I came for the performance science and running knowledge but stayed for the vulnerability and sex jokes. David and Megan are hilarious, their vulnerability is refreshing and needed in these social media days, and the amount of endurance and overall fitness improvements in my life taken from this podcast is insane. It’s interesting that you experienced health anxiety at WS. I’ve been meaning to ask about this very topic. I deal with health anxiety while on runs routinely. I never really knew if other people experienced this so it’s reassuring that a top athlete deals with such things. I am particularly fearful or running on heat and how it might negatively affect me. I am very interested to know more about this issue! One part of me wonders if it is the brain/body trying to get you to stop- not because you are dying but because the body always prefers not doing incredibly hard things.

Unpleasant!
Being professional athletes and coaches I can’t believe how unprofessional and immature these two are. It’s really annoying to listen to all the sexual content, their personal lives and other gibberish. I feel like I’m listening to two high schoolers. I like the running content though and appreciate the science, but it’s becoming very unpleasant to listen.

I just ran my first 100 over the weekend. I listened to the high carb episode after I saw the clip of David finishing his recent 50k. The information I got on high carb fueling and caffeine changed my whole race. I drank A LOT of redbull along with caffeinated everything and found out i needed to double my carb intake and I finished in 9th place. I made these adjustments 2 weeks before my race, right on time! This is a super fun podcast to listen to and you get some amazing information at the same time. Thank you!

I am not an athlete
I am not an athlete or runner, yet I love listening to Megan and David! I learned of the podcast when David was a guest on The Rich Roll podcast. I enjoy their energy and banter. I am learning a lot about high carb fueling but also about interesting studies that they discuss. What I enjoy most is David’s love for every one; he says it often and I can feel it.

Best Running Pod in the Airwaves, Best Vibes on the Trailways
Ran Blue Sky with David a couple years ago. We were neck and neck - till we crossed the start line! Tried to hazzah him on an out and back but barely had time to catch a glimpse of the blue and pink onesie as he wizzed by. Got to meet him and Megan before the race and the love and kindness is just as strong in person as they portray on the podcast. As a queer/non-binary runner, I appreciate their advocacy of inclusivity in the sport. Anyone that thinks there is an inkling of a fake front to these wonderful humans has caught a wiff of their own insecurities. Love you guys! Love the pod and the science you bring to the sport and the honesty you provide about your own journeys. Keep banging your drum.

He has Certainly Changed After Getting Brain Damage From his Accident!
Just found out that he lied through photos that were from a previous, worse, ankle sprain that he posted to make his Big Alta DNF ankle sprain look worse. There was no reason for this, everybody was ok with him dropping out and it all made sense. Also he has never posted/recorded one of his super fast workouts on his Strava with gps to prove it. Only treadmill numbers. The workouts he claims to complete are just suspiciously fast. I don’t get it as there is no need for him to be that fast for say mile repeats as an ultra runner. All things considered, this guy needs to just chill out and be normal. He could just be a normal ultra runner and still have his YouTube were he posts about his story and training. He could just be a normal guy but no, he needs to do all of these things that bring him hate? Why? Dewier Out 🫡

A journey through an egomaniacal takeover
I have been a SWAP follower and listener for years. There’s been a distinct tone shift since Leadville, fine, maybe that was short lived glory. Nope. David, specifically, has devolved into a completely insufferable egomaniac. I can’t believe people listen to him and think he’s still humble and all love. It’s all a self serving front. He manages to bring everything back to himself and his absolute delusions. I feel bad for people who think he truly cares for them when he just wants to be famous and known as the best trail runner in the world (who can’t even run on buff singletrack without biffing it). Probably time he changes his handle to @treadmillroche.

Raucous humor, cutting edge science, and good vibes
This was one of those rare podcasts that was love at first listen. My friend told me it was a science-heavy running podcast, which did nothing at all to prepare me for my first episode which almost immediately swerved into jokes about making love to Panera bread bowls. I listen to every episode and subscribe to their Patreon for the bonus episodes there. Cannot recommend enough.
