Great topic, too much ego
Truly fascinating true crime, mysterious and incomprehensible. The host, however, needs to lean out. Tell the story without centering on himself (and Kurt Cobain! WTH!).

Too Long
It hard, I was interested in this story bc I lived in Scottsdale and worked at Mayo Clinic, but this could’ve been a lot shorter and to the point. Too many voiceovers and it made it sound choppy. Monotone, very repetitive and long ads.

Season 3!
Really glad this series is back. The first two seasons were so fascinating. It’s been way too long

Too long
Too long and has no real payoff.

Too long. Too many ads.
Each episode starts and ends with 3-4 minutes of ads. Then there are at least 3 breaks per episode with another 3-4 minutes of ads. It’s insane. Episodes are VERY repetitive. We don’t need constant recaps. This entire season could’ve been done in 1/3 of the episodes. So many episodes are worthless. We don’t need an entire episode on Ashley, or caves, or family annihilation. We don’t care where the host went to high school or where he grew up. There are a ton of pop culture references that are completely unnecessary. I was familiar with the story having lived in AZ for quite some time. I was hoping for in depth reporting and more details, but I really question the “facts” recited in this.

Interesting but too many ads
Info is well presented but fivee ads per break is abusive.

Why bash?
I’m all for transparency and exposing the lies and misinformation spread by law enforcement. But why attack other journalists and podcasters when you yourself admit you had years to spend breaking this down and it was extremely difficult and time consuming to do. You also admit finding the truth and proving fact was not easy, and the larger narrative is congested with this incorrect information that wasn’t corrected by police. So without that information, that you spent years tracking down, those other journalists and podcasters could only use the incorrect, congestive narrative corroborated by law enforcement, should they have waited for you and your high horse? Should we have forgotten about this case until such a time you exposed everything? Be real here. The information is good, the ego is not.

Great Podcast! Don’t listen to the haters
I read the reviews after I listened to the podcast and laughed at how sensitive some people are about the host being so confident. Like that’s a bad thing. I’m not sure what they expected. Like for him to interview this man that has successfully killed his family, absconded from the FBI and disappeared himself for decades but reveals himself purely for their entertainment??? Really? Is this your first podcast? He told the truth. He showed that there are many sides to a story….and a human. He did some great investigative reporting and brought to light quite a few things that have never been reported previously. I thought he did a great job and on top of the fabulous storytelling and reporting … he made excellent points about how the media can skew, mislead…..or “mistakenly” report false information…. that cannot only have everyone believing a false narrative…..but could ultimately effect the ability to bring someone to justice. Whatever that is. Like the fact that he only had a 2 hour head start opposed to 7-8 hours. Anyway….I liked it and I’m picky

No answers
This is an interesting podcast. The research was amazing! However, the host was very rude and pretty bold. He says something along the lines of this guy has been hiding all these years but he’s never had john after him. Well at the end of the podcast, it all turns to speculation and what could have potentially happened. No answers for someone so confident.

Good Listening
I enjoy Jon’s extensive research and style. Eagerly waiting for the next series!

Captivating Story!
I live in Scottsdale and have known of this case for a long time. I have always found it fascinating, I have even driven by the street where the house was. I was pleased to learn a podcast was coming out about it through a Facebook page I follow. Jon did a terrific job of researching the case, presenting it thoughtfully and bringing a understanding of the case deeper than I anyone ever has and trust me, I have listened to and read everything that exists about it. I don’t think Robert is alive but if he is he sure pulled off the disappearance of the century. I am a fan of Jon’s work and have listened to the other seasons of Missing In …, I encourage you to as well. Can’t wait for the next season. Keep up the great work Jon.

Fascinating
Jon Walczak does a great job of telling the story, showing sensitivity to those close to the tragedy, and persisting in following leads and interviews. Truly enjoyed all the missing podcasts. Waiting for more.

Good stuff
I loved the first two seasons more, but this is a compelling story, if only it were not so devoid of leads. Only so much one can do. I’m here for the crime junkies bashing for sure. A lot of hard work when in to this and it shows. Hope we don’t have to wait so long for the next season!

Great show
This podcast has me on the edge of my seat! It’s hard not to binge it. The host is very entertaining and tells the story in an engaging way. The research is super thorough and I really trust the missing team to tell the truth and share all sides of the story that they can find (and they really dig deep) without judgement!

Difficult to listen to
I found myself listening to this podcast and becoming increasingly irritated, due to the insufferable about of advertisements. I don't think I've heard as many ad runs in any other podcast. Because I was running, I wasn't able to skip past any. This made it seem as though as I was listening to an endless amount of commercials/ads. The few segments of the podcast, that weren't interrupted by ridiculously long ads, were mediocre at best. The host is clearly passionate, but the offer of personal reward money is negated by the endless ads. Also, the interviews were atrocious

Host is insufferable
Although I found the delivery and organization of this podcast frustrating, I was trying to power through. However, when the host found the need to bash by name other podcasts who are doing legitimate good things to try to close cold cases (looking at you “Season of Justice”) because they shared information that the host found (after his admitted YEARS OF RESEARCH) to be inaccurate, I lost all interest. The point that ‘not all news is accurate news’ would have sufficed without slapping the wrists of those in the industry with the same goals in mind. Your jealousy is showing. And since I already know this podcast doesn’t end with ‘he’s finally cracked the case,’ I guess I’m saving myself the lost hours of monotonous speculation that I have come to expect from this podcast.

Very interesting and well done. Would highly recommend.

Was OK, but…
There are a ridiculous amount of commercials. Almost 3-4 minutes at a time is crazy! Update: sometimes this show is just ridiculous. On the latest episode, they seem to just simply have NO idea why Tony (I think that was his name?) was so upset that they just showed up at his house and expected him to answer all of their questions. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also, Trump ads? Bye.

Episode 12 the dog by the car
A large part of episode 12 was centered on the dog by the car. The narrator made certain assessments based on the dog by the car, essence, saying Dog would not have stayed by the car. I have a great dog, and I’m very close to. We went hiking in North Lake Tahoe twice. I was with a friend who lived up there. And his dog. Two days in a row. While we were hiking. My dog ran off with the other dog, and a subsequently hike backed to the. Area where we parked both times. My dog was sitting by the back of the car. The dog sitting by the back of the car. Is saying if you’re going to leave, I know you’re gonna need to take the car, so I’ll wait here for you. I have a witness, my friend, who is walking with me. He spent the entire episode on this issue, and it seems to be built on faulty assumptions and if that part of the story is based on faulty assumptions, what else is?

Trump advertising!!!!
I was enjoying this podcast but immediately stopped as soon as I heard an advertisement from Trump hawking his gold sneakers and watches. I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO ANYTHING iHeart / Jon Walczak puts out again!!

Interesting and detailed
So far, the story is very detailed and interesting. I don’t care for the AI voice. Makes you sound like a robot and It’s very hard to concentrate on what is being said.

Missing episodes?
I’ve been waiting for all episodes to drop so I could binge. But it only looks like the last episode is available? Anyone know why?

Hope we find out what happened to Robert Fisher
Jon and his team bring new info to a very cold case. Good investigative journalism and perhaps this new info will be pursued by police so Fisher can be brought to Justice. Or some listener will recognize the voice of Fisher and turn him in. I’ve enjoyed this team’s podcasts, especially Missing in Alaska.

Lie detectors are junk science and you obviously don't get how people think
You've watched WAY TOO MANY cop shows. Yikes.

Not a magat
I actually was enjoying this story. Even went back and listened to a few episodes. Then you started advertising for a convicted rapist (among other things) and you lost me. Will not finish this series and will not listen to anything from you again!!!! Choices have consequences!

EP 16
This particular episode (the interview specifically) feels a little like hysteria and fishing for results. To randomly do a cold call/sudden knock interview on someone about things from decades ago….even lying (“bluffing” as they call it) to get info out of a random man is crazy! Then to press him FIVE times about his employment records after he said no is just bad investigative ethics (if people even believe in that?). After he told you once-even twice- that he would not do it then why continue to bother him? What did you think? He was just going to tell you-a random PI- that you could have them if you asked enough? The employment records are weird to you? What are you even talking about? Even without the context of what you’re talking to him about, of course any private citizen would not want employment records out there. Now, given the context…..what would you really expect? These are all normal things any human would do so I guess I don’t get it. Similar to you saying “oh man he was so shaken he looked like he was going to cry” he literally opened the door to you and a production partner recording his every word; who wouldn’t be shaken? He also addressed that the period of time was emotional and even anxiety riddling/stressful due to things that had nearly nothing to do with your suspect. Again, do you REALLY think those things are suspicious? Or is the guy just a normal human that was decent enough to even talk to you at all? I mean walk up to my door randomly asking question that clearly lean towards accusations and how am I supposed to react? I like the show but that was the weirdest interaction thus far that solved what?

Ok
Liked this podcast at first but it’s starting to drag on. Also, disappointed that they accepted funding from Trump Sneakers.

Confirmation bias on display
Just listened to the episode in which they interview the church going neighbor. I am surprised at how biased the hosts are. I hope they bring more investigative journalism standards to bear going forward.

Loving this
I have always been fascinated by this case ever since watching the documentary. Podcaster gives great interviews and details. Good investigative work. Great podcast!

I knew Robert Fisher
My dad Shawn is interviewed in episode 14, it’s a good show, a little drawn out but I lived in Scottsdale in 2001 and my dad and Robert were hunting/fishing and church buddies. I’d met Robert once or Twice through Ken. I knew Ken well, good dude. This is a sad story, the podcast does a good job of going through all the little details… definitely a crazy mystery.

Manages to pack like 3 hours of content into 15 episodes so far. And still going!
Late for work.
Good Podcasts but Can’t Stand the Trump Ads
I have listened to all three Missing Podcasts and this one is a little slow, but an interesting case and the reporting is excellent. That said, I’m going to take a break for a while because in the last episode they played several ads for Trump watches and I just can’t listen to Trumps voice. I put on non-political podcasts to get away from him!

Not worth the time
The “ambient sound” episode was just such an a***ole move I had to quit the podcast. It wasn’t clever; it was aggravatingly stupid. Up to this point, I was curious about the story and willing to put up with the janky, jerky journalism. It’s a good story, told poorly, and engineered badly.
mmrbrb
Too many episodes without substance
Not sure why the host keeps dragging this story on. 15 episodes already that could have been condensed to 6, and who knows how many more episodes there are. Most of the content is speculative instead of actual “true crime.” Probably wouldn’t recommend this.
Db714xx
The content is entertaining!
I’ve enjoyed listening to the podcast for its content but the host has to constantly toot his own horn. Every single episode he’s gotta explain how he’s connected or his mom or a friend. Or that he suffers from this or that. It’s like a part time therapy session and really off putting.
Miglionico
Out of control with ads
Ashley Flowers bashing? Sound so jealous.
rcpod
It’s just bad
There are some really great podcasts out there with great storytellers and amazing investigative journalists. This is not one of them. The host interjects often about himself and his opening remarks to Robert Fisher were just stupid and self aggrandizing. The ad to content ratio was also excessive. Poorly done true crime podcasts are a dime a dozen, this is one of those that you can just skip.
