This pod appeared after indulging in content about Ryan Coogler as he and the cast promote Sinners. This is just what I needed while I’m in between writing. Listening to other writers explain, encourage, and share their thoughts on the craft is priceless. Each guest seems truly genuine and passionate about writing. As I go through this quiet season of soaking game, this podcast is helping me get through some challenging times of wanting to write but having to develop the discipline to letting the stories breathe.

A really, really brilliant podcast. I can tell the team designed it to be inspirational for black creators looking to make an impact and change the culture of entertainment. It highlights many behind the scene talents I didn’t know about from music producers, to agency owners, filmmakers, and label heads. Thankful that the team put so much intentionality and energy into this product.

This Podcast is number 1 for thought provoking conversations! No matter if you’re a creative or not, there’s always a few nuggets of life that you didn’t know you needed that you can take with you after listening! I’m in love with this podcast. I love the family aspect and the gentle but impactful gems of each episode. As a young black filmmaker/DP it brings me joy hearing some of the stories from Coogler and MBJ in the beginning of their friendship/partnership to Tessa and Kalia’s journey around the industry. As a independent producer/writer/director and actor, I’m constantly looking for books, courses and podcasts related to the craft and as a young African American man trying to navigate show business, the first episode with Ryan and Micheal B help me feel like what I’m going through as an artist is part of the journey and put the battery in my back that I needed to continue to chase my dreams and tell the stories I want to tell.
