Self righteous guests
I’m amazed at how self righteous some of these guests are. So many talk about not disturbing the environment and not traveling for photography, although this is exactly what they do.
Last is Anna Morgan who’s decided white men environmentalists created the environmental issues because they have too much whiteness and maleness to really understand nature.
Some of these folks need to stop patting themselves on their backs and look in the mirror to realize they have a smugness that makes them sound ridiculous.

Listening On A Road Trip
I’ve been listening to the entire podcast while driving across America. It’s thoughtful, engaging, and keeps me awake on long driving days. More importantly, even though I’m a professional photographer and travel blogger, I’m picking up great tips and rethinking best practices.

I like how you get right to the tips and tricks that you were trying to cover the episode.

Inspiring!
I am new to this podcast, having found it at the end of 2021. I have such a passion for photography, in particular landscape and wildlife photography, and yet I can’t always get out and actually take pictures… And this podcast totally fills me up during those times when I can’t go out and take pictures. I have young kids, and I am constantly shuttling them around… And listening to all of the fabulous interviews in my car makes me feel connected to my passion. This is very well done!

I’m working toward improving my photography but more importantly to enjoy and preserve our environment. This podcast certainly provides information to improve one’s skills but in a responsible and caring manner. Well done!

What a great podcast
Brenda is a refreshing addition to the photography podcast world. I love a thoughtful and less gear centric podcast. Thank you Brenda

Brenda is the Terry Gross of photography interviewing
Brenda invites to her interviews some very insightful and intelligent photographers. With thoughtful questioning she is able to draw out of them their methods and mindset. Listen carefully for the explicit and implicit responses to her, and you’ll hear their respect and admiration for her communication style. Very cool stuff on technical and soulful levels alike! Thank you so much for your work.

Great Nature and Landscape Photography Podcast
I really enjoy Brenda’s podcasts which cover an interesting range of topics including photography technique, outdoor recreation safety and equipment, how to put nature first, caring for our public land, and lots more. It’s great to get a female perspective, hear from a broad range of guests, and Brenda’s interview style and her questions get quickly to the heart of the subject. If you love spending time outdoors and photography, then you should be listening to the OPS podcast.

Exactly what I’ve been looking for…
The Outdoor Photography Podcast is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Not to technical but intriguing enough to keep my attention. So far I’ve only listened to 1 ½ podcasts starting at the beginning and I’m really impressed with the content.

The best!
Brenda is one of the best educators on the internet. Her ability to clearly and concisely explain complex concepts is amazing. Be sure to check out her series on PhotoPills; absolutely the best.
The guests on her podcast are very interesting and I have learned a lot from them.
If you want to learn about photography and being in the outdoors this podcast is for you.

A MUST for outdoor photographers!
I just discovered Brenda’s podcast and was immediately hooked after episode #1 with Matt Payne with their discussion about ethics and nature photography. Every photographer should go to her site and get her manifesto sheet and share with others. As photographers we are in a unique position to be stewards of our natural world, and thanks so much for sharing all the interviews and insights!

Engaging Podcast
I have listened to every episode since it started and really enjoy how Brenda engages her guests. Her questions are thought provoking, insightful and draws the speaker out for maximum engagement. The topics are not the usual technical ones and have really helped me think differently about my own photography. The Tuesday tidbits are quick and an easy listen.

Podcast junkie review
My phone battery take a beating from the back to back podcast I enjoy. With that said, this is perhaps my all time favorite photography podcast. Brenda is phenomenal! I love the content, the guest, and her presentation/ interview skills. I’m always inspired. Five Star all the way!

Great podcast
Landscape and nature photography is a very underserved genre and Brenda does a great job blending tips with interviews. Podcast tends to be just the right length as well. Hopefully it’s a long time before she gets burned out like a lot of podcasters in this genre. Until then I’ll be a faithful listener.

Charles Bergman - a wonderful conversation
Thank you, Brenda for having Charles Bergman on your podcast today. This was one of the most memorable conversations I have heard from any podcast. His love of all creatures and thoughts about humanity resonated with me. I will follow up by looking at his website and ordering his book.

Finding Inspiration in the Texas Landscape with Linda Nickell
Witty Texas landscape photographer shares her tips and tricks for capturing all things Texas. I love the way she covered the diverse areas of the state and described their unique attractions to photograph.

Inspirational
Tuesday tidbits got me on the water of Lake Tahoe at San Harbor with a refreshed perspective. In episode eight, Brenda took the tough concept of composition and articulated a way to think about my feelings influencing the creation of a landscape image. I suppose I have done these things subconsciously, but to focus with her spin let me use my senses to peak the composition. The grand landscape in itself is so massive, to experience one with her “jump off points” allowed me to nail the moment. Thanks for the getting me outdoors, in my kayak, with my minimal gear and truly capture the soul of a unique moment with nature.

Conservation Photography
I just finished listening to your podcast with Jaymi and I’m inspired and will be seriously considering following this path. I love outdoor photography but want to have a purpose for it, not just a pretty picture to show. I’m retiring in 5 years or so and would like to do something with my photography that has an impact. I’ll be checking out her website and the storytelling site to see what’s available. I’ve also subscribed to her podcast.
One thing I’d like to add to the discussion centered around education and children’s science museums as a potential outlet for education, get involved with public libraries. I work in a small one and programming ideas like this would be welcome. Not just for kids, but all ages.
Love your podcast, OPS, and your YouTube channel. Keep up the good work!

Nailed the ticks!
Brenda, I am a fellow New Englander, high school teacher of intro to digital photography classes, live hiking and the outdoors. I also happen to be a partner in a tick and Mosquito spraying business in Southern Maine, so you really “ticked” off all the boxes with this episode. We do a lot of public education on this subject and you nailed it with this podcast. Very thorough and to the point. In a side note, I also enjoy your YouTube channel and series on PhotoPills. I often tell me students to watch content I feel has value and your name is brought up often. Keep up the hard work, it’s paying off. Hope to meet you on the trails some day.

Great content and guests
When I heard about these upcoming podcasts from the Outdoor Photography School, II was very excited. Well, the podcast does not disappoint. The content is fresh, informative, and provocative. I like the questions she asks her guests and find them often very pertinent to my own world of photography. The shorter episodes, Tidbit Tuesdays, are also top notch. Brenda addresses burning topics posed by us, her listeners. Great content, Brenda!

Interesting and informative
This is a new podcast, and it is off to a very strong start. I found Brenda through her PhotoPill Friday YouTube. She did such a great job with that, that I am now able to use PhotoPills. I had high hopes for the podcast, and Brenda didn’t disappoint.
Brenda is very thorough in her presentation, and covers subjects in depth. I have enjoyed all of the podcasts, but especially the fourth one. It is really outstanding, and I listened to it twice, to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I highly recommend this podcast.

Interesting and Informative
This new podcast fills the surprisingly vacant niche of serious hiking and outdoor skills to make landscape and nature photographs. I watched Brenda Petrella’s series about the Photo Pills app so I knew she had serious outdoor skills and an easy way of explaining things. I’m thrilled that she’s bringing on guest speakers and is using a smoothly flowing interview style. I’m looking forward to many more episodes.

Very good, topical, specific
This is a new podcast, from my understanding the creator also has a YouTube channel, and if the podcast is anything to go by I’m sure it is equally useful. The episodes focus on individual experiences of outdoor photographers, hiking, and specific photography gear that could help the listener. I plan to buy a DSLR/mirrorless camera this summer, but even with a smartphone some episodes are still very relevant to outdoor photography in general. The more advanced episodes will help me decide on what to buy when that time comes. Specific topics were explained enough for people who have at least some knowledge, or just google search the terms that you don’t know, but in general this is geared towards beginner/intermediate. I highly recommend this podcast, it is also well made.

Excellent Podcast Focusing on Landscape Photography
Brenda Petrella has been hosting a high quality YouTube channel for her Outdoor Photography School for some time. Her podcast is a welcome addition. She is an especially clear and organized presenter. Not gear obsessed, like many others, she concentrates on insightful presentations on technique and also on general outdoors knowledge and craft. It’s a bit like a combination of your favorite high school science teacher with an Outward Bound instructor. If you like hiking and own a tripod, this is the spot for you.

Brenda does not disappoint!
Am a Brenda Petrella fan girl! Love her YouTube channel and her website (Outdoor Photography School). She covers so many aspects of landscape photography...techniques, gear, safety etc. while emphasizing respect for nature and importance of leaving no trace. The first 2 podcasts were amazing. Haven’t yet decided if I should listen to new podcasts as they become available or save them up and binge listen. Decisions, decisions.....

Great Content!
Brenda’s podcasts are just as great as her YouTube videos. If you haven’t seen them, you’re missing out. You’ve got to check out the ones especially for the photopills app, She explains it so well, I thought I was going to be lost forever, that is until I watched her video.
There are many great photography podcast out there, but she’s one of my favorite on the list.
Keep it up Brenda

Excited for this content!
One of the things that's drawn me into this podcast is the weath of tools available on the website to begin exploring, and learning from - the outdoor photography school had me at hello with their manifesto, and love of nature. I'm looking forward to learning tidbits to put into play while exploring beautiful mother earth!
