cool stuff/ tweak audio
She chooses great topics and guests— the audio mixing needs adjustment, however, because some of the guests’ voices come through too softly while others are so grossly hot-mic’d that you catch every single mouth sound! 😳 overall she has good solid info/advice

Revenge
As a lawyer with a prior career in medicine, I found the episode on revenge riveting. Dr. Pressman’s guest delivered incredible insight into how our brains react to being emotionally injured and how we can overcome the destructive impulse to injure in return.

Obsessed!
This podcast is a staple in my parenting. Dr. Pressman is eloquent and clear in all her interviews. I continue to learn so much from all of her detailed podcasts. You won’t regret listening to this!

Reliable, science-driven, relatable, straightforward, nonjudgmental
I’ve tried other parenting podcasts (and enjoy others, too) but always find myself coming back to Dr. Aliza and don’t find others as enlightening and as science-backed as hers. Dr. Aliza doesn’t include much of her opinion, parenting style, or even tone - it’s very scientifically driven, which is most important.

AMAZING
Oh My Goodness, Where do I begin! I am new to the Podcast world. I began listening to “Raising Good Humans” in January and intend on catching up and listening to every single podcast! As a mom of an 8 and 12 yr. Old and an early childhood teacher I am learning so much about childhood development, myself, and my children. I love all the guests who specialize in and research the power of play, social media, anxiety, eating disorders, underage drinking, feelings, the list goes on and on…
Empathy, education, and understanding are the core values of this podcast! Eliza, Thank You for the work you do!

A must listen for any parent!
I’ve been following this podcast for the past few years, and as a mother of four littles, I am so glad this content exists. Dr. Aliza uses her platform beautifully, capturing the most important nuggets of information from all of the available research - without any judgement. There is truly something for everyone in each episode, and I look forward to Friday!

So Helpful
I’ve been listening to Dr. Pressman for several years and find her advice to be so concrete and helpful. “All feelings are welcome, all behaviors are not” is such a helpful phrase to remember when my kiddos are losing it and I want to be helpful/connected but also firm. I have 3 kids (9yo, 6yo, 3yo) Thank you!!

Best Parenting Podcast
I love Raising Good Humans. Dr Pressman strikes the perfect balance between academic conversational and practical tips and advice. I love her approach, her clam energy, and her gimmick free branding. I’d recommend this to any parent

Good content but half ads
Like the content but there are far too many ads unfortunately.

Saved My Life
This podcast has saved my life, my sanity, and my relationship with my children. It inspired me to go back to school to be a therapist for kids and their parents. I am graduating in December. Been listening and going to school for 4 years now. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Love the ten tips.
I’ve been practicing similar tips about how to not be annoying that I learned in therapy but it’s a great reinforcement and a reminder of our role in our kid’s life as they grow. To support and be their backup, not to manage and own their lives.
Content is AWESOME. but more and more 2-3 min long ads.

real world advice
I really appreciate the practical advice. The host and her guest give great advice in many of her episodes. I just listen to the 10 tips on how to be less annoying to your children and I definitely recognize myself in many! Being aware of it hopefully help me do better going forward.

Good lord! advertisements!
I have three things to say.
1. I don’t know the relationship between this podcast and the book of the same name, but the podcast host is not the author of the book. Just in case you’re coming here from the book expecting that.
2. The actual advice and content is great. But
3. Good lord, the advertising. So much advertising. like cable TV. It might be 20% the length of each episode? Which would be way too much. But it feels like 75%. It’s aggressive that they literally just gave one advertiser an entire episode to just rant about their product. I can’t imagine how other people endure it. It honestly casts doubt on the hosts fundamental credibility. This much advertising makes the whole show seem dubious and untrustworthy.
I want to like it. Loved the book. But can’t tolerate the sponsorship. Christ I would never agree to making this show this way, no matter how much I believed in the content and its importance.

A parenting podcast i really enjoy
I listen to your podcasts while nursing my newborn at 2 AM every night. I love your parenting tips, especially the solo episodes. The one I recently really liked and wrote notes was the one titled 'How to not annoy your kids'. Started applying some of them for my 3 year old. Thank you for the advice.

Cannot overstate how helpful and formative this is
Updated review:
Dr. Aliza Pressman and her guests offer consistent support for parents in today’s world. I particularly loved the recent episode with Dr. Tovah Klein in which it was mentioned that ALL generations of parents have had a tough time in one way or another, and that focusing on our emotional centering and wellness through whatever challenges arise will always support children. The nod of appreciation for more old-school limits (one sport per kid) was so nice to hear spoken publicly.
I cannot overstate how formative this podcast has been in my parenting. I am so grateful to be able to access such thorough, research-backed support. Thank you so much for this work!
Past review:
Three kids in, I continue to rely on this podcast for research related support or direction. Love the recent content from episodes with Dan Siegel and the Harvard Happiness study. Screen time related content is so incredibly insightful and presented in a way that avoids condemning families for their choices.

Micro-meditation
“More often than not, I’m a parent I want to be. More often than not, I’m a parent that my child need.” Instantaneous teary eyes. I love your solo episodes! And I also appreciate your guest speakers.

This was so helpful !!!
This is my first podcast review. I’ve listened to a few of your episodes and while all are great, this has been by far the most helpful and practical. I wish I heard it before my kids aged into teens. However, there’s no time like the present to improve my parenting skills and in turn improve our relationship. Thank you for the tips !

Giving thanks
Your healing all of our children through your words! I’m so grateful for being an instrument and making me a better mom and human!

Easy to listen
Great information and love Aliza Pressman. I really enjoy listening to her. The sponsor breaks are insanely long though.

Too many ads
I love podcasts and listen to many. This show has an exceedingly high number of ads per episode which distract from the content. There are some good takeaways in the show, if you can rifle through the ads to find them.

I enjoy this podcast very much!
For anyone who wants to improve their parenting skills, this podcast is a great resource. I also highly recommend “5 Principles of Parenting “ from Dr. Aliza Pressman, very well written and informative for whoever cares for their child’s development.

Great podcast
Love the advice without it adding any extra pressure on parents

Potentially traumatizing
In the author’s book, she advises parents lock their children in their bedrooms at night if the children won’t stay in their rooms. She does it in the most friendly and loving possible way — the “door helper will help us so you’re not tired tomorrow” — but it is nonetheless something that could traumatize certain children. I’m sure it will work on some children who are less sensitive, but I would have been traumatized as a child, and it would’ve traumatized my children. She admits a couple of minutes later that most of her clients are people with very intense children who process things deeply. I can only imagine processing deeply being locked in a room at night as a child.
The main advice difference between this psychologist and the typical parent is that the typical parent becomes angry and punitive whereas the host here is just very nice about it. Yes, that’s important, but some children truly need accommodation when the limits are harming them. Adults are assumed to always know best, and it’s just a matter of how you enforce the limits evidently.
A few of the guests have been interesting, but for some reason I never liked the host, and now I know why. I would’ve hated having this type of person as a mother. Unfollowing.

I feel like I am not navigating this journey alone

So disappointing
The episode between everything is possible. We’re so excited for this episode, but I think that the host should go back and read her description of what they were gonna talk about and then listen to the episode. They were completely unrelated. You should’ve just said it was going to be a story of your lives. Completely wasted my hour time.

Thank you!
These topics get right to the heart of what I’m experiencing as a parent of three adolescents. Thank you for sharing so many helpful insights. I listen to some episodes multiple times.

Spot on!
Dr. Pressman is SO spot on with real life scenarios and logical reactions/interventions. She’s down to earth, honest, relatable, and easy to follow along. Love her podcast and book!

Good Podcast Overall
I really like this podcast overall, it provides a far more balanced approach to parenting vs some other podcasts I’ve listened to that go way too far in the gentle/no discipline parenting direction. I enjoy listening and have heard some great takeaways. More what to do in real life scenarios would be great. I would also love it if there was less talk about politics, it comes up often and there is clearly a bias, I just want to listen to content about parenting! Overall, I absolutely recommend this podcast!
