Captivating! A Must Listen!
I wish I could listen all over again for the first time. This was an incredible story and so well done. The storytelling, sound effects, production, interviews, cliffhangers were all so good! This podcast is in my top 5 favorites of all time. If only I could find another one as good. A must listen for sure! I recommend it to everyone I know who enjoys podcasts.

Great podcast
Great Podcast, Thank you for sharing your story & experiences! wishing nothing but the best for the Flores families! Such a shame the way our system works, you guys took accountability, broke the cycle so that your children don’t have to go through what you had no choice about as youth to go through. You can not erase the past but only move forward with your experiences.

Amazing
This was phenomenal. By the end of it I felt like Pete and jay were my friends and I’m sad it’s over. I would love to know how their family is doing now. What a beautiful story of redemption.

Incredible, One of a Kind Story
Charlie and Curtis bring to light the most interesting, incredible and inspiring story about the Flores twins and their family’s unique perspective on giving up being highly successful drug dealers to risking all for the chance to give their kids a better life. I loved every single minute of this podcast. The courage, resilience and love this family has is rare, remarkable and an inspiration. Who - in their shoes - would be brave enough to do what they did? After listening to their story, I’m thinking nearly nobody. So grateful for this podcast. One of the very best!

Surviving El Chapo listeners
Throughout our podcast, we have taken accountability for our actions and have shared the suffering we endured as a result of the life we lived. We have never made excuses we simply told our story as we experienced it at the time. The reason we chose to share our story was not to glorify our past but to serve as a deterrent. We wanted to give people an inside look at what a real drug trafficker’s life is like not the Hollywood version, but the reality. We shared our struggles, our regrets, and the suffering that our children and families went through in the hope that it would make others think twice before going down the same path. There are many people who share their experiences from the perspective of suffering due to addiction, and their voices are important. We are simply sharing it from a different side the perspective of those who were involved in the business but ultimately made the decision to walk away. Our goal is to reach those who are still caught up in that life and show them that change is possible. I understand that not everyone will agree with our perspective, but I want to make it clear that we do not disregard the pain caused by drugs, violence, or addiction. Today, I do everything I can to fight drug trafficking and help prevent others from making the same mistakes. That being said, we appreciate all of your comments and perspectives. Season 3 is on the way, and we will be doing live Q&As where we can have an open and honest discussion about these topics. Looking forward to engaging with you all. Thank you for listening. Jay

Grandiose thinking + disgusting victim mentality
It’s very hard to listen to the twins and their wives painting themselves to be heroes who are “sacrificing” and sad victims when they *CHOSE* to spend YEARS living in luxury off MILLIONS of drug money they KNOWINGLY earned from selling drugs to addicts whose families/children suffer so much from the addicts’ drug use. The boasting about how many kilos of drugs they moved as if that’s something to be proud of?!They only decided to “sacrifice” and leave the cartel when it suited THEIR own interests. Disappointed that the host never once challenges their warped and self-centered points of view and offers an unbiased perspective.

This is by far the best podcast I’ve ever heard… And I’ve heard a lot😆 The way the twins told their story was like you were a fly on the wall, watching it all happen😱 So good!

Worth a listen but repetitive
You can almost fast-forward all the parts where they talk about how they did it for their family. The interesting parts are the insider knowledge they have of the drug trade and their personal story as twins, but it’s hard to understand the way they talk so I’d suggest following with the accompanying transcript. I wish there had been more interviews of law enforcement because they seem to care more about themselves, their family than the lives and families their “business” has ruined and it desperately calls for perspective. Having said that, what a feat to have gotten interviews with them. I wish it were better edited but it’s still worth a listen.

Eye opener!
I have heard both seasons at least 3 times each. I have like 100+ questions!Do you guys realize how far up these twins were in the cartel?! I mean the secrets they know about how Mexico’s government really works! All the corruption that is involved and how unfair it is. I mean they know exactly how the drug arrives in the US. They know who can be bought, border patrol officers, police officers, etc. Let that sink in for a minute. It crazy to think that after all that they were able to survive such a corrupt system. While I believe that 14 years was such a long sentence, the degree they both went to help the US government should have allowed them for a more reduced sentence, but it was all a part of God’s plan. While separation while incarcerated was hard for them both God knew it was best for each of them to truly find themselves. He was preparing both of them for their paths. Hearing their children is heartbreaking. They have lost so much time without them but they are now better father’s because of it.

My favorite podcast
Surviving, El Chapo remains my favorite podcast. I finished it months months ago but forgot to leave a review. This podcast is captivating and so well done that I feel like I know the twins and their families.

Riveting from start to finish
It’s riveting and is so much more than just true crime, and it’s certainly not glorifying drug trafficking. It’s honest, heartbreaking, shockingly brave, nuanced, human, emotional, WILD, and surprisingly warm at times. The pacing of the episodes and the way Peter & Jay & Val & Viv tell stories is masterful. 10/10

Great production
Great production but the twins and their wives really don’t seem that remorseful for the life they led at all. Still excellent podcast.

Transcript Please!!!
Love the show but I've found I'm missing 15-20% of the dialogue, and that's listening closely. Every transcript I've found is missing at least 25-30%. I'd really like to be able to better understand what's going on!

A+
This podcast is AMAZING! Every episode is so well done, so well laid out and so very good. I am almost through Season 2 and I’m hoping there might be a S3! I would love to produce this as a feature film, but I’m sure someone else has already purchased the rights and is currently developing it. Thank you, 50 Cent + Charlie! You two are excellent. And thank you, Jay + Pete, for opening up your life story for the world to hear. Much love + respect to you and your families!

BEST PODCAST
The detail, narrated by the Flores Twins! I have heard both seasons several times ! I recommend you hear it!

Good but REALLY REPETITIVE
Way too much filler about how the twins missed their family. Of course that is super important and totally understand but this is a podcast, we are listening to a story, we get it and dont need to hear how much they missed their family on repeat over and over and over and over. And its of course very obvious they miss their family cuz they are stuck in prison. And i think they way minimized how much they loved their lifestyle when they were livin large. I dont think they should have snitched.

Glorifying
I’m drawn to the narco genre but this pod infantilizes the twins & thus minimizes their actions. Imagine how many lives & families destroyed? …Generational trauma & destruction b/c of the actions of these two? This pod is way too sympathetic on dealers of societal death and destruction. 14yr wasn’t enough, at least 20yr. How many ppl od’d on their heroin? Lost decades of their lives to addiction? The hidden cost to families and the future cost to society b/c children suffering 2nd hand consequences? This pod is produced in a way in which it narrates an excuse story for two really bad dudes who did big time damage to the world.

This was FIRE!
What an amazing job you guys did with this podcast! It’s one of the best I have ever listened to! Thank you for sharing your story in such a powerful way! The twins have a way to story tell in such a detail way that I was able to literally envision everything! The details they would include along with the sound effects were so important to try and be there and try to feel what they were going through! I can’t wait for the Documentary on this! This should def win an award!!!!! Sending a huge Shout out from chi-town💨stay blessed. 🙏👏👏👏

Lord bring these families back together!
The twins and wife’s are braver than I could ever be! I know they made horrible choices in the beginning of their life but making right choices now is what is important! I pray that your families can heal and be together! To the wife’s … man I am praying for you both 🩷 Stay strong ladies! You are loved and needed!!

Good BUT!
Who sound edited this? They sound like the mumble brothers plus they are way to long winded. Good story though

What a story!!
This is an amazing story from all sides. I do observe that US Government was clear as mud in what was offed to PnJ and family. Honestly these prosecutors appear to be shooting fish in a barrel by going after your wives as y’all get out. I truly believe there are others out there they could spend their time going after, such easy game getting your wives. Please don’t get me wrong, wrong is wrong. I’m sure a conversation could have happened regarding charges to your wives. To come at your house so aggressive when non of that has been reciprocated on your side, I mean really, our tax dollars at work, yes I’m annoyed. I wish you all well, life will bless you in the changes you have made. Be well all

Stories are different 🙄
In the wives book it say he died at a car wash so why here is it at a hair salon, can’t believe what they say 🤬🙄

An absolutely riveting rollercoaster!
I’d heard of El Chapo of course, but I’d never heard of the twins. Listening to their story in their own words, in their own voices, is riveting. The twins are charismatic, honest, and a bit cocky, and they are also loving dads, brothers and husbands who do whatever they can to make it back home to their families. Their rollercoaster lives had me on the edge of my seat! Hearing the anguish in their voices and the voices of their wives and children’s of not just their their work and incarceration, but also their decision to turn on the most notorious drug lord in history is absolutely fascinating!

What’s the lesson here
Growing up in the inner city I’ve seen first hand how someone can get caught up in the drug trade or organized crime in general. I applaud them for wanting a better life for their kids. After listening to the price they had to pay to become a voluntary US informant I would imagine they regret their decision and anyone who contemplates making that choice, upon hearing this podcast, wouldn’t chose it either.

We’re supposed to feel bad for drug dealers?
I’ve listened to all of the episodes and just can’t anymore. They make these guys out to be some type of heroes, they are criminals and snitches. They are not good role models, not good parents, not good people. Man it is exhausting listening to them play victim over and over sort of ruins the story.
kinggriffey24
No trust
I think the government did them so wrong after what they did to bring down El Chapo die just goes to show you you can not trust our government
