I like that they cover lesser known cases but they do tend to repeat themselves and to state the obvious with a lot of the stories. I wish they would skip a lot of the repetition and clarifications so the storytelling is more cohesive

Besides dropping the F bomb every other sentence, you both need to get your back straight! The murder of Somminette. I just watched the 2020 episode of this podcast and yours is way, way off! Quite a few of those things that you stated was not true according to the program. I think you embellish a lot of so-called facts. Because you had it out for him. Yes, he was wrong. Yes, she is a murderer. But I think a few of the things that you stated is unreal. And seriously, quit dropping the bomb so much. It’s disgusting. And very cheap on your part

Normally this show is fun and entertaining but the last episode was not the case. Very biased story telling and undo critiques of law enforcement and no grasp of the realities of death or crime scenes. I’m done with this show and no longer entertained.

I like their straightforward reporting and the cute ad libs here and there. These guys are good!

If your looking for a drinking game, you’ve found it, take a shot anytime Daphne says “totally” or “HOWEver”…heath is obviously a puppet in this show, he literally adds nothing to conversation besides repeating what she says immediately after she says it…also take a shot everytime heath or Daphne says “I mean” before they say something…it’s alllll I hear now

These 2 are abhorrent. I immediately get annoyed when their podcast auto plays. I’ve initially subscribed because the cases they present are often lesser known which was refreshing but I immediately had to contend with game show host personalities telling me about the last moments of someone’s life. It’s off putting. They’re also always pushing some new random venture the female host is pursuing (candles, coffee,popcorn, books, you name it). They talk way to much about themselves, which I understand sharing parts of you life with your listeners, that’s the beauty in the host/listener relationship, but yikes—no one needs to know about whatever you’re doing in your hot tub. I don’t feel closer to you all, I feel the ick. Lastly, the guy is so beta is slightly hilarious—constantly co-signing the female host, repeating everything she says, puffing his chest out at criminals that he’ll never encounter, and pushing the females ventures like it’s the 2nd coming. The TLDR: these two are gross.

I used to really enjoy this podcast. I like the chemistry between the hosts. I like how there isn’t one main host and a sidekick. But the ads, the ads have gotten out of control over the years. The ad choices themselves are terrible and the amount of ads per episode is wild. The most recent episode I listened to had so many ads, it felt like I was listening to more ads than actual true crime content. I get that you need ads to pay for the show but none of the other podcasts I listen to have as many ad breaks or as many ads per break as this show does.

Daphne does a decent job telling a story, but she uses the same phrases again and again. “Totally” and “HowEVER” and once you notice it’s hard to let it go. Heath is constantly yelling and it’s obnoxious. Unfortunately he mostly states the obvious or just repeats what Daphne says. I often find myself rolling my eyes or sighing when he opens his mouth. It’s getting harder to listen.

I’ve been a binger of true crime content for longer than I can remember and was surprised I’d never stumbled across Going West til recently. I loved Daphne and Heath’s dynamic from the first listen, and now they’re part of my weekly true crime routine. From the start, Daphne’s storytelling gave me Heather Ashley vibes in all the right ways. I just preordered her book as well, and I can’t wait to dive in on my upcoming summer beach vacation. If you love direct, fact-based true crime storytelling with personality and a little sass, you’ll love Daphne and Heath as much as I’ve come to!

I’ve listened for well over 2 years. I’m with the others when I say the ad choices are absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, I don’t plan on listening anymore. Good luck to you guys!

Years ago I got a random follower on Instagram and it was Going West. The trick worked because I followed back and started listening and was hooked! I can always depend on Daphne and Heath while I’m doing the dishes, driving in my car, or cleaning the house. Thanks for the years of great true crime coverage. 🫶

Add + on I just started the case of Norma Lopez’ murder & that intro is ⛽️ it’s giving Wild Horses(TRS.) idk how often y’all switch it up but for what it’s worth, it instantly caught my ear & that’s never happened ^ title pun intended ^ but in all seriousness, H & D have mastered the art of podcasting. Always victim focused, no political agenda, all facts w/out ANY underhanded rhetoric, light-hearted in spite of, & can laugh @ themselves when one or the other totally butchers a word. Oh & calls a p.o.s a p.o.s w/out apology. 🙌🏼 follow & listen, ya won’t regret it ever!

Leave out the “pronouns” and other things that identify you as a Lib. Your language ruins the story. This lady thinks she is always correct and it is obvious that she just likes to correct even when she is not correct. Research a city vs a town. Also annoying that they inject the word like repeatedly.

There’s a way too flippant sounding intro that I can rarely get past, regardless of how interesting or important the story is. It truly feels like bad radio hosts with the overly enthusiastic greeting that doesn’t match the nature of the pod at all. I’ve tried but it puts such a bad taste in my mouth, I’m giving up and unsubscribing.

Very well researched and love the length, also cases that aren’t always well known so you don’t hear the same cases across several podcasts. My only suggestion would be to have a subscriber tier that removes Ads, I’d be willing to pay extra!

I truly love listening to this podcast, it is one of my favorites. I think your banter between each other is really cute. It’s clear you love each other. However, there are some cases where you guys are laughing and making jokes, and it really just feels disrespectful given the severity of the subject nature. Keeping it lighthearted is one thing, but it’s also really important to remain respectful. I can’t imagine being one of the family members of the victims, listening to you guys joke about the crime. I listen to every episode. I appreciate that its light cuz sometimes true crime is overwhelming and i need this lighter type of show to break it up. With that being said…why do you repeat each other? Is there a word goal u have to hit? And Daph…please…google how to properly pronounce names of places and any word that u arent familiar with…cuz WOW lol. I am happy to hear that you guys stopped obnoxiously apologizing for every detail or opinion 1000x AND multiple times per episode…That made me want to pull my hair out. Stand on business!! Its more authentic. Will continue to tune every week :)))

They are so well spoken and unlike other True crime Podcasts I don’t listen because they are fluent. I always listen to this on walks and such. I Love Keith and Dalphne sm and I hope they never die or quit

I’ve been addicted to these guys for years while my interest in other true crime podcasts waxes and wanes. They have great chemistry and have personality without making themselves the story. Keep it up and thank you!

I enjoy a true crime podcast, especially the unsolved cases. Daphne & Heath retell the stories with concern for victims and their families, and make no excuses for the perpetrators. Even though I’ve only been listening for about 4 months, Going West has become one of my top 5.

I listen to quite a few true crime podcasts, and you two are definitely one of my favorites. The cases discussed are well researched and delivered with a great deal of compassion and empathy towards the victims. And you play off each other very well. Keep up the good work!

The hosts compliment each other and are absolutely GREAT as they describe each case. They have a way of bringing the story to you that is compelling enough to make you want more. A top podcast for sure and one I look forward to.

I have listened for years now and was surprised I didn’t already review it. I love Heath and Daphne! I love how they always seem so chill and personable, like you could just sit and talk to them for hours about the cases. I like their banter but also like how they stick mostly to the case because some shows go way into side talk too much. Definitely can’t wait to continue listening. And I preordered Daphne’s book and can’t wait to read it!

Ya look like a dang fool on the new cover, though it’s fun to make sound effects to match that deer-in-the-headlights expression. And are you seriously running ads for vaccines? update: I just went back to the very beginning to listen to some subscription episodes i skipped, and i’m literally laughing at how you guys tried to talk so mysteriously at the beginning hahaha love you guys. I’ve been listening since day 1 and i’m weirdly so proud of you guys for the new Unwell network acquisition! crushing it! that’s huge. you guys deserve it.

This use to be my FAVORITE podcast back when you guys told unfamiliar cases, spoke in calming voices and respected the victims. The old cover was so much better as well. You are now telling well known cases (i.e., the Unabomber, Jodi, etc). Also, the victim blaming at the end of the Cody Johnson case was disgusting. The older episodes were so much better.

What is going on with your writing? The unnecessary melodrama in your more recent story telling is very yuck, especially when you’re a true crime podcast, you seem to be leaning towards dramatizing and steering away from your original storytelling style which felt more respectful to victims. Y’all are just giving me the ick. And it’s not even creative, mentioning the victims “well known blonde bob” more than once, and describing the dropping hair products and belongings as a “a glamorous but disorderly mess” its just so bad. Just tell the story, these are real victims, it’s not an episode of desperate housewives

I’ve been a fan for a long time. They seem like they really care about these cases & the victims. The episodes are the perfect length, not too long like some other podcasts

I can’t enjoy this show as the ads are for obvious grifters. On true crime podcast that’s just not ok.

I love listening to Going West and never miss an episode. Heath and Daphne are funny and witty and have great back and forth without getting too far off track from the story. You guys are awesome!

Cases are good and after reading some of these other reviews I realized I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the yelling. I have to be in a good mood to get through an episode, otherwise I get overstimulated with the yelling.

The music is extremely unnecessary and lengthy. I understand a short 10 second intro but the music is insanely awful and long throught the episodes

I will listen to the free version with ads, but it’s a rip off to pay $10 a month and not have the bonus episodes. Don’t pay for the real crime podcast.
