Ad frequency is too much.

I unfortunately have to dock two stars due to the excessive amount of ad breaks. There is one like every 5-10 minutes and it interrupts their conversation rather than being tastefully placed which gets pretty annoying. Also the fact that nearly every one is for an e-casino just makes me uncomfortable. Chumba casino has like a million different ads apparently and they all play here. The prospect of being able to gamble your real money away on your phone with the click of a button makes me feel uneasy about the ethics of that. If they had more sponsored ad reads or just toned down on the frequency of ad breaks to have a few longer tastefully placed ones that would be completely fine. And maybe consider not having mostly only gambling ads. Otherwise Wood and his co-hosts are lovely people and I would give it a 4-star rating otherwise.

I found this podcast from watching wulfden videos on YouTube. I got a switch during the pandemic. I got super excited when Bob and Wood decided to do a weekly podcast. So I’ve been listening since day one. I’m really proud of Wood for keeping the show going for all these episodes while keeping the show fun and entertaining. I just wanted to say this show is a highlight of my week. Thanks for all the hard work the team does and I am already excited for the next episode.

Why are there ads ever 10 mins?

The content is ok but every 6 minutes an ad interrupts mid word, not sentence or on a subject change just mid word with annoying local radio host screaming about a gas station. I know they are local nobodies because I hear them in my Nana’s car on a terrible local radio station. I get it you need ads that’s fine. Get the ads under control and place them in sensible places.

So I am torn with this review. I have followed Wood for years on YouTube and really enjoy his content. The podcast is also enjoyable…until the commercials. I understand that this is a business, and adds pay the bills, but the frequency and placement of the adds ruin the show. A good podcast allows the conversation to flow, and the adds interrupt and derail the discussion. It’s a shame and will keep me from listening.

Please take actual ad breaks or do integrated ads. Having random ads that are louder than the rest of the podcasts is so jarring. The host is cut off mid sentence and then I get blasted with the louder ad. While editing maybe a bing noise or something could be put as a warning that an ad is coming. And if the ads were at the same sound level as the rest of the podcast, that would be an improvement. I understand you have to make money, but please make it pleasant for the listeners.

First off don’t listen to the negative people wood love this podcast even when I don’t get the benefit of the visuals I still love this show. I have been watching Beatemups for the past 4 years and when I found out that he had been doing a podcast I was addicted immediately I love the dumb jokes and the great comments on the Nintendo products. Also why does apple say this is explicit content?!???

Podcast is great, but the ad breaks need to be fixed. They’re everywhere and in completely random places. If they were in the beginning or end or just a mid roll that would be nice, but they are completely random which breaks up the flow of the show constantly

If you want to just relax and catch up on Nintendo related chat, this is the place to be! Been listening for a bit and love listening to the podcast, keep up the good work!

Look, I’ve been a long time listener but I just can’t do it anymore. I’ve listened to every single episode but the last year has just been constant negativity and pandering for views/reactions. Over 50% of every episode is nonsensical jabbering about technical issues you guys should have figured out by now, and the rest of the show is Wood talking about himself or just being unnecessarily negative about whatever the topic at hand is. The other part is this is really a video first podcast at this point. You spend so much time talking about and doing physical goofs and gags and forget that not everyone is watching your stream or video. Pick one thing and stick to it instead of trying to do everything at once. Stop being so negative for no reason. It’s carried over to your super click bait thumbnails on YouTube now but negativity isn’t the right move even if you’re joking. I used to watch every Beatemups video even if I wasn’t interested in the content but I’m done listening and watching at this point.

It feals like home listening to the Nintendo podcast.

50% Wood talking about himself and 50% about gaming. I don’t mind some personal to stay connected, but I don’t need every detail. Gaming info and opinions are very good. Cheers.

Great podcast mr. Morning Wood

I love the podcast its the only nintendo oriented podcast I follow, noticed recently that instead of just having beginning and ending ads we now have ads come up in 10 minute intervals and it ruins the pace of listening to the show, I dont mind it when its in video form but when listening to the audio its so annoying, i understand that money needs to be made to keep the lights on, but for the audio version can it be like 3 ads tops, beginning middle and end. otherwise love the show and love what its turned into after bob left. Keep up the good work wood ❤️❤️❤️

Just a few things I’d like to say. There are WAY too many ads in this show. It takes anyone who’s one a good 15 min to get started before any real topic is discussed and the audio stinks. Levels are all over the place. I would give this one a pass.

If you want to listen to people Google one Black Friday deal for literally 45 minutes because they didn’t do any prep work this is the podcast for you!

Love listening when I’m bored to get caught up on the latest Nintendo news. Wood voice is great and it’s funny when the audio messes up. Keep doing what your doing I love it ❤️‍🔥

Found this podcast randomly and have no idea who these guys are but Wood’s voice is pretty mellow and British, so I’ll keep listening. Fun content too and some good music at the end.

This is a great show because it’s so free form and flowy. Also, Wood, please don’t feel down with people saying they miss Bob. You were the best part when he was there (I’m biased because I hated how he said Mario as “May-rio”). I feel the only thing that could be improved is that you discuss much less about the actual show and content creating and just focus much more just on discussing Nintendo. Basically do the show rather than talk about the show. Keep your head up! If you had left and Bob stayed then it would have totally sucked. That guy seriously is annoying, ha! Kidding! Maybe?

Other than all the random sexual innuendo. If that stops, I’ll give it 5

I watched beat em ups YouTube and this podcast is amazing it talks about manly Nintendo news and what happened, what will happen, rumors, and what should happen they also talk about Pokémon a few times and over all just a amazing podcast I definitely recommend listening it!

I look forward every week to the Podcast.. I’ll miss Bob but it’s good hands with Beatemups.

I’ve enjoyed this show for ages. And I loved wood as your cohost, and I love the idea of having different cohost every episode, but Austin John should be your permanent cohost.

I enjoy listening in to Wood and guests speak about topics and gaming in general. I’ll miss Bob, but I don’t think it’ll be too much to get him back on the show every once in a while, especially since he won’t have any responsibility for the writing and direction of the episodes. Looking forward to seeing a lot of new faces this year. Keep it up Wood!

The ads in the episodes are so random and the volume is so out of wack. It would be great if you threw to an ad segment so I know when you to expect them, especially because some episodes are sponsored. I want to listen to the podcast more but the ads are so intrusive and I don’t want to pay for a Patreon to get rid of them. That’s a video game scummy technique to make money.

Nontendo Podcast has become a staple of my week. When I heard it was ended I was devastated— yet here we are, in 2024 Wood and Scott the Woz! I can’t speak highly enough of Wood and this podcast. It’s one of the few podcasts I can relax to and feel as though I’m chilling out with the hosts Keep it up!!

I just finished my second listen of episode 84…I’m sitting here crying. I’m not ready to lose bob. I’ve listened to over 71 episodes in the last week because I’m not ready for this era to end. Wood and Bob are amazing and the Nontendo podcast is too young to die. I hope to see it reach 100 and keep growing. Maybe have a rotating hot seat going forward.

I really love the channel beatemups and bob wulff and they are the main reasons I like switch so much and it is super cool to be able to hear them talk about Mario and Zelda and all things gaming.

Great people! Sometimes gets a bit chaotic, but that’s just their charm. Bob and Wood are just funny and cool. Even though I don’t agree with Bob’s Zelda rankings…

An ad break is fine, but they spend nearly 5 min talking about it. And the podcast is only an hour long with half the time wood and Bob are asking how long they have. People in the background with no mics. Watch the Wulfden Podcast instead if you wanna support Bob. It’s longer and more entertaining
