Strong recommend
Love this podcast and especially love the different topics discussed so I can learn something new. It’s not just following market trends per se and a podcast version of cnbc like so many market podcasts are.

Welfare queen farmers
Farms overwhelmingly voted for president Trump even after he started a trade war with China in his first term and farmers had to be bailed out because China pulled their soybean purchases Either they are stupid or enjoy the government subsidies I grew up on a farm my father got up at 4am worked the farm commuted an hour to work worked 8 hours 6 days a week and then worked another 2-4 hours on the farm in the evening to keep his farm afloat I recommend agribusiness buying up these small farms and utilizing the former owners to work the farm this works out because of the deportation of migrant workers they can pay them minimum wage 7.25$ in most farm states also don't have to pay them helthcare or benefits

Deep into key fundamentals
Odd Lots gets into the why behind the economy—the real drivers—without burying you in jargon. You can listen and think, ‘Okay… now I get it,’ even if you don’t have an economics background.

Marble-Mouth
Wanted to love this but the male host sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. I can't concentrate. What made him think podcasting was a great idea? Listening to the episode from search engine crossover.

Superb
Not political, rather looks deeply into cost and financial drivers.

Hosts are a little insufferable. When they use words like “flywheel”, I cringe. Pod tries to be Acquired but without the research.

Great Podcadt
I love the dynamic between the hosts and the wide variety of topics and guests. It always keeps me listening until the end!

Great show
The hosts folksy manner belies their own sharp curiosity or intellect on the subject matter. They ask questions that everyday people can understand and you don’t necessarily need to be an MBA to understand the topic at hand. That approach makes me want to come back time and again and learn about subjects that can be complex but are broken down into part I can intellectually digest. That’s what has always made this podcast special and I Joe and Tracie for that. Great job!

Love the hosts, the subject matter, and just the entertaining approach to topics and guests.

Well done
Love hearing the Trump admin called out for their incompetence and lies around tariffs. Keep up the great work!

Great podcast
I genuinely enjoy the intellectual curiosity of the two podcast hosts. Sometimes I feel they could go further in offering conclusions but I understand that it not necessarily the point: the point is to get the listener to think Loved the episode about economic theory. Thank you!

Good info but lots of vocal tics
The biggest strength of this program is the guests along with some vital topics. The biggest weakness is the hosts. Both use “like” repeatedly like they are valley girls. Joe is especially weak as a voice—lots of vocal fry and a “like” an average of one per sentence. It’s a level of cringe one has to get through to hear the guests.

Crypto sponsored content?!?
I thought I was listening to odd lots at first and it was some one sided crypto sponsored content?!? What the heck Bloomberg, why are you dropping 1-sided non journalistic junk on a great show?

Good concept
Joe is a nightmare. Talks too much, interrupts everyone with pointless comments. Hosts need to be better listeners than talkers!

Immediate hit
I used to love the All In podcast for tech and investing. Then it became Trump crazy political. Odd Lots is so good, it immediately appealed to me- the chemistry between the hosts, their humility, the way the break things down to the basics - love it.

Informative
Just awesome! & to the point. Love it

Right wing freaks
I know you kind of have to have these evil conservatives on cause of the climate now but maybe Joe could try not to sound like an excited teenage girl every time

My favorite podcast
My favorite podcast. Tracy and Joe do a great job engaging their guests. I always learn something from the discussions.

More restaurant episodes!
One of my favorite podcasts. “How does the world work?” through an economics lens. (Also do more episodes on electricity!)
bennett_nj
Female host
She sounds like a valley girl, or uptalk style, in one episode used the word ‘whatever’ 13 times!!! Seems like someone raised in a wealthy family. Change your style.

I have to hide listening to you every week because I work in the trades and I can't have my coworkers thinking I wear vests on the weekends. But, the "This is Why Credit Card Rates Are So High" Ep made me feel like an insane person. Speculating that poor people must love paying for advertising and high rates is satire. I would've laughed more if I wasn't busy being irritated. Maybe revisit that topic in the future. Kisses

Honest and interesting
Love hearing it straight from the big fat mouths of the repellent morons destroying humanity!

Nearly Perfect
I’ve enjoyed the podcast for years. So much to like but someone please ask Joe to stop talking over/interrupting every guest and to be more concise when asking questions. It is not charming and does not add value to the show in any way

Iain D. Such a clear thinker
Hearing the details of how HRT works and the challenges of using AI for trading. What a wonderful topic. So insightful. T & J asked really great questions.

Easy Listen & Informative
This podcast has been incredibly helpful as I try to learn more about finance and the economy. The hosts have great chemistry, which makes is fun too. (For the people complaining that it leans liberal: …and? It’s their podcast. They can lean whatever way they want.)

Pronounce
Tracy could not spend 3 seconds to pronounce raghuram rajan’s name properly even with Google or ChatGPT even though Joe said it perfectly

Top Notch!
Finally a program about finance that really digs deep!

Terrible and Fantastic
Odds Lots is an awful podcast and here’s why: I listen to about a dozen podcasts during the week as I walk, drive, exercise, cook, etc. — they are always on in the background. Odd Lots is the only one where I want to/need to take notes! I can’t pull up a notes app or do a voice memo because I am busy! See recent ones with James Van Geelan on the AI buildout and Tarek Mansour on Kalshi. Stop asking so many good questions and pulling forward insights. So frustrating. 🤔(seriously, my only suggestion is to stop and spell out an acronym every once in a while.) Nice work.

Fascinating and completely biased
Fantastic podcast, great chemistry between hosts, and guests offer great insight. The show is 100% biased toward liberal politics, and it is obvious in all reporting. If you value insight into the NYC liberal bubble of finance, this is the show for you, regardless of your politics.

Audio fix
Joe Weisenthal needs to work on his talk! When he starts to speak, he is good and by the time he finishes his statement, his voices go down and we have to adjust volume! Have consistency.

The conversations are always interesting
And the hosts can usually keep them Interesting even when the guest goes sideways.

10 years
I’ve been an avid listener of Odd Lots podcast since the beginning. I can’t say I listen to every episode, but I do listen to most. In November 2025, it will hit 10 years. With the amount of content Tracy and Joe put out, keeping this podcast fresh and thoughtful can’t be easy. As a soon to be 10 year listener, congratulations and I hope podcasts are a thing in 10 years so you hit 20! Thank you for making me more informative.

Great depth and rigor
This show does a great job of going real deep on topics (like the cardboard industry) that help explain the broader economy. The economics content is outstanding and I love how they are diving into specific legal and accounting matters (like the Delaware corporation history and current dynamicsto explain current business events

5.0
I am not understanding who would give this podcast a rating less than five stars. By far the best podcast on tapple.

Informative, but challenge the guests
The discussions are always interesting and have multiple points of view considered. However, when facts are not emphasized and there is no pushback from the hosts (see Liz Truss), the value is diminished.
1Victor22
Don’t Get the Hype
Yes, the hosts are more economically literate than your average journalist—low bar—but their journalism skills are pretty weak. For example, they allowed Liz Truss to refer to herself as being democratically elected by the people of Britain multiple times without once pointing out that she did not win a general election but an election of ~400k Tories after the PM who actually won the general election resigned. They allowed someone who is so economically illiterate that she managed to unite the Brits, who are only slightly less divided along partisan lines than Americans, in deciding she had to go because she was going to destroy the British economy spew falsehood after falsehood with zero pushback for the entire episode. Guests are interesting but do not get the hype about the pod. If you are just going to let guests say things that are patently untrue without even token pushback not sure why you don’t just introduce the guest and let them monologue for an hour.

Great Guests, Timely Topics
Guests are often perfect, and the topics are almost always timely. So why three stars? Because at least once per episode I find myself yelling “Damnit Joe, stop talking over your guests!!!” The show would be so much better if Joe would exercise some discipline and not interrupt and talk over the guests. Tracey’s wonderful, but for the most part, we’re here to hear what the guests have to say. Unfortunately, Joe seems intent on injecting himself and disrupting the guests.

On behalf of Steve @ GamersNexus
Tracey and Joe are great but Bloomberg should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to Steve at GamersNexus, particularly after he was interviewed on this very show. I will come back to update this and follow the show again once you have him back on to defend himself. Until then, I will miss this and Money Stuff. 🙁

Field trips
Alaska field trip is all well and good but give us a Texas field trip (with live shows…)

Bloomberg Law with June Grasso
This review isn't about this podcast. It's about the Bloomberg Law podcast with June Grasso. Please tell someone to tell someone to tell the producers of that show to fix their audio issues. It's been a common complaint in reviews for years (?) so clearly they don't care/read them. I'm sorry this is an unfair one star rating for Odd Lots, but the audio really is that bad.

Tackles a wide range of topics
When you’ve got reviews complaining that the show is too far left next to reviews complaining that it’s too far right, you know you’ve found the sweet spot of exploring an array of topics. Great show.

Great Podcasts that really relates
The latest episode on Alaska furniture podcast really reminded me of why I love this podcast. The guests are always relevant! Some guests are really super fun as well, great stories told and great questions asked! Thank you for this series!

Why is his voice so slobbery?
The topics and conversations are good. The male host’s voice is so slobbery and guttural that it’s hard to listen to though. The pizza is episode made me gag listening.
