The interview with Jason C is still needling me. To describe the government’s actions as abhorrent and in the next breath call it just performative is the reason why I would never trust his opinion on politics. Tim, I think a point a lot of people fail to realize or stress with these masked ICE fascists who have no badge # or other ID markers on their gear is that they can kill/beat/ kidnap someone, even under street camera surveillance, hop back into their unmarked car and there will be no/few ways to identify and/or indict them much less convict them.

I am not a fan of Chuck Todd and definitely did an eye roll when I saw he was the guest. That said, it was a terrific episode and I learned a lot. I have a new respect for Chuck Todd. I like to challenge myself and my preconceived notions and this confirmed the importance of this practice. I always enjoy Tim’s interview style and sassy humor.

Point about the stock market being a representation of the economy….It isn’t, that’s a known saying on Wall Street for decades that “The stock market is not the economy”. The stock market is mostly a representation of a few stocks connected to AI. There has been a ton of $$ going into AI, which won’t last for ever and doesn’t help the rest. Also, the stock market is a representation of how rich the top 10% are getting and has zero to do with the rest of us. If you care to see a decent representation, look at the performance of the U.S. Dollar and the 10 year treasury market YTD. Thanks, love the pod, just don’t appreciate misinformation spewed by people who think they know everything.

Love this network, all the shows, all the personalities on it, etc...but Tim, please...Beto is such a DORK and is not the guy to look to right now for the future of the party on any level whatsoever. I agree we need authentic voices, but he's always read as a poser to me. His band sucked, he said he could skateboard but also sucked at that...and I don't think anyone that can't even beat Ted Cruz in a popularity contest is worth listening to. (Unlike all of the bulwark programs, which are very much worth listening to!) Keep up the important work and finding new voices to highlight, leave the bygones behind.

I enjoy the deeper, conversational format, as I became aware of Tim via Nicole Wallace’s Deadline & have seen him in shorter segments for years. Newish listener of this pod. I recommend Tim fans catch the Tim episode of Nicole’s “Best People” pod (Aug 2025) for more about how Tim has evolved along with the Republican Party to be a messenger for reasoned, fact-based realty. He makes me crave pinto beans & inspired me to dust off my grandmother’s pearls. I don’t listen to most former Republicans, because many are still just performing to get a cushy media paycheck from MSNBC until the conservative pendulum swings less crazy-cruel-authoritarian-pedo & they can go back to being their true misogynist, racist, anti-LGBTQIA+ selves (e.g. Michael Steele, Brendan Buck, Joe Walsh, John Kasich). I believe Tim’s words & opinions are not merely performative. I believe Tim wants the US to be a safe place for his daughter (speaking of she, please consider moving to a blue state & city because she’ll soon be of the age to need a qualified gynecologist, which are more rare in red states & please avoid any healthcare facility for her that has any religious affiliation, even in the bluest city, because they are reducing access to reproductive care - the Churches that run hospitals in all 50 states are making it hard to get care & the best ob/gyns won’t work for them).

One thing, and I feel mean saying this, but while I think Neera Tanden is a very sharp guest, I don’t understand how she has an accent that says “know” and other “o” words in a weird way I’ve never heard in my life and that sounds like an affectation. After a while I could not listen to her anymore. Her nasally tone is rough after a while too. Sorry Neera.

I listen to Tim Miller religiously. I also listen to many other podcasts like Impolitic with John Heileman and Pod save the world. Tom Nichols has been making the rounds. He doesn’t know how to use his microphone. Is he moving around the room or tapping his mike? So much noise that he detracts from his message.
