Ben and Tommy have a real gift of being able to translate complicated global events into something human and understandable and to connect the dots for listeners who feel the horror of what’s happening in the world but don’t necessarily have the expertise to articulate it themselves. Ben’s unfiltered response to the human cost of this asinine war of choice in Iran in the latest episode (“Trump Begs Allies to Clean Up Iran Mess”) brought me to tears. This moment deserves that kind of rage and as ever I appreciate his ability to lend an intelligent voice to what so many of us are feeling but struggle to put into words. Keep fighting the good fight. You are a loud voice on the right side of history.

It is important to hear well informed experts passionately analyzing the the war. It’s something we are not hearing in mainstream news. Thank goodness we still have excellent independent news- we need to share, share, share.

Great hosts that really know what they’re talking about. Helps me gain a better understanding of international affairs. Ben and Tommy are the best, and this show has the best intro music around!

I don’t necessarily agree with every opinion, but the news stories are presented so I know what is happening in the world from a US perspective. The humor is an added bonus when it feels like everything is just imploding.

I look forward to this podcast every week for a realistic, knowledgeable, slightly cynical and comic view of the tragedy in our country. Laughter is the best medicine and Tommy and Ben bring both humor and humility to our sad state of affairs.

This is a great podcast, and I listened to every episode. It is interesting and entertaining, while still being informative, helping to analyze and explain events around the world.

This podcast used to feel genuinely progressive and ahead of the conversation. Over time it seems to have drifted into a space that feels oddly out of touch. The discussions feel dated and disconnected from what people are actually experiencing and talking about today, or at least what I want to hear.

I’ve listened to PSA content for years. I’m unfollowing everything today. PSA is not journalism and takes money from the very corporations they criticize on selective podcasts (Meta Ai, most recently). They’ve sold out entirely while also NOT doing real journalism.

Always look forward to listening every week but super disappointed to hear the lack of criticism of the US men’s hockey team. was reminded again that these two are men with their blind spots. It should not matter that these are 23 year olds — they are exceptionally accomplished athletes representing their country and all they are being asked to do is not laugh at a misogynistic joke. Really is the bare minimum. Especially for men who flaunt their daughters and status as fathers to repair their images. Making excuses for grown men, especially those with influence, is a huge part of the problem - and the failure of other men to hold each other accountable or even criticize one another respectfully is why we still have jokes like these being made in public without shame and without repercussion. Really disappointed. Please do better.

I used to think this show had a great perspective, but it’s becoming increasingly out of touch. Ben especially spends way too much time reminiscing about his brief time doing foreign policy in the Obama administration. Everything he says is filtered through the lens of what international politics was like nearly twenty years ago. Tommy isn’t much better. Also, despite being called “Pod Save the World” the bulk of the show is focused on the U.S. and much of it just ends up becoming a rehash of the latest “Pod Save America” episode.

I do really love this show. But I am let down and disappointed by this company’s fervent defense of the men’s US hockey team. Men always defend each other and it’s never their fault. It is this defense “how could they have EVER stood up to HIM” that leads to the misogyny of the United States. The men of the US hockey team should have done better and so should the men of this podcast.

I love the show but, guys, please stop referring to yourselves, or to Crooked Media, as “journalism.” It is wonderful content but journalism it is not. It is commentary, or maybe just “media” … or “entertainment.” Journalism isn’t “progressive“ nor is it “conservative.” Playing tape of Trump talking while you laugh at him — funny as it is — doesn’t pass any journalism ethics test. Journalism’s strength comes from being unaffiliated with political agendas — and yes, I know the history of journalism in this country, but we’ve come a long way since political parties had their own newspapers. And that’s a good thing.

This and their consistent sports analysis is making me check out for a while. Guys, you are becoming just another version of the prevalent Bro Culture. Please bring the seriousness that our times requires.

I love the show! The hosts insight informed by their experience and curiosity about the issues makes for a podcast that is engaging and you always learn something. That being said, I’m curious to learn why during the most recent podcast on Valenzuela they never mentioned the idea that Trump used military action to take attention away from Epstein Files.

Seriously, hard to find quality indept. Journalism like this, and worth the subscription fee. I’ve become more able to understand and even have IRL conversations that before I’d tune out. Keep it up!

Without representation in any talks, means none think Palestinians are important. A so called War where one side can’t even think about retaliation over their starving people, is not a war. It’s elimination of a people, with torture, starvation, and killing the next generations by killing babies. That is not, again, a war- it is genocide. In many ways it reminds me of the killing fields of Cambodia or the genocide in Rwanda. Not because of the ideology behind the killings- it’s just because of the amount of killing of innocent people. This won’t stop until Palestinians are part of the peace process; outsiders are very clear what are actionable principles and process; and humanizing a group of people that should never be defined by the need to “obliterate” them because they want to live peacefully in the lands they have lived in for generations.

Tom Ricks was 100% right about Ben Rhodes.

Ben (and Tommy) do a wonderful job but I ask Ben — and MANY members of the media — to stop prefacing every development as “terrifying.” Are current events terrifying? Of course. But when we describe or hear EVERYTHING as “terrifying,” (without much emotional accompanying affect), it has the OPPOSITE effect — it dilutes the meaning of the word to the point of meaningless. Mix up the descriptors, but, more important, just get right to the facts of WHY something might be terrifying, horrifying, etc, etc. That would be more effective, not to mention, we don’t need to be told that what the (not “our”) government is doing is outrageous or unprecedented or inappropriate, etc. That’s so obvious that the understatement and repetition is just annoying, but, worse, only ADDS to today’s ever-present anxiety.

Final straw here guys, renewable natural gas? You don’t have to take their money, I don’t need to listen to you talk about war crimes in Israel 30 mins / pod only to take ad money from “renewable natural gas.” Seriously?

I have been listening to Pod Save the World and Pod Save America for a few months now and really appreciate most of the discussions in these podcasts. These can get a bit pessimistic (with no clear positive or proactive call for action), so I’ve had to disconnect sometimes. One recent grief that I have is related to the most recent episode of Pod Save the World, that (finally) addresses what’s happening in and with Venezuela. As a Venezuelan that’s been in the US for a very long time, I expected more from you all when it comes to this topic…and not a myopic take on current events based on ideologies. I get that this is a left-leaning podcast and I’m in it for most of it BUT what’s happening in Venezuela…and what’s been going on there for the last 25 years or so has destroyed the country and forced people to flee the absolute chaos and lack of opportunities. An authoritarian leftist government is no better than where we are headed in the US with the right. In fact, there are so many parallels, it is scary because Venezuelans clearly lost. And while I don’t condone wars or occupation of any kind, the situation is much MORE complex and grave.

The more time goes by, the less energy these two put into analyzing Isreal. Blame Jews first then fit your logic around that.

I’ve been a subscriber to PSW and PSA for at least 5 years. Have always enjoyed it even if I didn’t fully agree. Lately PSW has turned into “Israel bad” no matter what. Quick hint: why never any talk about Qatar’s involvement with Hamas? I just can’t listen to the one-sidedness anymore. Good luck, and goodbye.

These guys know so much about how the Government actually works, or how it should. Wish they would have stayed involved and maybe even run for office! I have loved them since the days they worked in the WH! Was impressed with them then and even more now!
