More trash, less memoir
I still enjoy the podcast from time to time but I feel like it has slowly pivoted into being about reality TV. I know other topics are covered too but I really miss when the focus was on women-centric celebrity memoirs.

Great podcast
Not only is the subject matter interesting, Chelsea, her guests and producers do a great job of challenging one another and injecting different viewpoints. I also really admire Chelsea for not shying away from feedback and keeping the podcast within an appropriate topical scope to allow everyone to enjoy it - yes, it’s feminist but doesn’t make the reductive assumption that all feminists align on everything else.

My favorite
This is hands down my favorite podcast. Everyday I check to see if Chelsea has dropped a new podcast. Chelsea is funny and open to talk about anything. She is a caring soul, knows lots of people, and has a million friends. There is something about her voice I adore, and when she took a break to work on her movie, the podcast was not the same. This is just a fun podcast, I thoroughly enjoy it. Her Needy Quarantine dog looks just like mine. We are clearly kindred souls.

Love the Podcast!
Love the Podcast! I’d like to share on a topic in the episode: Ron Funches announced that he received an Autism diagnosis following his time in The Traitors. His adult son has an ASD diagnosis, so he’s been well aware of ASD for a long time, but it was his experience on The Traitors which made him decide to get himself evaluated and he did receive a diagnosis of ASD himself. I didn’t watch the show, but there is something to it if it brought someone in the spotlight for many years to deeply reevaluate how they are perceived.

Mind Shrinking
I used to feel a little lift listening to this podcast. I feel my mind is declining taking in reality tv memoir commentary.
I hate to say it but the addition of Christina is the nail in the coffin of a once light easy listen.
I never liked the rebranding to be honest. It is yuck for anyone who isn’t a cookie.
I couldn’t finish the Chelsea biography either (not good) & since fell flat in inspiration after coming to terms this is not my cup of tea or cookie.
I fully encourage everyone to boycott reality tv & fill your life with arts & real literature.
We can’t survive off of cotton candy and we don’t need a platform to convince others there may be nutritional value for what we push for them to consume.
The unwavering cookie content is wearing thin & I wish you all
Very good luck.
Touch grass, get off reality tv, stop posting IG stories.

Love it!
This show is like an afternoon at the beach. Entertaining, interesting and fun. I love the summaries of the books, and the host(s) assessments. It paints a thoughtful picture of each memoir. I am a big podcast fan but had never heard of this one until recently. I’m going into the archive and am listening to each and every episode since the podcast started. I appreciate that the “how we met” segments are now shorter. Those segments feel self indulgent and I confess that I fast forward past them.

Escapism with substance
This podcast is such a gem. It dives into books and topics that feel light on the surface, but thoughtfully centers women’s stories and explores the deeper relationship dynamics and cultural themes underneath. Chelsea does an amazing job balancing humor and insight. She and her guests are not afraid to dig into the complex layers that make these stories meaningful. Shoutout to Kristina because the production quality makes every episode engaging and easy to listen to. Highly recommend for anyone who loves smart conversations about books and life.

Tired of the Negative
I started out really liking this podcast because I love biographies and memoirs more than any other other genre. After listening for a while, I just got so tired of her incessant criticism of every person’s character. Isn’t there one person who can meet the standards of Chelsea‘s moral superiority? No. There isn’t. It got tiresome.

Disappointing take on Bad Bunny halftime…
No. We DON’T have “hold” or honor “the critiques” regarding this event. Did you really just say that? The halftime show was in fact a living piece of art. Your pod is supposed to be fun and fluffy, yes, but please recognize the moment you’re in.

5 stars only
I just love this podcast and the audio world that Chelsea and her team has created. I enjoy hearing her take on the wonderful, well-written memoirs (Ione Skye, for instance), and I extra love hearing her take on the terrible memoirs (think Denise Richards [and often ghost-written by Chelsea’s proclaimed arch-enemy, whatever his name is]). The Delta Burke interview which followed the traditional podcast discussing her memoir made me cry. Sometimes as I listen to this podcast, I think to myself that it makes all the sense in the world why Chelsea is as successful as she is in such a difficult industry. I listened to the Roseanne episode three times. Thanks Chelsea!

Love this show!
Chelsea is fabulous. I don’t even like memoirs, but I found this thru a crossover years ago, and I stayed for the stories and the thoughtful commentary. Skip the guest hosts, they are not as good as the OG. And boy do I wish we could rate guests because there are a few folks who are unlistenable, like the one from the Rita Moreno episode. Bring a timer if you’re invited to be a guest and be self aware of how annoying you’re being. Chelsea makes it all look very easy and clearly it isn’t!

What Went Wrong
Perfect combination of knowledge with Chelsea and What Went Wrong hosts.

Okay…
Chelsea has a fun personality, but she’s not always great about getting the details right. If it’s a subject you know a lot about, it’s kinda frustrating to listen to Chelsea talk about it because you end up constantly correcting her in your mind! Then it makes me hesitant to listen to her other episodes…

Love love the new episode with Chris and Lizzie from what went wrong. Could listen to you guys talk for days and days

What Happened!
Booooo!!! I used to love this podcast, but alas it too fell victim to capitalism. All the good memoirs are now subscriber only so now all us poor folk get is dumb trash talk and memoirs of people I’ve never heard. Please go back. GO BACK!!!

So good I pay for it
This show is incredible. It’s framed around celebrity memoirs but it goes way beyond that, pulling in viral articles, pop culture deep dives, and the kind of side-heist conversations you only get from the funniest, sharpest friends in your life. Chelsea and her guests feel like the coolest, most insightful girlfriends in the world, with the occasional guy who’s clearly been vetted by at least four of them.
I learn from this podcast, I laugh with it, I cry with it. I even pay for the commercial-free version, and I am cheap AF, so that should tell you everything. If you want a show that’s smart, warm, hilarious, and actually teaches you something, this is the one.

Always interesting, always deep. Lilith was a fantastic episode and the guest was spot on. Chelsea is back at the helm!

Use to be a much better show
I used to love this show when it was Celebrity Book Club and listened every week. The host was a lot more vulnerable, compassionate, and empathetic towards the extraordinary women she was reviewing the memoirs of - sharing openly how the book helped her self-reflect on her own life, behavior and places she could grow. As Glamorous Trash it really is aptly named - Devantez now seems to take just take a lot of pleasure in judging and ripping apart the memoirist like they are all just idiots and she is superior to them and she has all the answers they lack - I can’t get thru an episode anymore. I also had joined the pateron really excited to find a group of people who used memoirs to self reflect - but I quit because it was unfriendly, unwelcoming and just a bunch of people ripping apart these extraordinary women who have achieved so much more than anyone on this podcast has ever achieved.

I came in skeptically, and Chelsea is just undeniably talented and smart and willing to put in the work. I’m hooked.

Absolute favorite podcast ever
If you like pop culture and women then this the podcast for you. Chelsea and her guests are hilarious and warm and all about pointing out the patriarchy and uplifting women and female friendships and advancement in the arts. All around fun and satisfying time.

Thankful for the guest hosts
For the most part, Chelsea does a great job of providing layered and dynamic commentary but sometimes I find that she lacks nuance and that she is not as feminist as she thinks she is? Luckily she has great guests who are able to point out the shades of grey.
For example, when speaking about the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni video she says, “in terms of sexual harassment if I were a judge that would not be sexual harassment,” which means she is only looking at this video for face value and not thinking about what it can be like to feel uncomfortable, as a woman, in a work environment. Anyone who has ever been in a situation where your boss is being inappropriate towards you can probably relate to hoops women jump through to stop the behavior without making anyone feel uncomfortable (other than yourself)
LUCKILY her guest host pointed this out more or less.

Scheana Memwah Coverage
Perfect podcast! Love! No notes. But - wanted to share that Scheana had to know that everyone (including Lisa and Brandi) knew that she’d had an affair with Eddie because Scheana went straight to ET or Access Hollywood or Extra to do a mini-interview about Eddie cheating on her with Leann the day after Brandi gave US Weekly the exclusive on the Eddie/Leann affair because that’s how I recognized Scheana during the hot open of Vanderpump (and also how Brandi even found out about Scheana as well). Not sure what Scheana is talking about with that being a betrayal by Lisa. And it was a sit-down with Brandi (not just serving her), so I also don’t know why Scheana thought her restaurant boss wanted her to sit with Brandi then if it wasn’t to discuss the affair.

best podcast discovery of the year
I found Glamorous Trash in 2025 and it quickly became one of my favourite listens. Chelsea Devantez brings such heart, humour, and honesty to every episode. She has introduced me to books I never would have picked up on my own but enjoy hearing about, like Scheana Shay but also introducing me to books I’ve now read, including Gabrielle Union and Chelsea’s own memoir, both of which I absolutely loved.
The mix of personal storytelling, inside industry insight, and thoughtful conversations with some of my favorite guest podcasters makes this show feel both smart and deeply comforting. The back catalogue is incredible and perfect for long walks. I happily support this podcast with a subscription and always look forward to new episodes.

Thoughtful and surprising
What is so special about this pod are the memoir episodes I *don’t* think I’m going to be interested in. While I LOVE the rest of the pod, it’s during those eps that i not only enjoy the conversation, learn about someone’s life, etc etc. I always end up learning so much from Chelsea and co. about life, society, culture, and the diversity of meaning in women’s lives. Thanks for you do!

Great but….
I enjoy her takes on memoirs and recaps but I am tired of the political rants.
Hey3487
So disappointed
I was excited to check out this podcast after hearing Chelsea on with Kate Casey. She was hysterical and this podcast sounded right up my alley……then right off the top of the first one I tried was a political rant.
I love my trashy podcasts as a way to turn off the negative noise of politics.
And since Chelsea said she’s fine to lose listeners if needed to spread her opinion, I guess she lost me before she had me.

Self-Righteous
This podcast has the potential to be great, but the preachy, simplistic political rants ruin it all. The host and producer are egotistical and self-righteous and bring no curiosity or nuance thought to the conversation.

I’m here for it
All of it! The memoirs, the viral articles, the show recaps, the current events, the politics- ALL the chit chat and more. 10/10 keep doing exactly what you’re doing!

Smart and funny
Love this is podcast. It’s so entertaining and also educational and I love what they stand for. Chelsea’s book is also the best thing I’ve read this decade.

Forgot why I unfollowed and then quickly remembered
Political rants on every episode from an extremely uninformed and uniformly biased person.

Refreshing Winner
Oh I’m so glad I found this podcast. I listened to the Roseanne episode first. The host and guests took such a pragmatic approach to Roseanne and all of her ups and downs. It was so refreshing in a world that is becoming ever more polarized. I’ve since listened to maybe 10 episodes in a few days. I’m hooked.

There’s no reason not to listen to this podcast
I mean, unless you hate fun. Do you hate fun? Are you feeling down and want to stay down? Then by all means don’t listen to this podcast. However, if you enjoy fun, or need to pick me up, this is your podcast, and Chelsea Devantez is your woman!

Amazing Podcast
This podcast found me at the right time in my life. I have always enjoyed celebrity memoirs which drew me in at first but I was not expecting to also learn so many valuable life lessons. On the surface, the topics seem light and fun, and they are, but the deeper themes and take aways have really positively impacted my life. Chelsea brings humor, fun, intelligence and vulnerability to each episode which allows her guests to feel comfortable to do the same. I look forward to how the podcast will continue to evolve and I encourage checking it out if you are interested in a deep dive into celebrities, books and pop culture.

They can be very mean & uninformed
This podcast used to be enjoyable when they focused on the memoirs, but things have gone way downhill. Chelsea and her producer Kristina discuss things that they have no idea about, like the history of lesbian culture (despite Kristina being a lesbian she has little knowledge of lesbian history), they bash women’s rights activist and author JK Rowling, they’re cruel about the authors of their memoirs while Chelsea always claims to “bring compassion,” which is untrue. They mock women for their appearances, and justify it (Lauren Sanchez, etc). Guess no one told them about Audre Lorde (who they’ve clearly never read), who said you cannot use the master’s tools to dismantle the master’s house. Lately she had a scammer and a squatter who stole tons of money from many people on the pod, Kari Ferrell. It’s not nice to listen to anymore. And the Patreon is an echo-chamber of people afraid to discuss things and a very loud and ever-present male that the producer does not moderate or keep in check, unlike what they claim. They ignore science (on gender issues), hate JK Rowling, but given that neither of these women are educated above a BA, and neither them nor their guests are educated in a serious discipline says it all. They’re not critical thinkers, neither are their guests, and neither are their Patreon users. Their egos are huge, just like the Patreon mansplainer (a lawyer, who has enough time on his hands to mansplain and trample all over a largely female Patreon). If you’re not there to discuss things but rather just agree and get mad, what is the point of that? Why even have a discussion forum at all, if it’s a self-indulgent circle j***? And it’s a very American podcast with simplistic American POVs, no deep thinking involved here, and heavy anti-intellectualism and mean girl-mess. It’s very disappointing. Also, their choice of memoirs to review have gotten dumber and dumber and they’ve gone from reviewing books and discussing people to reviewing reality TV and mocking the women on there. And Chelsea herself admits that she cannot take criticism (in the Lucinda Williams ep) because she suspects that everyone hates women. I don’t think she has anyone to check her opinions and beliefs. And back to her admitting to refusing any and all feedback: I’m a woman, but I’m sure she’ll find a way to mock this review and the other one defending Rowling and women’s rights in her own way, calling us T*RFS, handmaidens, whatever she chooses to, to avoid putting her drink down and actually examining herself, her enormously ego, and her casual cruelty. It’s truly sad, they are so far from the intelligent podcast they present (or think) themselves to be.

Great Show
Chelsea is a great host and entertainer! She is witty, smart and hilarious and even when I think I have no interest in the book she covers I end up LOVING the episode. Also, keep it political when you need to.

I’ve been a cookie for a hot second and I appreciate the Patreon immensely. All the cookies are so supportive and lovely and it’s fun to be able to have a built in community to talk about episodes of the pod, books we’re reading or shows we’re watching. Highly recommend Chelsea’s book too. She covers everything: friendship break ups, bad ex boyfriends the highs of performing drag, and the lows of student loan debt. 💜

Mixed bag
Enjoyed the lucinda Williams podcast episode, which was fun and insightful.
However, I’m really disappointed by the vicious comments about the lovely JK Rowling, who is a women’s rights hero, and far from a loser. It’s disappointing to see the way some women bully other women due to their lack of understanding of contemporary feminist politics.
