The Big Boo Cast is my favorite podcast! Melanie and Sophie keep me laughing every Thursday morning!

The only podcast I NEVER MISS!
I’ve been listening to this podcast since I was introduced to Sophie and Melanie’s books about 10 years ago.
I pre-order every book they write, fly to their live shows when I’m not traveling for work, and am a Patreon subscriber. They are the best treat I give myself through the laughter and product suggestions they give each week. I absolutely love it- thanks y’all!

Always listen each week!!
I LOVE this podcast and have tried repeatedly to get tickets to the live shows. 😩 I’ll keep trying- but I never miss an episode and love hearing all the stories and advice. Their books are wonderful and I just truly enjoy this each week! 5 favorites is something I truly look forward to seeing what they’re into! Love y’all!

Never miss an episode
I’ve listened to this podcast for years and I never miss an episode. I’m not an Aggie fan even though I’m from Texas (nor am I a longhorn), but I do enjoy the college football banter. It gives me discussion points to talk about with my teenager. And then all the other stuff is just fun. Someone said they are “wealthy white women” and I find that laughable. Yes, Melanie probably leans more conservative and Sophie more moderate, but this rarely, if ever, is conveyed on their podcast.

Privilege, MAGA, Friendship
The two women share a robust friendship. They delight in one another. Be aware-These are wealthy, white, Christian women-content is a lot of “stuff” they buy and reflections on possessions. Melanie is a MAGA, Trump supporter and her comments and her social media posts reflects that.

Please keep to non-political commentary
I have listened to this podcast for the levity of the conversations. I have read and enjoyed books by both authors.
I appreciate that this podcast had provided a break from politically charged commentary. Today’s episode changed that opinion for me. The discussion about the outspoken opposition to the change in Cracker Barrel was, in my opinion, a conversation better suited to a personal conversation between friends. I have never been to a CB so it isn’t my battle. Have you considered that the patrons who made that business what it is don’t want to be forced to accept someone else’s opinion that is not their own?
Also, the side comment in response to the lady in Huntsville referring to Karoline Leavitt…
I know listening or not is m option. I’ll continue to listen and will make a choice if i feel like I’m listening to more political opinions.

Long time favorite!
This is my very favorite podcast! I have been listening for almost 10 years now. Sophie and Melanie bring joy to my life every week. I love their humor and candor. I’m a parent of young kids and I really enjoy and appreciate their perspective. I love the fashion and beauty recommendations too. I also subscribe to Patreon and look forward to it always. I just love them both so much and they feel like dear friends!!

I’d Love Big Boo Even More If…
I have listened from the beginning and really look forward to Thursday releases. Love the sports talk, following along on the child-rearing journeys, your books, guests, 5 Favorites… love it all! Such creative, funny, relatable, dear women with heart! I confess that I occasionally take a break from listening when I find that I am no longer paying attention to the content because I’m so distracted by how frequently and unnecessarily Melanie says “like” and “um.” I love the podcast and would love it even more if this were to be addressed. Thank you very much for all you do.

Feeling Meh 🫤 But Hopeful
I have loved this podcast and listened every week for years. Just as any show with a long run time, this one has jumped the shark for me. I’m all for monetizing what’s available to you, but so many advertisers and the EXPENSIVE five favorite lists have taken the ladies into the shallow end of inspiring and encouraging us.
I realize the life of an empty nester is different in every way but as someone who comes to be enriched by the knowledge and life experiences of mature women this now seems like another pretentious, vain and veiled version of internet influencers. Still gonna listen in hopes that genuine, not afraid to share without making money “friends” reappear. I miss what got us here 😞

Always Funny!
I love listening to this on Fridays to finish out my week! Always making me laugh and start my weekend on a good note.

Mixed feelings
I have listened to this show a long time, and I really do enjoy the ladies and their banter. However it increasingly feels like they are a bit shallow, vain, and materialistic. They have only the regular perspective of most upper middle class women, but it’s hard to listen to them recommend $150 facial serums and so many expensive items. They spend a lot of time and money on themselves, eating a fancy restaurants, buying clothes and things for their kids, going to Pilates or workout classes. I totally respect a podcast which handles the light side of life, and maybe it’s just not the right show for me, but I wish they talked a bit more about cheaper solutions or how they are serving in theory communities, etc.

You guys are great and delightfully funny!
I have listened for years and enjoy the podcast! Congratulations to Melanie!! I also enjoy “All Creatures Great and Small”, but I think you may have been referring to Tricki Woo in the 3-6-25 episode, and stated he was a Lhasa Apso, he is a Pekingese. He is very spoiled and may have taken offense. (But, honestly Lhasa Apso’s are by far cuter, I had one for just under 14 years.) Dig you both, keep making us laugh through all life throws our way!

Too many ads and unfortunate recs
This has become a 45-50 minute podcast with at least 10 of that being ads. It’s basically one big ad with a little pod thrown in, and ever-shrinking.
Also, nothing says “I’m a Christian and a Christian writer” like “this show I like has horrible language but that doesn’t really bother me.” (Actual quote from Sophie.)
When the ladies are at their best, this is a great show. But I just wish they were presenting their best most of the time instead of hardly ever anymore.
Finally, can someone please tell Sophie that the word “and” only has one syllable???? This drives me absolutely batty - and I am a southerner! Ayyyy-und is not a word.

Episode 430
I was excited to find the podcast after hearing about Melanie’s new book when she was a guest on a podcast that I regularly listen to. I was under the impression that both of these ladies were followers of Jesus until I saw their television show recommendations, completely not glorifying to Christ. Disappointed.

My favorite podcast!
I look forward every week to Sophie and Melanie’s breakdown of sports, life, family, faith and fashion! It’s the best.

We are not all A&M fans…or even SEC fans
I’ve been a listener for years, patreon member, listen every week. I love sports conversations-it’s always changing and full of stories and “drama”. This football season has pushed me over the edge. Constant negativity this season-not just about someone’s personal team, but about football in general - it has ceased to be fun conversation to listen to. Sophie seems to work very hard at balancing the negativity - her quick wit and positivity is a blessing. But I can’t hang in there anymore. The most recent episode including comments about “two cotton candy” teams and “the ACC has no business here”… good grief. You would be wise to at least acknowledge that your listeners span a wider audience than the SEC - the world is bigger than Texas…

Y’all…sports/makeup/skincare/clothes/fun stuff. NORMAL! Will make you laugh out loud…these 2 women are the BFF’s I have longed for since 2017…so grateful and so thankful that I found them…once you listen…you will understand! Just do it!

My podcast friends
I look forward to y’all’s podcast every week. Thank goodness I became a follower right as y’all started becoming consistent! lol I’ve gone to several in person events and refer to y’all in conversations as my podcast friends. I appreciate the wisdom of being a few years ahead of me in parenting and marriage and always on the lookout for new fashion and products.

Too much college sports talk
This was a podcast that I used to really enjoy. I will sometimes listen to older episodes and they are delightful! Things started to change once the hosts started to focus on collage sports, particularly Texas A & M. What people wore to the game - great! People that attended the game - fun! What people ate/drank at the game - I’m all for it! I have no interest in individual plays, stats, or coaching decisions. Often more than half of the episodes will be taken over by these topics. I still check in most weeks to see if they are talking about other things but most weeks I am disappointed and skip to the end. I have also cancelled my Patreon subscription for the same reason.

Almost great
I have been listening for years and I love their sense of humor and five favorites. But I know nothing about or care to learns about football or really sports. What would be awesome is a time stamp to say they have moved on to what I consider more fun stuff.

Incredible
I just love to listen to you two. It’s like being with very best friends. I’m older than either of you (could be your mother) but I enjoy your show and all the things you recommend. Keep up the good work and Gig ‘Em, Aggies.
Wish people could talk without using the word “like” so much. My grandkids do it and people in TV do it, but it drives me bananas.

400 is a gem!
I started listening to this podcast in 2017 when a friend recommended it to me because my daughter was a freshman at Mississippi State. I have enjoyed it so much!!!! I started back at episode 1 and have listened to each episode driving back and forth from south GA to Starkville, MS. You girls are the best!!!! Thank you for years of wonderful entertainment!!!! I look forward to many more episodes and books!!!

Too sports centric
Love these two podcasters a lot, but feel like the show has become too sports-oriented. I know they are beloved fans, which I do appreciate, but it wasn’t what originally drew me to the show. I’m missing the original premise of the podcast.

Thank you
…for helping me buy things I didn’t know I need; for helping me find books, movies, and tv shows I needed to try; sharing the beauty of Texas and Alabama, for laughter, and for making me feel like I have two new friends.

This is our 50’s
I may not be a sports fan or glamor chick who is in to fashion or make-up, but I can relate to these women about real life. Sophie and Melanie’s weekly conversations and banter draw this midwesterner in for laughs and light heartedness as they discuss anything and everything. It’s like the days when homes were connected via partylines before personal phone lines were available. I look forward to hearing about their weekly thoughts and experiences, and laughing along with them.

Ending my suffering
If you enjoy listening to a middle age woman say ‘like’ three times every sentence, this is the podcast for you! I’ll miss you, Sophie. But I can’t with your co-host ever again.

lol
I love this podcast so much! it’s a great boost to my day, and makes me laugh, feel encouraged and it’s just clean, fun humor! And by the way, I am also going through Streams in the Desert, and it is one of my favorite devotionals! Someone gifted it to us when my mother-in-law was killed in a tragic car accident. I bought several more copies to give to others. It’s the best gift to someone who has a loss or tough time. 🩷

A light listen
I really enjoy listening, especially to the fun takes on college football and sports in general. This podcast makes me laugh and is a nice diversion. But I have a very difficult time relating to a lifestyle which is so invested with attention and money in nails, skins, fashion, massages, etc.

The best one-sided friendship I’ve ever had.
I’ve never before so loved people I haven’t met, but I feel like we are lifelong friends. Sophie and Melanie crack me up like nobody else! A few times every episode I take screenshots of the timestamps so I can go back and share blips with my friends. Y’all are a treasure! Since knowing you, I have a renewed love of Aggie football and a newfound respect for proactive skincare regimens. If that’s not a wise investment of listening time, I don’t know what is.

Love these two but holy ads
I have loved this podcast for years but all the ads are starting to make me feel the same way I do when I’m trying to have a conversation with another adult and my toddler keeps interrupting to tell me random things. Really takes away from the natural flow of conversation that first drew me to the podcast in the first place and I have found myself putting off listening to episodes because of it. Today I was crazy enough to count and there have already been 5 ad breaks in 34 minutes 🫠😳 Also the episodes have gotten a lot shorter and seem to follow a quick script (what Sophie did this weekend, what Melanie did this weekend, one random topic, are we ready to do 5 favorites?)….I know y'all have to make money and aren’t big on listening to other podcasts but many of them are a lot longer and only have a couple of ad breaks. Maybe you could group them together at the beginning and end or something? I hope the feedback isn’t too much for you nines 😂 but I want the all the best things for y’all and can’t be the only listener noticing this!

I clean my house each week while listening to Sophie and Melanie….and it has made the job so much more fun! This is a FANTASTIC podcast and I love Patreon episodes as well. I taught the women who recommended this show to me how to seduce men with “football talk.” We all were, and still are LSU fans, but I was teaching Texans about real football and DMB and SEC rivalries years ago. Then my same Texas friends suggested this show to me, 20 years later, proving that the women who know you in college, they know you. Thanks for being role models for sports-obsessed women.
