Shannon talks like she genuinely believes she’s well informed, but she has the intelligence for research of a boomer aunt. She refuses to hear any viewpoint but her own and keeps ranting about a “divide,” even though she actively partakes in it and drags listeners into the same narrow mindset. Her hostility toward men feels weirdly intense, like she’s carrying around resentment she’s never dealt with, and it really comes across like she’s projecting a lot from whatever is going on in her own unhappy relationship. And honestly, the way she gushes over music made for tweens and teens is strange for someone in her 30s. I get that she covers pop culture, but the excitement she has over artists way younger than her feels childish and gives off serious arrested-development vibes.

Sabrina Carpenter’s new song “Please Please Please” sounds like it copied Shannon’s ‘Seeds’ jingle.

If I could only share what I know Shannon did to a friend of mine. She’s too classy to post the receipts anywhere and asked me to not, but after reading them…count me as a former fan. Just so so disappointing.

I’ve listened to every episode because I love celeb gossip and conspiracy theories so it’s pretty hard for this podcast not to tick all my boxes for entertainment. Shannan has interesting takes especially around pattern recognition or trends in media. Other times, she jumps to really illogical conclusions, but hey, no one is ever going to agree with everything someone says and that’s okay! It keeps it fun and exciting! I will note the one thing that irritates me at times and that led me to a 4 vs 5 star rating…Shannan is often incredibility contradictory on her takes, and she can’t NOT talk about celebs she doesn’t like in episodes that are completely unrelated to them. For example, she says she’s not a Swiftie anymore (toooootally cool, TS is not everyone cup of tea and it’s weird when fans get mad about that lol), but Shannan mentions her in EVERY episode. She literally cannot keep her name out of her mouth, which like…why? I understand covering TS content even if you’re not a fan because she works in media and that drives podcast content, but TS comes up in episodes completely unrelated to her. Shannan acknowledges this, often joking about she knows people find it annoying that she can’t stop talking about Taylor in Every. Single. Episode. Which if you’re a fan that would make more sense, but if you’re a hater, just move onnnnnnn. It gets old hearing her drag someone any chance she gets when the core content of the episode has no relation to her. It’s like it’s becoming her entire personality to find a connection to TS every way she can in her content. If you’re aware and people are telling you it’s getting to be a lot, why choose to keep doing it? In her most recent episode I actually laughed out loud because she said, “There is a collective exhaustion everyone is feeling…and that’s how I feel about TS right now. After this episode, I’m happy to not have anymore thoughts about TS for a long time, like it’s just kind of exhausted and depleted at this point”, yet her weekly listeners like me know she’ll be yapping about her again on the next episode. Shannan knows she will too bc she literally acknowledges on every episode that she can’t keep the woman’s name out of her mouth. So to say you’re soooo excited to finally not think about her…girl please. “Actually Romantic” may as well be about you with how much energy you spend on a woman you dislike. PLEASE can we stick to the actual content and not talk about her every episode? You’re adding to all of our collective exhaustion…

I have listened to every episode bc Shannon is so open minded, blunt, hilarious, honest, reflective and charismatic. I literally crack up at work. I also love that you’re a Reddit stan Shannon!!! I love your advice! I just think you are so insightful! And it’s actually realistic advice. I can’t express in words how much I love FF/shannon. It feel like Im talking listening to my best friend /older chill sister. You also introduced me to blind items which I can not thank you enough for.

I always come back to this show because the host although I don't agree with her half the time & had that awful Taylor hack journo on, she is very open minded. She tells it like it is and is true to what she believes. She is authentic and easy to relate to on every level. She also corrects herself and is open to learn knew things that change her mind. This is such a rare quality these days and I listen because to this show because of it :)

In regards to animals not getting their moments anymore! I feel like Axolotl are having their moment now and a little bit ago Red Pandas were big! Anyway! This is perfect show for when I have too much on my mind. Great job :)

I've listened to this show for the last few years and found it very entertaining. However, the fact that Shannon partnered with Ro leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I can't keep listening.

I mean you’re exploiting Virginia guiffre and insinuating all kinds of silly things about her death, like a tabloid. It’s gross. She already talked. There was no reason to curse her or whatever you said. As if that’s possible.

People who give a vile mean girls like Plantation Barbie soooo much undeserved credit and grace are not to be trusted and are cut from the same cloth IMO. I’m sick to death of women acting as if being critical of another woman’s shady behavior and actions is somehow “anti feminist”. Women are not above reproach, ESPECIALLY women with power, celebrity and hundreds of millions of dollars. But when another woman cannot spot blatant, narcissistic behavior, I have to assume it’s because they also identify with it.

Disappointing to see two groups stuck in their positions, talking past each other with a lot of passive aggression (not really from Shannon lol) This Blake/Justin sitch is ridiculous. Neither of you have a reason to trust either side so much, and yet!!!

I mostly listen to this show when I feel kind of dumb because it makes me feel smarter.

I’ve been listening for years and the evolution has been amusing to experience. The folks chosen as guests (particularly the snarkbait hosts ep & we met at acme in March ‘25) has me unfollowing. The conversations are not as fresh and I’m bored by the other podcasts you seem to lump yourself in with. I’ll pop back around and hope for the thought-provoking and messy (conspiracy!!) vibes to return🫶

Ridiculous. Men pretending to be women should be NOT allowed to play sports with biological girls and women because of the statistical facts of men having more testosterone and muscle. Men playing against women results in injuries & cruelty against real women.

I was interested in this podcast. First time ever listening. I was turned off pretty much immediately by the pejorative comments about Taylor Swift and her fans. Be better.

This used to be one of my favorite podcasts, I’ve been a huge supporter of Shannon and subscribed to her Patreon. But she has let politics and an us vs. them mentality ruin her work. Especially on Patreon, she has released several shows that completely alienate anyone in her audience that is not extremely liberal. She has also started perpetuating Antisemitic rhetoric and that’s when I knew I had to unsubscribe. I don’t know why she had to bring politics into a pop culture podcast but she has completely ruined her show and platform.

Some of the things the host says are so dumb it’s criminal. Im surprised this woman isn’t walking into walls on the reg. How cognitively incompetent do you have to be to actually enjoy this? Great voice though. Peddling that Baldoni is a predator and Blake is his victim narrative is so obtuse. In real world subordinates don’t get to lock up their boss in a basement by Dasani water cases or threaten to walk away using your husband’s and best friend’s fame to bury their superior. So Blake acting like she survived SH is ridiculous. And why would Baldoni want to sabotage his own movie project he’s been working on for years, and destroy his relationship w a very famous and very powerful lead when there’s more sequels and prequels to be made? Seems very short sighted for a man that took 5years to develop a movie. Does he not like success or money? Lol

I’m not even a Swifty and still find it troubling how often this girl brings up her hatred of Taylor Swift. Episode covering Jay-Z allegations? She of course brings up Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo TWICE before I turned it off. You are talking about a sexual assault case that has NOTHING to do with either of them, but my God she will find a way to bring up Taylor no matter the topic. We get it. You hate her. Move on.

She has a way of making me intrigued about subjects I’ve never thought about, shows I haven’t seen, and celebrities I haven’t even heard of. I will sometimes consider skipping an episode when one I’m not familiar with pops up, but I am always glad I give listening a shot because I’m fully invested in minutes. Of course, most episodes don’t fall into this category, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. All this to say, she just has a way with making everything interesting! I love how real she is, how open-minded she is, and how quick she is to own up to any mistakes she may make as a human. She /definitely is not/ far right or right-leaning at all, she is liberal-leaning and actually thinks for herself. Also, not sure where all these recent claims about her not doing research are coming from. She literally lives for researching topics that spike her interest. Further, just because she covers a conspiracy, does not mean she believes the conspiracy, which she makes a point to note in her episodes. This is an entertainment podcast, not a news source. Not sure how anybody can miss that memo! Anyways, love her and she is a gem!

Her voice and unique, genuine honesty for living her authentic self will forever keep me as fan. I tell all my first and co workers about fluently forward but secretly enjoy they’ve never heard it, YET! P.S Anyone leave a review less than 5 stars will be hexed for life!

This podcast has been in a downward spiral over the past year. The host seems checked out and disinterested. She used to put a lot of work and effort into her old episodes, but now it seems like she barely does any research. There are too many incorrect facts and increasingly bizarre topics to make it worth my time.

Shannon has the best podcast voice!! Love that I discovered this podcast. i’m always excited when a new one drops. Everything Shannon says is just so real and relatable and you can tell she’s just a normal, curious human being. she does a great job researching her topics.
