Broadcaster Andrew Cotter and fan favourite Tour player Eddie Pepperell are joined by Iain Carter, to bring you meandering conversation about the world of golf and the world in general. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Pain is so close to Pleasure
In an endearingly self-deprecating description of this episode we would say that it's about twenty minutes longer than it needs to be. But there really is a lot to talk about with Eddie entertaining us all at Trump International and finding a top-10 finish on the main tour again. Yet even in finding form he still flirts with the darkness and is starting to cause some concern to Andrew, Iain and his many TCF followers / stalkers. There is also plenty of discussion of Tommy Fleetwood once again coming up short in Memphis and what he can change to get over the line. And there is no end of admiration for Justin Rose and his play-off win, with Iain suggesting there really is little that Rose can't do. Punched by Anthony Joshua
Well, not really, it just felt like it to Eddie as he continued to beat himself up on the golf course despite a decent showing on the HotelPlanner Tour. The trio talk about his behaviour and form as well as the success of the AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl where Japan took another women's major - this time through Miyu Yamashita - and Charley Hull provided most of the entertainment as well as a blunt assessment of a Welsh culinary delicacy.Check out the Icons range at: www.petermillar.co.ukPing i240 irons and much more at: www.ping.comemail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInsta: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. Lottie Woad and Ibiza
This week we celebrate the arrival of a new star in golf in Lottie Woad after her oh-so-impressive victory on her professional debut at the Women's Scottish Open. The trio also celebrate Eddie's safe return from Ibiza where TCF's touring pro survived backflips and a moderately fast boating expedition under the watchful eye of safety officer Laurie Canter. The trio look ahead to the AIG Women's Open at Porthcawl as well as Eddie's return to competition and question whether Andrew really does have a putting handicap of +5.1 or whether he just has aides knocking the ball into the hole for him. Allegedly.Supported by our friends at: www.petermillar.co.ukAnd also: www.ping.comFor Laurie's outfit, visit: @chippingforecast on Instagram.Email: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast. Portrush and Philosophy
Eddie returns to the pod with a report on his recent tournament in Germany, his general health and his plans for the weeks ahead. He also brings his particular brand of thinking to an analysis of Scottie Scheffler's triumph at Portrush as well as the personality and motivation of the world number one with iain and Andrew wondering if he is actually good for the game. Scheffler, that is, not Eddie. We know he's good for it.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukwww.ping.comEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.ukInstagram:@chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. OPEN - CLOSED
An immediate, Sunday evening review of an Open Championship where Scottie Scheffler dominated, adding the Claret Jug to his collection and possibly enjoying it for a few minutes before moving on to other things. Andrew and Iain meet for the last time in the noisy media centre to discuss things and hear the thoughts of both Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. There is only minimal discussion of Eddie's 8th-place finish in Germany, but that - and so much more - will come in our weekly pod. "TCF...TCF...TCF..". Hosted on Acast. Saturday at The Open
Saturday night at The Open Championship: Andrew and Iain once again convene in the media centre to discuss the third round, wondering if anybody can stop Scottie Scheffler from winning his first Claret Jug and his fourth major, but more than that, they discuss whether he is actually exciting to watch or if his mastery of the game is actually quite dull. They ponder both that and the hero worship for Rory McIlroy while also hearing from Eddie out in Germany again, who managed to salvage his third round at the Hotel Planner Tour event with a storming finish before enjoying another large steak. Probably. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Halfway at The Open
Friday night at The Open Championship and is this the time for Scottie Scheffler to claim the Claret Jug and his fourth major? Or can Matt Fitzpatrick add the Open to his US Open triumph? Or perhaps Brian Harman will do it again? And will Eddie notch up another top-10 in Germany in his comeback from injury? These and so many other questions are not really answered here as Andrew, Iain and - in some small way - Eddie combine to chat at the halfway stage of The Open Championship. Hosted on Acast. Wednesday at Portrush
Our first min-pod of Open Championship week which turns out to not be quite so mini. Andrew and Iain meet up on the first tee to have a chat and watch various golfers tee off in their final practice rounds before it all gets underway on Thursday. In the process of which they fail to identify Cameron Adam - Royal Burgess member, former Scottish Amateur champion and St Andrews Links winner. Feeling so ashamed they have decided to dedicate this pod to him. Iain also chats to US Open champion JJ Spaun and Bob McIntyre, who was of course runner-up to Spaun at Oakmont, but is perhaps better known as something of a mentor to Cameron Adam. Go well Cammy. OPEN ALL HOURS
Here we are then - Monday of Open Championship and Iain and Andrew are together (two desks apart) in the media centre at Portrush, while Eddie joins from the highest point of his house to look ahead to the greatest golf tournament of them all. First, though, there are reflections on a wondrous finish to the Evian Championship and another stellar performance from Lottie Woad, which is likely to be her last as an amateur. We round up the Scottish Open and consider the form shown by various leading lights and we hear from Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry ahead of the big show.Visit: www.petermillar.co.uk Crown Crafted collectionFrom PING, check out the iDi driving iron and i240 irons, launching this week. And have a look at @chippingforecast on Instagram to decided which of Iain or Andrew really has the more slender wrists. The Metronome and The Badger
Once more it's a Wimbledon / golf episode with assorted diversions thrown in as the trio try to fit in a golf podcast around their various diary challenges. Iain is heading off to Edinburgh for the Scottish Open, Andrew is still at Wimbledon and Eddie is embarking on a new career as a yoga instructor. There's an update on his back issues, a look back at some of the stories from Open final qualifying and more than a word or two of praise for Lottie Woad after her dominant victory in Ireland.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: tcf@thechippingforecast.co.uk Hosted on Acast.
