I hope the hosts aren’t taking the negative ratings seriously
This is a lovely recap podcast and exactly what actual fans want to hear. I hope the hosts ignore the naysayers and continue on with being true to themselves

Conflicted…
I keep trying to love this show. There are so many fun aspects that I do thoroughly enjoy, but then they slip into the negativity..
I understand processing through storylines and not everything will be perfect and wonderful. But I feel like there’s a lot of bitterness these hosts have under the surface towards their own show. Which is fine, but doesn’t make for a lighthearted listen like I was hoping. But maybe seek out some counseling or something? Gees!
Also, I don’t understand why they keep looking for everything wrong with the shoe in every recap episode, which by the way, are few and far between. I swear they keep forgetting this was a) a kid’s show b) the 90’s/2000’s. They keep trying to hold it up to today’s standards of television, but that’s like comparing apples to oranges. If you hate the show this much, why do a podcast on it? I digress…

Amazing pod series!!!
Keep the series going!!! I enjoy every minute of it. Commercials are a bit long but that’s what the “skip 30 seconds” feature is for. Thank you for taking your time to make this podcast…. Truly the best and the only podcast I listen to :)

Such Great Nostalgia
TGIF was such a huge part of my childhood. Listening to this podcast brings back so many great memories watching the show and hearing all the behind the scenes stuff is so fun and entertaining. Love the Podcast!

Killing a great show
Listening to pretentious Rider Strong and having this cast dump on the show has ruined this show i loved growing up in the 90s. Never meet your childhood hero’s. Thank you Will and Danelle for trying.

Like show, hate the ads and Magical Rewind
Having Candace Cameron on is disgraceful and such a weird move I can’t understand the logic. I hope you don’t try to claim allyship after this.
On to pettier issues. The ads take up as much time as the show now and I didn’t subscribe to Magical Rewind and really don’t want it in my feed. Also weird that Rider is talking about using unethically sourced AI to help his writing process, but then critiques the writing of the series. I do appreciate having the writing examined and taken seriously but it’s just weird to me to use ideas from a machine that has stolen other writer’s work.

Love it
I love this show. I loved BMW so having this as kind of an excuse to rewatch has been great. I, apparently, need to watch with Will though, because I never spot the lobsters either!

More “It Came From Reddit” please
I love this new segment. Will’s hard boiled voice over and Danielle and Rider trying to come up with different voices for the other characters as well as the melodramatic presentation is hysterical.

Another review
I have already written a review however, there is something I need to say I have just started the podcast and I realized with Danielle‘s explanation of the red front door and how the kitchen door is to the back of it. I am now team backyard instead of team side yard but it really I just I love this podcast so much.

GOAT!
I love this podcast. These three have a great chemistry, we don’t and didn’t need Ben (Cory). The guest they have all have great stories. I find myself rewatching BMW multiple times a year, every year for about 20 something years now. This podcast will be getting the same treatment. There will never be another show or podcast like this one.

This is my absolute favorite podcast. The nostalgia to my favorite show of all time, the all out laughter from listening to these three. Thank you for this!!

I did not subscribe to Magical Rewind. Please make this a separate show and stop auto playing it when I listen to the shows I ACTUALLY subscribed to. I am 15 minutes into today’s episode and already skipped 9 minutes of ads. Officially unsubscribing

Insane amount of ads
They make fun of people who complain about the amount of ads they run. But it truly is absurd.

Used to be ok
Just like in the show 30 years ago; the hosts have checked out. They used to recap the show. Now they go on whatever side quest they can think of to avoid recapping the show.

Love this!
Like probably all the listeners, I grew up with BMW as a 90’s kid and have continued to watch into my adult years. It is one of my all time favorite shows. I’m really enjoying the pod, particularly the discussions on mental health and how you 3 were affected by being on the show at such a young age. It seems like you have learned from Office Ladies on how the pace the episodes and I love it! Thank you to Danielle for keeping the conversation organized and on track. I just love listening to you three talk, it’s so comforting to me. Can’t wait for alllll the episodes to come!!
Edit: Absolutely loved the collab with Office Ladies, my other favorite podcast. Never imagined my 2 favorite shows would merge worlds! Amazing!

Hands Down the best podcast you will listen too!
This isn’t something that I normally do, but I love this podcast so much I just had to leave a review. As a family we were hooked on Boy Meets World. We would sit as a family and watch every week. Now the kids are gone, I’m not 30 anymore, but we all still have great memories of watching Boy Meets World. To this day 30 years later, we still use lines from the show in our conversations. When my daughter found this podcast and told me about it, I just had to give it a listen and boy was I hooked. Danielle, Will and Rider are so great together. Their friendship is what makes this podcast a must. From the real discussions on topics and episodes where they get real on the podcast, to the fun banter between them, I find myself laughing along with them. Their interviews with people who were one the show either on screen or behind the scenes are great and the pod swaps and interviews with other shows of the 90’s are great too! If you haven’t listened and you loved Boy Meets World, or if you are just looking for a fun podcast with three amazing friends and human beings, then this is the podcast for you!
One last plea in hopes that Danielle, Rider, Will or Jensen (husband of the podcast) actually reads this, please don’t end the podcast after season 7. Keep making content! Your fans will keep listening!!!
Thanks for doing this and allowing all of us just a little glimpse into all that is your remarkable friendship and chemistry!!
I will be a true fan for life!

Boy meet world
I grew up watching the show . I have best friend name Sean . . My name is Corey
Savage corey
I’m a 2000s kid but loved the show
When I was like eight I was watching girl meets world cause I was like “cool! I like the airplane and and am extra intrigued” having absolutely so clue that it was actually a spin off of Boy meets world. My older brother was the one who told me that it was and my parents confirmed, my mind was blown. So I stopped watching Girl meets world cause there was plot hole and references that I just didn’t get but figured I needed more context throughout the show. So I asked my mom and she said that she had grew up on yalls show and I watched like every episode in maybe three months (all seven, or was it eight, seasons) and you could ask me what happened after this but in an episode and I could tell you exactly what happened. So then I finished girl meets world and everything made sense in the show. So anyway not too long ago my mom told me that yall had a podcast and I’ve only listened to the first episode so far but already love it!

I LOVE YALL SO MUCH!!!
I have watched the entire show a million times. You guys are my hero’s!!! Danielle, you are my twin I am a perfectionist and really smart. Also Will and Rider, Shawn and Eric are my favorites and Feeny (feeny, feeeeee-ny feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnyyyyy) I love yall so much!!! My favorite line is said by Eric. It is “How about we put the little pine trees on the big pine trees to give the whole store the new car smell!” I am still rewatching them again and again and you guys can’t understand how much I can relate and how much you guys mean to me. I thought it was cool when they put Ben Savages Brother, Fred Savage on one of the college episodes and I laughed bc it was like brothers in real life, when Brothers hit each other. I watched all of the 80’s shows but this is by far my favorite ever. I was sad when feeny moved to Wyoming and the pig Little Cory made me smile. I love you!!! PS. I am also a kid actor who does plays!! I love y’all, thank you for the show and for everything you have done for all of us. All of the kids at school watch weird new modern show and when they say what do you watch I say, the BEST SHOW EVER BOY MEETS WORLD! Thank you!

Love the actual recap episodes!
Like title says, I love the actual recap episodes so I mainly stick to listening to those. The hosts have great chemistry and bring interesting points of view to the table! What I’m not as much a fan of is the random episodes that have absolutely nothing to do with BMW and have ads totaling the same or more time than the actual content. I get they have to make money, but some of the episodes seem like they were made just to have more ads.

Aloft!
The natural, enjoyable charisma and chemistry between the hosts sets this podcast aloft, high up above the tangled noise of other podcasts. Danielle, Will and Rider analyze episodes, themselves, and life in general. Truly a delight to listen to.

Danielle, Bestie, was the wrestling metaphor really necessary for Bonnie’s intro? I thought I was having some sort of a stroke it was so meandering. The wrestlmania weekend was delightful tagging along for your adventures. But maybe we take a break?

GRUMBLE GRUMBLE COMPLAIN! some of these reviews are insane… i think you guys are doing great! i’ve listened to every single recap episode thus far (i’ve even restarted the pod from season one during breaks!) i appreciate this pod as it gets me thru tough times and makes me laugh so much 🫶 i don’t care if y’all dissect every detail of the show, i find it enjoyable and many fans do the same thing! pointing out silly details in sitcoms is one of my favourite past times. i still enjoy the show, i just enjoy poking fun at it, too. anyway, congrats on 40 million downloads 🤍

Went from 5 stars to 2
I loved bmw as a kid. I loved this podcast. I think Danielle, Rider, and Will have amazing chemistry. Then I noticed last year it started to drift. The pre-show chatter became longer and less interesting. More complaining from the hosts and taking things way too seriously. It veered from how it was. Fast forward to today - season 6. There was literally 47 minutes of chatter before they got to the recap. That does include two breaks for ads which are ridiculously long. I thought there was a law against it but maybe that’s just television.
Then a few seasons ago they changed their format to “what do you think of the episode” before recapping it. Why?! I get that the show’s old and everyone has seen it. But other recap shows give their thoughts AFTER. I don’t always remember the episode since it was 30 years ago so in a way they ruin it by discussing their feelings beforehand.
I’m very disappointed what this podcast turned into. It’s lost its light-heartedness and has gone into pure frustration. I don’t mind some preshow chatter - just not rambling on and on. Get to the recap and then discuss your feelings on it. A podcast should not be more than an hour.
I’m probably in the minority here so I doubt anything will change but it’s disappointing to see what it was and now what it is. I’ve gone from being excited for a new episode to fast forwarding through half the show so I no longer listen to it when it first comes out.
Oh also. Super annoying to still be promoting Will’s other show within this podcasts’ episodes

Great show
The show is great I like to break in between recaps. With the interviews with other actors. Hope you continue to do a podcast of interviewing more actors and former actors. After you are done with this one .

Review of Pod Meets World: A Nostalgic Dive Turned Overanalyzed Commentary
The podcast Pod Meets World started as an exciting venture for Boy Meets World fans—a chance to revisit the beloved ’90s sitcom through the lens of its former stars Danielle Fishel (Topanga), Rider Strong (Shawn), and Will Friedle (Eric). The concept was simple: a rewatch podcast where the actors would break down each episode, share behind-the-scenes stories, and reminisce about their experiences on set. However, what could have been a heartwarming celebration of a cherished show has instead become a platform for nitpicking, overanalyzing, and applying today’s hyper-politicized social lens to a series that was never meant to be dissected this way.
One of the biggest issues with Pod Meets World is the way the hosts—particularly Rider Strong—seem determined to tear apart Boy Meets World rather than celebrate it. Instead of enjoying the show for what it was—a fun, family-friendly sitcom with heartfelt messages—they spend an inordinate amount of time agonizing over how the series doesn’t hold up to today’s “woke” standards. Minor plot points that were completely acceptable in the ‘90s are now treated as if they were deeply problematic.
The podcast is filled with comments about how the show didn’t do enough in terms of representation, gender roles, or social justice, despite the fact that Boy Meets World was one of the more progressive shows of its time. The constant need to reframe every episode as some kind of moral failure according to modern-day sensibilities becomes exhausting. It’s one thing to acknowledge outdated moments, but the hosts seem almost embarrassed by the show that made them famous.
While Boy Meets World wasn’t perfect, it was groundbreaking in many ways. It tackled serious topics—divorce, abuse, grief, self-identity—in a way that few sitcoms of its era did. Instead of appreciating these moments, Pod Meets World often downplays or dismisses them. There’s little recognition of how ahead of its time the show actually was. Instead, the focus is on nitpicking how certain aspects aren’t “PC” enough by today’s standards.
Fans of the show tuned in to hear fun stories and nostalgia, not an over-intellectualized critique that makes it seem like the series was some kind of failure. The reality is, Boy Meets World succeeded in what it set out to do—entertain and provide heartfelt lessons for kids and teens. Instead of celebrating that, Pod Meets World often feels like a seminar on what the show did “wrong.”
Perhaps the most frustrating part of Pod Meets World is that it often feels like the hosts are trying to distance themselves from the show rather than embrace it. There’s a fine line between honest critique and outright belittling, and unfortunately, the podcast frequently crosses it. The hosts make it seem like they were trapped in some inferior project, rather than part of a cultural touchstone that remains beloved decades later.
Many fans feel let down because they expected the podcast to be a love letter to Boy Meets World, not a series of complaints about how it wasn’t progressive enough. The constant negative framing makes it hard to enjoy, and it begs the question: If they dislike so much about the show, why even do the podcast?
Pod Meets World had the potential to be a joyful nostalgia trip, a fun reunion of the show’s stars looking back on their experiences. Instead, it often feels like an unnecessary apology tour for a show that has nothing to apologize for. Fans wanted behind-the-scenes insights and lighthearted reminiscing, not a moral critique of a ‘90s sitcom from a 2020s perspective.
If you’re looking for a fun trip down memory lane, Pod Meets World isn’t quite it. Unless you enjoy hearing a show you love dissected and criticized more than celebrated, you might be better off just rewatching Boy Meets World on your own—without the unnecessary commentary.

Whiny former child stars
If you want to listen to the stars of a show you loved as a kid tell you how much they dislike the show then this is the podcast for you. And I just had to fast forward through a 7 minute ad break. That’s just absurd. I also thought they were very rude and attacked Maitland Ward in a really nasty way when they finally had her on the show. I had a huge crush on Topanga as a teenager but now after listening to Danielle over the course of this podcast I can’t stand that woman. 🤢🤮

The nostalgia itch
Show has so much potential, but it’s just not there. Danielle comes off as extremely insincere, rider just is just sad and jaded on the whole show and Will is a positive puppy dog, that seems to be the only one in touch with reality about what the show was. The guests are usually good, which is a positive

Ups and downs.
Will is the only one that is tolerable throughout the whole series. Rider whines about every episode like he would have made a better show

Yes, it frustrates me that they continue to talk about what they would have done. It’s still a very podcast

Pod Meets World is stroughdebryte!
The chemistry of the trifecta of Danielle, Rider, and Will is irresistibly engaging. It’s not nostalgia bait but a genuinely informative and entertaining retrospective about one of the best 90’s early 00’s shows ever.

Pod Meets Samsung™️
Love this podcast but jeez the amount of ads is getting absurd! I need to skip 3 minutes just to hear it start and today I found myself listening to pretty much an infomercial about Samsung phones. Seriously, I’m supposed to believe 3 former child stars are genuinely impressed by a cell phone camera? Lol

Entertaining Monday morning Quarter Backing
Very entertaining trio who’s friendship you get to be a part of. Unlike other rewatch podcasts that are sponsored by the network the show was on, these actors actually get to show their true personalities and share their honest opinions on episodes and their experiences. Plus, SO MANY guest interviews. Funny, informative, entertaining; pretty much all you could ask for from these people. Probably shouldn’t have a “clean” rating though tbh

What I’ve learned from Pod Meets World. . .
I’ve seen Pod Meets World bouncing around the internet for the last few years. I’m not a podcast person, so I’m hundreds of episodes behind. Like basically everyone, the Maitland Ward episode sucked me in, and now I’m rewatching the show on Disney . It’s SO WEIRD that Danielle, Will, and Rider are not only real people - but they’re adults now. In my head, even though I’m 41, they’re definitely still the same people I — totally not at all weirdly — had plastered to my wall. Thanks to living in a crater in Iowa in the 90s, my entertainment news was delivered by print, and I have to find out 30 years later that it’s NOT Will Free-dill. My life is forever changed.

Eek!
Man that Maitland interview was difficult to listen to. I understand where Danielle was coming from, but I agree with the other reviews that she just came off like a bully. I don’t know why Danielle would allow an episode release where she comes off that bad. I thought it was nice that Will took accountability and said that the miscommunication on when the interview would happen was his fault. I support Danielle‘s decision to defend Maitland‘s comments about them in the press, but the constant beating was really really uncomfortable and a little out of line.

Ain’t College Great Title
Menell wrote the episode and I can’t remember if he’s the wrestling lover, but if so I think it explains the title.. during the time this episode came out was when Jeff Jarrett’s gimmick was saying Ain’t I Great all the time so it might be referencing that.

Shame on you
I loved listening to your podcast and reminiscing but you really did come across as bullies in your last podcast with Maitland (although the guys really didn’t get a chance to even speak much without being interrupted ). Your show is listed as clean although you acted so gross in the last podcast, as one of your listeners pointed out to grow up when you kept shouting wtd - so gross and incredibly immature, not to mention your stupid dtf comments before that I felt I cringed through. Get it together. The world is disgusting enough. We don’t listen to your podcast for this. We need a break from it! You should put something out there and address your fans. Until you do, I definitely won’t listen to you again and it’s hard to even watch your show anymore for nostalgia even with a potential apology or explanation.

Love!
Just started this podcast last week and listened to the first 3 episodes without even starting a rewatch bc they’re just that interesting. Started watching along after episode 3 and now I am hooked. So fun and nostalgic to look back and remember the 90s, the fashion, the story lines but SOOO interesting to hear all the background on each episode and what really went in to making the show. Really really enjoying the pod 🫶🏼
