Race & Gender studies podcast of low expectations
Wild that these brilliant critics perpetuate ‘othering’ Hollywood agenda by ceaselessly discussing films through race and gender. POC protagonists defined by race and gender.
We should want more for actors and from Hollywood. Can’t listen to this. Shame.

My Go-To
My go-to podcast for after listening to the morning news. Fun, but not silly. Relevant but not weighty. Still miss the Big Foam Finger episodes.

The only way I keep up with culture
PCHH has helped me stay on top of so many strands of culture that I would just totally miss without it. The podcast has also helped turn me on to shows, artists, etc that I otherwise would have skipped and filter out stuff that isn’t worth my time.

This is a great podcast with valid opinions and even if you disagree you can easily see where there coming from and it is very fun to go back and listen to old episodes
Heck yeah 😑🫡
Long-time dedicated fan disappointed
I’m surprised and disappointed by Glen (along with Daisy and Jordan) promoting Scream 7. I’m a paid subscriber and a dedicated fan of over a decade. I’ve been an avid fan of the core four for years, Glen in particular, along with the rotating guest hosts. I just expect more than this from my beloved PCHH podcast in 2026.

Long time listener, first time poster
I’ve been listening since the beginning—since one of the hosts was the guy whose voice I couldn’t tell from Glen Weldon’s ☺️ I can’t remember his name right now, but he was great, too, along with all the current hosts.
When Glen quoted “Paint a Vulgar Picture” by The Smiths in the Oscars episode I was inspired to write. Thank you for all the years. Keep them coming. I’m joining PCHH Plus right now!

Giving me life!
This pod is uplifting and smart and gets me going in the morning!

Seriously?
When 2 out of 3 of the hosts gave Wuthering Heights a rave review, I lost my trust in their recommendations.

Annoying
Please stop the upspeak. It really stops me from taking you seriously when every thing you say sounds like a question. Be better

Range of Perspectives
I’ve been listening for a few years and I just always appreciate the range of perspectives that you get regularly. Every host is knowledgeable, relatable, and surprisingly funny.

Great addition to my Podcast rotation
Been listening for years now, and I’m always happy to see a new episode in my feed. I appreciate and enjoy the variety of topics and perspectives. Thank you to all involved 😊

Trying too hard spending 5 min talking about the time between when this movie is released vs the 3rd one. Is there an expiration date? And this isn’t resolving anything? I think you may be referring to a different movie. Interesting takes!

Remember the podcast’s title
This podcast has veered from pop culture to focusing on niche subculture-specific topics. It doesn’t have to be one or the other but there’s a bit of a bait and switch here. The definition of pop culture is popular culture not topics focused on subculture minutia.

Great diversity of opinions!
Years-long listener and appreciate the rotating group of reviewers and the diversity of thought and experience they bring. I don’t always agree but like hearing how others think.

They are not zombies!!!!
This was the first episode I have listened to and I have to say, I am irritated and disappointed. I am a big fan of the 28 series of films BECAUSE the infected are not zombies. It is even stated towards the beginning of the podcast that the host understood this incredibly important point, though that understanding seems to be forgotten within the conversation.
The infection, known as the rage virus, over takes the human brain and creates a planning, problem
solving, rage filled creature that is not the undead. That’s what makes this series fascinating. You touched on the aspect of humanity being the true evil, but I think you should have been more specific, men were the evil, over and over. I am still planning on watching this movie and I hope this episode does not influence anyone to skip it. Without the basic premise being understood the options of the hosts should be disregarded.

Great listen
Love this podcast! All the hosts are great and offer unique perspectives. I‘d love to hear their takes on more comedies!

True fun listen
I play a game with myself and the hosts where I try to guess what their reviews will be. Surprisingly the movies I enjoyed are some that my favorites didn’t! Y’all are my break from daily news. Thank you :)

Delightful and keeps me on top of pop culture
The panel brings a range of perspectives that really rounds out their conversations

Misogynistic trash
Your podcast “Sabrina carpenter and the embarrassing truth of dating men” is sexist and abhorrent. You infer that if men aren’t wealthy they are trash, and have 15 minutes session of talking about your hate of men. Unfollowed

I don’t know how it’s so good
Updating my rating to one star because I paid for the subscriber edition and still hear ads for subscribing.
This podcast is more enjoyable than most of the content they review!
And keeps getting better!
Now that it’s daily the average quality has gone down. But it went from six stars to five stars. Maybe not even. The TOTAL quality podcast in my ears is higher so it’s a win.
Love it! Thank you so much for making this!
Revisiting this review after some time has passed, I still mostly agree. I truly value this podcast so much! I subscribed to pchh+ for the first time very recently.

No longer satisfied
Do yourself a favor and don’t listen to Aisha’s movie reviews. If she doesn’t like it, go see it.

A must-listen each week!
This podcast is my favorite way to stay in the know about current tv and movies! Each of the hosts are delightful and I enjoy hearing their unique perspectives and insights. Long live NPR!

Love this podcast and the content covered and agree with so many of the takes. I only wish that the episodes were longer and more in depth!!

One of my Favorite Weekend Podcasts!
Super fun, interesting and smart! I check it out every week to get a line on what’s worth checking out (and find out some things I didn’t know existed). The hosts are smart, engaging and are very thoughtful about their insights. Really well done and enjoyable!

Uninsightful
Generally very little compelling insight into the films they’re discussing. Oddly conservative aesthetic tastes for a group of people who ostensibly appreciate film as an art form.

Steven, stand strong
Thinking about sexual assault scene in Clockwork Orange makes me nauseous 30 years later - I can never listen to that song again. You did the right thing. It may all have a brilliant message, but it’s not worth it for some of us - and that should be acknowledged regardless of how the movie and its totality comes across.

Love this show
Here’s when you know, you really enjoy a podcast. The recent review of Deadman Wake Up (a movie I didn’t enjoy nearly as much as The Core Four) made me happy just listening to THEIR enjoyment of it. That is saying something! Always a great listen and a great time when they branch off with other reviewers as well.

Where are the LGBTQ related shows and movie reviews?
Always seek out your reviews to decide whether to stream/see or not. Starting to ponder whether your reviewing staff has stopped reviewing popular LGBTQ programming offerings ? Like Boots and Heated Rivalry. Kept waiting to see your thoughts on Boots since its release and ..nothing. So making me wonder hmmm. What gives ?

Love you show but…
I’m shocked you have not yet done a review of the secret lives of Mormon wives or dancing with the stars! Those have been such major pop culture moments in media!

Pearl clutching about kids movies
You sound like the moral majority in the 1980s with the pearl
Clutching about hidden messages in Zootopia. Just the other side of the anti-free speech, think of the children coin

Great show
Thankful for the various people they bring on and opinions! It’s always fun to listen to them dissect a film after catching it on the big screen. Very comforting show to listen to!

My Go-To Pop Culture Podcast
I love all the different personalities of the critics and appreciate how they look at a project from every angle. They are never mean and just a joy to listen to! My mornings are not complete without a cup of coffee and a new episode of Pop Culture Happy Hour

A podcast which delights!
Do you want a podcast that’s funny without being mean or cloying? Smart without snark or pretentiousness? Thoughtful without lapsing into cliches? Pop Culture is it! I look forward to every episode - the hosts and guests are groovy, real, thoughtful and fun. Dig it!

The Perfect show while getting ready for work!
I love to be “in the know” about pop culture and this show covers it all. I love the hosts. They are smart, witty and insightful. I have decided to watch or listen to something based on their recommendations and have usually been pleased. All within an entertaining 18-24 minute episode!

A Light In Dark Times
Why do I love this show? One word: Glen. You want two? Glen Weldon. Only one man could turn Gilligan’s Island Paradise into a cannibalistic village vying with Westeros for death rate, and yet make you laugh hysterically while doing it. For the record, the Venn diagram of people rooting for him to become a judge on Drag Race now firmly includes me, so widen that cheerio to an inner tube and let’s go, pithy puns!!
Bring me anything that Glen Weldon comments on. I’m fully in.
Thank you for this podcast, it has truly become a light in these dark, dark times.

Truly one of the best pop culture podcasts
I have been listening to PCHH since the early days - since the pop quizzes and days of Trey Graham! And I still listen every week, frequently bingeing several episodes in a row to catch up as life will intervene. It stands as a great way to find new entertainment, whether it’s music, movies, or TV…and more! The hosts feel like my friends…and I know that can sound creepy, but I mean it in the best possible way: these are people I trust to bring me thoughtful news about entertainment and to suggest new options to explore. Listen and enjoy! You may not agree with every review, but I always appreciate the differing perspectives and enjoyable conversations.

Love PCHH
PCHH is a treasure! I love the wide variety of things they review and the fact that they’re not above loving (or hating) any type of pop culture. Always entertaining, even if I’m not remotely interested in what’s being reviewed.

A must for any pop culture junkie!
Been listening to this show for years (since before it was daily!) With so much pop culture content, listening to this helps figure out what is worth consuming. My opinions almost always align with @Linda Holmes, so I really rely on her tastes and takes.

Must Listen
This show has been my one true “must listen” for however long it has been running. The hosts are all great - smart, funny, and willing to try all types and genres of pop culture. I love the four main hosts but also really appreciate how they regularly bring in other voices to keep things fresh and to hear from as many perspectives as possible. Truly a great show. *Chef’s kiss*

Exactly what I needed
I just wanted to hear some smart people talk about my girl Taylor’s new album… I knew exactly where to turn and Pop Culture Happy Hour did not disappoint. They gave me the perfect dose of analysis I needed!

My Go To for Pop Culture
I love listening to this podcast because they really truly know what’s up. How many times I’ve questioned whether I should see this movie that show and they give their honest opinions. Plus because of them our family has made “Taskmaster” a must watch especially since my kids (like a lot of their generation) don’t watch TV.
