Pro-Israel, pro-corporate bias 🫤
Not a great news source anymore. The disingenuous "both side-ism," shameless pro-Israel bias, and all-around weak political coverage in the face of authoritarianism is so disappointing. NYT isn't about speaking truth to power or acting in the public interest.

No BS, no frills
As a retired journalist from an international news agency, I truly appreciate the amount of work and research going into each episode. They practice true journalism, call a duck a duck and adequately source their reporting.

Great podcast! But referring to the podcast on 3/25, it’s disappointing that Rachel and Patty continue to pronounce ‘Qatar’ as ‘cutter’. It is disrespectful to your audience. Please take a second to learn the correct pronunciation

Love the pod, especially the weekend interviews especially with Michael. I wish Natalie wouldn’t interrupt so much!

Seriously?
As much as I enjoy the podcast, the constant need for a subscription is quite annoying. I mean, you claim the subscription is only for “old news”, yet even episodes from 3 days ago are behind a paywall. How is something from 3 days ago “old news”? At least give us free users 5-7 days to listen to an episode before paywalling it forever.

Florida Gas Episode 3/27
Great reporting on the Florida gas crisis episode on March 27. The interviews were great and I appreciate the raw emotion that the producers let come through from the guests. The gas station owner sounds like a stand up guy!

The View of the War from Fl…
I love the daily, this was a great episode and awesome reporting. I appreciate you found people to interview that were so earnest, and also more moderate. I believe the majority of Americans are not at the extremes, but they get the most attention. More of us that are just right or left of the middle need to be heard, and get involved. Excellent reporting .

Clearly Pro-Trump
It’s obvious that this media giant is terrified of the president and is carrying his water. “Get ready for higher energy prices everybody. It’s fiiiiine.”

Pause and Think for a Moment
You guys show so much bias! Even though I am a hard democrat it doesn’t mean that Republican’s point of views shouldn’t be heard. All this to say, even though I don’t agree with what they do, it’s still important to understand what everyone thinks! And that is vital for a strong community, which America is struggling with right now. Also, the latest things have ALL been about Trump! I don’t like it! He wants attention, money, and power, so stop giving him those three things and talk about a serious problem throughout the WORLD like climate change, or Sudan’s war! All this to say I hope you take this into account and really think about who you’re giving your power to, a dictator or people in need of health care, money, food, and support for all the loved ones they have lost that were not even thinking about. Next time take a thought as to what your reporting on a who it affects. Positively or negatively, and how it reflects on our home, America.

Poor Delivery
Natalie is the worst journalist I have ever heard in my 54 years of listening to radio and podcast. Her energy is so poor no matter what aisle you sit on her energy immediately brings you down. I have been democrat and I have been republican and listening to her makes me never want to listen to another podcast. I used to love the daily my colleagues love the daily but now we are switching to other podcast because she is so terrible and so decisive. She always puts a negative tone on anything to do with the Republican Party and is never equal in her reporting. It is very evident her biases and that is very unfortunate as a reporter that is given such a platform as the daily.

Last episode about Iran
Regarding latest episode about new supreme leader of Iran, Farnaz Fasihi is connected to Islamic regime and promotes their ideas. She says majority of people of Iran are disappointed to see hitting Khamenei brought up another supreme leader and make them unhappy about US and Israel. Totally wrong! People are insisting on regime change and don’t care who is supreme leader anymore. Farnaz Fasihi been misleading with her disinformation for a long time.

Very biased. Would not recommend
Very pro-US intervention, lots of Zionist propaganda since Trump was elected. Wouldn’t recommend. Go support independent journalists reporting the news without biases.

Biased reporting
Very disappointing Zionist reporting. Cherry picked details and no context provided. Do better, NYT!

My Daily Habit
"The Daily" has quickly become an essential part of my day. Their stories are consistently relevant and engaging, covering a wide variety of newsworthy topics with impressive depth. What I love most is that even when I see a subject and think I won't be interested, I find myself listening with full attention. The reporting is excellent and I often find myself thinking about the podcast long after the episode ends. I now listen every single day!

A Necessary, Enjoyable (Yes!) Way to Start My Day!
Thank you directly to Tracy Mumford, and all the producers and editors who make The Headlines a staple of my day. In all the chaos and tough news recently, Tracy in particular keeps it light and informative in a way that few others do. Love the Friday news quiz, and the light stories mixed in to what we also need to know. Keep it up!

Not a neutral podcast.
The host is very clearly biased against Trump. He doesn’t even try to hide it. Unprofessional for a NYT reporter. Please report on both sides.

The daily biased echo chamber
This episode on the first 10 days of war in Iran is incredibly irresponsible reporting and bordering on straight up lies Just one example.. you say that the Iranian people haven’t risen yet even though there’s calls by trump to rise. This is completely false- he told them to stay home until the strikes are over. You’re telling lies and your echo chamber nods their head … gross and irresponsible

Sponsored by Petroleum??
First ad of the podcast is a general oil industry “build more pipelines” ad? That oil ad reads like satire, but it seems that every dystopian idea is a reality now. At least it’s a clear statement & not buried in the reporting of a story as news. Does explain the acrobatics used to get around reporting news that reveals linkages between illegal war acts and financial gains for the govt officials heavily invested in oil. Now I wonder if the discussion of ICE like it’s a legitimate federal program with “extensive programs” — and not a human trafficking org that functions fully outside of legal oversight — comes from a reliance on monetary support too. How guided is the NYT by our rising oligarchic institutions?

Mixed bag
I have very personally complicated feelings about the Times. On the one hand I ardently support the right to a free press and believe some of the reporting they’ve done is unquestionably essential. On the other, as a long time Daily listener, it is impossible to ignore the very clear editorial bias towards Neoliberalism. This bias is most apparent in terms of non-US news stories, and the Times’ incredibly inappropriate bias towards Israel. I would also say that younger reporters are more likely to introduce personal viewpoints, across the spectrum. On a format level I also agree that the style of repeating exactly what the guest has said as a summary point is incredibly annoying. While US news is written at a 5th grade reading level, you have to know people seeking out this podcast probably don’t fit that description. Stop dumbing down your reporting and fight against anti-intellectualism

The Stenographers of Tyranny
I thought the NYT learned its lesson by regurgitating the Bush 2 admin’s Iraq war propaganda, but now it’s doing it for the Trump 2 admin and Israel’s Iran war propaganda. Disappointing.

BRING GILBERT CRUZ BACK FOR SUNDAY SPECIALS
Gilbert Cruz and his Gilbies need to come back on Sundays. It’s light, it’s fun, and we need something to look forward to. It’s an echo of the Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me radio from the 90s and we need more of it. I would become a regular listener to this podcast and possibly a subscriber if you brought BRING GILBERT BACK.

Almost perfect
Love this podcast as it provides a more in-depth and somewhat neutral take on US politics and culture. But 2 tings should be corrected to get to 5 stars: 1) Interviewers should stop saying hmmmm. Annoying as hell. 2) Interviewers should stop repeating the points made by interviewees. Annoying and suggests that the audience is stupid or slow.

Did Israel push US into war
What a ridiculous narrative ! You don’t consider any of the other existing geopolitical issues that would have pushed the US to make its own decision that war with the Iran was necessary. Ie Russia /ukriane, China/ energy etc.

Interview style
3/5/26 excellent content. Thank you! I have noticed that interviewers use the same annoying responses by saying" got it" or a long "hmmmm" ,etc. it is annoyingly noticeable and not a good "hear" for these quite intelligent interviewers. Just FYI- said with love!! I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR PROBING EXPOSING CONTENT......,
