Misinformation
I’d like to see yall get two professionals who have opposite opinions, so we can utilize there comments and use both to find an answer instead of one person with that one bias.

INACCURATE
for a ‘science’ show the biases are CRAZY. they clearly ignore many studies to come to their conclusions wildly inaccurate!!!

Good show
I’m genuinely* interested in knowing the 1st guest Verald Halld, a bubbly personality, high spirited, kind soul. What’s her Actual Name ?

Keep on
I love to listen to your voices, ladies! But more importantly, you put together thought-provoking episodes that attempt to use good scientific studies. Case in point: the seed oils episode. You went back and forth between researchers and Kate Shanahan, who demonizes seed oils. She makes it sound as if she is going with good science and finding hidden flaws with studies, but one of the flaws she found was that the researcher took other variables into account. Kate didn’t, and that invalidates her argument. Thank you for following through with that to get at the truth.

Love this
I love this pod it is great cause it is just facts not politics. The answers are non biased to both sides. But please make one on mass hysteria

Fun show!
Thanks for the fun, well-cited show! Wondering if there is any science behind why some people (what I mean is children and men often) are so bad at finding things? Milk in the fridge, lost keys, etc.

This podcast is changing for the worse
Typically this podcast has been great but the past few episodes have really gone off the rails. Especially the latest autism episode. It’s really disappointing and disheartening to hear all this misinformation and disinformation about autism, I thought this show was better. To quote RFK and many other science deniers while dismissing real science and studies that do not come to these conclusions is a slap in the face to those with autism. RFK is NOT an expert on autism. He is not a scientist. Autism is not something to be “cured” or vaccinated against. Society needs to change to be more accepting and accommodating to different neurodivergent people. We don’t need to “cure” and figure out a way to prevent autism. This is horrible to hear and so frustrating. It would be better to have podcasts discuss ways to “cure” neurotypical people. It’s not difficult to understand. People are lowering the stigma slightly and getting tested more, and therefore becoming more diagnosed. We are reaching the “real” percentage. In the past people wouldn’t get tested and never knew they were autistic.

If they only removed science from the name
When you hear the “expert” brought in to explain say, “she just wasn’t human during that time” referring to herself at a previous point, you simply know scientific rhetoric isn’t the point of the show. Perhaps vibes vs? Not as catchy but closer to reality.

This Isn’t Science
I typically enjoy the podcast but getting very frustrated on how political it’s becoming. The autism episode was it for me. You mention RFK and his vaccine “conspiracies”, have 1 “expert” say it’s not possible and move on in about 30 seconds. That’s not science it was opinion. For children under 5: 1985: Children received vaccines for 7 diseases, typically in about 10–12 injections. 2025: Children are protected against 15+ diseases, receiving 30–36 doses, not including any catch-up or additional recommended doses. one “disease” is Covid and that vaccine contains snake venom! wonder why people have autoimmune diseases, myocarditis and now an increase in autism.

Cold In Syracuse
Wide variety of topics. Always an informative show. Would love an episode on hysteria. What exactly is hysteria? And do things like growing anti-trans sentiment qualify as hysteria? Keep up the good work:)

Rigorous and fun
Scrupulously researched investigations of misinformation, myths, and online fads. Fun and relaxed, though. Plus I’m partial to Wendy’s lovely accent. (Rose and Meryl are great too though!)

Unclear reporting of information/Carnivore Diet
This show is alright and most of the time fulfills its objective of reporting scientific consensus on common subjects. Some reviewers (of particular political leanings) get very upset when certain episodes don’t agree with their opinions which is a shame. However, the reporting isn’t always clear and at times very “pop-sci” with some misrepresentations of the actual studies. The episode on the carnivore diet was very unclear and lacking in scientific rigor. The episode spends a lot of time on a 100 year old study of 2 subjects and questionable validity (they even mention this). It follows by saying that the link between certain cancer and red meat isn’t clear (it is), that the link between saturated fat and high cholesterol/heart disease isn’t clear either (it is). That consuming carbs messes with your blood sugar (it’s completely normal and sugar levels go back to normal within seconds). These are all very well studied subjects and it’s a shame they’re reported like this. The episode makes it seem like the carnivore diet isn’t so bad, but at the end they say that shouldn’t try it and give it a failing grade. Just a complete mess on clear science reporting.

Want to love it but can’t
I really want to live this show. The content is great. I feel bad saying it, but I just can’t listen. Wendy’s high pitched voice just grates on my ears.

Great show with great hosts and interesting topics
Refreshing to hear episodes based on facts. We are in scary times with all the cuts in funding. We are losing important research as well as the people doing the research. It’s nice to listen to a podcast that hasn’t given up on science!

Truth is important
So hilarious all the 1 star reviews saying it’s too political - everything is political. And if the well-researched and truth-based content on this podcast goes against your political beliefs well that’s probably a sure fire sign the people you support do not support science/facts and well…yikes.

Irresponsible Reporting
While the science might be good here, the tone and tenor are irresponsible.. the episode on methamphetamine undermines the actual dangers of the drug by featuring a minimization of its risks over a highlighting of its dangers. It’s belied by a lack of nuance and a hyper fixation on data—the focus on statistics (1 in 10 people get addicted) ignores the magnitude of the dangers. While they do give some voice to those whose lives were severely impacted by the drug, it’s a footnote instead of a feature. This makes this reporting irresponsible. If everything was probable by statistics, systems theory would be debunked. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and the terrible personal, communal, and societal impacts of meth are incalculable by simple math. Do better.. this deserves a much deeper dive.

Science matters
The new war on science one is so true and sad. My mom was just layed off because of her big grant being cut, and she’s not alone. I want to go into science and since colleges are being cut I’m looking at out of country options. Thank you so much for making this amazing podcast, even if the findings are depressing.

Fair, balanced and informative
Listening to this podcast brings me peace in the midst of what is absolutely a war against science. The episodes are fair and balanced… I had never before considered that there were opposing viewpoints about the efficacy of fluoride in our drinking water. I finish every episode having learned something valuable and I share just about every episode with colleagues, friends, and family.

This is the Best Science Podcast
Science Vs is a must-listen for anyone curious about the facts behind hot topics. Each episode is packed with well-researched content, expert interviews, and clearly cited sources. Wendy does an incredible job of breaking down complex subjects in a way that’s both entertaining and highly informative. I’ve learned so much from this show—and had fun doing it. Highly recommended!

Meth Destroys people
I found this episode about downplaying meth to be disturbing. It’s not a funny subject, and the proposed research evidence is massively insufficient. The tone of this episode is dismissive; callous to people’s pain.

So informative smart and funny.
This is one of my absolute favorite podcast. So smart and funny! I also really appreciate the wide variety of topics they take on and the first hand accounts they always manage to get. You should totally check it out.

Meth episode
This is an interesting episode. I will say as a defense attorney , I’ve seen the tragedies of meth use after many years- anecdotally, I would say ~70% of clients have struggled with addiction; a lot of person turn to meth when they struggle with serious mental illness and that’s because a good portion are u housed with little to no resources or easy access to mental health medication; there are some people that ended up with psychosis type mental health diagnosis after hard use. Some field workers in the Central Valley get addicted to it because it’s used as a pick me up to do more than 10 hours of pulling crops in the 90-100 F heat every single day and they end up getting addicted. I think the episode just scratches the surface. Getting data from Calif. CDC on drug treatment in custody; dept of behavioral health data will give you a more serious picture of this epidemic.

Best show
I love this show. I love that it’s not trying to confirm the host’s biases like some other shows do, but actually presents the data even if it challenges their own assumptions! I also appreciate the citations! So you can read up on topics yourself.

Really fun & informative
I go for the hardcore science info. I can get it here; the politics against science makes me sick! I can prove it. I love Brooks; they’re the best!

10/10 A+
You will love if you’re interested in cutting through the noise, opinions, and fake news to get to the facts! I’ve been listening to this podcast since the beginning and I never grow tired of it. Wendy and the team never miss. I’ve learned so much over the years and have recommended various episodes of this show to many people in my life. I HIGHLY recommend!

I love this show!
Relevant topics and keep your interest the whole way through. Always gives both sides to the story and let’s you decide which way you want to lean all while giving science based evidence.

Good storytelling along with accurate scientific reporting!
I just love that the citations for the episodes are made available. Not only are they doing the arduous work of writing and researching something for our benefit, but they also make sure that we can fact check for ourselves. The GOLD standard for scientific reporting! 👏👏👏

Used to love this show
Used to love this show and looked forward to every new episode. The last episode about the funniest joke is a COMPLETE miss. This used science, start another podcast if you want to do other topics. Politics have made their way into every episode, most of the episodes don’t actually focus on science anymore, it’s mostly opinions. The host has also started drinking her own koolaid, she’s the only one finding these jokes funny (in every episode) but she’s just chatting more and more of each episode, while saying umm every other word. Looking for something new.

I tried
At first I thought: oh no I can NOT stand Wendy’s voice. Its high pitched tone seems forced and its really hard to stand, then the political buas. Could be a nice podcast but with those two combined is a pass.

Lots of sources, trustworthy scrutiny, fun/silly energy
They always have over 80 sources and discuss the credibility of the studies they use. They cater to everyone’s perspective. The energy is so fun, I find myself listening to episodes over and over lol. Great storytelling and very interesting topics. I love how deep they go too - they don’t leave me with a ton of questions about the validity of the takeaways. I feel like I can actually trust them. Thanks, Science VS!

Wanted to like it
To be quite honest, there are many episodes of this podcast that I love. However, it seems that whenever there is a science question with a political angle, Wendy or the other cohosts have a predetermined answer which they want to prove accurate. Then they bring very scanty evidence for that theory without trying to delve into both sides. And that just makes me question the veracity of all of the episodes. I’m sorry Wendy, I love the idea of the pod and some episodes are truly amazing, but I come here to listen to science, not politics.

Science vs Politics
By chance, I was scrolling through the reviews here and saw a lot of one stars directed at the Feb. 2024 “The War on Science” episode. Obviously, I had to listen to it. And… it’s not wrong. Christianity is the main religion in the U.S. and, unfortunately, Donald Trump has used that to manipulate the voters. His campaign basically told people that if you don’t vote for him, you don’t love god, or god doesn’t love you, and that strikes deep terror within so many. Controlling people through fear is nothing new, not even in America, but editing and limiting public knowledge is a new, and very real, development in the Trump administration. The exorbitant cost of a higher education has already resulted in a population of ignorant, uneducated people that believe whom ever is speaking the loudest and most persistently. Loud doesn’t equal correct, in case you didn’t know. For some reason, people just can’t see that Trump is a mini Kim Jong Un. All he cares about is manipulation, attention and power. Maybe people don’t want to accept that they’ve helped this happen. They’re too invested and can’t turn back now. Cognitive dissonance at its finest. Really, I just wanted to balance out the ratings on an excellent podcast that deserves positive recognition, but now I’m depressed.

Don’t get political now
I have been listening for years, I think I have heard every episode. I am usually impressed by the care that is taken to inform both sides on controversial topics. This latest “War on Science” played more like a paid attack ad. I don’t agree with everything that Trump is doing, but I feel a discussion is owed at the very least. There has definitely been wasteful and fraudulent spending going on, probably in all areas of the government. To just scream that they are defunding science is just wrong, and not in the spirit of the show that I consider one of the best podcasts out there. It’s just not that simple.

Great podcast
I have never reviewed a podcast before but I felt compelled to after the War on Science episode. Fantastic overview and I’m deeply saddened by what is going on and what damage will be done to science research, women’s health, and that of my and other LGBTQIA+’s health.
