Great daily update! Morning show before Meidas🤙

Greg Sargent leads a great interview. Although neither speaker noted that the president causes harm when he loses something, and he lost the Supreme Court ruling about his tariffs immediately before starting an illegal war against Iran, the complete lack of planning for the war, just like the complete lack of planning for the destruction of the (East Wing of the) White House, suggests that this new illegal action was him acting out against a perceived enemy.

So annoying

TDB is short intense and immediate. Every podcast brings something important to the forefront, goes deep and makes me think, or go follow up with an author or expert. I look forward to it every day.

This interview with David Karpf is excellent. Hope to hear more from him on your show. His analysis of how to communicate in today’s media environment is very insightful. Thanks, Greg, for bringing him in.

I appreciate Greg’s efforts and (low-affect!) passion, but, generally, among both hosts and guests — not enough information and substance and too much whining and rehashing (of news we already know, if you’re moderately informed). I understand the challenge of a daily podcast. Still, if I just wanted to have someone rile me up, I’d use social media (which I do not).

I look forward to this podcast every morning! Thank you for keeping us informed and up-to-date! The biggest thank you is for keeping it real and honest and not pulling any punches with the reality of what's going on.

You played the clip, but I haven’t heard anyone express concern over DT’s fascist thinking as if the/his enemy from within should wear uniforms. What’s next? armbands, tattoos of serial numbers for his perceived enemies?

Greg does a good job diving into top stories. He’s not pulling punches on the reality to save feelings. He gets good guests too.

Seems like Greg and the guests he has on are some of the only actual journalists left in this country. No “both sides” bull detected: simply calling out the fully fascist Republican Party and what the Democratic Party is and isn’t doing to stop them.

Today’s interview with Asawin Suebsaeng made my day. He ended by saying next time “maybe I won’t be so angry”. Don’t you dare Asawin. Your tone and comments hit JUST the right pitch. This f#*+king moron president needs to be accurately described and thank you for doing it.

Dear Greg, I like your podcast but for the love of God, Please stop addressing your male guests with “man.” As in, “Hey, man, thanks for coming on,” etc. It’s so very annoying and juvenile. It’s as though your male guests’ opinions are more worthy of approbation than those of your female guests. You don’t address your female guests in such a chummy, “hey bro” way. Not that you should! Thank you.

This is the best political podcast. I listen every day.

This is quite the twist on the facts. I prefer to see and hear things in FULL, and for myself for just this reason!

Greg Sargent is great. I read him in the WA Post and was so happy to find this podcast.

I am so sick and tired of clicking on an “article” to “read” and then finding out it’s only a link to an audio recording. Please identify “articles” as audio, so we don’t waste our time. Some of us actually know how to read and prefer it to the pablum being spooned into the ears of illiterate simpletons.

I recently found you podcast and I’m thrilled. Keep telling the truth and I will spread the word.

I look forward to this show every weekday. Greg Sargent gets such interesting guests and has the most interesting conversations about the current problems we face. He asks really good questions and guides the conversation with great skill. And the brevity is appreciated - he gets right to the point, no b.s. Thank you Greg!

Greg Sargent is an excellent host. He’s knowledgeable and he asks question that are relevant and sincere. This definitely is my favorite podcast on the DSR network, and it is one of my favorites of all the political podcasts.

It’s amazing to have a succinct and daily hit of information every day. I don’t know how Greg Sargent does it but it’s always smart, always insightful, always independent.

Greg Sargent is my favorite interviewer of his well-chosen guests. I love his directness, honest assertions, and respect for the audience. Thank you for the format that really dives into each episode.

It’s time to put aside all the hate, anger and craziness on both sides. We need to come together as a country of 2 parties. Put aside our differences and meet each other half way and concentrate on how we are all the same!

Thank you for your weekday blasts of hope, not wishful thinking. If there is a corner of these dark times of MAGA threats where we can see a way out, then Glenn Sargent is sure to spot it and bring it to us weekday mornings.

I have a son who hasn’t spoken to me in forever. I never talk about politics to him because it is useless to do so. Ever since Trump has been running, the last 4 or 5 years, he hasn’t gone out of his way to contact me. When we do speak, at the end of our conversation, he starts screaming about Trump and about how wrong I am. It is sad the media has promoted Trump brainwashing our families! Sarah

I miss reading Greg’s column but love listening to the new podcast. His perspective is under-represented in the media. He’s still honing his on-air interviewing, but Terri Gross wasn’t polished year 1 either. lol

you need new music—too harsh and grating.

You’re a supposed “progressive” outlet. Carville thinks women shouldn’t be too mouthy and that old white men are the groups you need to worry about most. He blames all the Democratic failures on the “woke left”, but fails to see his own complicity in the erosion of support from working class. NAFTA, siding with corporations and so on. But like most old white men, they can’t be wrong.

Really enjoyed this informative breakdown on the voting trends in the battleground states. Would love to see you invite Ed Luce and Mike Madrid on to discuss Mr Luce’s article in the Financial Times on 8/18 regarding the Hispanic vote in Pennsylvania. I live in MD and had no idea that the city of Reading, PA is now 70% Hispanic. Seems like a huge voting bloc available with correct messaging.

Love the podcast every day but the 2 August episode was especially good. Really loved your so-called “deviation” into Stuart’s early motivations, which was fascinating and enlightening.

I was disappointed in the negativity about VP Harris in today’s show with Elaina Plott Calabro. Greg’s multiple uses of the phrase “She’s not . . . “ rather than phrasing his concerns in a positive way just gives fuel to Republicans. The bulk of the interview was on what the VP can’t do and the President’s lack of care in mentoring her. Yes, the reporter traveled with the VP, but she assumes she knows everything about the VP and how the country views her. Wrong!! I hope you have a guest who can counter all this negativity, or you will just be giving the Republican’s more for their campaign. I can see headlines now from them, “Harris’s Biographer Showcases VP’s Inadequacies.” Do better, Greg!

This is a set of reliably unenlightening rants in which Sargent lays out a long-winded question that frames his argument on an issue then asks his guest, essentially, “Don’t you agree?” Guaranteed to be a waste of time.

Greg T. Sargent blocked me on Twitter for replying to his retweet of another political commentator with a mention of Joe Biden’s involvement in the genocide of Palestinians. How can he have any credibility as a political commentator if his go-to move is to block dissent? (And my comment was not a criticism of him, his show, or the person he retweeted. I simply brought up Biden’s Israel policy under a tweet about his fitness for reelection.) No one should take Sargent seriously as a journalist or as a person open to exploring a range of viewpoints.

Paul Krugman and Greg Sargent are absolutely clueless on how to talk to or about people who are suffering prolonged unemployment.

This Podcast is a treasure, and it’s often the first thing I listen to weekday mornings. Highly recommended!

The Daily Blast brings an insightful discussion to important issues. The discussion with Senator Whitehouse about lack of accountability for the Supreme Court was depressing. But it plainly showed the ongoing obstruction by Republicans to any transparency regarding the corruption of the right wing Supreme Court.

Love the content though.

Great show for daily listening! Good topics and guests, and Greg is a good interviewer. I do have to skip over the opening music because it’s just so harsh on the ears in the morning.

I tried to listen to some recent episodes but the production quality is so poor that it’s an unpleasant experience regardless of how interesting the content is. The audio is low quality, the volume of the speakers is all at different volumes, and the ads are startlingly loud and randomly cut into the podcast. Wish it wasn’t so but it’s unlistenable.
