Sam has eliminated the option for comment on the paid podcast. He regularly talks about jihadism while never addressing Zionism His diehard support for Israel while running a meditation app is hypocritical. He is a phony. The Buddha would not approve

Great Podcast
My favorite podcast for many years! I really enjoy the deep conversation with his guest. I also like to hear his thoughts on current events. Thank you for all that you do and keep it up Sam.

A big blind spot
In many domains Sam Harris is an interesting thinker. Unfortunately he is oblivious to his considerable bias when it comes to Israel and the Middle East. For a man who rails against identity politics this is a significant blind spot.

What happened?
I’m not sure how but Mr. Harris has turned into the embodiment of the toxic rot that’s infected today’s Democratic Party.

Awful
This podcast is about hating Trump, hating Trump more, really hating Trump a whole lot, Absolutely despising Trump, and not believing in God. Don't waste your time.

The Consequences of Abundant Intelligence February 22nd, 2026 June 30th, 2028 The unemployment rate printed 10.2% this morning, a 0.3% upside surprise. The market sold off 2% on the number, bringing the cumulative drawdown in the S&P to 38% from its October 2026 highs. Traders have grown numb. Six months ago, a print like this would have triggered a circuit breaker. Two years. That’s all it took to get from “contained” and “sector-specific” to an economy that no longer resembles the one any of us grew up in. This quarter’s macro memo is our attempt to reconstruct the sequence - a post-mortem on the pre-crisis economy. The euphoria was palpable. By October 2026, the S&P 500 flirted with 8000, the Nasdaq broke above 30k. The initial wave of layoffs due to human obsolescence began in early 2026, and they did exactly what layoffs are supposed to. Margins expanded, earnings beat, stocks rallied. Record-setting corporate profits were funneled right back into AI compute. The headline numbers were still great. Nominal GDP repeatedly printed mid-to-high single-digit annualized growth. Productivity was booming. Real output per hour rose at rates not seen since the 1950s, driven by AI agents that don’t sleep, take sick days or require health insurance. The owners of compute saw their wealth explode as labor costs vanished. Meanwhile, real wage growth collapsed. Despite the administration’s repeated boasts of record productivity, white-collar workers lost jobs to machines and were forced into lower-paying roles. When cracks began appearing in the consumer economy, economic pundits popularized the phrase “Ghost GDP“: output that shows up in the national accounts but never circulates through the real economy. In every way AI was exceeding expectations, and the market was AI. The only problem…the economy was not. It should have been clear all along that a single GPU cluster in North Dakota generating the output previously attributed to 10,000 white-collar workers in midtown Manhattan is more economic pandemic than economic panacea. The velocity of money flatlined. The human-centric consumer economy, 70% of GDP at the time, withered. We probably could have figured this out sooner if we just asked how much money machines spend on discretionary goods. (Hint: it’s zero.)

Happy to report that after years of meditation, I have not turned into a morally lopsided, culturally blind, anti-woke sycophant with Islamophobic tendencies and no connection whatsoever to everyday humans. I can’t believe the same DNA behind the Golden Girls created this wet mop.

I skip all of those episodes which is annoying bc it would be nice to hear what Sam thinks. I was a listener since pre-pandemic and will likely not subscribe next year for the first time in a long while. There is too much other content to listen to someone who always annoys me

I don’t buy into either side of the 2-dimensional political paradigm, but this show clearly does. Fuel for the lefts—typically narrow minded and focused on blaming the other side. Only in the 3rd dimension will any of us see the Truth. If you’re looking for that here, you won’t find it.

A complaint
Sam, so do you believe in opposition? Reason I asks is you never have an opposing viewed guest , it's just people licking you in the right spot .

Been listening to Sam for years. Used to pay for subscriptions. One of the greatest fallouts of our time. Sam’s best years are long behind him

Common sense
Oof, conservatives are now flooding the reviews with angry responses because Sam dared to criticize their Dear Leader Trump. As always, Sam criticizes both sides and they lose their minds when he does. Keep up the good work!

No depth or nuance
SH often presents arguments with confidence and polish, but the ideas themselves feel thin, flattening complex moral, political, and cultural questions into overly tidy conclusions. The certainty is compelling, yet the analysis frequently sidesteps nuance, context, and lived realities that complicate his claims. What once sounded bold now feels re

Woke means more aware, more wise
i don’t think it’s good to co-sign on changing woke to mean something other than what it originally meant. And it’s never been good to adopt ideas that you think are more wise but actually aren’t.

You know you’re powerful when you start getting called “TDS”
I was initially a bit put off by Sam as many seem to be but that usually means it’s an issue that I’m having versus the person so I kept listening and I’m glad I did. I find him to be a liberated mind that I don’t always agree with, but I deeply enjoy and learn from. It is hilarious to me to see all of the cultists for Trump trying to attack him and reviews. He doesn’t even likely read those who listen to the pod, all it does is validate that he is exactly right about who and what Trump is and who and what his followers are. Appreciate you Sam, will keep listening into the new year. Thanks.

Pokes around the edges of nuanced thinking while sitting comfortably within the accepted narrative
2024 edit* Sam has fallen into total and complete TDS. He’s capable of identifying the society breaking excesses of the left, but cannot get over his “orange man bad” hang ups. His rationales for his anger towards Trump seem to be the fact that trump refused to mindlessly yield to elites like himself. (Original review): Sam is a leftist who sits atop the accepted narratives of our time while he pats himself on the back for challenging little bite sized pieces of the propaganda ecosystem we live in. When Sam does have the courage to say something outside of the accepted narrative, he goes way over the top to qualify his point “Of course America has racist systems, but…” Sam likes to flirt with the truth and dance around it, and then retreat back to the comfort of his status quo mode of thinking. That said, there are occasions when Sam doesn’t completely tow the narrative line, and in our present moment…there’s something to be said for even small amounts of courage.

Sam Harris is a Walking Moral Atrocity
The banal and mediocre face of pure evil.
ObjectivismIsNotPhilosopy
Sam puts America (and Israel) first
Sam’s ability to champion American and Israeli supremacy has never been more important. Those who are not yet ready to accept that liberalism has failed the global proletariat take great comfort in hearing Sam assuage our chauvinistic impulses with his silky smooth voice. Just wait until America gets a Democrat president again, they will magically fix everything and return to conducting imperialist agendas with the politeness and decorum befitting The Greatest Nation On Earth 🇺🇸🇮🇱(TM)

Sam‘s soft turn towards conservatism has been bad but the sudden embrace of Christian nationalism is embarrassing. An attempt to stay relevant as he loses any sort of credibility.

I enjoy all the topics you cover and how you and your guests simplify complex issues into a digestible and interesting way. Thanks for all your efforts.

Unparalleled explanatory power!
I listen to a fair share of podcasts. Mostly STEM in nature, politics when I can avoid vomiting or screaming in terror, some history. Not one single provider has the ability you have to absorb and synthesize information, organize complex and convoluted ideas, not get lost in red herrings or misinformation, and output articulate, hyper-cogent, and thoughtful questions or pronouncements. You’re a national treasure, who’s greatest gift is that in a world where it’s exceedingly dangerous to abdicate one’s thinking, I trust your thoughts, opinions, and ethical framework in cases I don’t have the time or knowledge to form my own. Thank you, Sam.

Move on
Harris hasn’t been relevant since “The End Of Faith.” He has been coasting on his reputation as a cut-rate Christopher Hitchens ever since, and his death spiral into right-wing apologism has been deeply embarrassing.
RustleDavis
Insane “moral confusion” from Harris
If there are “western” exceptions to all values and morals, they’re not real. Sam Harris has always lived in a carefully constructed perception bubble and his only relevance is as a case study in hypocrisy

Show has become a complete doomscape.
The other day I stopped by CVS on the way home to pick up some toothpaste and a pack of Dr. Schols corn removers for my pinky toe. At the checkout counter, I picked up a 12 pack of smart guys with no answers. Discussing what went wrong with this country is just too raw. Pointing out how we got here is meaningless. Exploring real ideas on how to fix things is what is completely missing from academia. Between Ezra Klein and Sam Harris, I have to search for reasons to get dressed. Do something productive.

Stupid concept of not having full episodes
Only offering half an episode and then telling people to go subscribe on his website is utter stupidity. I am not signing up for something else, I’m here to listen to a podcast. These marketing techniques are getting ridiculous.

Sam is losing a lifelong fan
I’ve been following Sam from his very first book and then a fan of this podcast since it started. But lately he’s got himself in an echo chamber of his own where he won’t actually talk to anyone he disagrees with on the left, wokeness has become some sort of bogeyman that he throws out with very little proof. And a top it off his views on Gaza are getting annoying. He’s just shallow minded about the topic and really can’t draw a red line in the sand. Sam, if you were your staff actually read these things I suggest you step back and actually talk to some of your critics from the left. I really would like you to have an honest conversation with them instead of continuing me hiding. It’s starting to feel like you’re going down the rabbit hole that Ruben and Candace Owen did

Just why…
The last invention episode is probably one of the most critical topics we have but you want to dangle the carrot for subscribers to pay up first. If it’s something not known well hey here’s an idea make this one episode free ??? You’re one of them aren’t you Sam??
Task keeper
Does not make sense
Sam acts like someone cannot think that both hamas is a terrorist organization and that Israel is committing gennoacide.

Objective Morality
If we agree Reducing Suffering is a pathway to objective morality, I don’t see how Sam can defend genocide.

“A Crisis of Trust” and you wonder why…
Sam, I’ve been listening to you since I was 13. Today I unsubscribed. You cannot lament the loss of faith in our institutions and cast shade on Joe for not pushing back hard enough on his guests while allowing your guest to say “who cares?” on natural / lab origin. Tell that to the people who died or lost loved ones. “The Big One” could indeed be of natural origin or cooked up in a lab. How we mitigate that risk should be informed by what has actually happened. If we ever want a shot at repairing institutional trust, this is where you start. Please course correct, you were one of the greats.

Always fascinating
Harris is a very bright guy, and I find that his interests are usually interesting to me. I also agree with him on nearly all issues, including the one he gets criticized the most about: He feels the left--which he largely agrees with-- does not appreciate the existential danger Islamic extremism represents, arguing that while most Muslims are not taking up arms against the West, majorities of them hold very illiberal ideas (re a woman's place, etc.) Because of this, the left should be at the forefront of a movement to encourage a Muslim "reformation", and not be making excuses for cultural attitudes that should have no place in the modern world. Probably close behind that, in terms of criticism one hears of Harris, is his rejection of organized religion, which he believes is mostly corrosive for society. These are bold positions (although they shoudn't be), and I appreciate that he argues them so well. I also appreciate that he is comfortable with the gray between the black and white positions lazy-minded people are drawn to, and welcome his willingness to give time to people with widely divergent opinions on a variety of issues. Addendum 9/25: getting a little slow and dull lately. Can we survive AI? Is kind of a snore fest.

No
Sam does not validly address the current situation. He uses old talking points and does not address the real motivations of the leadership. “Amalek” “real estate bonanza”? Never Again to genocide.

Can we survive AI ?
Probably the worst of Sam’s podcasts that I’ve listened to. This sounds like guests who spend too much time reading The Lord of the Rings, caught up in their own fantasy worlds.

Hit the wall
Sam makes great points on many things but seems there is a wedge/bias/wall when it comes to what’s happening (and why) in Palestine. It’s fascinating how a smart guy can walk around the facts but not name them. I was finding it difficult to take his podcasts seriously. So many talking heads just like this. Unsubscribed

Why So Expensive?
Dear Sam, The two star markdown is due to your elimination of a scholarship option below $59/year. $60 a year is simply not affordable for some. In essence what you are doing is creating a platform for people with greater discretionary income. How much do you really need to make this a meaningful project?

Makes no sense
The title of the podcast is “making sense” yet there’s no way to listen to it for free. Every other podcast that I listen to offers ad supported programming which I’d be happy to listen to.

The Illiberal “Liberal”
Sam Harris is the very thing he despises. He is a fascist in the literal sense. He is against free speech and praised Twitter for banning Alex Jones and Trump. He said the conspiracy to cover up the Hunter Biden laptop story was warranted in order to affect the election in Biden’s favor. You cannot have democracy unless you have a well informed voter. Harris is vehemently against liberalism and democracy. He will stop at nothing to skew reality and manipulate his listeners into believing his deranged world view.

Now unlistenable
An update. 10 years ago, one of my 5 favorites … often brilliant, then something happened to Sam. I’d mostly given up but saw an episode on college campuses. Ok, looks interesting. Listened to 25 minutes of Trump is bad, pure evil, dumb … sorry, I was dozing off. I gave up. No fan of Trump but there are 400 pods which say the exact thing. It’s tedious and I give up. ******* Great insight and balance is now just anti-Trump rants. It’s so tedious and well, adolescent. Recent show on Trump (what else) talked about setting up a crypto reserve. Two other podcasts talked about the pros and cons of it in great detail and there are pros and cons. All Sam and his guest could talk about was how it’s a way for Trump to enrich his friends. Maybe that could happen, but this is the level of a 13 year old. At the end of that podcast, Sam talked about meditation. I think it was a commercial. Funnily, I started thinking that maybe meditation comforts the mind by simplifying everything to pure good or bad; black or white. Sam may need to back away from the cult for a while.
