Anthropic is right
Scott Besson and Peter Thiel appeared to misunderstand how safety engineering works in complex technology systems. Anthropic is not dictating the terms of US national security. Anthropic is a vendor that produces a potentially hazardous technology.
The company conducts safety analysis to identify hazardous scenarios and implement safety controls.
Their safety analysis has identified several well-known risks associated with AI including: lethal autonomous weapons without human supervision, control, or override; and large-scale government surveillance of its own citizens.
Anthropic has implemented safety controls to preclude these hazardous scenarios. The company also precludes assistance related to bioterrorism.
None of this dictates national security policy.
Vendors impose safety constraints on their products. It is standard safety practice and responsible design.
If the US government prefers a system with fewer safeguards, it is free to choose a different vendor.
The argument that AI systems must support “all lawful uses” misunderstands the role of safety controls. Safety controls restrict dangerous actions even when those actions are not illegal.
For example, there is no law requiring that a “deadman switch” be included in a human centrifuge for G-force training. Yet, this control is essential to prevent fatalities.
Safety controls arise from hazard analysis, not from legal mandates.
Finally, in the absence of mature AI standards, responsible vendors are implementing internal safety programs that are consistent with standard engineering practices.
They make no attempt to dictate national policy.

Borders on AI slop
It’s pretty clear that this podcast is read by an AI voice and lots of the episodes are just an aggregation of various Twitter posts about an AI news topic. . Hearing what 20 different people post on Twitter about a new development in AI is not a useful podcast. Gives a very strong impression that the script is generated by AI and it ends up being very mixed in quality. Probably a good business to run a podcast like this, but not really enjoying it as a listener.

Great podcast
Love this podcast. I’m not a tech person by any stretch but I do try to keep up. The daily brief keeps me up to speed on all the important fast-moving AI developments. Hold on to your butts, people.

Wake up to job erosion reality
There is a dearth of new jobs for white collar workers displaced by AI investment. Companies have been diverting budgets to tech, not human capital. Employers are not incentivized for reskilling or hiring dispaced workers. Until the American political elite addresses structural asymmetries in the employment system and its unbuffered impacts on workers, you will see all manner of (rational) AI resistance.

Content Amazing, Cadence Needs Work
I love the content on this podcast, but I wish it was not quite like drinking from a fire hose. Nathaniel reads it with inflection, and I know I can slow it down, but it’s sometimes for me hard to absorb it. Doing a solo pod is so hard. I think if he would introduce more pauses so that we could think a bit, this would be great. Listen to a Jim Rome or a Mike Francesca podcast. They aren’t reading, so I guess it’s more natural to have pauses when you’re talking live without a script. Another from the sports world who does a fire house podcast is JJ Zachariason’s Late Round Podcast. JJ is fast, but I can absorbs it easier. For the first few mins of the first podcast I listened to, I initially wondered if Nathaniel was an AI. He isn’t. He brings great info every session, and I love listening.

Helpful and to the point.
One of my favorite podcasts. Concise, to the point and informative on the range of issues involving AI. Covers the latest news, market developments and model iterations.

Best AI podcast 2026
This is the most relevant, concise, consistent AI news podcast I’ve found. Very helpful.

AI is Entertaining Too!
Please keep those bonus builder episodes coming. I believe it is the only AI daily brief I’ve listened to now three times all the way through. It is so chalk full of valuable insights. Yours is easily the most valuable and fun AI podcast. Your enthusiasm comes through and is infectious. Thank you.

Good show but still get ads in the subscriber version
This review is not about the content, but rather the fact that ads still appear in the subscriber version of the show. Recently, there have been several days where the subscriber version had ads just like the non-subscriber version. So, I’m not really sure what the point of the subscription is. I have tried submitting this as an issue to Apple, but that doesn’t appear to have helped.

Comprehensive yet concise
Terrific AI podcast of marketplace news. As a CIO, I want to be informed of trends and products of the AI industry. This podcast is the best I’ve found. It has a practical, business-centric tone to it that resonates with me. I appreciate that he summarizes articles and reactions from those in the industry. Well researched and great product.

Audio quality could improve
I’ve been tuning into AI Daily Brief for almost six months, and I truly appreciate all the insights Nathaniel shares in these podcasts. I eagerly anticipate each episode, finding it a fantastic resource for staying informed about AI and the rapid evolution of the field. Nathaniel’s educational approach is excellent. However, I’ve noticed that the audio quality could be enhanced. I listen to the podcast both in my car and at home, and the volume seems to be a bit lower compared to other high-quality podcasts like Apple News Today and Mac Geek Gab. If Nathaniel is open to it, improving the audio quality would be a great step forward. I hope you’ll consider this feedback, and I’m confident it will benefit your listeners. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Keep up the fantastic work!

Solid show 🤖
Interesting daily listen (read by human). Honestly impressed with “MISSION BRIEFINGS - Program Timeline” week by week on aidbnewyear btw!

All the AI news fit to cast!
When I first started getting into AI I tried a lot of podcasts on the subject. Then I found AI Daily Brief and my immediate reaction was “wait, he puts this out everyday? And it’s free?!” Enough said, immediate subscribe.

I try, every episode
I keep this on my list, and I honestly try listening, but give up. It just seems like each episode is just a tortured stream of repetition. Rarely do they go in deep in something.

Love my daily brief!
This show is my absolute favorite to nerd out to. It’s quick, keeps my attention, and gives me the perfect amount of information about AI news and how to better leverage it in my professional and personal life. Thanks for my daily brief!

Exceptional Value, Zero Fluff
AI Daily Brief is hands-down the best-in-class podcast for staying current on AI in a way that actually respects your time. Each episode is clear, concise, and directly to the point—no hype, no filler, just the facts.
What really sets this podcast apart is how the news is delivered: factual, well-curated, and framed with just enough context to understand why it matters, especially for corporate leaders, technologists, and entrepreneurs. It’s exactly how I wish all news worked—signal over noise.
If you’re looking for maximum insight per minute and actionable awareness without the distraction of speculation or fluff, AI Daily Brief is essential listening.

Fantastic, but…
Fantastic podcast. It’s the best in the AI industry. But I paid for a subscription to remove ads and it doesn’t work most of the time.

Very sycophantic
It does what it says on the tin, give you updates about AI. But Jesus, the amount of this podcast that is just reading tweets verbatim makes me realize maybe we don’t need daily updates. He does try to present both sides, but is obviously extremely biased towards any anti AI news being bad.
For example, he will read in full the summary of a study that finds harms in AI. He will then spend as much time reading tweets from random guys on twitter pushing back on that study. It has the appearance of both sides getting their due, but it’s a well researched study versus like… some dudes.

Easily the best AI podcast for me
This is a fantastic podcast. It’s always to the point, well researched, and concise. It’s not full of rhetoric. It informs me around categories I do know while regularly pushing my limits and challenging me to learn more. It’s not so deep and technical that I get lost but neither is it so high level that there’s no meat. Well done!
I recommend it to everyone.

Love the show, hate the ads
I love this show and listen to it every day. So much so that I decided to subscribe to the premier version with the hope that it would get rid of ads. However, this did not happen. I paid for the full year but I still get the same ads I got before. Hope this gets addressed asap.

Feels Like An Ad with Too Many Ads
Trying to get more information on GPT-5 and listened to his most recent episodes and I can’t help but to just notice how he just parrots all the marketing hype OpenAI feeds us. If I wanted to hear OpenAI’s marketing, I would listen to their material (which I have!). So many aspects practically are just ignored to feed this “GPT-5 is a massive world-changing upgrade” narrative. Claude Code still reigns supreme for coding, but this just ignores all of the current tools. He goes on about how big a deal reasoning models are and how there’s a “democratization” now, even though DeepSeek has put it out awhile back. Not to mention the number of actual ads which takes up a sizable chunk of the pod. I’m not an OpenAI hater, but I do hate that I wasted my time with this pod.

I work 8 hours per day and commute 3 hours per day, so I have little time to spare. I need a trusted source to provide the most significant news and developments in the world of AI in short order. No one does it better.

Too many ads
You should find a sponsor that will cover each episode. There’s no need to put so many ads in one episode. It’s annoying.

To the point and keeps me updated
Love this podcast because it’s consistent and gets straight to the point of the latest news happening with AI.

Used to be great, now it’s mostly ads and fluff
I really liked The AI Daily Brief when it stuck to quick, insightful updates on AI news. Lately, though, it feels like over 40% of each ~15-minute episode is marketing or irrelevant chatter; intro babble, mid-roll ads, and generic promo speak. The actual AI content is getting squeezed out. It’s become more noise than value. Disappointing.

Good info sometimes
Mostly just some guy rambling his thoughts aloud. But sometimes some useful information, info or insight.

Real value in a noisy space
As someone just starting out in the AI podcast space (NxtG.ai), I know firsthand how much work it takes to cut through the hype and actually bring real value to people every day. This podcast does that consistently.
It’s wild to see folks giving low ratings just because NLW also runs a company or has ads. That’s just how sustainability works. We need more people who actually care about the space and are willing to show up daily with solid insights. Respect the hustle.

Terrific information covering what’s happening today and tomorrow in AI
The most recent episode I listened to was about vibe decoding, and it really opened my eyes to all that’s possible with AI across not just coding that almost every industry and job that even touches a computing platform or smart phone. Well worth your time.

About 20%-30% Ads
The podcast itself is good. About 10 minutes long with 2-3 minutes of ad reads in the middle which is beyond annoying. The signal to noise ratio isn’t as worth it anymore

Best AI Podcast
Nate Whittemore, I am retired and on a fixed income. I love this podcast so much that I bought a subscription to Superintelligent to support you. This is probably 4x the cost of any other podcast I support. I don't really care about the lessons as much as I treasure your in-depth coverage of the business behind all the developments in AI. I know of no place else I can get such rich analysis. Thanks!
