Matt Gaetz nomination was never. It was a red herring for everyone to flip out about and then be relieved and less skeptical when Bondi was presented as AG.

Timely and Informative
This week my favorite interview was with Bowen Yang. Terry has the best method of welcoming people to share what they would not share on a TV interview. I loved hearing about his background and his family. Of course, he is outstanding on SNL.

A classic
Both Terry and Tonya are exceptional. Compelling stories and thoughtful interviews. A classic!

What is up with "padooooother"
I am quite liberal in my outlook and voiting record, but I can easily understand how this show and others like it whip up dim witted working class whites to a level of rage and to vote against their own interests just to stick it to smug left wing insufferably PC elites. If you dont get it, you probably never will. However, beyond all this, there is one thing I simply can't stand. It is utterly ridiculous and unexplanable. Why the heck does Terry Gross pronounce "producer" like a toddler with a lisp as "pa-doooo-ther"? Does she have a speech problem? Is there some kind of growth on her toungue? Since she occassionaly slips and pronounces it like a normal human (or 'yoo-man" as she likes to say), I have to assume this is some kind of PC left wing affectation. Meanwhile Tonya Mosley could moonlight in phone sex. Listen to her interview with Pedro Pascal. She sounds like she is (or wishes) she was speaking to him while laying in bed. This is the thing with so much of NPR that has this decades long listener annoyed. Why all these affectations? It is juvenile and completely unnecessary.

Solid
The constant reintroducing of the guest that Terry does is so invasive and seemingly unnecessary. Otherwise great listen.

Tonya
Terry can interview anyone.Tonya interviewing Marc Maron⌠a painfully fun disaster. Terryâs Charley Crockett interview is another example of why Tonya is incapable of having a deep knowledge exchange about music, politics, culture, film âŚon and on because Tonya is not vested. Sheâs only vested in herself as a NPR personality. Which is not much be vested in these days especially when one thinks about Noah Adamâs. Susan Stamburg⌠on and on who werenât filled with themselves or their voice- like Tonya is- but were filled with complete genuine, knowledgeable, curious wonder when asking questions. If must, give Tonya her own show which is unlikely with financial restraints NPR is now facing. If Tonya was as good as Terry or Dave or even Ann Marie Maldonado NPR would find persons like me to donate more and find funding with bigger voice pockets. At least her voice doesnât sound like Ayesha Roscoe crow cawing.

How to do a podcast
Terry and Dave are compelling. Tanya unfortunately does not have the voice or the personality to get beyond the surface. If Tanya takes over I wonât listen.

Love the Jeff Hiller interview! And I agree, donât change the intro, Terry!

Too many ads
I used to love this show, but the ads are oppressive. At this point they are intolerable, and I rarely listen any more.

Great show BUT âŚ
The film reviews are awful!! I canât understand how a show of this quality doesnât get that the film reviews they air are pretentious, smarmy and utterly cringe inducing - I generally quit before they start and any time I donât, I wish I had.

Always interesting
The gold standard of interview podcasts.

Hypocritical
Desi Arnaz wasnât someone Terry wanted to read about. He was a conservative who loved his adopted country. I notice that ârichâ has been replaced by âprivileged.â Hey, Terry, I think youâre privileged, too.
Movie degree
Bill Burr!
Finally someone pulls no punches on a NPR show, and tells the truth. Terriâs uncomfortableness was a bit cringy though not surprising. Itâs probably past time to have a new host to breeze some âfresh airâ to the show.

Critique of the Lucy Show
Terry, this was an outstanding interview. So much info I didnât know. Especially so, the racial configuration of race-mixed marriage smacked against the 1950s post-war push for social conformity.
What I find interesting was the drive to succeed by both people. I had no idea Desi could push the studios at that time and rather not assume a passive victim role but moved racist notions at the time and worked within the broadcast system. Those are big odds. I had no idea he was behind changes in tv production.
Just a great interview.
-my sympathies to losing Francis.

Need a new host
Terry gross has been great but itâs time to pass the torch on to somebody else. Somebody with a new fresh stance and perspective on things; that doesnât ask all the same questions to the same audience and guests. Someone new needs to breathe fresh life into this show.

Jake Tapper
We ALL saw the decline with our own eyes & ears and were distracted by the carefully edited sound bites & cover up. Thank you for speaking up and writing about it Mr Tapper. We need more accountability held to those who orchestrated the charade.

Fresh Air. Too biased. Discontinue please.
Once in this podcast, you canât get off. No

Love this show, but might be done
Iâm 55 years old and have listened to Fresh Air - almost religiously - for more than half my life. I donât write reviews but my disgust with the Jake Tapper interview compels me. I need a better word than disgust to describe the despair, malaise, nausea I feel listening to such an UNserious person using the term âdisastrousâ to describe a man whoâd given more to the public good than Jake Tapper could dream of in his entire life - before JT was even born.
Why did you give this air time without considering the damage it would do to people who would have gladly voted for Joe Biden again and still believe heâd have been so much better than the true tragedy that is the current administration. I clicked out of this at the first commercial break, but wonder why there is no serious questioning of the âinner circleâsâ DISASTROUS failure to prepare VP Harris to be seen in the public as the viable candidate. This is the failure that brought us the current situation; Tapperâs boom is nothing but a cover-up of the dereliction of the party.

âCover Upâ Episode
Good to daylight how difficult it is to face reality. Biden should have kept his promise to be a one term president and itâs only speculative if an open primary or other process would have selected a Demo candidate that could have beaten Trump.
Nonetheless , on Bidenâs worst day, our country was in the hands of a highly capable team working many positive policies to improve our country. And yes, within the guardrails of our constitution .
Now we are in hands of grossly incompetent sycophants enacting the cruel dictates of Project 2025 , trashing our constitution, and pursuing policies under direction of a power/money driven President and his core team who govern in an authoritative manner and have turned our democracy upside down.
Trump even has the media continuing to saneâi - tising his and his teamâs bitter and angry dictates. Just like during the campaign.
Iâm afraid Tappers book and this show gives more fodder for the people driving our country down such a horrible road.
So legacy media is all about âwhat aboutismâ and giving the other side space No matter how deranged.
Whereâs the story about Trumpâs mental acuity? Ability to process complex concepts? Ability to speak two or more complete sentences? Understanding of the very core document , the Constitution that he swore an oath too? Ability to know facts? Physical condition?
During the interview Tapper took amazing liberties in his conclusions. Hurd didnât prosecute because there was no case and then for all practical purposes Hurt smeared Biden which Tapper seemed to agree.
Terry, Terrible interview. No pushback on baseless/slanted comments and conclusions.

Jake Tapper is a hack
And actively working to undermine our democracy. Why give him air time?
pdxjk
Jake Tapper? Really?
Wish you hadnât given this topic or the book more air time. People like Jake are why we now live under authoritarianism. So thanks for that. Why not expose the CURRENT presidents horrific shortcomings which is doing real and irreparable harm in the current moment. That Biden is a forgetful old man is not news. You think Trump is up to bat every day? You should be focused on president miller and the project 2025 architects now ruining all that was great about this country. Shameless.

The Wellness Industry ⌠sponsored by WFM
I enjoyed the interview with Amy Larocca concerning the so-called wellness industry. I always chuckle sarcastically though, when the show is interrupted by ads from Whole Foods Market etc. WFM, the very cult of âwellnessâ.

Michelle Williams
I was so excited for this interview as I fell deeply in love with âDying for Sexâ and Michelle Williams is such an interesting and compelling and private person. The reason I gave it 4-stars is I didnât understand why it became an interview ABOUT Jeremy Strong for so long. I was quite confused by that choice and frankly disappointed.

Outstanding interview
Okay, Iâm just here to say Tonyaâs interview with Michelle Williams was so smart and affecting. Really impressive interviewer *and* interviewee.

better replacement for Terry, please
I struggled to understand why I didnât like the interviews with Tonya as I wanted to understand whether I had some implicit bias. But Iâm relatively confident itâs because of affectation. She adds syllables to words that donât exist, doesnât really hear but only listens, and follows up with her next scripted question instead of engaging with what the guest just said. I understand this happens in audio - as soon as you put a mic in front of someone they often automatically change their intonation etc,, especially with women; I understand this is a compensation, that women have historically been dismissed and have subconsciously and unintentionally modified their speaking patterns to be heard, but I almost canât stand the vocal affectation Tonya employs and skip through my lineup to the next Terry interview.

Such a moving interview! The actorâs intelligence really shines through.

Favorite podcast for years!
I love Terriâs interview style. She asks interesting, niche questions that show she has researched the subject. It is not a podcast with fluff or redundancy. Terri is a professional journalist. I like Tanya Moseley. She is starting to catch up to Terri in terms of depth and knowledge. Favorite podcast. I listen every week. Rip to your husband Terri :(

No, Tonya, not "me and my husband," it's "my husband and I.

Please get better Fresh Air
The podcast has really declined in almost every way. I used to love it! Bad interviewing with simplistic questions offering no insights. Dave is great. He is thoughtful and he brings out the unexpected. Tonya is not a good interviewer. She is too chummy and hero worships the guests. She also uses âlikeâ as much as a teenager. Itâs not a professional look.

Always Excellent
Terri, your work has always been superb. My deepest condolences for the passing of your beloved. The episode where you shared memories of your husband made both me and my husband weep. Take care.

Boring and blatantly polticial
Hosts use every topic as a lever to instantiate their own world view. Perpetually 5-10 years removed from relevancy.

Where is the diversity and the men!?
Terry is wonderful and her show has been so great for so many years.
I think it needs more diversity and a new, critical look.
And to include more men. It is so directed toward women now.

Downhill? Maybe consider a counter-interview to balance horrible interview with Tough!
I just have to write with my disappointment at Daviesâ I
April 2025 interview with âscience journalistâ Tough on ADHD. I usually *love* Fresh Air but the interview with Tough on ADHD was almost unlistenable. Tough revealed himself to be a non-scientist and deeply un-curious and un-empathetic journalist. And Davies allowed him to weasel out of any challenge by not pressing him to go beyond the âheadlinesâ of the studies he cites to. And he also allowed Tough to âplay expertâ despite not having clinical experience with people with ADHD. There is so much more to explore and plenty to improve upon in the world of ADHD research. But Toughâs focus on school performance and height really misses the mark. Maybe consider having a real expert on to counter Toughâs fake takes.

Left wing
The interviewers are excellent, but the topics are left wing. I ignore those, but those that interest me are very good.

Still One of the Bests
I have been listening to Fresh Air on and off for ⌠30 years maybe. Is that possible? I donât listen to every episode and occasionally an interview is a little âoffâ for me. Sometime Iâll catch up on the subjects that interest me, and it struck me today that, all in all, Fresh Air is still consistently one of the best podcasts/NPR programs out there. The material (for the most part) is relevant, timely, and interesting and the hosts generally knock it out of the park.

Oh yes!
I wish the review by the inane-calling person wasnât the top review. Tonya Mosley and Terri Gross are two of the most thoughtful presenters and interviewers I have ever had the pleasure to hear.

Um, time to retireâŚ
Terry Gross was good; emphasis on WAS. She parroted the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA Deep State Lie against President Trump. Now, she just embarrasses herself.

Staple in my life!
So many interesting topics explored with depth and compassion. I have loved Terry Gross for years and now enjoy learning and growing through Tonya Mosleyâs incredible interviewing skills. Also glad that Dave Davies has not left completely and continues to contribute his insights.

Tonya
I so disagree with with the last reviewer. Tonyaâs questions are insightful & add depth to the interviews.

Loving Tonya Mosley
I canât imagine a tougher act to join than that of Terri Gross, the gold standard. Tonya Mosley does an amazing job of standing next to Terri and doing a wonderful job. Fresh Air remains a valued news source and a trusted interview source. Good job, Tonya and Terri. Good job, NPR.

Hit or Miss. Mostly Miss Of Late.đ
Lately more miss than hit. I donât understand the preoccupation with SNL. Itâs not a particularly funny nor clever satirical show and itâs way past itâs sell-by.
The entertainment topics of late on Fresh Air are, at very best, banal and sycophantic.
Time to move on.
What was an NPR flagship is now more of a canal barge.

I Love This Show
These are the only interviews I listen to. I just love Terry, Tonya and Dave. I learn so much and their guests are clearly honored to be on the show. Itâs a breath of Fresh Air!

Fresh Air - everyone is great
Couldnât disagree more with the last review - all the hosts are awesome
Hopeless NPR addict
Oh my
Iâm so sorry, but I wish Tonya posed her questions outloud to herself so maybe she could hear how inane they sound.
