All of the topics are interesting. I just listened to the Union Labor guy- just telling like it is. I may not always agree but I love a sane perspective. The guiding philosophy of this pod and publication is support for Israel, calling out anti-Semitism and resentment of liberal media elites (Bari’s old bosses). It’s not a philosophy as much as a grievance narrative and it creates a lot of bad allegiances, namely the frequent normalizing of Trumpism and MAGA

Another professional opinion haver just repeating what they think about what they want to talk about regardless the topic of conversation. The guest are interesting and prepared, the interviewer not so much.

Bari’s opening gave one the hope of a savior from the MAGA kidnapping my Republican Party. Instead Rahm aspirated all the oxygen by talking over Bari Weiss and expelling canned retorts and not allowing legitimate concerns of the bitter class.

I love Bari’s interviews and was totally frustrated by Raum’s arrogance and continual interrupting and pontificating. Not allowing her to even finish a question. She gave him an amazing glorifying introduction and he treated her like a dirty dish rag through the whole interview. I recommend all female Democratic voters to listen to this interview and decide whether you would really want this guy to be the next president of the United States. Bari you are amazing and showed unbelievable tolerance.

It was not up to the usual standards of honestly speaking it was superficial they were especially the guy was superficial and he also was a little on the ideological side. It’s an important topic and is someone who’s who deals with with the progressive moderate youth versus you know Yung well we used to call smoke Intricate frequently in Oakland and over the course of helping with two different recalls and actually running for political office myself I’d say it’s it’s an important question. Bari Weiss is not afraid to ask the tough questions. She’s willing to recognize the inconsistencies even within her own tribe and perspectives. She invites guests with differing perspectives and gets them to address the points being made by the others. It is refreshing, helpful, and often fun!

Conversation are often good, but often just whatever. However, the episode with Helen Lewis is the WORST EVER! She sounds like the opposite of whatever a genius would be.

Dropped out after every post-Oct 7 episode was gullible acceptance of all Israeli reports of atrocities but harsh attacks on anything from the other side. She may be right, but I couldn’t trust the reporting. Was curious, so listened in on the latest one on Israel Iran war by two experts. Outstanding. Balanced, detailed and more than a little depressing. Their view of what happens if the religious leadership is wiped out was particularly good. So, I was back. My player then went to the episode with Michael someone. A smug cheerleader for Israel who filled his time with cheap shots for anyone who disagreed with his position. Minor point, but he might want to take some speaking lessons and, at least stop giggling when talking about his teams war successes. I’ll try one more episode, but am guessing I’ll have to drop out for another 6 months.

I used to enjoy honestly for its right of center and sometimes left of center approach to world events and I really enjoyed the coverage during the 2024 election. However it has now just become the Israel-can-do-no-wrong podcast and 80% of the episodes are just about how awesome Israel is. Unsubscribing.

I'm basically a fan, but Bari's interviews are getting gentler and gentler. Why waste an interview on Huckabee or Dolan if they are 100% in line with Trump? They don't have anything new to offer.

Bari’s reporting reputation takes a hit in this one, as she allows Huckabee to avoid serious questioning about the US stance on Israel. She has allowed her reasonable distaste for progressive censorship to veer into fawning softballs for right wing Christian nationalists.

I am approaching 80 years old, conservative, finance background, father to three, grandfather to eight, midwesterner…not exactly the demographic for a Jewish, female with a wife(lesbian is too crass a word) former NY Times writer. Bari Weiss is the most insightful interviewer period. I listen to ten podcasts, five regularly, but never miss “Honestly.” I recommend this podcast more often than any other because of the depth of each session. EG I forwarded the interview with Mike Huckabee (who I heretofore considered a lightweight…boy, was I wrong) to six different people including my 20 year old 4.0 grandson who should begin law school next year saying “this interview alone will give you an advanced degree in Middle East issues.”

Outstanding interview with Ambassador Huckabee! America and Israel are lucky to have him in this role. He’s one of the Trump picks that’s actually highly qualified for the job!

Bari’s interview with Jake Tapper is just odious. I was waiting for Bari to actually get to the heart of this controversy but she only elided over it and never called Tapper out for the hypocrite he is. Tapper wants us all to believe that he is doing a great public service by exposing this great coverup of Biden’s mental incompetence. The truth is that Tapper and legions of his fellow ‘journalists’ were the ones at the heart of propagating this coverup. He and others excoriated anyone who knew and wanted to tell the truth about Biden. They were never interested in seeking the truth and were complicit in hiding Biden’s incompetence, much to the detriment of our body politic. See Glenn Greenwald’s interview with Tucker Carlson on YouTube discussing this in great depth. Tapper is an unrepentant liar seeking some sort of redemption by ‘exposing’ a contemptible story that he was one of the main authors and promoters of.

Bari Weiss is about as ‘fair and balanced’ as Fox News. She is full on MAGA without wearing the hat. I had high hopes for her so called Free Press. Free? Only if you agree with the MAGA right. If it were really a free press she’d interview people who she disagrees with the same as she interviews those she fawns over. Not that she disagreed with Jake Tapper but her interview with him about his book on Biden got Tapper to cave to her point of view rather than stand up for the context. I’ve recently discovered this podcast and enjoyed several of the episodes. But then the “global intifada” episode dropped and i’m gone. Zionism is as bad, if not worse, than South African apartheid. Talk about being on the wrong side of history.

What a couple of delusional liars these so called journalists are. They claim to not have any sources to back up what everyone else plainly saw - and not just a one off but every time Biden was in public.
