Sarah as host
Sarah constantly interrupts the flow of the conversation. Can anyone else please take on the hosting role (at least occasionally) for those of us who need a break? —- Thank you for making Steve the new host! Adding a star! Another week with Steve as host! Thank you! Adding a fourth star!

I have tried
Sarah is the closest to the middle as any pundit aired. I have tried to listen to this pod. I have followed and unfollowed again. This is because I will hear some opinions that have seemed so far from not only reality but when a pundits identity is hard Zionism and seem incapable of seeing the horror. I have listened to doctors who have volunteered to help the Palestinians. They come back consistently with the same pattern of point of view. This is happening. The last episode I listened to seemed far removed from reality. If you have not been to Gaza ( probably would not be allowed br the Israelis) then what do you really know? Opinions are not true. The truth is not objective. It is non objectively the truth. Stopping the Israeli government to take a beat does not mean you are anti Jew. Unreal Proof? You’re not connected. Easy to create a story in your mind than face what is really happening. Average age 18 Children are dying. Israel is slowing aid. Over 50,000 have died. Gaslighting? Should be ashamed. The future will reveal where the US is headed.

Exceptional
All of the folks on the show are experts who think deeply about the issues we face, from economic problems to foreign policy issues. They are definitely center right and have lots of ideas about what conservatism should look like, rather than what it looks like now. While this might make some Trump supporters angry, I feel that what the Dispatch represents is actually how the majority of Americans feel. The only reason that we have this ugly system is that it’s the extremes who crowd out the air space. If you are center left or center right or just a sane pragmatist who would like to see free trade, free speech, and common sense government, then you will like this show (even if you don’t always agree with their analysis). They also have wonderful guests and showcase new books that are important reads to stay well-informed. I subscribed a few months ago to their newspaper after listening to their podcasts for months now. A home for the politically dispossessed who are actually the sane majority. Love!!

David French is the worst
As a paying subscriber to the Dispatch, I really like this show except when David French is on. If I want to listen to someone only complain about Trump, I’d listen to the Bulwark. When he’s not there, it’s pretty great. Gosh I wish they’d stop inviting him.

Coke and MAHA Moms... Is it worth your time?
I have been a MAHA mom for my whole lifetime as a mom...four decades, descendent of a MAHA mom before MAHA was MAHA. My mom is one of the OG MAHA moms. In Texas,it is Coke. Every soda is a Coke. On the podcast... "Would you like a Coke? Yes, I'll have a 7-Up." Coke. I am in healthcare. Although it doesn't make it good for you, yes the Mexican Coke is better for you and tastes better because God made sugar not corn syrup. He gave us the capacity in His image in a fallen state to create corn syrup. So there's that. American Coke is in a fallen state in all iterations, except for Mexican Coke. As far as the best Coke, I can't believe none of you mentioned Big Red. Clearly the best Coke, soda, or pop, ever... is Big Red. My mom, the OG, never purchased soda (she's from upstate New York) or had them in the house, in my memory, ever. They probably don't even make it anymore because red dye & high fructose corn syrup… By the way, my kids grew up calling them "special drinks" because they only got them on Fridays for pizza and a movie night and it was always Izzes. They were embarrassed, and I was confronted when they realized not everybody called them "special drinks." Homeschooling mom fail. 😂

Mouths full of laughter
Pretty, pretty good.
Jonah Goldberg, Kevin Williamson, David French & Steve Hayes are entertaining and informative. Deducting one star for Sarah Isgur’s terrible, bad faith “devil’s advocate” takes that soil many an episode.

Sarah Isgur Rules!
I came to the Dispatch from listening to Left Right and Center on KUOW which is also a great podcast. I have been traditionally left of center in my political views, but I have found it more and more imperative to listen to varying views, as culture etc changes. I love the Dispatch for being balanced, researched, reasoned and consistent. One measure I employ when finding analysis that I trust is consistency. Analysts who strive to be able to apply the same standards to their own views that they do to opposing views and vice versa. Thank you to the Dispatch for your hard work and devotion to principles.

Jonah, exit this crew
Steve is meandering again on that Iraq syndrome podcast. Jonah, the “remnanty preening” has gotten out of hand. And I say this from my own experience with partners, David and Steve will keep pulling you down into a struggling enterprise. The little “flagship” beef with Sarah should have also clued you in. No one is asking you to be Seb Gorka, but use your knowledge and background to stand for what is really right and not some weird “I am the only one who can identify the dangers” routine. Seriously get out of this quagmire.

This interview is truly offensive In retrospect of her positive vote and later comments re the ‘Big Bil’ that it will hurt many in our country and the House should fix the Bill. I was a fan and was going to get her book. Not now.

Bring back Sarah
Steve is a terrible host and annoying. Also, having Mike Warren on every episode now is making me not want to listen anymore. Used to be a good podcast even though I have some strong disagreements with most of the panelists. Go back to what it was several months ago and it would be enjoyable again.

Episode on LA
I am a longtime Dispatch member and admirer of this podcast. I’ve been around since Steve Hayes and Jonah Goldberg started it, and I am continuously glad that they have. I’m a liberal (mostly) but have really grown to appreciate the kind of conservatism I see at the Dispatch. I’m also bummed Sarah Isgur won’t be hosting this particular podcast, she’s the best! I didn’t really know where to write this, but the episode on recent events in LA made me feel like there was a large viewpoint left out. Sarah Isgur mentioned that people were rioting, because ICE was doing its job. In my estimation, i think a lot of people are protesting (and yes, some rioting- which I don’t agree with) because of lack of process- lack of warrants, just grabbing people, and of course, now we know that some people were sent away when they shouldn’t have been. This didn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere in that last episode, and maybe I’m missing something, but it seemed really important. Otherwise, hats off!

Mitch and Jamie
Jamie has an extremely difficult job at times. Mitch Landrieu is a difficult guest as he dodges every non-softball question. And since Jamie doesn’t ask very many of those, he was dodging for most of the interview. Landrieu does the democrats no favors because he won’t acknowledge that there is a problem and until there is acknowledgement, there can be no fixes. And if there are no fixes, we will continue to have the worst scenario of choosing the lesser of two very very bad, sometimes evil options.

MAGA Lefty Interview
Kudos to Jamie and Adam for booking this guest. I can’t imagine any Dispatch listener agrees with that person. It gets cringe level bad at times. But I appreciate you taking big swings and doing the work. Can’t predict the amount of rage comments that will follow that interview, but excited to see them.

5/4 Jamie Weinstein does great interviews
I love many aspects of Dispatch podcasts-I can never unsee Sarah’s tattoos, Jonah’s monologues inspire, educate and remind me what I liked best about smoking pot in college, and David French is one of the best things to emerge from Christian Fundamentalism since a capella music - but I want to shout out Jamie’s interviews. He is dogged, fair, and has a fantastic range of guests. Such as the 5/4 guest that I now know I never need listen to again. This is no one-POV-fits-all bunch of folks.

Great discord
Always impressed with the guests. Love the banter and the various takes on events. Just a wonderful listen. Shout out to Mike Warren as I always under estimate him and then he makes 2 or 3 references/comments that make me donut takes.

Great but…
Would be a great podcast because of the regulars but unfortunately Sarah Isgur thinks it is her podcast and won’t stop interrupting everyone. She is talking 3 times more than all the other dispatch members. I will keep checking to see if there is improvement, because I would like to listen more often.

I do like the people and enjoy their podcast, but they say some crazy things. Jonah said the rights policing itself is the reason the dems are now in the minority…. I have never heard a more out of touch sentence in my life. Mitt romney and Jeff flake are the self policing branch of the gop. Liz Cheney. They were run out of town. The gop is in power due to their willingness to lie about everything and focus only on power. Your friends are intellectual dorks who make good faith arguments, which is why I like your pod, but that is not mainstream conservatism now or at any point on the last 20 years!!!

Center left?
I always thought dispatch set out to be more of a center right or conservative outlet. This podcast it seems like almost every episode has more of a center left perspective. The problem with that at least for me is that perspective is covered in literally every single legacy media outlet. It’s over done it’s well covered already..

Unfollowing this Lincoln project podcast
Jonah said Trump is to blame for the assassination attempt on his life. Let that sink in. Except for Sarah, these guys hate Trump more than they love America. You'll hear them put down Republicans/conservatives far more than you'll hear them ever saying anything bad about a leftist. Listen to them contort themselves to stick up for the Hunter Biden laptop debacle by the media. Jonah even admitted that the Trump trial was a farce, but stated Trump had it coming, so it's OK. How un-American.

Big fan of these folks and their mission in journalism and commentary. Who are all these ghouls whose best argument is “waaaaah Sarah is annoying”? Get a life, Dispatch doesn’t need such listeners

Lib on the left leaning towards the middle
I began listening to The Dispatch a few years back when I wanted to understand why people were MAGA supporters. More and more, I found in my values in common with voices that supported the Constitution and visions of the founders. After October 7th, the extreme left criticism I had previously thought was overblown by the right, was exposed. Although I always liked compromise and never thought extreme views on either side were constructive, I felt the middle ground was somehow skewed and polarizing was exhausting and depressing. Your Brianna Wu interview was so inspiring in that seemed to break down walls and opened doors for hope of a return of a more independent country that people from all walks of existence could see a common vision of some basic humanity and conservative ideas about how Americans can live together in peace. While I never agree with all the views on the Dispatch, (and in fact Stephen Hayes views in 2020 were deeply cringe worthy), your criticism of the left is fair. Unfortunately, dems, pro democracy conservatives, and independents have not been able to find common ground to make a difference yet. Hopefully the more balanced interviews like Brianna Wu will help to make this happen.

Sarah…
Gosh Sarah is so smug. But if you can make it through that, the pod is a good discussion. Too bad someone else doesn’t host.
Presidential Ethics
SARAH IS INSUFFERABLE
I’m not sure if she’s on the spectrum, but she has no ability to read the room & navigate discussions without making a joke, or making points that are the opposite or dominating the convo with stories about herself.she sets the tone & dominates the podcast & honestly it’s doing her a disservice not to coach her on social norms - she either can’t read the room or chooses not to.

Sarah…oof
Sarah’s most recent sidebar about inviting Yuval to dinner was the most pathetic moment of her long history of featuring her personal life on Dispatch podcasts. It’s just getting old. I listen, but not attentively.

I cannot do it
It know how lame it is to leave a comment as a review, but the podcast on 2/28/25 drove me to it. It was a substantive, serious discussion, punctuated by the ghoulish bothsidesism and mirthful laughter of Sarah Isgur. I fear her desire to score partisan points, have the cleverest argument, and be the center of attention FAR outweighs her ability to register the gravity of events, and respond accordingly. I cannot listen to this podcast anymore. It is precisely people like Sarah, who treat politics as a fun partisan game to be won, rather than a serious undertaking to determine who best to represent and defend America, is how we got here.

Great interview of CC
Excellent! Made me laugh and cry at the end. It is SO REFRESHING to hear the truth about who Trump really is instead of what good people are saying about Trump on their way to “ getting there” ie “ yeah, NO, this is not ok”. As for the people who never will, god save us.
Walks talks and sews
One of my favorite political podcasts
I’ve been listening to the podcast since the 2020 election and generally really enjoy the discussions. I don’t agree with all of their viewpoints, but how does one grow without hearing from the other side? I took off one star because I often feel Sarah is condescending and mostly only chimes in if it’s to criticize democrats. I do miss David French being a regular.

I can’t do it, even if I want to
I find Sarah so obnoxious. Talking down to everyone on the show and the audience like we are children. Her voice is also very annoying. I am interested in the topics and individual contributors, but as much as I want to listen, I just can’t do it anymore.

Solid content; needs better editing
Solid, even-keeled content that provides sober analysis and great interviews. Some of these comments need to get over themselves. Doesn’t bat a thousand, but who does? Keep on, especially Sarah. Only major downside is that the editing in post is often wonky. Parts get skipped or replayed and that really messes with the listening experience.

Research is for Suckers??
The discussion about jus soli v. jus sanguinis is a valid one to have. But I think it’s reasonable that even in round tables the “legal eagle” (Sarah) would better serve the discussion with some research, a quick dive into Library of Congress info may have been useful. I honestly tire of her authoritative tone that often masks a personal opinion as fact. If ya don’t know something and don’t have time to research, maybe table it or state the limits of your knowledge in the moment??

“Arkansas wasn’t even a state yet”
For someone like Norquist who seems to wants to position himself as some anti-Washington outsider activist, he certainly hasn’t learned MAGA speak very well when he says things like this. I’m sure he thought he “made a funny” but he needs to remember that he’s not having lunch with a crony at the Capitol Hill Club, but speaking to a national audience. Very 2000 of him.

For the love of Dispatch, No more Megan!
As a 40-something, fiscally conservative, socially centrist female who found a “home” at The Dispatch, I have to respectfully request that you never-ever-ever-ever again invite Megan McArdle on as a guest. Her most recent commentary on the private healthcare insurance system in the US was so tone-deaf and elitist, that it made me want to immediately unsubscribe. Instead, I chose to listen to the entirety of the discussion, and came away with a deep sense of disappointment at her lack of perspective and personal commentary that wreaked of privilege. I grew up in, and now raise a family in a very upper-middle-class environment. Our monthly healthcare premiums are more than our mortgage, and it’s completely unaffordable to even use this “coverage.” Back in the early 2000’s while I was in college, I was hit by an elderly, uninsured driver and left with thousands of dollars in medical debt and saddled with a corresponding credit score. Our system is broken. We CAN do better, and Megan’s analysis is gross, and at best, wholly uninformed.

Great to Hear Informed Viewpoints From Across the Aisle
As a policy centrist but social liberal, I’m a big fan of The Dispatch and Sarah Isgur in general. While her opinions can definitely grind my gears at times, it’s great to hear view points that I can often relate to, even if it’s not always in the same context. That being said, I also have great appreciation for the work that everyone else puts into this show. I would, however, not be a listener, had I not been an avid fan of Left, Right, and Center. Whether you’re conservative or liberal, it’s always good to hear various viewpoints so you can be well informed. Give this podcast a shot - even if you don’t agree with everything, you can come to appreciate the common ground. Shows like this make me miss the days where we could talk about politics (and I’m only 33).

Barely got through this and probably won’t be back.
I was expecting balance based on what someone else told me and clearly this is not that; when you just look at the backgrounds of these people, they are clearly very right leaning. What is ‘non-partisan, conservative perspective’, supposed to mean? No, this is partisan for sure. If you want balance it’s not this, these folks have a very clear right slant so if you like that this might be for you.
