Great information but way too many ads. There is close to 6 minutes of advertising in a 35 minute episode.

The amount of ads on this podcast is staggering.
By far the most assaultive ad load I have ever seen on a podcast. This show is more repetitive ads than it is actual content.

Ron’s The Man
Been listening for over ten years. Ron is great and has great info but the ads have gotten brutal and their length keeps getting longer. It went from 2 minutes to now 5 minutes per ad break.

Great and Informative Show, But…
…It is a show for modern mechanics. It isn’t for an old guy with old knowledge on old cars who was a wannabe shade-tree mechanic. If you aren’t prepared to talk OBDII or the upcoming OBDIII specs and scanners along with other advanced diagnostic tools and methods, you won’t keep up. At least this show convinced me, without asking me to, to use a Mechanic rather than fix my car myself It will help younger mechanics on modern cars for sure as Ron approaches diagnostics with logic and thoroughness. At least I can still change my own windshield wipers and Car Talk reruns are still on.

Commercials
Last podcast was 51 minutes with 18 minutes of commercials. I heart has some annoying ones too!

Awesome
Listening on broadcast radio and podcast for many years.
not happy psss off
My source of guidance for all car stuff
I do most of my own car repairs, this is both out of necessity and choice. I am perpetually poor and I like to make sure the job is done right. Ron is extremely accessible and provides the amount of guidance and pep talk that I need to tackle these automotive tasks in my driveway. As far as I can tell this is the only car show whose host actively operates their own auto repair business and STILL WORKS ON CARS for a living.

Aircraft Mechanic Instructors listen too
Great show very informative, positive view point automotive maintenance. Great trade & skill information that applies to aviation, I use a lot of Ron’s information as an aviation mechanic instructor for my students. Especially troubleshooting skills and attitude and approach to troubleshooting.

Hello
Very knowledgeable mechanic. However he pushes sponsors so heavily, to the point of mentioning sponsors at every opportunity available, and then some more. With almost every caller he mentions a sponsor. He must be handsomely paid by these way too many sponsors. Sponsors also change periodically. What was the greatest part, tire, lubricant, etc., this month, may change, depending on who the sponsor of the month is now, as opposed to last month or last year. The commercials are so incredibly numerous, that if I could not fast forward, I would never listen to the show. The show would be so much better, if he just answered calls. Talking to Tom, or listening to his stories are annoying. When he says, “just broken in”, the call grinds to a halt. Stop saying it. Most callers don’t know what your talking about. “Cool Beans!”, make me cringe.

Ron is knowledgeable, but man, let’s focus on solving issues and not fear mongering the future.

Love love love the car doctor
So knowledgeable so up to date on everything so many times I’ve been listening and it’s something that I’m working on in one of my 5 cars. The way he talks it’s like your right there with him such a good story teller. God bless you sir and may he keep you around for many many years. P.s I miss uncle Steve’s stories.

What a farce
A never ending promotion for the folly of electric vehicles and a ten minute commercial for a scan tool. What a waste of time.

EV’s
Ron is 100% spot on regarding EV’s. With 2-8 hours with a recharge, 50 amps per vehicle, local transformer output, highway travel multi-state, city usage at peak times, recycling of acid, lithium raw material constraints etc, etc. We aren’t ready for electric, it’s a fad and it certainly isn’r green. Long live the internal combustion engine!

Good info...but getting too political
Ron is good and practical. Balances pushing his sponsors with good advice. He is getting a bit too politically active. Stick to the current.

Ron has a wealth of knowledge that he freely gives on this show, and his love for people shows.

Great call in automotive show.
I listen in podcast form. Being a mechanic and automotive enthusiast, I enjoy listening to the diagnosis and diagnostic processes of other good mechanics.

Great Show
Really enjoy listening to Ron talk about his day to day in the shop with the odd issues that he finds. Also does a great job of talking to the callers on the radio in explaining it on each callers level of knowledge from weekend mechanic to the novice. Can’t go wrong here.
QBKILLAR
Great man and great show.
Ron does a great job methodically explaining how to diagnose an issue and the thought process. He also gives you a glimpse into her personal life and thoughts. Thanks Ron!!!!

Excellent Radio !!!!
I was immediately hooked, and binged almost every episode after hearing one episode. 😀 Ron has a great radio voice, loves the subject matter, and has credibility. Those qualities make for great radio. I can’t believe my Pittsburgh radio affiliates don’t carry the show 🤬 - Gabriel

Great show whether you work on your car or not
Ron's show is my favorite of all the car-repair podcasts I listen too. He has the right balance of industry news, anecodoes and helping real people with their problems. I particularly love the shop reports he gives just about every week on his "repair of the week". This one is not to be missed.

Great show update
I wanted to do a new review Ron and the gang still produce a high quality program every week I hope it's around for many years to come as it's very full of information how to maintain your car or truck etc

Virtually Worthless
This guy may be a good mechanic, but he’s too opinionated for me. I like Volkswagens a lot more than I like Ron, I no longer subscribe.
