Amazing Narration and Interviews
I’ve been listening since the beginning; the most thorough historical audio documentary that’s less than an hour per subject. Great job

The best of the best
I can’t understand why anyone would give this show anything less than 5 stars. There are literally no flaws, it is a truly perfect podcast❤️

Outdated information
A lot of their information is wrong, but they recently had an episode on the Stone Age where they said definitively the Americas were settled 15,000 years ago. In 2021, scientists announced the discovery of fossilized human footprints at White Sands National Park, New Mexico, dated between 21,000 and 23,000 years ago—well before 15,000 years ago—using seeds and pollen radiocarbon dating

I will listen to literally anything narrated by this man

Mostly good
I just don't like how he over pronounces the letters at the end of words, then misses out vowels in others (like saying "collapse" as "claps" and "police" as "plice")

Dramatizing history
Interesting topics, but Noiser dramatizes history through an anti-Christian bias. Noiser purposefully left out the most recent scientific evidence that the Shroud of Turin dates back to the 1st century. In its next episode on the East India Trading Company, Noiser demonizes the English for trying to evangelize to Indians. Oh the horror!

Engaging and relaxing
The storytelling is the perfect guilt free escape

Informative, well researched and great narration
Easily one of the best history podcasts.

A little bit of antisemitic disinformation snuck in
This pertains to the episode called the “shroud of Turin” about 2/3 through, they talk about how pollen samples were found on the shroud and sent for analysis. They state “the pollen came from Palestine, around Jerusalem.“ To my knowledge in 1970 Jerusalem was and remains a part of the state of Israel. To my knowledge, there is no state of Palestine. This is a purposeful comment to try and minimize and discredit the Jews historic right to the land of Israel. I will not be listening to this podcast and will let be sure to let my Jewish colleagues know about this as well.

Great subjects
The voice is great and information is digs deeper than most. Love the subtle, minimal sound effects and lack of music. The tone of the show makes the story much more engaging.

Apparent ideological decision
Usually love this podcast, but the recent episode on the Shroud of Turin seems to intentionally leave out the most recent tests which place it at the time of Christ, debunking the 1988 faulty carbon dating. I can almost guarantee that the woman who was interviewed provided this information, but for some reason it is left out. We are left with the wishy washy wrap-up "guess we'll never know if it's a forgery or not, but hey its a nice symbol at least!" Disappointing. Why leave out scientific data which confirms its 1st century provenance?

Short History Of… is undoubtedly one of my all-time favorite podcasts! It’s the show that introduced me to the incredible world of NOISER’s other fantastic offerings. With its captivating storytelling, it deepens our understanding of history while providing an immersive experience that is both fair and enlightening.

Beowulf in England?
I think not, Sweden and Denmark, the only connection with Britain is the old English language.

Great podcast
I enjoy history podcasts and this is a new favorite! I would be really interested in an episode about the dustbowl.

Sphinx Episode
Why not at least mention alternative theories of how the pyramids and Sphinx were built especially after current evidence that has come out this year?

Wonderful podcast
Such a great podcast overall. The Rosa Parks episode is very interesting. However the woman speaking non stop about white people all being racist is a complete moron. No matter the color, creed, or religion, it’s repugnant and low hanging fruit to claim racism in 2021. That’s an opinion, not law. And her proudest moment came when whites marched with the corrupt organization of BLM? Get real.
Quality > Quantity
History as Stories
This show always manages to set a scene. You’re always teleported into the historic context of every topic. From historic figures, to events, to places. The ability to make history feel like fantasy is phenomenal. I adore this podcast.

Spectacular
This is my favorite history podcast. The production quality is wonderful; with accompanying sounds of horse-drawn carriages, striking swords or background chatter I feel so enveloped. Each of the narrators draws me in and I find myself starting the next episode as soon as one ends.

Excellent - but please when I pay for NO ADS, don’t tell me how to get it without ads with an AD!!
Very well written and researched. Super podcast!

Fantastic!
As always, the stage is set beautifully, and the amount of research that goes into each episode is evident. My only gripe is the long pauses between segments—it sometimes feels like the podcast has ended, only for it to pick up again.

I love this podcast so much!
This podcast is easy to listen to, historically accurate and fascinating! Thank you so much!

What’s left of History
Interesting accounts of a liberal biased reflection of historical events.

Dead Sea Scrolls
Any chance you could see what you learn about the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls?! I would love to hear it! Also this is one of my favorite podcasts. Thanks for all you do and share!

Less Awful White Men, Please
I utterly adore this show, but could you PLEASE choose more focus subjects besides historical villains and colonizers? I would love deep dives into more unsung heroes and indigenous characters and cultural bastions instead of so many violent white men who have devastated so many people and places.

Love this show!
Please do a series on KGB/ Cold War !

Get the episodes straightened out
I would give it 5 stars, but I’ve come across several episodes where it says it’s one thing, but it ends up being a repeat of an old episode on a completely different topic.

Can’t get enough!
As a history buff, this is the perfect show! It covers a broad range of historical events and people in a concise and entertaining way. Paul Mcgann is up there with David Attenborough and Morgan Freeman in terms of narration!

Delivery
Great podcast but that sing-song delivery from the Australian woman is brutal.

Best there is!
Love the host. Best History podcast there is!

Great content, poor audio mixing
Just recently started listening to the podcast. Very informative, and topics people usually have little time to read books on. A few quibbles though: 1. The writing often veers into novelistic. Why spend time on how a mother prepares breakfast for her young son (The Korean War episode) and such (fictional?) embellishments when doing just one part on a topic. 2. Generally, interviewees’ voices sound as if they are speaking from inside a well. So hard to make out on the first run, necessitating going-overs. 3. The host doesn’t project his voice adequately for us older folks with diminished hearing.

Simply the best!
Fabulous podcast for history. I’ve tried several others, but this one is the best!

The best general history podcast
By far and away the best history podcast around. Well researched and explained with good sound editing and narration.

“Woke” History?
How is history woke?! It’s history! You don’t get to rewrite history, because it hurts your feelings. Also, if you don’t like the ads, pay the 2.99 to get it ad free. I don’t understand the entitlement, or ignorance of some of people leaving reviews.

Too many ads
I have listened to this podcast religiously since it came out. Always enjoyed it until recently. I understand you need to put ads for a free podcast, but not every 15 minutes.

Best history podcast
This podcast is so well done that I listen to most episodes multiple times. The podcaster has a great voice and his interviews are always on point with great content. I listen to about a dozen history podcasts and this is by far the best.

THANK YOU!
This is one of my favorite podcasts now! I love the broad range of topics, the experts weighing in, the story telling, and hints of theatrics to add to the ambiance. Thank you for this! My history nerd heart is so happy

recommended for curious minds
I can’t think of a podcast that strikes as many wonderful notes as this one does nearly every episode. From the topics, research, narration, production, guest interviews… it goes on. I cherish this show for long drives and slow afternoons.

Vietnam war
When claiming U.S. troops kill 100 of their superior officers maybe cite actual cases and proof in your “short history”.
