The San Francisco Giants outlasted the Washington Nationals today, 7-6, in a back-and-forth game that took 12 innings for a victor to emerge. A sketchy 9th inning by Ryan Walker allowed the Nationals to tie the game and send it to extra innings, the first time the San Francisco Giants have played extras in 2026. Matt Chapman finally came through with a single in the 12th inning to score Luis Arraez and put the Giants on top. Heliot Ramos delivered at the dish again, as he collected three hits and was a triple shy of the cycle in this one. The big question from today’s win: Should Ryan Walker still be this team’s closer?
