Is Steve’s audio adjusted to 1.5?? Can’t he just talk better (more succinct, less wind up in his questions, take a class on public speaking?) it’s eerie and fake sounding listen to adjust his audio like yall did. I appreciate the idea but it doesn’t work

Gun control
I appreciate the integrity and congeniality of everyone on this podcast. Steve is a great host.

I LOVE THE DISPATCH
I am a center right listener. If you want consistency fair, true, and honest journalism, this is the place On another note. If you are listening to the episode JD Vance war on fraud, and you get to the part on the recession of teenage dating, another factor they missed is pornography. From what I have seen, it plays into the phenomenon to a large extent

Great Podcast!
One of my favorite and must listen to podcasts.

I’m not sure where you’re shopping to be paying $16 a gallon for milk. I think it might be time to shop somewhere else.

Not objective
Marketed as objective but clearly not. They need to buy a mirror and do some self reflection. Clearly there is extremism on both sides and they claim to be the conservative confronters of the extreme right but their definition of the extreme ropes in far more approaching near moderates. They seem to be on mission to sell a less than conservative agenda. That is giving liberals justification to dislike conservatives.

Like these guys
I am not a political junkie, but this show makes me feel like someone else sees that the emperor has no clothes. Sometimes I feel like I am the only Christian that feels so much dissonance with our current administration. This podcast helps me feel a little more normal. That could be a very dangerous statement.😂

Stephen Richer
Please please please have Mr. Richer on again at some point. What an incredibly thorough yet concise explanation of so many things that have been jumbled over the last six years. His calm, extremely well informed, rational, logical explanations of not only his view points, but the view points of those who disagree with him was incredibly valuable. We need more people like him. Thank you for what you do.

Is Donald Trump’s Golden Age Here
I found Megan’s analysis of the bizarre, never-ending need for affirmation by Trump, Saddam, et al to be spot-on. If you look at narcissism as a medical/psychological issue rather than merely a distasteful ego-centric personality trait, you might find the true source of the problem. I know Psychiatrists are ethically prohibited from diagnosing anyone who isn’t their patient, but I think it would be so informative to have an expert on narcissism discuss the behaviors/needs/reactions/etc of true narcissism. It is an illness, and, beyond any doubt, the President has it. Perhaps a better understanding how to respond to it, particularly in an elderly person, would be constructive.

Do we really need another anti Trump Pod?
I always thought dispatch set out to be more of a center right or conservative outlet. This podcast it seems like almost every episode is yet more anti Trump content. The problem with that at least for me is that perspective is covered in literally every single legacy media outlet all day 24-7. It’s over done, it’s well covered already, even I think the dispatch has great journalists.

Land the plane
I like your podcast. I listen to it every week. My one complaint is that while I like David French, that man never lands the plane. Listen to the podcast I am referring to. During the first 50 minutes he probably took up 40 minutes. Jonah got in about 2 minutes. I found myself having to fast forward part of his commentary and even that took time to do. I like that people get to express there opinions but I think he might like hearing himself talk more than the audience does. Other than that the Podcast is great.

Arrogance runs deep
They’ve perfected the art of saying they’re not victims blaming while doing exactly that. And apparently they side w/Trump on guns - I guess the 4th Amendment is not appropriate for liberals.

Please get rid of Jonah and Megan
Again reminded and resending “He and she are so so wrong on EVERYTHING!” Again!!!!

Not worth your time/ Monday round ups
I’d love to hear the “not worth your time” type topics in separate shows. The more you guys can give commentary on things happening, the better

Jonah and Sarah are the best
Jonah and Sarah are the saving graces of this show. Glad that Sarah has been on a couple times recently, keep bringing her back! She and Jonah add thoughtful discussion and questions to what often can feel like an echo chamber of all the same opinions.

Not worth Your Time?
It really is worth my time. Including that segment in all its variations. I like the cultural, personal opinions. It humanizes the hosts for me in a way the political takes never will. I don’t agree with a fair amount of the conservative opinions but I like all the hosts and therefore listen and consider different viewpoints than my own. I listen to The Dispatch because it’s smart and sane and trustworthy. The personal touch adds a lot for me. And I would listen to Megan talk about food all day every day.

Good podcast sans Isgur
Always a great and educational back and forth among host and panelists. One of the most thoughtful and best podcasts out there! However, if they introduce Sarah Isgur in the intro just delete and wait until next week. She has nothing to add other than the hackiest anti-anti-Trump talking points. Her arguments are the most rote and predictable nonsense that we’ve all sadly become used to in the latest political era. Your ears will bleed from her voice and attempt to not sound like a cross between Scott Jennings and Meghan Kelly. Other than that - great podcast!

Look forward to The Dispatch Podcast every week
On Not Worth Your Time segment, Steve’s addition to it, I enjoy it! Somedays, well a lot of days lately, the regular news can be a downer. Listening to you folks talk about food, books even parking cars can bring a bit of levity to the day and it’s good to hear your laughter and good natured kidding. It certainly brightens my cold January days. Thank you Steve!

Smart and succinct
This show as are all Dispatch podcasts is an informative discussion on pertinent topics that occupy the current news cycle as well as personal takes on a non-imperative topic; the ‘not worth your time’ final minutes.

Bulwark 2.0
Still like it slightly better than the Bulwark, but the whole podcast is the dump on Trump hour. Weekly repeating predictable echo chamber.

Hypocrisy
“America is good and moral.” I used to think so too, as a kid, until I saw what you voice, that “good & moral” are selectively applied. For example, you fail to acknowledge that Palestine was betrayed & robbed in 1948 and that there’s nothing moral about US support of Israel’s efforts to remove them from the equation. A fair division of the land is required for peace. I’ve yet to hear you express recognition that Israel is acting immorally.

I enjoy the pleasant repartee of the panel as well as informative takes on the major news stories of the week. Megan has been a nice addition to the mix.

Weird
Disagree. Lazy and stupid? Let anyone try to maintain the schedule he’s maintaining. You can’t cheat my lying eyes. Who really is lazy and stupid? One might accuse him of being sleep deprived.

New host talks too much
Love the Dispatch. Used to love this podcast in particular, but Steve seems to do less “hosting a discussion,” and more presenting a series of monologues to which he allows brief responses. You’ve got great panelists! Let them panel!

This pod has lost its way
I used to like this podcast because they had a wide variety of guests and seemed committed to understanding different points of view and learning. Now it’s just a lot of navel gazing about how the dispatch is so journalistically superior and too much complaining about Trump. He is president and we are stuck with him for 3 more years. It’s fine to talk about the administration but the constant ranting about his character flaws when it won’t change anything is just boring. I miss Sarah. Now, it’s not worth my time…

Ad Volume
I enjoy the roundtables & other interviews - don’t always agree, but I understand – healthy tension, etc. I am an old school listener, willing to listen to ads for the content. However, you have some advertisers whose ads are played at a much higher volume than the show volume - and the other ads(Chevy is a repeat offender). Please understand that this is a counterproductive (at least for me) as the first thing I do when they come on is scramble for the volume control(not in a good way).

Love the show, but.
I really enjoy the discourse on this show and have learned a lot. However, I can hold two things at once. I can hate the destruction to the East Wing and pay attention to the other nonsense this administration is doing. I have no opinion about a ball room but his lying and destruction of the people’s house is emblematic of the perils of this current administration.
Janet Bean
I’m sure you’re smarter than I am . . .
I love you guys, but have to say I struggled with the episode on the demolition of the east wing. As a fiction author who runs Facebook ads, I’ve been taught my goal with ad images and book covers is to “stop the scroll.” Images of the wreck of the White House wing stopped it for me. Yes many things, like the bombing of Venezuelan boats, are more egregious. However, I had a visceral reaction to the demo images. It was so incredibly disrespectful to US citizens, it was a gut punch. Trump definitely distracted us from the one good thing he’s done - getting the Israelis hostages back. It was a clear reminder that he’s the worst thing to happen to this country since Pearl Harbor.

Look forward to no more Sarah Isgur. If she’ll drop advisory opinion then I can start listening to that again.

Breath of Fresh Air
Excellent overview of a few important topics going on in politics for the week. Generally down the middle with some good criticism of both side of the aisle. This is a very good listen to get some challenge of one’s personal views and to consider different perspectives.

Absolutely Love
I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I love The Dispatch! I’m a high school senior currently, and I’ve been listening since 2021. The Dispatch has played a large role in my desire to go to college for public policy. Thanks to TD and AO, I’ve learned about media literacy, fact-checking, law, and what careers in those fields can look like. Obviously ever news outlet has some bias, but I appreciate these podcasts for being upfront about it. I’ve learned more from The Dispatch these past few years than from some of my social studies classes in school. Thanks for doing what you do, and happy 6th anniversary!

Please don’t be creepy
Please stop making comments objectifying women (‘easy on the eyes’, etc). It’s just creepy. Several of the men on this show have mentioned that they have daughters. Taylor Swift is someone’s daughter too. Not the first time a comment like this has been made on this and other Dispatch shows. All seem to be upstanding people otherwise, so I’m hoping this is just a blind spot that is easily corrected.

What’s the point?
After years of listening to this weekly pod, I unfollowed the show. What’s the point of this weekly pod? It’s usually done to early in the week to really be a week in review type panel. It’s mostly just an hour of ranting against Trump. We get it. You don’t like Trump. He’s unqualified, he’s uniquely dangerous. Learn a new tune. Good grief.

Intellectual Idiots with TDS
You can reliably turn to the intellectuals at The Dispatch for the latest in Trump-hatred. At least Sarah gives Trump credit where it’s due; the rest are a bunch of snobs who can’t understand why politics doesn’t conform to the perfection of their ideas.

Kevin the a*hole
Kevin Williamson is one arrogant dude. This “I am going to riff on a topic and you are going to accept my wisdom” style is what can be annoying about the old men running the dispatch.

Disappointing that the “mean girl” spirit was out in this one. And the guys didn’t address a lot of the substance or the value of looking at people in the eye when communicating major changes. And no one has said Trump is perfect, but staring at impeachments, imprisonment, and bankruptcy from your political enemies and winning a presidential election should earn him a little “battle” street cred. The one with Johnathan Martin- nothing insightful said I’ve been pretty rough on this group, but the ep with Williamson, Stirewalt and Mcardle was very good. Interesting, moved along well, Jonah was funny. Good stuff. Rivaled a good Editors podcast this time. Steve is meandering again on that Iraq syndrome podcast. Jonah, the “remnanty preening” has gotten out of hand. And I say this from my own experience with partners, David and Steve will keep pulling you down into a struggling enterprise. The little “flagship” beef with Sarah should have also clued you in. No one is asking you to be Seb Gorka, but use your knowledge and background to stand for what is really right and not some weird “I am the only one who can identify the dangers” routine. Seriously get out of this quagmire.

Dump Sara
This is a repeat of a former post, keep Sara off your podcast! She is arrogant, incredibly irritating (and just goes on forever) and usually wrong. I like everyone else and generally agree with your points.

Charlie Kirk’s Death Roundtable
Discussion was good overall. I take issue with two things 1. Claim that both sides expressed “Political violence is never acceptable …. “ but failing to acknowledge the instantaneous pivot of majority left to politicization on gun control. 2. Discussion point in the episodes conclusion that political violence is prevalent on both sides. Perhaps another episode can delve deeper into examples these past few years — and how the political base reacts to their sides violent actors. Go back to Gabby Giffords, Scalier, Floyd / Covid and how media processed the events. This panel fell short and could’ve done better

Worth listening
Historically, I have really enjoyed the Dispatch. But recently I have really missed Sarah Isgur. I feel like she was the zest of the show and provided an appropriate amount of levity and asked really thoughtful questions. I also am not loving the addition of Megan McArdle. I am fine hearing opinions I disagree with. I find I often have a different viewpoint than Jonah and David. But Megan's takes are just bad. In my opinion. Still worth a listen every now and again though.

Good Show
I really appreciate these guys. They’re all smart and articulate. But if you’re up to date on the news, they’re not telling you much that you don’t know. They’re just telling you what they think about it. I wish they would occasionally talk about what they think we as American citizens can do about the horrendous state of our politics, our nation and our world.

Not a partisan podcast
The round table episode on the assassination of Charlie Kirk is a perfect example of the kind of analysis and reporting the Dispatch does. They were honest and tactful (a thing many talking heads in media and politics seem to think is impossible). They provided insight and non-partisan, non-whataboutism takes. They provided concrete examples to support their arguments. They hit on underlying cultural challenges that precede and will outrun even this dark news. Thanks for being voices of reason and for engaging in the open debate and good faith discussion that is hated and for which you yourselves have received threats.

Charlie Kirk Discussion
I’ve been listening to and reading all of these people for years and their evolution into Politico was so gradual I didn’t even notice. I haven’t read anything of French’s stuff in years, not because he’s anti-Trump, I am too but he projects such an arrogant demeanor and a strong desire to both sides everything. Now his concern is that the few “crazies” who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death will rile up the right to violence without that having ever been the case before. You know, those fringe crazies like Stephen King. I had the same reservations about Charlie Kirk as Jonah and Kevin but maybe you all should have rethought the decision to air this one. I get Kevin thinks you should be able to have that discussion, fine, I think you still don’t need to, especially the day after. They were pretty much having the same discussion on every other podcast without feeling the need to balance things. I fell like this wasn’t one of your finest.
