Nico is a great host and one of the better proponents of free speech. Very conversational style and doesnt over-use the legal jargon.

Incisive and absence of cant. Free speech can not override free association, free religion, and free conscience and free movement. No doubt words/thought balance is sometimes gray. Law can prevent antisemitic action/behavior. However those circumstance in reality are rare. Speech codes are not the answer. Balance is needed between competing interests that does prevent threats to Jews. Threats and harassment are not speech. However make no mistake Islamist ideology and its red/green allies seek only short term distortion of free speech to suppress behavior and suppress Jewish freedom of association, religion and conscience. The antisemitic action and incitement to violence with ultimate extermination of Jews is the goal.

Free speech, due process, and academic freedom are vital to American society, and there are always powerful people (right, left, and center) willing to curtail them. The more defenders freedom has, the better, and this podcast is a great one.

FIRE is the leading pro-speech organization in the US now that the ACLU has wimped out. Each episode feature thoughtful interviews, often with lawyers, pertaining to topics around free speech.

This show is a solid gold mine. The guests and stories cover a remarkable range of subjects, some newsy, some obscure, and all engaging. The host and creator, Nico Perrino, is extremely knowledgeable about both the black-letter First Amendment law and history of free speech. He brings out the best in the show's guests. Whether you're a First Amendment newbie or experienced practitioner, you'll find fascinating episodes throughout.

FIRE is an incredible organization. This podcast highlights the free speech violations in academia that FIRE challenges. Outstanding.

I want to like it. I’m a 1A absolutist. But too many so-so guests.

This is by far the premiere podcast pertaining to free speech rights available for public consumption. The topics are pithy, the guests are incredibly knowledgable, and the host has a voice that could soothe a bucking bronco.

If you want to get a better understanding of the First Amendment which is complex, subscribe to this podcast. If you subscribe, the epsiode with the daughters of Carlin, Bruce, and Pryor is a must listen.

Mr. Perrino always has on interesting and engaging guests. I have learned so much about the many different aspects of the first amendment and how it affects my life every day just by listening to this podcast.

Great to hear from all of these free speech experts like Jonathan Rauch, Baugh, Greenwald, Neier, Lukianoff! The First Amendment is extremely important, but by discussing the philosophical reasons why, morally and ethically, we learn not to just pay it lip service. Great listen so far, Nico! I know your focus is on campus speech, but I hope you guys will find some time to take on the internet....

I have been listening since the podcast on occassion of 100th anniversary of the Espionage Act. Since then I have been engrossed with 1st Amendment issues as well as free speach on campus. As a result I have read the supreme court's case re: Anastaplo, re: Hirabayashi, in addition to "The Great Dissent" and the writings of Randall Kennedy. This program should be required listening by all academic faculty.

Neither left not right, unless you've bought into the lie that free speech is only for conservatives. I look forward to each new episode. I only wish it was daily!

I listened to the whole feed in less than two months. The podcast really balances the content of the episodes between legal esoterica when necessary or contemporary conflicts. Makes any commute or gym day infinitesimally better. Nico has an incredible ability to be charming and concise. Never did I believe he was taking a partisan stance. Rather, like the FIRE Org, they stick consistently to First Amendment principles regardless of party or creed.

I listen to a lot of podcasts--including a lot of legal podcasts--and this one is my favorite. The people they interview always have such fascinating insights. I'll be thinking about some things weeks later and it goes beyond free speech issues, even. I highly recommend this one.

I especially enjoyed the interview of Ira Glasser.

I especially enjoyed the interview with Daryl Davis. I'd heard his story years ago and forgotten about it. Couldn't pick up his book, but watched his biopic. Excellent stuff.

Nico always has fascinating topics and guests who live and work in the trenches, fighting the battles for freedom of speech.

This is a very good, non-partisan podcast that provides good insights about the value of free speech. It deftly explores the implications of what various, "reasonable-sounding" restrictions might be and why all people ultimately benefit from the freest market of ideas we can establish.

So to speak has really found its voice. This podcast is interesting, engaging, and educational. Nico P. does a wonderful job interviewing guests and showing how essential free speech is to a free society.

I love freedom, and I've learned so much from this podcast about the struggles to get where we are today and the challenges that lie ahead, as well as philosophical arguments behind free speech.

A very entertaining podcast concerning free speech. Regardless of whether you consider yourself liberal or conservative, if you care about free speech you will be interested in the podcast.

This podcast shows the real importance of the first amendment. Even if you initially agree with their point, they bring up situations that give you pause and make you re-evaluate your own positions and just how committed you are personally to freedom of speech. All this while maintaining your interest and entertaining you. Nico Perrino is an outstanding interviewer. I highly recommend this podcast.

Really love the range of topics and how accessible the philosophical conversation is of the podcast - even after just the first show! According to their Facebook page, future interviewees will include Glenn Greenwald and Dan Savage so the show should continue to be pretty interesting. I’ll definitely keep listening!
