Money Much?
Your puns are lame and you obviously donāt care who hand you ad money or why. Irresponsible.

Less Bias/ More History
Was hoping to just hear some fun history, instead more anti-American rhetoric from those who benefit from living in America. Itās getting old. Just share āridiculous historyā

Like a hitter in baseball
Itās easy to skip more than half of them when they bat .300 regularly.
Ben is enjoyable in his enthusiasm, although often it gets too precious or childish.
Noel is almost unlistenable. He pontificates while being confidently incorrect most of the time which always merits a laugh. Plus the irony of him denigrating people for being specific about pronunciation, while he is unable to pronounce the most basic foreign words merits an eye roll every episode. When he tries to be creative or dramatic, itās a cringe-fest. Stop.
Fact checking needs a boost here as they are regularly wrong on one or two items per episode.
TL;DR - Three out of 10 episodes are worth it.

Monopoly
I truly enjoyed your podcast on the monopoly game and WWII escapes. What I donāt like was your gratuitous slamming of capitalism of the United States while you yourself benefit financially from our very system.
I would love to listen to a podcast without the hypocritical comments about our country, but those are hard to find.
Ours is truly the land of opportunity. If you donāt believe me, move to North Korea and attempt success at your podcast.
Drop the political comments and tell the story. Maybe Iāll come back then

Nelson
6:50 when he first gets mentioned fyi. After that, good stuff

Entertaining
The hosts have good banter and are good at condensing long stories into digestible fun, but some bits get very speculative and subjective without a deep grounding in history. The Aaron Burr episode basically takes the Hamilton mythology at face value, while skipping over most of Burrās real political career and the ideals he fought for throughout the decade Hamiltonās faction was publicly smearing his reputation until that fateful duel.

What
Iāve listened since the beginning and I do have my issues especially with Noel because the other podcast they do with the same group is much better I feel but Noel is not involved and I appreciated them keeping religion out of it unless it was the topic or relevant to the topic but now all of a sudden thereās religious ads almost every ad break. May unfollow if this keeps up.

Just to begin withā¦
This is a fabulously delightful way to access history, including contemporary history making situations. I am continuously dazzled and surprised by the content, the creator, and the guests. I have Tom Frestonās book Unplugged on hold now, thanks to you!
And yes, I have been to to Timbuktu. Actually.

Mary the elephant
If you think of rhinoceros makes a good story check out marry the elephant. She squashed a substitute trainer who poked her with a stick. In her sore truth. They sold tickets for her execution check it out on YouTube. You will do the story. Iām sure how often do you hang a public in a public square

Meh.
Way too many commercials. Boring, drawn-out banter. Awkwardly and unnecessarily inserted biased political commentary which I find loathsome particularly in history podcasts.

Great Show!
I love this show, I get to learn lots of cool history and share it with my friends! I know a lot of people complain about the commercials⦠I just skip them. But the meat of the show is good, accurate history facts and amazing humor. They find some of the most random stuff to talk about, and this is one of my favorites. Thanks for doing everything you guys do!

low effort
This show feels very low-effort. They mention the ridiculous bit of history, but thereās little added context, and the discussion is barely there or doesnāt add much. Is it really this easy to have an iHeart podcast?
coda_o7
All fluff
They covered good stuff but for a half hour podcast itās 5-6 minutes of good stuff. The first five minutes arenāt intro and then ads. And there are simply a ton of ads in this podcast the meat is sparse.

More advertisements than episode
10 min into a 30 min episode and they havenāt started the topic yet. Twenty minutes in Iāve heard about 1 min of the topic and more ads start. I gave up. I donāt mind an as or two but donāt be so disrespectful of my time as this.

Slants left
Lots of potential but slants leftist. Goes off topic way too often. Hosts are rude and self absorbed.
Deleting.

More of the host views than history
I really wanted to like this podcast. But you end up hearing the current day views of the host than you do about actual history.

Ridiculous Ads
I just realized I have been listening for 30 minutes and almost all of it has been ads. They have barely covered anything on the episode topic.

Misses the mark
I like the concept and topics, but your tangents and personal politics leave me searching for something else. Tried a couple episodes, but Iāve gotta move on.

Good, but dang lots of commercials
27 minute show, 13 minutes commercials. What the heck. This wonāt make it into any regular rotation based solely upon that.

Not great
Very disjointed. Hosts go off topic. Expected more.

Just commercials
This feels like a series of commercials interspersed with occasional podcast content

SOOO many ads
The content is fine but 45% of the podcast is advertisements. Way more than other shows. Unfollowed.

One star is too many.
Pretentious hosts, annoying producer, way too many ads. Three strikes.

History: This Aināt It
Iāve been fed this podcast as a suggestion for years and finally gave a few episodes a try, and itās just lame. The hosts spend half the show talking about themselves & patting each other on the back, then they basically slowly read a Wikipedia article but āmake it their ownā by throwing in words like ādudeā or āboooā when they donāt like something, then they add some out of context & pointless modern political comments which literally caused eyerolls.
Hey āDudes,ā woke headlines arenāt history, nor is this podcast, and your āedginessā is circa 1986.
They scored with a cool podcast name a long time ago, but they just donāt deliverābig waste of time.

Victorians get WEIRD
I do remember in the 70/80ās people leaving classified ads for āLOVEā
The funniest was a gay publication in Dallas and my LGBTQ friends would check if we knew anyone š

I love this podcast!
Iām a sophomore in high school and I think this podcast is really fun and interesting whether you like history or not. You donāt have to listen to them in order and theyāre pretty short so you should definitely check them out if you like interesting history stories

Love history
These guys are amazingly full of themselves and their spin, Iām out.

Big Parma episode
Good content, however, the overly cutesy of the two podcasts definitely detracts from it. Unless the
intended audience is the middle school crowd.

Good but too many ads
I love this show and I listen to it to fall asleep, but I often am drifting off and get startled awake by extremely loud ads. If there were less ads, it wouldnāt be a problem, but itās almost a chore to try and keep with the story when half of the episode is ads.
iHeart is a huge network, and to be honest this just feels greedy, especially when there are two-part episodes where all the actual content combined would make one episode. I wouldnāt mind shorter episodes if the ads were less abundant, but the episodes keep getting shorter and the ad amount stays the same.

I heart radio ruins everything
I like the content but the over advertising and repetitive ads completely ruins it. I get it, you need to make money but at least vary the ads.
Just a word to i heart radio, Ill never listen to your pods or stations snd the stupid ads makes me NOT want to consume any of the products
Geoff Bee
Nice try.
Between the ads and the hosts, the show doesnāt hit. Itās a lovely concept but seems to have little actual content of the topic.
SeaSiren11
More content please
Bowing out because of all the ads. I know revenue is needed, but content is needed too.

Interesting Topics
Great and interesting topics⦠but my biggest negative is having the hosts read some of the advertisements. Doesnāt fit well, so maybe having the super producer read them might be better.

Lots of ad
Content is good, but so many ads.

All hat no cattle
Half of the run time is adverts, potentially interesting content puttered about with never ending banter. Squishy hosts who wonāt commit to being defined by any conventional beliefs who want to tell you about the illuminati. Weak.

Molten Gold torture.
I think an episode on race through history on mindset of people that led to diabolical inventions. Why make it so gruesome for so many centuries? How did they (the church) justify those tortures on a helpless person in light of Christ teaching you have heard of old Eye for eye but I say to you turn the other cheek (referring to long tradition of slapping a man on one cheek as challenge to defend your reputation with sword, duel) but turn the other cheek and pray for those who persecute you. What was it like for executioners to have to skin a person or pull out their intestines in public setting. Why pull out entrails as they called it? Who cleaned up mess? How did they not go mad over time?
How much of this barbarism came from enslaving people? What was brainwashing that would have to be done to survive as a torturer or executioner. How did they live in societyāreviled or paid well and anonymous? Take your pick. Lots of rabbit holes here that examine the human psyche. We havenāt lost the barbarism still or have we? The use of rape as weapon of war is so common and horrific. All of it crazy.
I wonāt get started on injustice in our law enforcement and legal system to women who have been raped but only have injuries that could be said is rough sex. Unless they are barely coherent, sign of beating, strangling or torture a woman might as well not bother to report the violence. No blood test to find use of date rape drug or blood alcohol level. Only difference now is be nice to the victim and stall until she gives up or charge her with false report.

Discovered the show about 2 or so years ago. Iāve loved every episode so far, my wife is even able to tolerate this podcast (that is a compliment I promise) have you guys ever heard of The Oyster Wars of the Chesapeake Bay?
