Started to listen via a suggestion from another podcast and almost immediately bounced off. Not only is the story one I’ve heard covered, it is being told in the worst possible way: by ascribing behavior, emotions, and thoughts to a murder victim that are impossible for this podcaster or anyone else to know. I already know whodunnit, I don’t hear any signs of investigative journalism or original research, and someone is embellishing facts with speculation about the mind of a murder victim. That’s exactly the kind of exploitative, just for the money crime podcasting I don’t want in my feed.

Loved loved this podcast. Unfortunately, Mr. Ballen tipped his hand by having on this show, Tom Segura, known misogynist and host to alleged rapist and sex trafficker, Andrew Tate. Truly disappointed. Yes, you can choose to associate with whomever you’d like, but ‘birds of a feather, flock together’ and I will no longer listen nor recommend. Bummer.

I truly don’t know how this podcast has so many positive reviews. The ‘story telling’ is so dry and unengaging. It’s like an adult man is reading a high schooler’s essay. No flow, no nuance, just not good writing. AND then you’re gonna bring tom segura onto your poorly written show-No thanks. Noooo thanks.

This podcast is wonderful! My brother introduced me to it last year and since then I have listened to every single episode and I have started listening to the other podcasts by Ballen Studios as well! The stories are great, the schedule is consistent, and they are all strange, dark, and mysterious!

I’ve been listening to Ballen since like his 5th episode & love him, grateful for his service! My only ‘complaint’ is the lack of content since becoming HUGE. I get uploading 5x a week like before is a lot, but rarely is getting old. The compilations are all repeats & now theirs a single episode repeat, that he also told at a live show!? So you pay for tickets to hear repeats? Also, Seagull Lung is greatly missed 😞

You should make episodes similar to the ones on your YouTube channel that would be very entertaining

Love this podcast so much. Every night I’ll snuggle into bed and listen to either this or Medical Mysteries. It’s super fun to tell people that I go to sleep to retellings of true crime! 😅Mr Ballen has such a uniquely relaxing way of narrating the stories so that it’s not too gory and perfectly suspenseful. Highly recommend this to anyone that can listen!

Every episode has a great story. Mr. Ballen does such a good job at storytelling and I’ve been watching this podcast for years. Crime podcasts have been out there for a while, and there are lots of them, but this one tops them all by a landslide. Thanks, Mr. Ballen for giving me something to look forward to every Monday and Thursday.

I have been listening for a long time and I love this podcast. The only thing that is a little annoying is the Man in a mission episode locked to subscribers only. I understand why they did that as they have to make money but I think it’s free to listen to on Spotify but I might be wrong. Other than that this podcast is just perfect.

I like this podcast but fictionalizing facts about the victims is extremely disrespectful. I get you’re trying to engage an audience but making up things about those who have lost their lives is not okay. It’s gross to not only them but also their families and loved ones. Please stop doing that.

I absolutely love this podcast and sometimes I’ll just fall asleep while listening to it, then I go back and re-listen to it and I never get tired of it. And I love the story telling aspect of it, it makes it so intriguing.

Amazing podcast that dives deep into not just true crime but also supernatural stuff great description amazing stories and great host recommend for lovers of strange dark and mysterious!!

The stories are interesting and I like the fact that they are short. However, the story telling and story writing are absolutely horrible, and does not make me want to keep listening (still traumatized by the word “blimp” being repeated well over 100 times within 10 min in one of the recent stories). With better editing and narration, this could be a hit.

Great podcast about not so well known cases but his audio is such poor quality. It’s like he’s doing the podcast of his iPhone :/ sound could be a lot better considering he’s been around a while !
